I just recently started episode 19, on an older save file, but it's been a while. I talked to Serra in Calcenon city, she mentions meteor grunts in Agate, but I can't seem to find her. Anyone know where I go from here?

Enter Agate City from the Route 1 entrance

  2. If you only need to change the teams, it should be pretty straightforward.

You'll need the PBS files for the game which are available here. Put the PBS folder (the folder inside the .zip) in your Reborn folder, where you find Game.exe. Inside the PBS folder, you'll find the file trainers.txt. It's just a text file, you can open and edit it with any text editor. You'll have to find in it the exact teams which you want to change (the main game E4 teams start at line 1194), make the desired changes and save it. (Btw, you might have to spend some time figuring out what's what in the file, but it shouldn't be too difficult.)

Then you have to compile the trainers.txt PBS file into trainers.dat so the game can actually use it. First, make sure to have a backup of the original trainers.dat (from the Data folder) in case you want to go back. Now, if you don't have RPGMaker like me, you can carry out the compiling process via the Debug Menu Mod, which you will find here of course. In the 'Pause' Debug Menu, scroll to the option 'Compile Trainers' and select it. The process will take some time (make sure the PBS folder is where it should be as said above), and by the end, the original trainers.dat file will have been overwritten to include your new changes.

And that should be it! The next time you open the game, it should apply the changes you made. It would probably be best to test one of the battles if you have a save near there. You can copy the edited trainers.txt and trainers.dat files to somewhere else for safekeeping.

(I don't actually know much about this stuff but I'm pretty sure this should work. Someone more experienced might be able to help you better, but in the meantime, why not I share my two cents of knowledge lol)

  3. I wanted to report this too. I had seen some Life Orb errors happening here and there since 19.08 I think, when the Substitute-recoil thing was fixed, but today when I was doing some Mix 'n Match battles I noticed quite a few of them:

    - a Breloom took Life Orb damage even when using Spore,

    - a Jolteon took Life Orb damage even though its Thunder missed

    - a Mimikyu took Life Orb damage even though its target protected

    - a Kingdra took Life Orb damage twice while making one move

  4. This works for all stuff in E19. There are new tracks, but not as many as you might expect. I tried to work with what I already had and to not leave any of the base game tracks unused. I am open to suggestions if you find it's not quite up to the mark

  5. This is my attempt at updating the Reborn battle music pack for E19. Thanks to @Dreamy and Jasper Fox for creating the previous versions, and to @fish_gaming for helping me with this version!

    Description:

This mod gives unique themes to significant trainers (as well as postgame legendaries) in Reborn in order to provide more music variety to the game. Some of the base game tracks are also shuffled around.

    Download (~190 MB):

    https://drive.google.com/file/d/1fKmBVIGZaU_P90HORjpdKhIb_P1Qw1AI/view

    Installation:
    1. Copy all the music files (with the extension '.ogg') into Pokemon Reborn/Audio/BGM/.
    2. Copy the file named "trainertypes.dat" into Pokemon Reborn/Data/ and replace the existing one. Make sure to keep a backup of the original file for if you need to go back.

    3. Copy the file named "Battle Music Pack Extra Features.rb" into Pokemon Reborn/Data/Mods/ (if the Mods folder doesn't exist yet, create it).

    Compatibility with other mods:

This mod would be incompatible with other mods that change the trainertypes.dat file. Compatibility trainertypes.dat files for some specific mods are given below (just put these in place of the one that comes with the download above):

Also this is the modified PBS file for anyone who needs it: trainertypes v1.10.4.txt

Granted it's been at least a couple of years since I finished ep18 and I am continuing with the same save in ep19, if I recall while the NPC in Hardy's gym provides an alternative to the audio for the hearing impaired, it's still not made understandable to those who don't know music notes. Telling us that the first note is 'E' (again it's been a long time I don't remember what the notes were I'm just throwing one out at random to make an example of) doesn't tell us how to distinguish that particular note by sound or where to find it visually on the scales.

The NPC also tells you "from left to right, the notes go low G, A, B, C, D, E, F, high G". That's why I said he gives you the complete solution. The only way you could have missed it is if you never tried to do it without a guide.

The same can be said of Radomus' gym. Although Elias provides a tutorial on each chess piece and it's roles and significance, it was all Greek to me and the new team Chess roles mechanic adds a whole new level of difficulty for us Chess dunces. I'm glad I dodged that just as I managed to dodge the Slowking's Synthetic Seed (and thus was able to avoid its Trick Room with Taunt) because my save pre-dated those updates. Though I do find it interesting nonetheless.

Yeah, I don't have anything to say in defense of the chess puzzle. I guess Ame just overestimated the amount of people that know chess these days. But it might be worth mentioning that besides the rules, the game also gives you feedback on your moves during the puzzle.

The Chess Arena field effects have nothing to do with knowledge of chess though. They do make the battle quite complicated, which is a double-edged sword as half of the players might love that and half of them hate it

  7. I noticed this error too just yesterday, playing on 19.09. I tried to test it a little, and the error seems to occur only when Freeze-Dry is used against a Water-type (pure or dual-typed) Pokemon. The move is skipped and the battle continues as normal

I claim here to say, I've tried visiting so many oasis (3, 7, or 11 as other thread reported) and the tower never shows up no matter how many light shards I've touched.

I just want that Calm Mind TM... Maybe it's bugged after all...

Edit: Finally found it! After interacting with only 2 oases. Me concludes it's random after the first time you find it. Wait there's a warp I could have took in the scrapyard?! So I wouldn't have to waste hours to get it to appear? Was that added in E19. Don't remember if it was there in the first place.

I have no idea what's going on there. What I was saying should be accurate for E18, but maybe the method was changed in E19?

Also yes that warp was added in E19, and it takes you to the Mirage Tower even if it isn't currently there in the desert. Must activate after you've found the Tower once already

  9. Sorry for being late. On your computer, go to C:/Users/[your user name]/Saved Games/Pokemon Reborn. You will find a bunch of files here, the one named 'Game.rxdata' is you latest save file. You can remove it or rename it to something else. Then, out of the rest of the files in the folder, rename whichever one you want to go back to, 'Game.rxdata'. (The game always loads the file named Game.rxdata .)

You might have to do this a few times to find the save file that was exactly before you had accidentally used Waterfall there. Once you find it, you can delete the ones that were made after it, i.e. the ones that got messed up

Hmm... I checked whether it's available via the choose starter mod (don't worry, devs, I installed it on a separate computer only for research purposes!) and neither Awesome-Aegislash nor Aevian-Misdreavus can be selected as alternate forms (which works for Alolan forms).

And that makes me wonder... how does the game then store regional information? Are these two forms different Pokemon with different dex numbers? (Since these alternate forms also don't show up on the Pokedex).

    Spoiler

You can't select that forme of Aegislash (it's called Crystal Aegislash in the code) in the choose starter mod just like you can't select its Blade forme.

I guess the choose starter mod only lets you choose the default forme for each Pokemon, but specifically makes an exception for regional forms. And Aevian Misdreavus is coded as a forme like this instead of a regional form, so it wouldn't be selectable either.

Btw, there's also Breloom Bot and Purple Kecleon for unobtainable formes, and

    Spoiler

the dev battles feature some 'illegal' mons too.

Also also, there is (Rejuvenation spoiler)

    Spoiler

    Rift Gardevoir

in the code but I don't know if it's used anywhere

Ive touched like 4 shards and it is spawning for me, does it spawn if you're with take?

Yes it does spawn if you're with Taka. It appears after you touch 3 light shards, but resets if you touch a 4th one. It will appear again when you have touched 3 more light shards, so if you have touched 4 total till now, you have to touch 2 more to get the total to 6

Yes,i have found 3 shards more than one time, each time i go to desert and found all the shards, but there was not tower appeared

But you have to also touch the 3rd light shard (which will make the 3rd oasis disappear too). After that the Mirage Tower should appear in the north-east corner of the desert

So, will the Reborn E19 pack be available before or after E19 public release? We only have a few days until Community release.

Editing battle music involves getting major spoilers for the rest of the game, and you also need to have played the whole game to know exactly which trainer is which, especially when even E18 content is going to be changed. So I don't think anyone will be able to do it anytime soon.

I'd say you should experience the first playthrough with the music the devs intended anyway
