Rate pls. It all begun as a friendly group chat. After all, I needed new friends if I were to struggle through this new school life. I started to look for people whom shared my interests, and before long, I had myself what I called a best friend - Ruth. We would spend time with each other as long as possible. He understood me, and I understood him. It was simple, yet truly spectacular. We were what I thought inseperable. Two years later, we were transferred into different classes, Ruth being in the better for his marks far exceeded mine. I was cast into the class of the lousiest grades. We still kept in contact, but I was determined to catch up to his level. Undoubtedly, I had to make new friends to replace Ruth. I befriended a group of students who had somewhat the same interests as I did. I admired their teamwork in almost every matter, but they had problems doing their schoolwork. They would not do the assigned homework, copy off another person, etc. Nonetheless I hung out with them. Some time later, they had thought me as one of them and called themselves 'Slavens' - Lativan for 'Famous'. It correctly depicted the group, yet it sounded wrong at the same time. The gang was really famous for bullying, and I was a part of it. At that time, I didn't see it as bullying, only merely getting what I wanted the easy way. If I needed money, all I had to do was to demand for it from a puny kid. Ruth was soon nothing but a disconnected port I used to frequent. I lost contact with him - The last I heard of was that he was a model student. A few months after I truly became a undesirable person. Homework was not a bother and examinations were copied off Slavens. All this, I managed to keep secret from my kin. By the time I finished school, Slavens was no longer just a bunch of people. It had expanded to large amount of people, turning quickly into a gang. The person in command was a intimidating man called Tiang. He was a perfect example of a tyrant, and did a good job running the gang. Having been with Slavens in its budding years, I had the seniority title and was given authority over a group of people. I had the task of handling drugs that were imported from other parts of Asia, obviously proving how large the organization was. Slavens was on the blacklist of countries, and we truly became "famous". However, I was unsatisfied with my current status. I wanted the boss' seat, the seat Tiang warmed. Jealousy overwhelmed me, and soon I was spreading rumors that Tiang was a mule of the police force, and was planning to send us into jail, all at once. Initally, people had doubts, but as the police force started catching up on us, the plan worked. The uprising forced Tiang out and me into his position. I was leader at last. I decided to put Slavens into solely drug trafficking, but the police soon trailed Slavens and I was forced into hiding to preserve my freedom, losing the position I had lied my way into. I was now a public enemy. I was like a rat in a kitchen, me the rat and the police - Chefs. I took refuge in Slavens' birthplace, my previous school. I hid in the abandoned building that was left alone 2 years after my own leaving of the school. I had put faith on luck, hoping the police would not guess where I was residing. I had minimized the chances of that by making my hideout a secret of my own. Soon, March came, the month of war. It was truly a fitting time, I was finally discovered. The escape was hard, I rushed to my old classroom, where I first saw Ruth. There, I saw yet another policeman. I had thought I was doomed. It was then I saw the unmistakable sadness in his eyes - Ruth's eyes. He had became a worker of the police force. My very own best friend was putting me in jail. "Why...?" Ruth stuttered, holding his tears in. I merely kept silent, unsure of what to say. He responsed by cuffing my hands to the window grillings, which took no effort to do so as I was not struggling. He then left me, a sign that he refused to arrest his friends. I was left there until the other policemen finally found me. If only I avoided Slavens, if only. Regret filled me up. I knew my time was over,
