  1. "I'm afraid my story isn't nearly as long or impressive as Lexiel's. I'm what my world calls a Maker, otherwise ordinary people with an abnormal magical or martial potential. I'm a skilled pyromancer and I'm immune to the fire and flames myself." She sighs, getting to the part of the story she really didn't feel like talking about. "In my homeworld I unwittingly rule a small island nation."
  2. Vitor's psychometry paints a grim picture as he plumbs the history of this place. Touching the rubble he quickly realizes it wasn't ever stairs, simply a wooden ladder raised or lowed into this or many other pits as it was needed. The bucket held the job of transporting food or water the few times a week the guards decided to tend to the prisoners. The stone fool is perhaps the darkest, an image of a sickly man who's ragged breathing was ended by several swift boot kicks to the jar and chest. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ [9] Satomi's grappling hook flies up to the top level and lodges itself in a crack in the stone ceiling, then wenches her upward. It wasn't a pleasant feeling, the sudden acceleration that felt like it might tear her arm out of socket, but it worked well enough and soon she could get back to solid footing several floors above. Satomi finds herself in a wide corridor, there are two more cell pits in front of her and one behind. A heavy wooden door is pushed open slightly by large amounts of rubble behind her. Forward she sees the splintered remains of a hulking humanoid skeleton with a tattered black robe leaned against the right corner. Next to the remains there is another wooden door partially splintered with a large boot print in the center and just now drifting to rest slightly open. Beyond that she can make out another corridor running parallel to the one she stands in. She hears a loud mechanical THUD followed by several disturbing bird-like screeches and the scraping of metal-on-stone....and a small explosion some time later. Whatever it is is moving away from her and Vitor, and tearing through anything on it's way to wherever it's headed.
  3. Harold attacks CZ75 with his Raygun dealing 2d6+8 Disintegration damage.
  4. Brother Carl guides the ship over the cloud layer and towards the snow capped mountain tops. Between two peaks you see a sort of depression, a large area made flat by a huge animal trampling it. The snow here has long melted away, though above and below you can still see buildup, there are several piles of bones and charred remains littered around the depression. Towards the taller of the two peaks there is a cave entrance leading off the depression, a light trail of smoke wafts out of the top of it and you can see the heat shimmer from on the ship. Location discovered: Dragon's Lair The dragon doesn't seem to be home right now, but if the scrying eye was anything to go by it'll be back with dinner soon.
  5. Cell is going to wander over to the wall panel and try to use his masterful dungeon delving experience to deduce what the fuck is going on inside it.
  6. As Lyra is making her way to the gate, about halfway through the trip, she notices a damaged spot in the fence. On the other side is a large flying...plaid...dolphin? It's only floating a few feet off the ground, but it's making steady progress on breaking into the park. It slams against the fence again, letting out a high pitched squeeeak as it does so, almost like a chew toy. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "I heard Trick had been successful dispatched, good work. However I...honestly did not expect you to finish him off so quickly, the teleporter is still recharging. It shouldn't be too much longer though, I'll contact to again when it's ready." Everyone gains 3 more crafting tokens and a bit of free time to use them. The Dolphin is an optional fight. Bonus loot for beating it, no penalty for skipping.
  7. Square half steps half stumbles out of the roller coaster cart. She finds some railing to lean up against as she takes a breather. "Oww that was a lot harder than I thought it would be, I think I need a break for a while. On the bright side I think I leveled up." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ One of the phones the party was given began to ring, Mira's phone no less. Caller ID shows that it's Histoire. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The thugs are pretty unanimously refusing to talk to Lyra in any capacity, responding only with scoffs, mean looks, and the occasional "Fuck off". One thug is the exception though and goes on and on about how some people just want to watch the world burn. As for their equipment the medical team is pretty indifferent. None of it has been logged yet and it's not their business anyway. Lyra finds three pipes, four small caliber handguns, and one strange "rifle" that looks like something out of a mad science lab.
  8. What's left of Trick's "body" that Iowa didn't pulverize quickly degrades, withering away into nothing. The only think left behind is a twisted golden grin from the monster's original helmet. Lyra approaches the big tent and steps inside only to see....a medical team? Looks like after the Evac team left they came back for the wounded. About eight thugs are sitting in the middle of the tent bound hand and foot while another three are being worked on. A couple bandaged Evac team members are standing guard. As Mira makes her way towards the gate she's stopped about half way by three vans driving right on the paved walkways headed up the hill. Judging by their flashing light, sirens, and markings they're medical teams. She makes it to the gate though, and sees the same officer the party talked to before. "I don't know what that thing was, but we heard the explosions from here and saw it going down."
  9. "I'm going'ta take a look around. I'll keep an eye out for you." Harold heads up one of the nearby buildings to get a better look out and see if he sees the mall their headed for, leaving Jack and Scarlet to look around on foot.
  10. Friedhold turned back to face the SINless and addressed them as casually as one could in a rain shower in the middle of a filthy dock. "Fine, thank you. My first time seeing the city, I did not believe I would live to see it, or any of America for that matter." He glanced upward, looking towards the clouds now releasing a steady stream of water. "Perhaps the rain will be less foreboding than where I am from."
  11. Theme: Zoe’s lightning arcs across and between her targets with a satisfying zap and crackle. She deals 7 damage to each of them. The jolt seems to piss the full size psychos off more than it hurts them. Hirata starts up her crankgun. Zoe poofs out of existence. One of the Marauders opens fire at the one who just blew open their door, but as she’s no longer present they just sorta end up shooting the air. The other Marauder shows use of all three of his brain cells and changes targets to Hirata, who was closest near Zoe when she disappeared. He deals 10 damage. [2]Hirata opens fire on the slower of the two Marauders dealing 13 damage. Stella decides to nuke the poor bastards dealing 14 damage to the Marauders and 11 to the Psychos. The Psychos are even more pissed off. Vepr-12 deals 8 damage to the Marauder, blowing a large hole in his chest. Vepr-12 sures up her defenses. The two Psychos fling their axes at Stella and Vepr-12. [8, hit]Stella takes 15 damage as the axe hits her squarely in the chest, she bleeds for an additional 6 damage. Vepr-12 takes 4 damage, she bleeds for 1. Vepr-12 makes a counter attack on the Psycho, she deals 11 damage. The Midget goes into some kind of frenzy and starts shouting assorted nonsense threats and babbles. Its Init goes up by 4! Init: Status:
  12. Music: Iowa’s crew effectively perforate the Draining Tongue using her 8-inch guns, it takes 30 damage. Lyra’s taunt wells well and the slimy Paralyzing Tongue is quick to start lashing out towards her. Atton restores 17 HP to Bridgett and Square and restoring 6 stat points to each. Bridgett’s wave of magical friendship washes across Trick's twisted forms, practically boiling its skin off and certainly wiping out anything resembling an appendage. Leaving only the scoured remains of Trick's bloomed corpse. Many of the large pustules burst or break free. 6D, along with the unconscious bodies of many others fall from the monster, landing in either the grass or catch-nets below. Perlita heals herself to full and removes all that icky slime. Gabriel sets what remains of the monster on fire, someone somewhere would be proud. Square uses Curaga on Bridgett restoring more health and removing more stat damage. Trick’s remains fail their perception check(on merit of not having sensory organs any more) and Punch’s blow connects for force. Trick’s remains now pulse with cinders and plasma arcs. Mira’s slash impacts what’s left of Trick leaving a deep gouge that oozes thick red blood.
  13. Sha'Tith starts trying to find his way out of Macy's and into the fight.
  14. Vitor finds that the jail bars are surprisingly(or unsurprisingly) easy to kick out, and with a clattering of metal on stone he and Satomi could now walk around the room more freely.
  15. "Hmm....flash-bang...." Spicy HG thought at Lexiels suggestion for several moments before coming to some kind of idea. "Give me just a minute here, I might be able to make something better than nothing." She pulled two of the Gashidokoro core shards out of the stock and started trying to bind fire to them, heating them to a glowing white-hot as close to exploding as possible. Once she was finished she turned back, presenting the delicate shards to Mitsu, Lexiel, and Ako. "Hmph, well this demon core is certainly uncooperative, ended up more like firecrackers than flash-bangs." At just the moment she said the words one of them decided to explode in her hand with startling "POP!" and a small flash of light, but no actually considerable harm or fright. "Aaannd now we only have one firecracker. Great, guess it was worth a try."
  16. Traveling through the portal dropped the party in a less than pleasant place, a tiny cell practically standing on the bones of the previous resident. Through the cell bars you can see that the cell is at the base of some kind of pit or tower with six cells in total on the ground floor. The stone walls are still quite sturdy at roughly a foot and a half thick, but the metal bars of the cell you're in didn't fair as well and have nearly collapsed to corrosion. The roof of each cell is arched along with the bar door, above you there is another set of six cells off set from the set below. A simple wood catwalk rings the floor level of the cells above, though the actual cells have stonework floors. The "tower" continues up this way two more floors before reaching a ceiling at the fifth more open floor. In the center of the room, which is a circle about twelve feet across, there is a small pool of water, the crumbled remains of a wooden ladder, and a half-rotten wooden bucket hanging from a thick chain attached all the way up top. You can hear the sound of combat from above, though with the notable lack of screams of death and agony.
  17. Tim huff at the rod not working right, or the seemingly strange nature of the world. He wasn't quite sure which was to blame and honestly? He didn't really care. He returned to the Weatherlight irritated that even within the ship this world's influences were interfering with his projects. He scrapped up the greyish remains from the creation of his Covalence on a piece of paper and threw both it and the divining rod in his bag of holding. He needed somewhere more stable to work, somewhere more free of distractions and unlikely to warp his magic in unfamiliar ways. Funnily enough Hell of all places was sounding better and better. So he ventured into the ship and found a nice quiet place to setup a portal, not that it would be quiet for long. Tim setup a mighty obsidian archway the stretched from floor to ceiling in the back of the forge room and with a single spark activated it, tearing a hole in the veil between worlds. A silky purple "pool" suspended in the archway acted as a break point and transition. Almost immediately a loud warped pulsing could be heard in all nearby rooms and distantly anywhere in the ship, portals had a tendency to teleport even sound, warping it beyond recognition after it echoed back several times. Tim stepped through, leaving the active portal behind screaming into the abyss without so much as a note. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Outside the Weatherlight on the bare dirt, those keen of eye might have noticed the a white glowing glyph appeared on the ground several minutes ago. Though, even those of less keen eye certainly noticed when it flared to life and summoned up a glassy floating disk above it. The "disk" in question was a large oval floating vertically directly above the glyph, both the outer edge of the disk and the glyph were burning with a white/blue flame that had no heat to it. Though the surface of the disk was partially mirrored those that try to look through catch glimpses of what was on the other side, stone brick, moss, dried blood, a skeleton, and....cell bars? Nothing immediately happens as people approach it, at least until someone touches it. Those who do are quickly sucked in and transported to the other side, where they can be seen through the glare alive and well.
  18. While Jack had his grinning fit and was actively attracting attention Harold leaned over to Scarlet to quietly ask a question. "Is your friend alright there ma'am?" Moving on the to louder more open conversation "Let's avoid gett'n shot at for as long as possible thank you very much, Ah' done my share of fight'n in unfamiliar cities. Once was enough." Harold thought for a moment as he glanced around and looked for any tallsih buildings that could be scaled in some capacity. "Maybe we should get a better look at the place though."
  19. Friedhold turned to look at the SINless as they approached, after assessing they weren't obviously armed he turned back to stare at the distant radio tower and look over tent-city between him and it. He simply stood waiting patiently. The Little Sister on the other hand, having recently gotten over an learned fear of water falling from the sky, is spending her time trying to catch as many rain drops and splash in as many puddles as possible while still holding onto Friedhold's hand.
  20. Str check: 27 vs 25, Luck: 60, Vepr-12 initially only manages to knock the corpse over onto the ground. Not one to be dissuaded once she had decided on a course of action however she doubled down and before she knew it the thing was off the pole....in several pieces as well, but off the pole none the less. She might be able to break off an arm and use it as a thwacking stick? Not a terribly good one though. [15] Hirata finds that there is in fact some sort of trap mechanism connects to a tripwire in front of the door, not that the door is held closed by anything more than a really strong person wedging it into a space two inches too small. Hirata doesn't get a whole lot of time to examine the entry way though, at least not before Zoe shouts and starts unloading into the door. By the time Zoe is finished with her first magazine the door is looking pretty ragged and tossing the gun in grenade mode really does it. The twisted shot up metal plate goes flying out the other side just as what remains of a large metal spike drops down from the other side of the doorway and lands right about where their heads would've been. From the other side a surprised shout can be heard followed by voice of barely contained excitement. "Guess what! WE HAVE VISITORS BOOOYYYSSS! AHA-AHAHAHAHAHA!" The shout quickly devolved into laughter as several other manic voices joined in, laughing and shouting strange obscene things. Init: Status:
  21. The man thought for a moment on the subject, he didn't seem entirely sure. "I will see what we can find, cannons are not a very common commodity for naval vessels as I'm sure you know. Especially not as many as your ship seems to have." [65] He gathers the needed measurements for projectile size and weight before sending the other robbed men off. Jack and Akihiro could watch as they basically went ship-to-ship asking crew members. Most came back with little, but few got good hauls. In the end Jack gets two kegs of weak gunpowder, a crate of sandstone cannonballs, and a small box containing three "Curse balls". The leader of the brotherhood opens the box and shows each of the faintly glowing stone spheres to Jack. "I did not think there were any of these in port still, but never the less here they are. Specially crafted cursed cannonballs from the mages of Waterdeep. The first covers the target with webs, the second explodes into a lightning bolt, and the third freezes a large area around whatever it hits." He hands the box to Jack. "Now, godspeed and may the divine protect you." [From this point you can have Brother Carl point you in the direction of the lair, go hunting for the dragon, or something else idk]
  22. The man flashes a look of legitimate surprise when Jack mentions "Flying there" on The Enterprise. "Well I...uhh......" The lead trailed off as he seemed to lose his words, he looks down to his side at the Dwarf who glances up and shrugs very slightly. "Very well. Brother Carl will accompany you as a guide on your ship if he may." Brother Carl steps up silently to the edge of the dock and nods slowly. "Is there any other way we could be of assistance?"
  23. [8] Chipping through the ice and dirt Zoe Walker pulls a crate out and pops it open. Inside she finds two assault rifles thoroughly seized with rust and decay, some spoiled ammunition, and the remains of a few dozen food rations. [9] Hirata doesn't find much better, only some stray paper scraps and bits of rusted metal. As Vepr-12 moves down the pathway something more sinister slowly comes into view. A corpse, positioned vertically on a pole and about two thirds frozen stands in the middle of the walkway, the few places ice or frost doesn't cover are clearly chewed by rodents of some kind. Beyond the grisly display she sees a sort of haphazard wall build from scrap, shipping containers, rock, and ice all shoveled into a pile to block the passage. A faded metal sign depicting a black circle cut through with a red lance acts as a makeshift door for the road block. The door is closed and no one seems to be around...yet.
  24. A confused man in a brown leather jacket with a khaki space suit underneath looks around at where he was and the two others near him. "What in the great beyond just happened? This is not deck 63. Damn radioporter must'a sent me to some godforsaken death world." He takes a closer look at Scarlet and Jack. "Names Harold. One of y'all wouldn't happen to know where we are would'ya?"
  25. The man nods slowly. "We have been observing the creature both mundanely and through Brother Carl's divinations. We know that is is an adult Red Dragon, the rough location of its den, several pastures it regularly visits for food." At their leader's behest a shorter man with long red hair and a longer redder beard steps forward, makes slow methodical hand motion and a light hum. A feint plae glow gathees around his hands before a sort of image projection appears in the air in front of him. The image show a large...well Red Dragon, easily as large as The Enterprise, swooping down and picking up two sheep with its front to claws. As it pulls up and turns over its shoulder and turns toward the spying eye, it inhales with a deafening roar before dowsing the eye in brilliant flames. The image goes dark, and the projection fades. "Hmm...it seem to be near Greystone Farm, lines up with the smoke in the distance. We can lend a guide and horses up the mountain."
