Well, with the glitch thing. I agree it is breaking but it is also bad. It only stop grab characters like dank pit, Luigi fox. It is undone by shielding again. Off topic but in my doubles tournament, I got third. Despite the fact I had a pick-up partner.

It also affects command-grabs, so Bowser, Kirby, Wario, Dedede, Mewtwo, Robin, Ganondorf and Lucario also suffer greatly as a result.

Bowser and Ganon you mean? Those characters don't rely on command grabs nearly as much.

Posted

Nah, they don't. I was just naming off all the ones I could think of.

the characters you missed on command grabs are robin diddy and yoshi, not that diddy's matters

I probably forgot about Yoshi's because it's, like, never used in competitive.

,,,idk what games you be watching but people basically spam his b-reverse command grab

Yoshi's Command Grab is considered the best command grab in the game. I personally don't use it too often because Nair is all you need when you Yoshi. But some higher level Yoshis practice what DD said. Reverse Nom Nom.

And we all know how fun of a game melee is... Cough cheat dashing, fun canceling and 8 tournament viable characters cough

Implying deeper mechanics make a game bad.

Honestly, this is a discussion for a different place, but 2/3 things you named were known mechanics of the game (Wavedashing being known of before release and L-Cancelling being an intended feature, both of which I miss very much, as the lack of L-Cancelling absolutely crushes the viability of some characters while raising that of others tremendously in Sm4sh.)

On topic, I haven't updated Sm4sh in forever, so I haven't tried the new shield stun for myself, but shields honestly did need a nerf in my opinion. Sm4sh was a game where connecting almost any aerial and most grounded attacks against a shield resulted in a free hit/grab for the opponent (Sometimes even a smash depending on the MU and move choice), which is ridiculous considering how easy shielding is. There were only a few moves/characters with these moves that were exceptions to this rule, most of which became top tiers at least partially because they had safe moves on shield (Shiek and ZSS for example). From what people are saying though, it does seem like they may have gone a bit too far with the nerf. I'll have to try it myself at some point.

I don't really notice the change but all the professional smashers seem happy about it, but I tended to be that guy to be really defensive with shielding

It doesn't affect ZSS as much. The stuff that was already safe didn't exactly become that much safer since ground moves either don't really do much damage or leave her wide open.

Sheik though...

Lotsa rumors floating around about potential character announcements coming soon. Like real soon. The rumor says it will be "first party and obvious". I am putting my money on the either Wolf or the Squid Kids.

I'm still hoping for the return of the Ice Climbers. Bring them back... :(

I feel like nowadays, they might not be considered "obvious" though.

RPGrinder leak? Wouldn't place money on it, dude has been known to be wrong before.

Sakurai has already said that his team can't get them to work on the 3DS and that they were committed to keeping the roster the same across both versions. They'll likely be included in the next iteration of Smash, but not this one.

Well dang. I didn't know that. Hopefully they'll make a return in future games as you say though. Thanks for the info!

Watch out, the man's gonna be crushing tournies now

To be fair, D-Throw to U-tilt wasn't a thing in Brawl or PM, in both of which ESAM mained Pikachu, so it's just one of many adjustments that even top players are yet still making to the game that is barely than a year old (less than a year in Wii U's case). On the other hand (this would be more like classic ESAM) he might have already known it was a thing, he just didn't think of how viable it was compared to other options out of D-throw.

Yeah maybe that. But seriously, the tweet he said of it. I was like, oh my- seriously XD

But yeah, now he can know more stuff lol.

D Throw into to up tilt was one of the first things I figured out when playing with the character... so no excuses Shanco. Esam may have been trolling.
