  1. This happens only with JoiPlay and even on 19.16, so it must be a bug with JoiPlay itself. Many animated tiles just do not appear in the overworld (other than these glowing crystals-- Aventurine Woods lulling flowers, flowing lava, waterfalls, etc.). But the events still work the same, so you actually can still interact with the crystals. E.g., from where you are, try going on all the tiles nearby and there will be an impassable tile, that's the crystal. I'd recommend looking at a walkthrough of Iolia Valley if you don't remember the positions of the crystals (they haven't changed at all from E18 if that helps)

  2. As I said, I'm pretty sure it doesn't count in this case. If Palossand was sent out after the Solrock was KO'd, it took Stealth Rock damage before Turn 2. Having taken damage 'this' turn means having taken damage after you locked in your move. E.g., if the opposing Pokemon is faster than yours and hits itself in confusion, or takes recoil, or is hit by another Pokemon in a double battle, or switches (makes a pivot) into another Pokemon that takes Stealth Rock damage as it switches in; then Assurance would do double damage

I tried searching everywhere morning, day and night in game and they were not there like they were in previous episodes.

I ended up moving on and concluding that the Unova fossils were simply moved to post Fly since Archeops sweeps a couple gyms before then. I swept Charlotte back in E18 with the prankster Meowstic rain dance and Archeops combo and I think even Eclipse and Aster were swiss cheese with Rock Slide Archeops on the field. So it really would be for the best if they were moved up.

No, they are still available before Serra. You have to talk to them in the museum (they were there the first time I went there, and in the morning too, so I guess they appear at all times of the day now), then fight them in Tanzan Mountain, then receive the fossil from the NPC in the museum. So same as E18

Edit: Oh also they disappear after the Tanzan base raid, if that's when you tried to find them

  4. Yes, I'm pretty sure you can get all the lore by doing the 1.3 playthroughs as you mentioned (which means splitting at the end of main game and having to redo only the postgame).

I also know that if you're friends with people at the end of the game they appear in some postgame stuff.

The 'stuff' that they appear in is the character endings, which are little cutscenes that play during the credits and show you what each character is going to be doing in the near future after you're done with the game. You can just look up a video on YouTube that shows all of them to see the ones you didn't get. So I wouldn't really worry about relationship points, but if you still want to try to get as many as you can, this guide might be helpful:

I've read that dead characters won't appear in that postgame event, so is there someone who stays dead in both paths?

No, any character that stays dead in both paths does not have a character ending. And iirc, there are no character deaths exclusive to either the Lin or the Anna route, except

    Spoiler

Lin herself in the Anna route.

Please replace Charlotte's with something that isn't Megalovania lol

Charlotte has had that theme since way before. I'll think about it, but in the meantime, if you have an alternate track, you can go to the files and replace 'CBattle- Pyromania.ogg' with your file of the same name and it'll work

I'd been under the impression that they worked to actually make it run better on lower-end PCs than the previous versions, but I guess I could be mistaken.

Yes, but the absence of the Game.exe that ran on the old engine means that it can't run on 32-bit computers anymore, which I'm assuming is the problem here (the Game.exe in E19 is the Game-z.exe from E18 if I understand correctly)

  7. That quest is on renovated Azurine Island. If you clear all the Foongus and Amoonguss (disguised as Pokeballs) on the island, a ranger NPC standing in the eastern part of the island will give it to you. Rocky Helmets are also available on Dept. Store 11F btw

  8. Looking at the scripts it seems the only form of Pumpkaboo and Gourgeist in the game is 'Small'. The base stats are [44 HP, 66 Atk, 70 Def, 56 Speed, 44 SpA, 55 SpD] for Pumpkaboo and [55 HP, 85 Atk, 122 Def, 99 Speed, 58 SpA, 75 SpD] for Gourgeist. I do not know if it was the same in E18

Question of my own: From what I have been gathering there seems to be two possible Reshiram endings, what is the deciding factor between them?

You mean the postgame endings? In the Anna route (I assume that's what you mean by Reshiram), at the very end, Anna asks you something and depending on your answer there are 2 endings for her. In the Lin route too there are 2 endings depending on an action choice at the very end.

EDIT: Ignore that, I think I know what you mean now.

    Spoiler

I learned this just now too. The Reshiram Determination route is where you defeat Solaris on Pyrous Mountain and choose the Reshiram route, but otherwise stay on the Lin route for postgame.

  10. I have only completed the postgame on the Lin route, but from looking around it seems the overall difference in the Anna route is that

    Spoiler

because of some specific choices by the player, through some kind of butterfly effect, Lin doesn't try to kill them at the end. And so, instead of Lin bringing people back in the postgame, she has to die and Anna brings the same people back instead.

In that case, not only is the Anna route not the 'better' route, but it also isn't really a 'true ending' imo. Sure, it has some extra lore, but it is very little relative to the size of the game. For a very rough analogy, in Undertale,

    Spoiler

the Genocide route reveals some lore that is definitely relevant to the story, but is not needed to understand and does not invalidate the other routes.

  11. Yes, you should definitely get Fake Out on Zoroark. I'd say replace Low Sweep for it. It will help in the second double battle too. And don't get rid of Flash Cannon on Eelektross, it's boosted 2x on the Factory Field.

If I'm finally starting to wrap my head around all this, I think I should use one booster on Volcarona's Special Attack, the other on Zoroark's Special Attack, and the Tuner on Delphox to switch its Physical and Special Attack EVs.

Sounds good, but you'll have to use the EV-reducing berries to get rid of EVs in less helpful stats (because there is a limit on total EVs). Also you should buy the Power Items from the Dept. Store. They have been buffed, so training from 0 to 252 EVs only takes 5 minutes when you make your Pokemon hold them.

You can get some pretty good held items at this point too btw. Some of them require completing quests which I wouldn't tell you do right now, but you can get a Life Orb in Celestinine Mountain (going from the North Aventurine Woods entrance) now that you have Rock Climb. (Also I'm kinda surprised you don't have a Mega on your team?)

Also just in case you didn't know, all of your non-fainted Pokemon are fully healed after the second battle.

  12. Just wanted to drop in and say, don't be disheartened because you're stuck at a fight! All of the things you're learning and the preparations you're making will make your life easier for the rest of the game, trust me.

So if I'm understanding this right, most of my pokemon's EV/IV stats are more weighted towards physical attacks. Does that mean I should make them all physical attackers, or do I need to look at their actual stats for each to figure that out?

So yes you should look at what the base stats of your Pokemon are. EVs and Natures are only supposed to boost your useful stats by a little. For an obvious example, Delphox has 69 base Attack and 114 base Special Attack, so its Special Attack is always going to be stronger, and so it is always better to invest there. A lot of the time you can tell just by looking at the Pokemon, but otherwise I find the quickest way to check stats to be to look up the Pokemon on https://pokemondb.net.

You can reduce EVs in the wrong stat by using EV-reducing berries on your Pokemon (sold on Dept. Store 2F), and train EVs by KOing Pokemon while holding a Power Item (sold on Dept. Store 4F). Also, the nature changer in 7th Street requires only 2 Heart Scales for each Pokemon now.

  13. What you're seeing is one single Rock Climb path. You can't reach it because the bridge you're standing on is distant from the mountain wall behind you. Just keep going through Victory Road, you'll get to it later. It's not even for a spirit iirc

..actually, turns out that what I thought would work doesn't. I've downloaded the PBS files, put them in a folder called PBS in the main directory, and I edited the pokemon.txt file there. Then I opened the game.exe with debug on, and told it to compile all data. After it was done, I reset the game and... no changes visible. Someone named karvanha said, in a topic called "How to Mod E19" by Feng Lei, that this was the method for editing player battles, and I figured that the base stats for pokemon would be edited in the same way, since it, too, was a part of these PBS files.

Did you close the game and reopen it? Pressing F12 to reset doesn't reload all of the data because it is cached I think
