  1. Hi, name's Promethe, I have no idea what I'm doing. It's not cleaned yet, I want get a good grasp of the shapes first, but I got into a big ol' mess this week. I started mashing gen4 battle sprites together at the speed of mach 4 to make a base for my reborn oc-do-not-steal.™ Naturally, when given the chance I draw a non-binary twunk. Gardenia's arm looks fine with gloves, but I need to change the shading else it'll look weird as only skin (see pic#2). The other thing is Byron's forearm. Not that smacking people with a shovel isn't a respectable sport but my character's an ex-ranger, nor a miner. I guess it'd look cool with a staff or sword but 1. why and 2. I'm not that edgy (I think huuh). I guess I could just put a briefcase or a medical kit so the silhouette's still readable??
  2. I know it's been a year but the thread's still open soooooo... let me at it, if you still want some back and forth. It's a pretty emotionally complex character already, so bravo. Just like you said, the challenge will be to make him feel human. Keep track of their characterization, make it consistent in a way you're confortable with. It can be a character sheet, sporadic notes, pretty much anything. For me, the best way is to "study" real people. Ask folks you know (if they are open to it) on their experiences, visit forums, read documentation. How do people in similar positions to Officer K. A Snide live? What is it like to live with (approximations of) those experiences, emotional baggage, trauma or illnesses all pertaining to your character?
  3. If I were you, I would keep the drafts. It's alright if you don't want to, mine physically hurt when I reread them, Why not come back to it weeks, or months later? It's a good opportunity to analyse why the chapter(s) didn't sit right with you. Was it the wording, the pacing, the structure, the story, something else? It's fine to scrap writing, heck sometimes it's needed to continue on the right track, but you can always recycle & learn from your past attempts and that itself is pretty reassuring. It's good to keep the HOLY TRINITY of Goals, Obstacles and Stakes in mind, too.
  4. Holy shit, that is not a trashpile.™ ( It IS obnoxiously large, though. t's like finding a lil treasure trove. )
  5. Pretty neat art style, it's cute. It's hard to mix soft and cell shading, but it looks neat & professional. Kudos dude.
  6. Ye, Haxorus & Gyarados are nice (Absol too, I'd take that alt form) but for some reason I really like Ho-Oh. It's got the classic colors but it looks like it's actually made of light, and if I had to guess it's because of the transparency/harsh shadows effect. Pretty cool, must've took some time.
