The trick or treating time is upon me. Time to turn off the lights and close the blinds, since my family doesn't have candy to give.
Unrelated, but now I'm at 200 rep!

And the resident mecha reference specialist of the first Fantasy Maiden Wars has appeared on our side yet again, this time with an upgrade. She's now Full Armor Nitori (what looked to be a throwaway joke in the first game became reality in the second). Unfortunately, she looks exactly the same, though she does carry an extra attack, an upgraded attack, and better armor.
SpoilerUltimately, she's not really that good, with her support role from the first game being overshadowed by better supporters (though she is one of the only two to have both types of support by default). I'm still going to try to use her, regardless, because of her reference:
Notori (FA) has evolved from minor mecha reference to become a full-on reference to the Full Armor Double Zeta Gundam (Full Armor ZZ for short). Surprisingly, her 'Big Damn Hero' entrance syncs up perfectly with the SRW version of Double Zeta's theme:
Spoiler-
Attack-wise, mostly her Third and Last attacks are references to Full Armor ZZ's Hyper Beam saber and Hi-Mega canon attacks, while the Forth could be referencing the generic missile attack it has. The first attack is just a generic Gundam beam saber reference (which she had in the first game already).
The only video I could find was her as a stage boss, though.

After actually starting the second FMW game with the transfer file, I found out not all the skill carried over because of major re-balancing (with a few doing much different things while others just got their prices jacked up). The game does give you a refund for them, but still sucks.
On the plus side, at least the game is giving me enough money to buy weapon upgrades now......though it's more of a case of making even a single level of weapon upgrade actually affordable.
Just the first mission shows many minor improvements in gameplay and bringing it pretty much to level of a PS2 level SRW----graphics aside, of course. The first game emulated older SRW in all regards, including a more bare-bones everything. I didn't realize I missed the little things until now.
Also, had to laugh at this midboss Char-inspired Kappa, called Kappa C in the game (though she fought just like her fellow midbosses A and B):
SpoilerThe Kappa in this game really love their mecha references (though that goes without saying, since they are the most technologically advanced race in the barrier of Touhou's world)......though I'll probably make a comment about that once a certain character rejoins.

Well, after some game-breaking but hilarious initial problems (seen below), I was finally able to transfer my save data from the first Fantasy Maiden Wars to the second game. All the new patches seemed to have this issue, so I had to go searching for an older (obsolete) patch and it started correctly there. Time to continue onward (when I get some other stuff done)
SpoilerThose two bred like rabbits:
