  1. Training Group “You lot sure are quiet. I guess that’s a good thing. Means you’re going to listen to me more.” Virgil couldn’t help, but remark at the silence. “I’ll tell you what: since you guys want to get out early, I’ll make you a deal. If you think you can kick my ass in a sword fight, I’ll send you straight to the battlefront with Sir Heizen’s men.” There was a grin on his face as he withdrew his sword. The silver tipped sword was well polished and one could see their reflection in it if they got close enough. Kelsey heard Virgil’s words and immediately reacted before everyone else. “Sir, what if someone gets hurt? Shouldn’t we wait for…” “No, these rookies need to learn what war is like first hand,” Virgil interrupted. “Besides, it’s not I’m going to kill them so you can just treat whatever happens easily.” “Okay. Just tell me when it’s over.” Kelsey turned around and put her hands over her ears. She really didn’t want to see this. “So, who’s up first?” Virgil asked. DragonMasterKrim “39…40.” The archer collapsed to the ground once he finished that last push-up. He didn’t even budge for a minute. “I feel pathetic. Not even a twitch from that lass. That hurts more than these push-ups.” Zachariah tried to get up, but quickly fell back to the ground. He looked over to a tall pirate looking man close by to him. “Could you please help me up?”
  2. "Don't worry about it. After all, first come, first served." Nina seemed rather calm in her response. Her thoughts not so much. What are you doing, Nina? This is your only shot at finding a partner and you just blew it. You're gonna be stuck alone. She took a deep breath before continuing. "By the way, I'm Nina. And you are?"
  3. Nina followed close behind while this "lonely" girl showed where she was sitting. "I'm sorry about that. This whole partner thing had me worked up." She took a quick moment to sit her plate on the table. "I just need a breather and just talk to somebody normally. Knowing my luck, you probably already found a partner." Nina then took a seat while enjoying some of her mashed potatoes hoping to hear the sounds of a miracle.
  4. Opportunity taken. (irl my opening conversations are way more awkward than that). Edit: I decided to use that site to give a visual of Nina. No, that's not exactly how her outfit is going to look, but pretty close.
  5. After Nina got in line to get her food, she started to wander around aimlessly searching for table to table. She noticed a small group of people talking with one of them complimenting another's eyes . Those people look rather nice. The black her girl shook her head for a brief second. Focus, Nina, focus. You can talk later, but right now you have to find a partner. Just then, she noticed a silver-haired girl walking up, but empty handed. Perfect. She didn't waste a minute as she quickly rushed to meet up with this girl. "Hi there. I know this might seem a bit weird, but you look a bit lonely. Mind if I tag along with you for a bit."
  6. This is a little nitpicky, but you might want to consider tagging your posts to the PC(s) your talking to instead of the character talking. It makes it easier to follow along. Maybe I'm just being a bit whiny as I'm still trying to figure out who's talked to who.
  7. @K_H: You mixed up Evan and Henry (Henry's outside...being the same old Henry).
  8. A long, long time ago, I would've said absolutely no romance at all, but I've slowly grown to like it more. I'm not against a romance, but I don't want to see anything developed or forced right away. Unless it's well done, I might just glance over it though and not say anything. Speaking of Ymora, I swear to god every time my PC wasn't a complete ass to somebody he was shipped with them. Probably a good thing you stayed out of it Huk.
  9. I think the hardest jump is the first time you play a character way outside your comfort zone. At first it feels impossible, but once you get the hang of it, it's a whole lot of fun.
  10. This. This right here is what's so important about the issue. Back when I (and probably a lot of you) was young, we had dial-up and never really used the internet. That's how this is going to feel.
  11. I've only listened only about 20 minutes, but they are giving some very, very good advice even during that short amount of time and I highly recommend watching it. I really feel like there is good advice for hosts at all levels. Since it's the only thing I've heard so far, how well you prepare is definitely something to consider. Personally, I use a light plot point method when I designed my RP. When the next chapter gets closer, I'll make a list of a couple of things that will happen, but not usually too detailed with some points I might not do. There are certain things that are going to happen, but I can easily fluctuate something to better fit the situation. I also like how they gave the box text example and how Adam reacted. Something like that is definitely not an uncommon reaction when something's thoroughly written all the time. That's all I'm going to do until I finish watching the whole podcast (it's great to listen to while doing homework) and I'll be adding a lot more to discuss in my post after that.
  12. I figured a slow down would happen before we even started on the cup. I'm not complaining though as it gives me time to work on other things that need my attention.
  13. I'm probably going to move things forward tomorrow night, but tonight I'm going to be posting a bunch of info on the Onishian war/pre-war prior to the story as well as a few bits of info on what's been going on. Edit: Change of plans, I'm going to let someone duel Virgil. Normally, this is a Mymiridon only thing who can duel special NPCs outside of battles, but this'll be an exception.
  14. Hey, has anyone seen Turbo around lately? It seems like he just vanished. @Azery: If you want to finish it, go for it, but I don't want to burden you with something we don't necessarily need (Chim technically did make a map for us).
  15. "Here we go again with the battle talk," Henry said as he moved over to lean against a wall still focusing his attention on James and Raiza. "Mareek will win, there's no question about that. The kid could easily sweep me even so it'd probably take a miracle for Lana to win." Henry was never really a big fan of talking about other people's battles before they even happened. It was too bad though as he had practically seen everyone battle at least once and had a general idea of they're styles.
  16. ...Sorry I didn't respond earlier. I may or may not have fallen asleep and may or may not have started sleeptalking about roleplaying. Anyways, I'm fine if you want to pair up with me. I'm only waiting to interact because I thought we were about to move to lunch.
  17. Before I forget, I think I'll make Nina's birthday is Feb 16 (not because that's today's date, but mostly because this is my birthday month...yeah laziness). Literally, I misread the first post and thought they had to be withing 6 months of each other which I made a list of compatible characters for that. That was my fail of the day.
  18. While most of students were mingling, a black haired girl stood idly leaning against a nearby occasionally fixing her glasses whenever the decided to tilt. The girl was in deep in thought thinking of who knows what when something hit her. Every seems so focused on finding a partner, but I'll settle with whoever is left...unless there isn't anybody left. Crap! I hope I'm not too late. Nina began twisting her head back and forth trying to find some lonely girl, but failed to notice even one. "Sigh...maybe something will turn up during lunch."
  19. While I'm not interested in joining (maybe when I was younger and had more freedom I would), this seems like a roleplay you have to be committed to. I'd pretty much just get lost and slow everybody down in the end. The one thing I feel I should mention is that you might want to really cut down on all that info in the beginning. You're trying to hook people in with that, not bombard them with info they may not need to know right away. Then again, our writing styles really differ which is why I can't say too much. There's also the fact I really didn't follow the original RP which kind of makes me feel way behind for some reason. Just answer me this: if I were to start posting in the IC without reading the info above, how lost would I be?
  20. I'm going to read through all of this again, but I'd kind of like to know which PCs/NPCs haven't taken a partner in yet (or at least a likely partner).
  21. Sorry, but I'm not going to be posting until midnight, but holy cow you guys move fast. 40 replies in just two days. I hope you can keep up with that Kitt because I'd have trouble.
  22. I really have to stop posting updates in the middle of the night. At least I don't have morning classes.
