Power Vest: Increases the holder's Defense stay by 50%, but they can only use attacking moves (it's a physical Assault Vest).

Dragon Ball: Increases the catch rate of Dragon-type Pokemon to 4X.

Old Amber (battle effect): Increases the Attack and Defense of Pokemon that can be revived from fossils by 50%.

Ultimate Flower: An item to be held by Grass-type Pokemon. Through the power of photosynthesis, it restores 1 / 16 of their health after every turn. If held by a Pokemon who is not part Grass, it will do nothing (A Grass-type Leftovers).

Life Scarf: Consumes HP after every move, and boosts the holder's speed. (Life orb, but speed.)

Sleep Orb: Causes the user to fall asleep if not inflicted with another status condition.

Flame Suit: Reduces damage from by fire type attacks by half, and prevents burning.

Thermal Suit: Reduces damage from ice type attacks by half, and prevents freezing.

Rubber Suit: Reduces damage from electric attacks by half, and prevents paralysis.

Fluffy vest- defence version of AV ^-^

Heart stealer-holder deals double damage to opponets in love

Diamond mirror-it's a special version of rocky helmet

Pixie wings-powers up fairy moves for 20%

Spooky Spoons-raises special attack for 1.5 if holder is a psychic type

Strong Band-raises attack for 1.5 if holder is a fighting type

Rocky Shell-raises defence for 1.5 if holder is a rock type

Ectoplasm-raises speed for 1.5 if holder is a ghost type

Microphone - sound based attacks do 1.5x more damage

Gold Chainmail - Increases defense and sp. def of the holder by 1.5

Silver Chainmail - Increases Attack and Sp. Atk of the holder by 1.5

Going to make some based on the Shovel Knight armor sets cause bored.

Dynamo Plate: After 2 hits, next attack is a guaranteed Critical Hit (doesn't work with Multi-hit moves.)

Final Guard: If under 30% life Defense and Special Defense are increased by 1.5x . When above this threshold bonuses are lost.

Momentum Mail: If you make an attack this turn, increase your speed one stage. If hit by ANY damage revert back to base speed.

Ornate Plate: reduces enemy accuracy by 20%

Stalwart Plate: Physical version of Assault Vest.

Conjurer's Coat: At the end of the turn, increase your Special Attack by 1 stage, but lower your Defense by 1.

I'll bite. First I'll start with some story given "passives"..they shouldn't be too excessive buffs, and they leave your item slot empty. Ideally, the largest effect these passives should visibly have is on PP of moves.

Dodge Ribbon - slightly boosts evasion - earned after beating 1st Gym leader

Continue Ribbon - slightly boosts PP of a selected move by 1 - earned after beating the 2nd Gym leader

Nullify Ribbon - slightly boosts the chance moves fail to affect the holder - earned after beating the 3rd Gym leader

Full Ribbon - slightly boosts user's HP - earned after beating the 4th gym leader

Fortify Ribbon - slightly boosts user's Defense -and- Special Defense - earned after beating the 5th gym leader

Armed Ribbon - slightly boosts user's Attack -and- Special Attack - earned after beating the 6th gym leader

Dash Ribbon - slightly boosts user's Speed - earned after beating the 7th gym leader

Reload Ribbon - slightly boosts the PP of all moves a user has by 1 - earned after beating the 8th gym leader

Intimidation Ribbon - slightly increases the chance of flinching moves to flinch the target - earned after becoming the Pokemon League Champion.

Randomizer- At the start of battle one stat is raised 3 stages while one stat is lowered a stage. In the case of HP it is raised 30 points or lowered 10.

Gigas Rings- The pokemon receives the slow start ability but after the five turns atk, sp.atk and speed are doubled. (No effect on Legendary Mineral pokemon)

Edit: I like the Ribbon Idea and the Nullify Ribbon would be awesome but lowering accuracy of I assume status moves that early would be a little too advantageous.

I tried to go out of my way to insinuate that these would be passives and would not be very noticeable. The effects should feel more like spurts of luck than a regular occurrence.
