[OOC/Sign-Ups] Myriad of a Thousand Worlds - Ashes of War

Notus

Recommended Posts

Welcome to the world of Myriad, brimming with life like no other, for it is the intersection of countless universes. Portals scattered across the land generate a constant flux of life and cultures arriving, departing and changing the world with their presence.

But a world full of life is a world full of conflict.

A long period of wars amongst the many civilizations that inhabit and pass by Myriad has just recently come to an end, but peace is already threatened in the shadows by forces that wish the fighting to rage on. Now the members of the Alliance that has put a stop to it - an improbable group consisting of Angels, Demons, Humans and intelligent Monsters - will have to assemble their best warriors to uncover and stop the plot that threatens not one, but several worlds at once.

Will they be able to overcome their differences and work together for the greater good, or will they break apart and fail miserably?

The fate of a thousand worlds rests upon your hands.

*

Welcome everyone! For those who don´t know me, I´m Notus and I´ll be your host in this journey. Before we get started on how to make your characters, here are a few golden rules to follow when playing this RP.

*

-Respect the other players
Everybody here is just looking for fun. Bullying other people is NOT funny. Anyone disrepecting this rule will be excluded from the RP with no chance of coming back.

-Respect the Mods
Be it me or whoever else is acting as mod, keep in mind that we're using our time to make something entertaining for you.

-No Excessive Violence, Sexual Content and Swearing
Yes, this RP will have fighting and some dark content, but let's try to keep it civilized. Breaking this rule will also cause expulsion from the RP.

-No Bunnying
If you're new to RPs, bunnying is controlling someone else's character, and it's not nice in a bit. If you have to interact with another PC, post your actions and wait for the other player's reaction.

*

In this RP you´ll play as part of a search and destroy team made up of monsters, humans, angels and demons, in an explosive mix of old enemies working together for the first time. It´s more than just stopping the bad guys, it´s about the limits of cooperation and understanding between races. For that, you´ll have to choose between one of the race options listed below, as well as a combat style.

When building your character, keep in mind that they should be somehow linked to the armies of one of the Allied Races, since that´s were the government will be choosing from to form the team.

Races
The most proeminent races of Myriad, who have been stablished in the world longer than others. Due to the nature of Myriad, you´ll have freedom to come up with variations of those, as long as those are not too OP and are approved by the host.

Humans

Humans are the most numerous race in Myriad, having also incorporated several demi-human species in their society (with varying degrees of acceptance). Their strong point, along with sheer numbers, is their intelligence and technology hailing from several different human worlds.and ranging from sword and shield to machine and energy guns.

Angels

Very few and very proud, angels figure among the top mages of Myriad. Therefore, they almost never rely on technology, using magic to do most tasks from every day life matters to near miracles. Physically they´re weaker than even humans, so the few who especialize in close quarters fighting tend to use strenghtening spells to do so.

Demons

Divided in various clans with different characteristics and origins, they´re regarded as ferocious physical fighters with prodigious agility and strenght. Their society is quite war based, so they´re some of the last to join the Allied Races. Some clans have moderate magical skills, using mainly blood and shadow magic. Technology is not much developed due to their focus on close quarters combat, but some do use human guns as backup.

Monstrous Races

The most plural community of Myriad, gathers individuals often classified as "monsters" and not much well liked by other races (sometimes with and sometimes without ground for that). They vary from Flans to Liches, living dead to dragons, werebeasts to vampires and more. Their behavior, combat techniques and technology is just as varied as that.

Classes
The class sistem in this RP, just as the Race sistem, is somewhat loose to let you build your character more freely. Since characters are all members (or former members) of armies, classes are based on the jobs they chose inside it.

Warrior

Experts of close quarters combat, using swords, axes, spears and various other types of weapons. Attributes of warriors include physical strenght, endurance and agility. Demons and members of the Monstrous Races are the prime example of natural warriors.

Sniper

Professionals in the use of long range weapons, from bow and arrows to guns as varied as the cultures that developed them. Humans and Demi-Humans excel in this department and in the use of said weapons.

Mage

Users of the inherent life energy that permeates some worlds. Angels are born with the ability to use it, as well as some Demons and Monsters. Humans have to learn how to use it through various techniques and sometimes with the aid of equipment such as special wands and staffs. There are various vertents of magic, making it´s users dangerous foes

Spy

Masters of stealth, deception and sabotage. They were employed by the armies when there was the need to eliminate one specific target or handle special missions, and use various kinds of weapons. All the Allied Races have examples of deadly spies.

Character Sheet
Pretty instinctive really

Name: .
Race: . You´re not limited by the ones above, but keep in mind you´ll probably have an easier time dealing with your team mates if you do, since even with all their differences, they´re still allies. Go wild.
Race: .
Class: .
Primary Weapon: . Your character´s weapon of preference, and the one they´re most skilled at. It has to be related with the class you chose.
Backup Weapon: . Another weapon you can use effectively, but not as well as your primary one. Mostly guarded for emergency situations.
Appearance: .
Personality Overview: .
Skill Level Overview: . Give us an idea of what your character can and cannot do. That´s specially important for mages, whose power limits tend to be pretty blurred. Try to keep your powers reasonable.
Backstory: . It´s best to give this one lots of thought in order to make a realistic character. You may hail from another world or be a native of Myriad, but you must be linked somehow to one of the Allied Races armies in order to be selected for the team.

Name: Jorgen Von Bashfist

Race: . Cyborg/Human

Class: Warrior

Primary Weapon: When in doubt, heavy metal limbs are great.

Backup Weapon: Custom Spaz-12 shotgun fitted to use armour piercing rounds. After all, what's the point of a shotgun if it has less stopping power than your fists?

Appearance: Almost every visible part of Jorgen is made of a dark grey alloy with the exception of his face which is left looking fairly human. The only robotic portions are his jaw and his mechanical eye. The skin is pale and sickly, indicative of his condition immediately before becoming a cyborg. The top of his head is completely bald. His remaining eye is a forest green colour. The rest of his body is covered in a green tank top, military khakis and military boots. The buckle on his belt has the symbol of a large yellow star. Physically he's built like, well not a brick shit-house but, you know, a giant robotic man. He's big.

Personality Overview: Jorgen didn't come out of his modifications quiiiiiite right. He has a fairly aggressive personality due to a lot of unresolved anger. Aside from one attempt at a yoga class, he hasn't tried to change that and neither have the people overseeing him. His aggression gets him into situations good for testing his capabilities. That said if he decides he likes you, which isn't really hard as he is kind of gullible, then he's likely to kill you with a spine crushing hug. He doesn't do things by halves.

Skill Level Overview: Jorgen's bionic limbs are capable of ridiculous amounts of strength. His legs can reach up to 100 feet with one jump. This length strength transfers into faster speed than normal but if he gets running you will hear it with his weight. He could go higher but doing so risks damage coming down. His arms can lift roughly 400kg and his grip can crush a basketball sized chunk of rock and heavily damage a similar chunk of iron. His robotic eye also affords him help towards visual calculations and enabling precise strikes and movement. He is also incredibly durable, being made mainly of metal. His skull has been reinforced by the same metal as his limbs but it's nowhere near as strong as his limbs. It just means if he has to go through a wall head first, he kinda can. He just shreds the skin which is nasty as hell.

Backstory: James Weissman was a soldier for the Human army during his normal lifetime. He'd always worked towards it with the full knowledge that he'd probably die. He went through training and several tours with that knowledge. It was fine for him because he had the same reason that encouraged a good chunk of the volunteers to fight. He had someone to protect. So he fought with bravery and skill to make sure he did that.

His eight year old brother Alan Weissman waited with his grandparents to see his brothers face again when he returned. Instead, he saw a terrifying face, half metal, half a sickly drawn version of his brother. He had been turned into a cyborg.

It had turned out that James's unit had been hit with a nasty explosive set off remotely by enemy forces. James had been in the rear and so least vulnerable to the blast. It was the only reason he had survived long enough for help to arrive. He had spent ages waiting with his team mates, watching them die one by one as their own injuries took them.

He had been brought back to base in critical condition and a choice had been made. They had the technology.

It had taken some time to return to fight. James refused to go until he reconnected with his brother. After a few months, he came back and he had a new name.

Jorgen Von Bashfist.

((Pretty light on details, I'd rather not outline literally everything here and now))

Name: Raziel, Sage of the North

Race: Angel

Class: Cryomancer (Ice Mage)

Primary Weapon: Magic. Most skilled at ice, water and light.

Backup Weapon: Throwing daggers, spelled for an icy explosion when they hit a target by default, and can be spelled in other ways.

Appearance: A relatively young angel to be working in the field. He looks, for the most part, like a human does, with the exception of wings sprouting from his back. One white and the other slightly darker. Lengthy white hair and piercing blue eyes make him seem fairly attractive to those that meet him, although he usually has no comment on this matter. He is very thin and frail looking, and the light blue and purple robes he wears make him look larger and more intimidating than he actually is. He tends to keep the hood of these robes up, as the majority of the time he'd prefer not to interact with anyone and either get killed or go home at the earliest opportunity.

Personality Overview: Raziel is a rather quiet individual who, quite frankly, doesn't want to be here. He is a powerful sage for one so young in the world of the angels, but he doesn't let it go to his head, and generally keeps a calm demeanor. Unless it comes to matters with other angels and the demons. He tries to associate more with humans and monsters, which is very strange for his kind, although in his eyes he doesn't think the other two races deserve his attention. This, of course, can get him into trouble in an alliance such as this one, and it likely will cause conflicts among he and his allies. He is heavily focused on completing a mission once it begins and will do all in his power to see it done with few casualties (although if these casualties are demons or other angels...he couldn't care less.)

Enjoys reading, flying and eating in his spare time. With all that he eats, he never gets any bigger though. Searching for magical artifacts is also a hobby of his, although in Myriad, he suspects, there won't be very many.

Skill Level Overview:

As an angel, Raziel has the power to fly, and living in the north as he did, his resistance to cold lets him go much higher than most other angels - up to 400-500 feet depending on wind conditions - . Due to his weak constitution however, carrying other people and heavier objects in flight is something he cannot do unless a strengthening spell is cast on him by another person.

His magical abilities are those relating to water and light, and by extension ice.

He can use light to make a flash so bright that it hurts the eyes of anyone in the area that is unprotected. Light also allows him to create illusions, although not very powerful ones. They can be seen through by any mage skilled enough in light to do so, and are generally not very useful if an enemy mage is among the forces he's trying to distract with them. These illusions can allow him to become invisible to the naked eye, although a mage of any skill can likely still see him. Creating barriers of light - and to a lesser extent ice - are also within his talents, however he must be concentrating for the more powerful of the two (light) to be maintained, while the lesser can be broken through with brute force and needs no concentration. Light also produces heat, which can also be used to hurt and blind enemies in various ways.

His abilities with water allow him to manipulate relatively contained water sources, and freeze or heat them at will. This allows for many different ways that water can be used as a weapon, although generally freezing it into sharp objects and hurling them at foes is his preferred way. Moving large bodies of water with his magic is also possible, but it takes concentration and also a long time. Smaller bodies of water like a part of a river he can move easily. Freezing enemies in place is also within his abilities, although this only lasts for a short amount of time if they know how to break it. Mages cannot be frozen unless they are taken unawares, although this generally leaves a good opportunity for his allies to deal with it while it's alone. He can also create armor with great precision in the same manner as projectiles and shields. This armor is unusable if he is wearing anything other than his robes and has a (heh) cool down period before he can use it again. It can be broken, although it will take a few hits from most things. Melts when struck with fire.

One of his most powerful abilities is manipulating the water in the bloodstream...assuming the creature in question has water in their bloodstream. This allows him to essentially take control of the insides of whatever is being manipulated. Ending their life is easy, and using them as a puppet is also possible. This requires an immense amount of concentration, and also a long ritual. He doesn't like doing this and will try to avoid it at all costs.

The combination of water and light magics allow him to be a potent healer - one of the best the angels, and by extension the army, have - but he must be concentrated and protected in order for it to work. This generally doesn't take long, although the reverse of healing can also be done. If for whatever reason he needs to, ending a wounded persons life is as easy as reversing the weaves that would in an ordinary case save them.

He cannot, however, cast healing on himself.

The daggers he uses are fairly standard silver, and can be spelled in a variety of ways for interesting effects on targets. They don't hit very hard with his weak constitution, but if they stick in someone they are going to wish they had.

Backstory:

Raziel had always been fascinated with magic from a young age. Light and Water were the most beautiful forms, and he learned all he could on them. As it turns out, he was a natural, and quickly rose through the ranks to become a High Mage. As a High Mage, one of his duties was to lead a squadron of other mages that shared his abilities (although to a lesser extent) into battle, should the need arise.

The need quickly arose, and soon he led a campaign against the demons. Victory after victory his squadron won, until eventually, the war had ended. He was soon promoted to the title of Sage, and was posted in the far north reaches of the continent, where he retired from battle.

He began to refuse any summons to fight for the Angels. He was finished. He no longer wanted to kill, and wanted to spend his days as a healer.

It was here that the demons found him only a year later, come to avenge their fallen friends.

They had somehow infiltrated the Angel's world. Fighting them alone left them dead, but him severely wounded. It took days for anyone to find him, and due to how magic works, he couldn't just heal himself.

Unconscious, but still alive, a member of his squadron came upon him and brought him in for healing. He awoke during the process several times, and he was sure that nobody had noticed.

During these few moments he was awake, one of the healers said something that shocked him. The man he had displaced as the Sage of the North had done this, invited them in, and left him for dead. Angry at his quick rise to success, he was sure.

Eventually, life returned to normal. His hatred for the sage never ended, but something else was wrong. He continued to get more sick and frail rather than better after the healing. One of his wings began changing slowly, darker and darker.

He went to the Archsage for advice, and it turns out that he had contracted some kind of sickness from the demon that had landed the final blow on him during the fight.

The only man that could heal this, said the Archsage, was the old Sage of the North. This enraged him, but eventually he went. He knew that if he did not, he would die. The Sage claimed that he would only heal him if he joined in an alliance of his devising under the Arcsage's orders "for the good of the world". He was one of their most powerful mages, after all.

So out of retirement he came. He knew it was the only way to stay alive. But after he was healed...he was going to make that Sage's life a living hell. The Archsage's wouldn't be much better. "For the good of their world"

(Tried to keep everything balanced by giving drawbacks like concentration for the more powerful spells. Let me know if anything needs changed.)

Name: Bargus

Race: Demon

Class: Pyrofiend (Warrior)

Primary Weapon: Gemini Stars, a dangerous and heavy two-sided axe made of an especially strong metal alloy, with the handle colored vermilion. By default, it's combined with Flametongue to let it catch fire, looking like a wheel of flames when spun. The axe is designed to cut open armor with ease.

Backup Weapon: Flametongue, the ability to breath fire. Fire may be shot out from the mouth in different variations, such as a long-ranged fireball or a short-ranged fire breath.

Appearance: Bargus, like other Demons, sports a pair of horns and wings, with his skin in dark red. He's much larger and heavier than the average human, about twice as big as a human. He dons light armor with over his torso and thighs.

Personality Overview: Bargus is incredibly prideful and arrogant, but with good reasons. He performed extraordinarily in the Angels' final push against the Demon territory. He enjoys battling, and would laugh as he hacks and slashes through his enemies. However, beneath the crazed laughter, he thinks clearly and logically, never letting himself fall into insanity.

Skill Level Overview: Bargus has amazing physical strength, allowing him to break through boulders with ease, and flail his Gemini Stars swiftly one-handed. Flametongue allows him to breath fire over 1600 degrees Celsius (Melting iron!). Being a trained Pyrofiend, his skin is resistant to energy-based attacks and heat. He can swim in magma as well, albeit only for 10 minutes at best. He's capable of jumping 5 meters up in the air and sprinting at 15 m/s. His naturally high body temperature allows him to endure cold as well. His skin, however, is only slightly stronger than a human's, so he is vulnerable to piercing rounds, arrows and other blunt weaponry.

Backstory: Born in the age of war, he was a proud and talented warrior of the Demon race, he assisted in defending Demon territory, and repelled many of the Angels' assault. However, before that, he refused to fight in the front lines, as he had strongly disagreed with the reason for war. The higher-ups decided to put him in charge of the defenses in home territory instead. After the war had ended, many conspirators urged other Demons to war, seeking vengeance over the Angels. Bargus, however, was against the idea of "war for vengeance" and refused their offers countless times. In the end, he decided to left the Demon territories in exile. When the words of the Alliance reached his ears, he gladly went to join them, with the hopes of eliminating the strife the conspirators have made.

Nice to have you guys aboard! Dobby, Jorgen is ok to go and I´m eager to see him in action!

Krim and IntSys, I just have some considerations about your characters. Most important is to avoid having them on high rank positions, as I already have a government system and characters devised for that.

On Raziel´s case, I don´t know how much influence the position of Sage of the North would give him, and that might get trouble later on, so I´ll have to ask you to scratch that or maybe make it into a not too important role.

Same thing goes to Bargus. I already have the ones who forged the Alliance as NPCs. Bargus could perhaps have contributed on a smaller scale as a local leader though. Also, his feats are a bit too big: although it is expected pf your characters to have distinguished themselves on the battlefield, saying that he basically stopped a war by himself is a bit too much, specially knowing that the other people in Myriad can get really powerfull as well. Try to tone it down a little and maybe add some weaknesses.

Other than those modifications you´re both also good to go and look like promising characters!

Debating on whether i want to go with an ooooooold character idea of mine, which is basically a teleport-spamming blade dancer type character, or a guy who's perfectly nice except for the fact that he's a vampire and goes feral if he gets hungry

Name: Gabriel Ardelean

Race: Vampire (Originally half-elf.)

Class: Spy

Primary Weapon: Knives weighted for throwing.

Backup Weapon: A set of savage claws along with sheer brute strength. Actually more damaging and generally effective than knives, but he doesn't use these abilities unless pressed.

Appearance: A boy looking about 10 or 12 with pale skin. His ears are noticeably pointed, recalling elven ancestry. His hair is a moderately short length and somewhat messy, though not in a way that makes him appear disheveled or unkempt, and it's topped with a white hat. He wears a quality white collared shirt and neckerchief, with brown suspended shorts. He usually wears a pair of loafers and brown socks. He almost always carries a parasol or umbrella. He also possesses a pair of small bat-like wings that he keeps hidden beneath his clothing, and if one looks closely he has small fangs - this has caused him to develop a minor habit of covering his mouth or looking away when he speaks to someone, which occasionally makes him appear a bit effeminate.

Personality Overview: Elegant and far more mature than he appears. He is amiable enough to speak with but doesn't often seek out conversations. Has a strong sense of honor and morality. However, in battle, he shows a different side, bloodthirsty and almost sadistic, though he despises this part of himself.

Skill Level Overview: Gabriel is possessed of incredible strength, speed, and durability at all times, though nothing that would be out of reach for a human or demihuman in peak condition - though it still jars with his childlike body. He's also quite proficient in knife throwing, given that he's had a few hundred years to practice. He also knows some minor healing magic; not enough to keep you alive indefinitely, but it will help shrug off minor wounds and such. Still, he'll likely lag behind dedicated combatants under normal conditions, and will smolder in direct sunlight, though this is not enough to cause permanent damage. However, he can tap into his vampiric strength at increasing intensities, which at first will cause his eyes to glow and his fangs to become more pronounced, and then will gradually cause his entire body to bulge and enlarge, and begin appearing savage and bestial, gaining massively increased power at the cost of making it difficult for him to control his bloodlust and increasing his sensitivity to sunlight to a degree. He will also involuntarily enter such a state if he goes for long enough without consuming a living being. Said consumption ranges from the classic draining of some amount of blood from the victim to outright dismembering them and absorbing their lifeforce through the process.

Backstory:

Gabriel was a fairly unremarkable child of a elven nobleman and his human mistress. Though this technically made him a bastard child, his father was a good man in a good country, so his life was not particularly affected by this fact. The Ardeleans were one of those small, proud houses that had been around since before the plans for dirt were being drafted, and they brought their children up fittingly, teaching them war and peace by turns. Gabriel was never quite suited to the former, though, and he focused more on the arts and the subtleties of court intrigue rather than how to swing a blade or deflect a spear, which his older siblings took to naturally.

On a night like any other, however, his almost idyllic lifestyle met a shocking interlude. Screams of pain and vicious laughter echoed through the halls. His siblings fought bravely, but most were overwhelmed and either killed on the spot or succumbed to grievous wounds in the days afterward. The only one to escape unscathed was his older sister, who surprisingly had turned out to be the strongest and most skilled warrior among the siblings. She saved his life, rushing in and felling a vampire that had assaulted Gabriel while he hid in his room after it tore through the guardsmen. Though the boy was severely injured, he did recover after weeks of bedrest and careful attendance by the surviving staff members of the mansion and his sister, his father also visiting on occasion despite his preoccupation with attempting to get the house itself to recover from the attack, however.

While his experience had left no visible scars, it did leave a mark of a different kind entirely. His appetite seemed to have vanished, only being able to keep down small amounts of food and drink despite his age. He kept inside more and more - the sun seemed to be harsh and cruel, and he was afraid to go into the outside world from which his assailants had come. And he always felt. . . hungry. Hungrier and hungrier, despite being nearly unable to eat. One day, a shriek was heard from his room, a shriek cruelly cut short in a manner that caused his beloved sister to rush in, arms and armor at the ready. He cowered in the corner, curled up and trying not to look at what remained of the maid that had attempted to bring him medicine that was supposed to help with his difficulties eating. The gnawing feeling inside him was gone, replaced with a terrible awareness of the true injury he had suffered that fateful night.

He left almost immediately, with few words exchanged between him and his sister before he slunk away. It was announced that another one of the fell creatures had laid in wait, and ambushed Gabriel and his maid when it saw the chance before escaping. The boy's funeral was held a week afterward, as he grieved in the distance before turning his back on his home forever. He stole through Myriad, traveling by night and sating his hunger on livestock every few days when he could, wandering aimlessly, lost in his shame and grief. Eventually, he resolved that he would find a solution, an end to his curse, and started to search through libraries and universities, consulting anyone who was willing to risk speaking with him in an effort to return to his normal life. It took decades for him to finally admit defeat, as the wells of arcane knowledge had come up dry; there was no cure beyond the sword.

When war broke out, he fought on the side of humans. He revealed himself to a select few trusted individuals who in turn notified the higher command of what Gabriel could offer: making use of his curse and unassuming appearance to infiltrate enemy forces, gather critical information, and, when necessary, sate his hunger with important targets. Now that the wars have ended, the Alliance continues to make use of his unique talents, as Gabriel continues to hope that some day he may be reunited with his surviving family in a manner that is safe for them all. . .

Gotcha. The idea was just to give him somewhere he could retire to after his initial fights and I felt like the north fit pretty well.

It doesn't really give him any influence since nobody actually lives there. The title of sage was more something he was given for his prestige in battle than an actual title with benefits.

Name: Jarvis Masterson

Race: Human (Pure)

Class: Kingsman (Spy)

Primary Weapon: An umbrella fitted with multiple different gadgets including a laser rifle in the main shaft, the ability to reflect energy weapons and block physical projectiles with the parasol, an extendable handle that allows it to be used as a grappling hook, and more.

Secondary Weapon: A lightsaber in the shape of a rapier. The handle is a traditional basket grip with an intricately designed cover piece that is carried on the hip. When activated, it produces a beam of white lightsaber-like energy.

Appearance: 37 years old. 5'11", 165 lbs. Blue eyes, dark brown hair, pencil moustache. He has high cheekbones and a narrow, chiseled jaw that give him a noble air. A gentleman through and through, Jarvis is most often found in the typical waistcoat and trousers of a Victorian Englishman. However, during missions he eschews the waistcoat in favor of simply a black vest and collared shirt. He is obviously muscled with a wiry frame. He always carries his umbrella, and his lightrapier can be found on his left hip.

Personality Overview: Jarvis is upper crust, high society, and extremely dignified. He is incredibly loyal to whomever he follows, often rigidly following commands and reprimanding others who fail to do the same. Raised mostly by his butler, he has a strict view of etiquette in general. However, he understands that not everyone can be the same as he is and does his best to accommodate others. Even when he is angry, it is difficult to read Jarvis. His poker face is that of a trained diplomat. Due to his upbringing and worldview, he gets along best with pure humans and angels. Although he has trust issues when it comes to demons and monstrous beings, he is willing to work with and befriend them provided they are able to prove themselves worthy of his confidence. He tends to be very perceptive, his eyes and ears always evaluating situations he thinks may develop poorly.

Skill Level Overview: A trained assassin, Jarvis is a master with both his umbrella and his lightrapier. His fighting style is rigid to watch but often improvisational in practice. He is a world-class close range combatant, having mastered the arts of Wing Chun, Wushu, and fencing. He can be expected to hold his own against very strong opponents in one-on-one situations, however because he does not wear armor he can be overwhelmed by large groups of enemies at close range.

Backstory: Born into the noble Masterson family and raised mostly by his butler, Jarvis is first and foremost a gentleman. His father a diplomat and his mother away often, he takes more after the butler, Jeremy, than anyone else. Because of this, at a young age he learned the Masterson family's greatest secret: that the business his family's fortune was built on was personal protection. The war-torn world had been kind to those who were able to adapt, especially with the abundance of political killings that conflicts like this tended to involve. The Masterson butlers were quite often the most prominent students of the Masterson Academy, boasting intense martial arts training and years of experience in the field. As such, being raised by Jeremy was not easy for a child. Daily training sessions with his masters and a rigid schooling schedule left little time for young Jarvis to make friends, especially given his fathers strict instructions to Jeremy that no one outside the Masterson Family (butlers included) be permitted in the estate while he was away.

As he grew older he decided that after nearly two decades of being at home, it was time to see the world. He began to travel, finding work as a bodyguard where he could but always remembering where he came from. When he eventually grew homesick and went back to visit, he was informed that Jeremy had left the Masterson family for "personal reasons." Now he is in between jobs, currently traveling in an attempt to track down Jeremy and ask his father figure what had prompted his departure.

So, this is my very first time role-playing, so here goes. Please let me know if I did anything wrong.

Name: Misara Vorera (this is her full name, you can just call her Misara)

Race: Cambion (Half-Demon)
Class: Warrior
Primary Weapon: Demon Sword. The Demon Sword can also act according to her heart and emotions. For example, if she accidentally stabs someone she doesn't want to, the Demon Sword will not stab to the point of death
Backup Weapon: She has small daggers/knives that she can use as projectiles or in melee combat
Personality Overview: She is extremely cold-hearted to anybody, especially humans. However, for some reason, she starts to want to learn about humans, but she still acts cold toward them telling them that she doesn't really care whether they follow her or not, whether they like her or not. She will show no mercy to her opponents and will not hesitate to kill if necessary. She also acts calm even though the opponent looks very strong and even though she knows she'll lose, she still acts calm. During her spare time, she likes to train and hone her skills. Yes, that includes hunting for food, if she's asked to do it. However, once she joins the alliance, she slowly and little by little starts to interact with her allies and hanging out with them, whether it's an individual person or just all of them. She also loves to fight, so if she likes someone or makes a friend, she may ask for a sparing match.
Skill Overview: She has combat experience where she can fight with her demon sword and she can aim small knives/daggers at you. She even has close combat and hand to hand combat experience. However, she does have weaknesses. Her first weakness is that if she is stabbed by someone she loves, which can be a human or if she is stabbed by another demon or an angel, she cannot heal and could die. Her second weakness is that if a loved one dies at the hands of her enemy, she will go insane. She will pretty much lose her sanity and turn into a full-demon. Pretty much a monster who goes on a rampage and is out of control, which means she could kill her allies. Her third weakness is that if she sees someone that looks familiar to her (like the half-demon that she thought), she will panic and will be unable to move. Pretty much PTSD.
Backstory: Misara was living a normal life. Going to school, hanging out with friends......A demon comes to her town. It is said that once a year, a demon comes into her town and takes one woman in exchange that the village will be safe. The woman that come with the demon never come back. It is also said that the chosen woman are to be concubines or his fiancée. This year, she is chosen to go with the demon. Everything she had is gone, including her happiness. She now has to live a life where she is married to a monster. She was not going to take it anymore. She has now decided to end her life. The demon then finds out what she is up to and fights her. Unknown to her, he also burns her village and kills everyone. She now has to fight until she is pushed out of a window and falls from a two-story building. She knew and thought she was dead, but only wakes up in the darkness of the Underworld. She learns from a voice that she has been chosen to rule the Underworld. At last, she transforms into a demon, more like a half-demon since she still has her human form for now. She is also being given a demon sword in the Underworld The only thing that changes are the fact that she has demon eyes and arms. After that, she goes back to the human world and gets revenge on the demon.
Now, she does not know this herself, which is why she goes on a journey in hopes of finding answers about herself while also killing her enemies in dreams of ruling the entire world. This information is unknown to her, but since you wanted a backstory, I guess I should go more into details: her father was a demon and her mother was human. It is also revealed that her father was a higher ranked demon in the Underworld, however, she does not know that. However, when they gave birth to her, they discovered that she was only human. Her father said that it's possible that her demon powers have not awakened yet. We do not know what happened to her mother. However, it is rumored that her father was killed by someone. But, we do know that they abandoned her to the village that she was at. The information on her foster parents are unknown. It's also revealed that when she transformed, she may have been struck with amnesia meaning that she does not remember some things about her past or herself.
After the half-demon's defeat, she learns that her village has been burned down. She then goes on a journey in hopes of finding who she is and with the goal of ruling the entire world. She eventually comes across the alliance and learn about the war and why the alliance is formed. She then decides to join the alliance as she believes it may help her find the answers that she's looking for.
So, I'm gonna tweak/polish the storyline a bit when I can, but for now, this is what I got and I hope I can join.

Just as a thought, is it possible for hybrids of either race or class to occur, such as a Warrior incorporating a minimal amount of magic? That said, my idea of a hybrid has its capabilities lacking/not on par with pure classes in mind, but a not-so-complex mix of the two.

Sorry guys, I had to travel for a race on friday and my modem didn´t work on the town I was in. Ansering in order:

Murdoc: Really nice character mate, you´re in! I was waiting for the firt character from the Monstrous Races to show up, and that´s a great one.

Jory: Jarvis is in as well! How could I turn down a lightsaber wielder? May the force be with him XD.

Cool Girl: Welcome, and if you need any help starting on RPs just throw a pm to me ;) . There are also guides by Hukuna and others pinned on the forum, those are quite useful!
So, about your character. Myriad doesn´t actually have a known "Underworld", and if you´re speaking about a demon community than that´s a no. No characters here are the chosen ones who´ll rule the world (At least not yet. Who knows?) so two options. You can either tone it down a bit, or have this whole backstory happen in another world and after that she stumbled on a portal and arrived in Myriad. Also, could you that you explain how is she linked to any of the Allied Races´ armies? Other than that, pretty nice character, balanced and with interesting weaknesses.

Sutoratsu: Heeeeey Strat, it´s great to have you onboard mate!!! I can´t wait to see what you´ll play this time.

YagamiNoir: No problem at all, that´s just their specialization. As long as they keep balanced, I´m ok with it.

Welp, might as well put up the Sheet now; reserve a spot.

WIP SHEET

Name: Lutrin Holtes

Race: Were-otter (Monster) (Animal Species: Giant Otter)

Class: Soldier (Warrior/Sniper Hybrid)

Primary Weapons: A set of paired curve-hilted Lightsabers. One of them is neon orange, and the other one is dark blue. Both of them are constructed with lightsaber-resistant material for the handles, which both contain a 20-degree bend, and can be combined to create a saber-staff. (Think of something kind of like Asajj Ventress' paired sabers, if you've seen the Clone Wars.)

Backup Weapons: A Type-III Phaser Rifle

Appearance: In his Human form, he has chocolate-brown hair, a caucasian complexion, a small roman nose, blue eyes with streaks of brown in them, and is 5'6" tall.

Appearance (Otter Form) : In his Otter Form, he's mostly like any other Giant Otter, but there are a few distinguishing characteristics about his animal form: Firstly, his eyes are the same as in his human form, rather than the normal brown. Secondly, his cream-colored individual-unique neck markings are shaped like thunderbolts.

Personality Overview: He's generally cool-headed, calm, and collected, but he can kind of go a bit over-the-top when in battle.

Skill Level Overview: .

Backstory: .
