  1. Howdy Folks! Hukuna here! Normally, this is where i would put my forward, however as this is a FEF… l don’t think it needs such an introduction so… let’s get into things shall we? Plot: The continent of Draestria is a quiet land, full of verdant fields of greens and tranquil forests. it is a land not truly ruled by any central government, Even cities that could have the means of such express no effort to do so. For Draestrians, they enjoy their peace and quiet. The simple life. Lords rule their fiefs, the common folk work for their wage and the peasants farm the land. Simple, easy, effective. Cities run on the merit of everyone doing their part to keep things smooth. Of course, it’s not perfect. Nothing ever truly is, but it the life they choose to live. However, a small kingdom is about to find itself in a World of Adventure. In the south lies a small fiefdom of the name, Padstow. A quaint little village if it could even be called that. Padstow, ruled by the old and wise Lord Coel, has always been thoroughly nestled in the gentle rolling hills of the southlands. Coel never had much want to be involved the the dim and droll of the larger world and sought to create a place he, and those he choose to bring into his service, could live in peace. It had worked for a time, but soon they would find themselves right in the thick of plots that threatened their beloved Draestria. Wicked Machinations that would come even to doorstep of Padstow. Players will play the as the many servants and friends of Lord Coel, and they will be tasked with unraveling the mysteries that threaten their homeland. Characters will be created at level 1 of the Trainee Classes. Draestrian Map: FEF Handbook,Version 1.Salt [Seriously important. Please read.]: Should directly download the Handbook for you. lf not, please let me know. Rule Changes: General: Skills: New Skills: Class Changes: New Classes: Performer Changes: https://pastebin.com/gB7GC2sQ Gaiden Chapters: Submissions and Submission Rules: Please submit sheets to me via pm on Discord or Reborn for approval before posting them in thread. Sheets not following this rule will be thrown out and not considered. ((even if you then submit by PM. i may also not consider new sheets you create after doing so. So please PLEASE PLEEEEEEASE don’t break this rule.)) Further, submit to me a backstory for your character via pm as well. However, >>> DO NOT <<< include this in your public sheet posted to this thread. This is meant to remain secret. I will have to disqualify sheets that do not follow this rule. Do not pick your Tarot Card until your character is accepted into the RP proper. I will be randomly choosing the order players may pick after all the characters are selected for the RP.
  2. Hi o/ You probably know me. If you don't, I'm Acqui, and this is possibly the second time I'm embarking on a highly ambitious project for this subforum (the first being Vyker/The Worlds Apart project, which fell apart due to lack of interest.) Today I'm here to bring you a new idea, known as A.R.T.S. (Acqui's Relatively Tactical System) // A.L.T.S. (Acqui's Less Tactical System) This forum, which has a high number of combat-oriented RPs, surprisingly has a lack of stat-based RPs. This is especially odd when you consider that a large number of our players here come from D&D backgrounds. This system, inspired by a number of Fire Emblem RPs over on another forum, seeks to fill this niche by providing an outlet for streamlined, tactical combat. The Problem: Combat is something that can cause a lot of grief to a host. When is it time for a player to stop getting lucky and avoiding an attack? When is it appropriate for a boss to finally stop dodging and take a hit? When should a boss take damage, and how much damage should he take before he goes down? The ambiguity when it comes to battles can be the source of many a headache for GMs and players alike. In addition, in these RPs, it's common for many players to skim over their battles with the mook characters, in favor of reaching the boss fights quickly and accomplishing objectives. This can cause the battle to feel less like a battle and detract from its intensity. With this system, we replace the subjectivity of battles with pure, hard, stat-based combat to streamline the process and facilitate the management of the RP, so you can focus less on fighting and more on the meat of a collaborative storytelling experience: the character interactions. The Proposal: The ARTS/ALTS is a system which attempts to take grid-based tactical combat/tabletop combat and port it over to an RP-by-post format, based heavily on the system used by Shin on the SerenesForest forum (more on this later). By utilising a visual map and stat-based combat, it is possible to more clearly outline and define the tactical objectives of a combat situation. The Map: A.R.T.S. Base System. Powerful, adaptable, complex. A.L.T.S. A Simplified version of the ARTs. Lightweight and minimalistic. For people who really hate numbers. Call and Response So, now that I've typed all that out, I'd like to get a brief sensing: Is anyone interesting in using this system to host/play? If so, I'll expand on it (skills, magic, terrain, etc.) and start compiling resources for use (tilesets, sprites, digital art, Excel Spreadsheets, etc.). If nobody's interested in this, then I won't work on it any longer and move on to other things. Let me know ^^
  3. Fire Emblem Deminian Knights Welcome all to this little RP of mine. Took a little bit, but it’s finally up. Rules 1. Respect thy other players and host. 2. Sexual Content should be inexistent or minimized -Due to the nature of the RP, I’ll be quite lax on Violence and Swearing, but I may say something if I think you’re going overboard. 3. No bunnying without the other player’s permission Overview Deep in the Kingdom of Annea, a massive war has broken out against the Onishian Empire. The Mad King gave his men orders to slaughter every last Annean for reasons unknown. The war had been going on for almost a year with the Anneans slowly losing hope. Their victories in the war grew smaller and smaller with the Onishian Empire slowly pushing them further and further into the kingdom. Fully aware of the situation, the Senate formed a pact decreeing for the armies to immediately find and train new recruits for battle. While there was dispute among the army, some of the high ranking members reluctantly stepped down from the front lines and scattered about. One such man was General Virgil who was ordered southward to the town of Deminbriar. With spirit of Annea slowly shattering, help was all but difficult to find. The Four Kingdoms NPCs Available Units Battles Battles are divided up into two group which I call Free-for-all and Critical Moments. Free-for-all is basically when I let you control the fight however you feel like it, but I prefer if you mix it up a bit. Critical Moments are a bit more serious. Unlike the former, I control the enemy units in quick battle. It's best to proceed through these with caution because one small slip could prove fatal. How battles functions are rather simple. The Weapons triangle helps influence the outcome of the battle. If you fight a Myrmidon with a Lance, that Myrmidon is probably going to die. However, if you see a Warrior nearby, you may want to retreat because you likely won't be unscathed. Axe wielders are able to break lances rather easily, but sword wielders are a bit quicker and can hit axe wielders before they move. Lance wielders have a longer ranger making it difficult for a sword wielder to move in. Keeping that in mind will keep your character safer. Bosses In the games, bosses were units who were just merely stronger units. Things are a bit different here. Unlike a majority of those bosses, these guys are tough, unfair, and sometimes downright brutal. Each boss has at least one special trick or trait that no other enemy has. This could be just about anything, some including armor that cannot be pierced. The only way to take down these foes is through both wit and teamwork. Sign-Ups Reference Sheet
  4. Deminbriar (Sunrise) Deep in the Southern parts of Annea lived a small town called Deminbriar. Not many were awake this early in the sleepy town, but a girl wearing a white robe could be seen rushing through the empty streets. In her hand, she held a folded piece of paper with a red seal encased on the front. She turned one way then another, until she arrived at her destination. In front of her was a small grim looking house with a blueish roof to fit the mood. She knocked on the door a couple of times then stood there waiting for a response. “What the bloody hell do you want?” A half dressed man opened the door wearing only an orange shirt and some worn-out trousers. His hair was in a wild mess and the dark circles in his eyes gave away his mood rather quickly. “I’m s-sorry to bother you at this hour.” The girl used her free hand to curl a strand of her black hair to ease her nerves. “It’s just that this…this soldier wanted me to give you this letter. He said it was important.” She held up the paper in her hand and quickly jumped back when he yanked it from her hand. “What do the damn fools want from me this time?” The man slowly removed the seal and glanced over the contents inside. “How do they expect me to read this? It’s nothing more than complete scribbles.” “Sir, I might be able to read it.” The girl was about to step back again, but the man stopped her and handed the paper back. “Let’s see…seems like they are a new batch of recruits being sent to you.” “Great! Just when I get done with one set of maggots, they send me new ones. How bad is it?” “Seems like most of them just need a quick examination before being sent off. There is one thing you might want to know: they’re already here.” “Those damn politicians are trying to kill me. They can’t even give me one day. It’s already hard enough training these damn babies when I should be fighting alongside my men.” The man took a deep breath eventually calming his nerves. “Why don’t you make yourself useful for once and check attendance while I get ready? Make sure to drag archer boy on your way.” The man then slammed the door before the girl could even respond. A little bit of time passed as the girl made her way outside of town. The fields were hilly and quite spacious. Shepherds were just getting up and tending to their flock, while farmers were busy with fieldwork. The girl eventually made her way to a flat area where a group of people were standing. They were a bit intimidating, but they seemed a bit friendlier compared to the other. “May I have your attention please,” she said ever so softly. “Welcome to the Annean Army. We’re happy you’re lending us a hand in this conflict. Can each of you please say your name so that I can take attendance? It’d also be kind of nice to know a little bit about you too if that’s not a problem.”
  5. Hi there folks, the name's Commander. You may see me float around on the site, but I tend to stick around in the roleplay. Right here I have a roleplay and kind of want to see everyone's thoughts on it. For those of you new to the series or don't really now much about it, here's a good video I found that details all of the added content in Fire Emblem over the years. Hopefully that'll give some of the newer fans insight on Fire Emblem mechanics. Story Deep in the Kingdom of Annea, a massive war has broken out against the Onshia Empire. The Mad King gave his men orders to slaughter every last Annean or face his wrath. The war had been going on for almost a month and things were looking grim for Anneans. The Senate formed a pact decreeing for the armies to immediately train new recruits for battle. While there was dispute among the army, some of the high ranking members stepped down from the front lines and scattered about. One such man was General Virgil who ventured down south to the town of Deminbriar. That is where out story begins… *** Now that I have all that out of the way, I can get to the fun part. While I am keeping a vast amount of fire emblem elements in, I tinkered around with it a bit trying to make this work better for a roleplay. I'll mostly just cover the significant changes. Battles Instead of going with calcs and an RNG, I decided to go on a different road. Battles are divided up into two group which I call Free-for-all and Critical Moments. Free-for-all is basically when I let you control the fight however you feel like it, but I prefer if you mix it up a bit. Critical Moments are a bit more serious. Unlike the former, I control the enemy units in quick battle. It's best to proceed through these with caution because one small slip could be fatal. Classes The following list is just a rough draft of the base classes that'd be used for Sign-Ups. This is not all of the classes Calvary As you may have noted, all the above units are foot soldiers. I did the intentionally as almost every class has a secondary class they can choose between after a certain point. One example would be a Soldier can become a Lance Knight. Each path has pros and cons to it, but neither one is better than the other. Sorry if it's mostly just game mechanics, but I've been focusing more on that compared to the overall story (which isn't going to be anything outside of typical Fire Emblem). Feedback is greatly appreciated. Upgrading your Weapon Throughout the roleplay, shops will be accessible to buy better equipment. This can be anything from a better sword, a far ranged weapon such as a javelin, and even being able to buy healing items such a Vulnerably. You have a limited amount of gold given to you buy the "lord" so choose carefully. (I'll give you a brief of what you can buy whenever we reach one). There is also another nice feature they have. Should your weapon carry cracks or rust, they can fix or replace it for a small price. Promoting Your Unit If you played the games, you may know what a Master Seal is already. Master Seal is a special item that let's you promote your unit up to a more powerful one. Master Seals exist in the roleplay, but they aren't called that. Each class has a special seal that let's them promote to the next class. To find one, you must show a mastery in ones own category by impressing a certain person. I'll go into more detail when one of these pops up in the Roleplay.
