The fact that Saki is labeled first appearance implies she too is changed after her encounter with Surfer lady. What crazy or sane new personality is she assigned? But i gotta say, Nim's my favorite, i already like her character but i also really like her design and pose she has in her wallpaper plus route 2 is pretty. It's so energetic and infectious in that distinct style you draw which is good for a wallpaper. Great work and thanks for the wallpaper.

Pinning down a consistent theme or aesop in Rejuvenation is pretty tricky because let's be real, the plot is a bunch of things that just happen. Certain things pop up, like Crescent attempting to deconstruct the power of friendship after we die, or Spacea and Timeia trying to force Melia to consider the needs of the many outweighing the needs of the few but like those are in their own sections of the plot so far. If i had to guess what Rejuvenation is trying to say myself, perhaps it's the value of life? Finding value and worth in it despite hardships or maybe not just life but people and things in it. Now what is the first thing we see after downloading this game? Xerneas as the icon of the game on your desktop, the Pokemon of life. Let's take a look at Nancy, throughout the game, she's called a doll or emotionless, yet she still manages to care for us despite it all, maybe not even being our real mother, but it can't be denied she loved us enough to give her life for us. This is hammered home by Madam X's shocked reaction to this. We teach Maria the value of her life through our interactions with her in the mansion that she is able to stand against Indriad at the end, Sheridan starts the game in decline due to Kenneth's breakdown, yet Aelita sees value in it and it's people, Golden leaf turned racist due to a past tragedy but learn to find value in outsiders after we intervene and move on from the burning tower. Zetta tries to find value in his life as a clone of Melia by trying to bond with her in his own way as a Team Xen member and it's doomed to failure. And after black steeple, i'd say this theme takes a back seat, though there is a bit on Sharlene's attempt at suicide failing and Crescent and Venam's contrasting reactions, but comes back in GDC. Rune is missing and it eats up at Huey but he's still able to function and his friendship with Reina fills in the sisterly void in his heart, Melia is heartbroken at Venam turning to stone that it helps motivate her to try to stop Vivian's ritual without realizing the consequences, Vivian's struggle with her friends over the value of her life over all of the world's, and then later on her reincarnation is able to live, the bad future in it's best ending is able to rebuild after Melanie's defeat, Erin finds a purpose to her life when meeting our group, and joining the adventure despite contemplating suicide which is hammered home by her speech at the ball. Aelita finds value in her own existence even after realizing most of her life is a lie. And speaking of Aelita and her life, we can't go this far without discussing Kenneth and Taelia. At the start of WLL, both are dissatisfied with their lot in life, Kenneth ran away from Kanto using the excuse to wanting to help people, but then gets suckered into being a glorified construction worker, Taelia is basically a prisoner kept from the outside world by Cella out of fear for her safety and others due to her little curse. Both meet each other and improve each other's lives, Kenneth has something to protect and a purpose, while Taelia has someone she can rely on and talk to on a level she can't with Cella. But as we all know, it doesn't have a happy ending, but Taelia assures Kenneth that it was good while it lasted and that's what matters, Kenneth and his conflict with his brother does end with them reconciling despite Deagan dying, and despite Kenneth thinking Taelia hated him, still raised Aelita as his daughter despite the issues hammers home the theme of the value of life. So yeah, i'd say due to being a complete tale, WLL does a better job of conveying the themes of the value of life despite tragedy and certain issues getting in the way of but not destroying happiness. And besides the value of life, i do notice a recurring writing theme, the theme of motherhood is quite prominent in the game. The very beginning of the game is a mother reading a story to her child, the death of said mother and it's effects on the family, Nancy as our mother takes a more active role in the game compared to most mothers, Aelita's mother is gone but she considers the Eldest to be the closest thing she has to one, Ren and Reina's mother is depressed and alone because her children left her and she wonders if she went wrong, Narcy tries to care for Geara because she is his step/adopted mother despite Geara's refusal, Mosely and Maman's whole arc (Maman is even french for Mom) Nancy's sacrifice for us, Tesla's troubled relationship with her daughter despite being universally beloved, and even wanting to adopt us because we are now an orphan, Melia even calls Tesla the mother she never had, Venam reminiscing that her mother realized that she was mourning for Melia's supposed death and tried to comfort her, the bad future's concept that all females are children of Nymiera and that Melanie kidnapped Tesla to be her pretend mommy, Ardrest and Veriya and the latters joy when Ardrest calls her mother. And that's not even getting into my theory that Crescent is our actual mother somehow. Now i have no idea if this theme is intentional or not, but it's certainly something to think about.

I guess the reason why we are immune to fate is simple, we weren't around the first time, so it's logical everything would have been thrown out of whack because of us and our player abilities. I guess the writers had to give us cool anime abilities in insurance fraud because let's be real, people like Melia, Madam X, surfer people, Aelita and her past incarnations belong in a fantasy game, maybe Zelda, not Pokemon. And like Pokemon battles have been rendered nearly meaningless because of things like Geara tossing us into the lava despite logically the Pokemon we have protecting us, Madam X trying to stab us/use lasers if we beat her Yveltal. Like Jan said he wishes he didn't add in the Pokemon Badges in the AMA for a reason, the Pokemon league has become less and less relevant and it's harder to contrive us going to a Gym, heck we haven't been to a conventional Gym since Erick and there's this crazy shit involving Robots taking over the league just to keep the premise in the plot, I think it's a bad idea to put superpowers and supernatural beings who aren't Pokemon in the setting of a pokemon game (or rather to give them so much focus) because the gameplay will never let you engage with those on any significant level unless the plot bends backwards to make it work (aelita's dimensional rift for example) since, y'know, we're playing a POKEMON game. When Melia defeats Melanie's Yveltal with her light powers with no help from her Pokemon, it really hammers home the plot really doesn't need Pokemon, and if you replace pokemon battles with say Dragon Ball Z esque martial arts, replace Arceus with a generic god, Giratina with a generic demoness (which is easy because Giratina here acts nothing like game Giratina. ) nothing would change much. Reborn was quite good at keeping Pokemon relevant comparatively, unlike RIFTS, PULSE Pokemon factor into Team Meteor's plot and are a consistent threat to the Reborn Region, Gyms are still relevant, Lin may be supernatural in nature, but she's still a Pokemon trainer first unlike Madam X's weeb sword fighting skills. Having said this, i'm still a shill for this game though, sure the plot is basically random events that are cool, but the gameplay is still great and the cast is fun.

Yeah Crescent is a shifty lady, she does help maintain the mystery box by not letting us interrogate Team Xen members. I would guess it's not intentional but who knows? As for the time thing, well the rules of time travel haven't been established clearly yet or ever, but judging by dialouge from Erin about fate's passage and everything being preordained i would guess some sort of time loop is happening and that our presence is throwing things out of whack as the Surfer Dude alludes to, like he mentions he used to know his fate implying something has gone wrong with the timeline. If it's multiverse theory then is everytime we use a time splicer crystal creating an alternate future?

The reason Indriad doesn't have Gardevoir the first time we meet him is probably because it's AFTER Gardevoir dies in V 12, remember there is a line about Indriad saying two people saw his wife dying, referring to the MC and himself since he didn't recognize Venam due to the hair. It's not in chronological order.

Why exactly is this tournament so important? Assuming Risa Raider is Surfer Lady(Which i'm still somewhat doubtful.) she beat Melia in that tournament so what's the point? Is it like a nudge to get Melia in a certain emotional state or to get her to train to become stronger? So under this train of thought, perhaps the tournament is a way to divide our group? I don't think the Surfer people are behind it, i'm certain we were impersonated, which the likely suspects are Cosmia and Cosmet since they can shapeshift. If i had to guess another reason for the tournament setup, perhaps it's a way to gauge how powerful the group is?

I think Melia's line was kind of a hold over because back then, she didn't actually have a full team, hence all the screaming about Valor Mountain's boss. Hahahaha.

I love how Florin can openly ask the judge for a personal favor in the middle of court when trying to have Flora put under house arrest, like that is a serious breach of ethics and would have gotten Florin in a lot of trouble. Still i'm curious how Flora will be treated in V13 since she was arrested. Again.

It's well known that Karen is pretty psychotic, since Rhodea instantly fears her when the Puppet Master sends her to the apartment. Like instead of calling Team Anti-Assist who make Team Rocket look competent, maybe call the police or local authorities to assist her against Karen? That way authorities know that Karen is dangerous at the very least. Sure Karrina may be a gang member but she should understand the advantage of putting heat on Karen. Then again the League and possibly the government has been infiltrated by robots so who knows how fucked up the legal system is in Aevium. XD
