  1. A release of the finished version might draw the attention of a certain video game company. The main game was fully finished and tested though, in case they have to drop the project for any reason. I think it's also a good design choice. After finishing a great game people are usually hyped for what the post game has to offer. After finishing a great game and waiting a year maybe not as much anymore.
  2. I really hope Gen 8 doesn't get added. I might be biased because I didn't like Gen 7 and stopped playing the main series after that, but Gen 8 would complicate many things. First, it removed more moves and Pokémon than it added, so would those moves also be removed and if not, would that break the balance? Some Pokémon getting stat and movelist improvements while others don't would probably skew the balance as well. Also Dynamaxing is just a boring mechanic. I remember the point where it was said that Gen 7 wouldn't be added to the game and I would have been happy with that as I li
  3. With the game-z on Windows 10 no background music plays for me. Sound effects work fine. Game.exe works and the 18.4.3 from earlier this week also works. So there seem to have been changes not yet mentioned in the changelog. I noticed one of them is "Reborn City.mp3" is now missing. But readding it did not fix the issue.
  4. I found another similar error. When going to "Other Save Files" in the main menu and selecting my only save file there, I get: A difference to the soft resetting error is that the screen border, if active both currently and in the save file about to load, does not turn black. If currently deactivated, I get the transitioned state shown below. So the save file appears to partially load before the error occurs.
  5. We already have a party going. Join us here. Edit: fixed in 18.4.3
  6. Tried again with 7-zip 19.00 and command line GNU UnZip 6.0.0. Both reproduced the error. Interesting: I downloaded "Reborn 18.4 4 Fruits.zip" from Mirror 1 on Mac and unpacked it with the same GNU UnZip. Executing and soft resetting worked. But the file on Mirror 4 was named "Reborn 18.4.2 4 Fruits.zip" and executing the unpacked file produces this error report: Process: mkxp-z [96086] Path: /private/var/folders/*/Pokemon Reborn.app/Contents/MacOS/mkxp-z Identifier: com.reborn.mkxpz Version: 1.3.0 (0) Code
  7. I get the exact same error on Windows with the game-z.exe, version 18.4.2. My OpenGL version is 4.3, so that should be fine. On game.exe soft resetting works and on game-z.exe everything runs fine except the soft reset. I can't tell when the error was introduced because today I started playing the first time in 3 years, hehe. Error message, so people can google it: Script 'Settings' line 97: Errno::EBADF occured. Bad file descriptor
  8. As I noticed these lines automatically skipping by way too fast I always thought they must be separate text formatting mistakes regarding the line width, maybe exclusive to my font. Glad the real culprit is finally found and we are rid of these offputting dialogue hickups!
