"Really? Fascinating," Rachel states, taking her hands father from her weapons, "I've not met many genuinely friendly and helpful xenos or psykers, but the ones that are can be extraordinarily good to have around. After all, the Eldar did revive Primarch Guilliman. If they can change their colors, I suppose this xenos deserves the benefit of the doubt. Though I would prefer any further witchcraft wait until we exit the vehicle. Even the best-trained psyker is a danger to far more than their enemies, and I don't fancy fighting a daemon in such cramped quarters."

"Is it not obvious? He is a xenos psyker and has set foot on the soil of Holy Terra," Sister Rachel points out reasonably, "The only reason he has not been purged with fire and shell is to save him for interrogation and vivisection, or so I would assume."

Vitor slashes at the big enemy with Gae Bolg, smiling as he feels the crackle in the back of his head of a ready ultimate. But he doesn't unleash it yet; its best to save that for when it's really needed. Instead, he lines up his spear for a second strike, letting the bloodthirsty emulated curse cover the weapon in a smoky aura. "Emulated Phantasm! Gae Bolg!" And he drives the spearpoint home, though by this time, the heart has already been pierced.

Sister Rachel finished up with the immediate treatments just in time to see the demos coming in. She swings her flamer over to him, but takes no other aggressive actions. Yet.

Pokemon in Space [IC Chapter #03]
DragonRage replied to Bfroger6's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
"Surrender is illogical. Retreat is pointless. This corruptive influence must be neutralized for the good of everyone who lives in this nexus," Taylor decides, "No one else ends up like that Wailord. Will you stand with me, my friends?" Kenshiro and Jet voice agreement in their own way. -
Sister Rachel starts going around, offering to treat the wounds of the group. Humans first of course, but after a little internal debate she also offers to help Proditor. There isn't a lot she can do for the robot or the living twist tie, though. They didn't cover those in the Schola Medica.

Almost dead from enemy artillery, only still on her feed by the grace of the God-Emperor and the holy ceramite, surrounded by walking wounded? Sister Rachel had never felt more at-home. She pulls more syringes out of her medicae and inserts them into ports in her armor, giving herself a stack of Guts, and advances towards sound of combat outside, a well-practiced hymnal on her lips. "Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of our Lord; He is opening the arsenal where the great relics are stored; In bolter, flamer, plasma gun, and roar of the chainsword; Imperial Truth is marching on!"

"For Holy Terra! Deus Vult!" Sister Rachel shouts, rapidly holstering her pistols and drawing a set of syringes from her medicae. A few expertly placed needles later, Aquila gains a stack of Guts. Ejecting the empties, she swings her Incinerator Flamer into position and unleashes a wave of holy fire upon the Advent priest and the surviving captain. "None have conquered the Cradle of Mankind in all of history, and today shall be no different! You will be purged in the purifying fire!"

Sister Rachel decides to take advantage of the distraction to power up her jump pack, extending its wing-stabilizers with a whisper of metal-on-metal. With a burst of energy and sound, she leaps high into the air and draws her Inferno Pistols on the way down. She lands as close to directly on the captain as she can, and fires a pistol into the faces of each grunt, before going to finish the captain off with more pistol shots. "Foul xenos. You profane even the languages of mankind," She curses quietly, "I thank you for your distraction, fellow defender of Holy Terra, but the work of the devout is not over yet." She starts cutting through the door with her Inferno Pistols. ...Assuming everything goes as planned.

"If I knew what it was, I wouldn't be doing this," Vitor states, "I'd have just walked up to it and read its history. It looks kind of like what speculative fiction authors predict lifeboats for starships will look. But that doesn't mean that's what it is. I'm quite attached to my remaining hand, and I'd like to stay that way." -

"I can feel the guilt from both of you," Mirri replies, "I'd have to have the situational awareness of a brick to miss it, even without the Force. So all I'll say is that I know well the dangers of acting on emotions alone, and you know I know what I'm talking about in that regard. Don't make the same mistakes I did. It's easier to learn from someone else's errors than your own."

"I might not have a leg to stand on saying it, but this argument is purposeless," Mirri opines, "Yes, Calvera and Soma's warped form destroyed the testing room, and put a rather large hole in the base. What of it? She's pretty clearly one of the least experienced members of our team. There were things all of us could have done differently. If I'd let go of my anger sooner, maybe I could have talked Soma out of such a risky path. Maybe I could have impressed Calvera on the value of attacks with a non-lethal setting, or at least ones that can't destroy a building if they aren't backstopped properly. Maybe with enough practice I could have cut off Soma's powers before the situation went critical. "Amazing as I'd have found it a day ago, I agree with the coward. Blaming Calvera serves no purpose. She knows what she did wrong, and is taking steps to correct her errors. Are you?"

"Aw, Sithspit. Look, kid... Are you younger 'n me? You look it, so I'm gonna assume I can take the venerable position of crusty old lady who's seen some action here," Having headed back to the bus after her talk with Jun, Mirri clanks over to Calvera and goes down on one knee next to the incarnate star. "Look, we screwed up pretty hard. It happens. Nobody's got a perfect record, least of all me. "I ever tell you about my mission on Fondor? Had to be about fifteen years ago. I was young, stupid, and heavily armed, in pursuit of this industrial spy named Tonca Etser. He was getting away, and worth about as much dead as alive, so I decided I'd turn a stiff in for my bounty. I took a shot, but it turned out the big tank behind him wasn't antifreeze like it was labeled. The thing was full of high hydrocarbon aviation fuel, and it went off like a concussion missile. The explosion disintegrated Etser, trashed a dozen transports parked nearby, and put an eight meter deep hole in the landing platform. I ended up having to flee the planet ahead of the local authorities; I still can't show my face there. "Point is, I learned from that mission. To check my targets more carefully, and not fire unless I'm absolutely certain whatever I'm shooting at can backstop my attacks. I traded in that Tenloss disruptor rifle I'd been packing for something lower powered, and made sure to check my shots carefully. Dead or alive is well and good, but nonlethals are a heck of a lot more likely to avoid collateral damage. "Everyone makes mistakes kid. It's part of existing. Even if you hide in this bus for the rest of your life, you'll be making a mistake. You'll be hiding from your problems instead of facing them with honor. Running and hiding aren't always a bad choice, but nobody can do either forever. So you dropped the ball. You aren't the only one. So get up, put your face back on, and get better. Get some weapons that are easier to control than those beams of yours, so you don't have to worry so much about firing indoors next time. Learn what usually can and can't backstop your attacks. Think of things that you could have done to change the outcome of that fight, and then learn to do them. "And then, the next time you find yourself in this kinda tight spot you'll be ready. You'll have what you need to come out successful. Everyone makes mistakes. Fools allow themselves to repeat their mistakes." Mirri stands up again, and starts walking off. "So are you a fool or not? Sithspit, I'm no good at this wise old lady thing. That probably all came out wrong..."

"I have never done anything like that before," Solara admits, "I'm not a wizard. I only know one spell, and that only because Lady Serra created all her angels to be able to channel white mana to heal. I wouldn't even know where to begin." _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Meanwhile, Vitor works on refining his turret design. After a few hours of cursing and burned fingertips, he has a breakthrough that greatly increases the energy output of their photon lashes. -
"It doesn't feel right to leave these people after what we did to them, however unintentionally," Mirri states, "But if you believe we would be better suited by pulling out entirely for now, I bow to your judgment. Mine has not been the most reliable of late."

"I'm not leaving," Mirri decides, "This accident is our fault. Our responsibility. It makes no sense for all of us to remain. Other worlds need our help. As we are we do not have the ability to track down and save Somatotrope without heavy casualties and an unacceptable amount of time invested. The bus is not so close that we could make it there before these people's security catch up. My weapons' stun setting makes me uniquely well-suited for this task. Heh. One thing the Mandalorians and Jedi always shared was a talent for rear-guard actions in the face of overwhelming opposition. "I'm not asking you to abandon me. I'm not suicidal. ...Not anymore. I'm asking you to come back with the reinforcements and tools we need to achieve our objectives. These people need help, and they can't afford to spend the resources they'd need to kill me. I'm certain rationality will prevail, even if I have to knock a few heads together first. So get moving! Until you return, I will hold the line. R2-P14, start pre-flight checks and switch the blasters over to riot control mode..."

Their business concluded, the group heads back to the safe house where, like the good little adventuring party they are, they take everything that seems possibly useful. Especially the furniture; the Weatherlight could use some beds. Vitor also packs up his magical lab, and Leo insists on bringing the pile of metal bits that once was his Doombot. With all the useful things done, and Amelie apparently refusing to leave, the party sets off through the Blind Eternities, hoping that the coordinates Marisa provided will see them safely to their destination, wherever that may be. Some crazy red-head just gave them to her with a big sack of gold coins, name-dropped Doctors Doom and Ebon, and teleported away. Go to this thread.

"Keep on them! Take those monsters down! And anyone who has an enhancement move, hit Jade with it!" Lexiel shouts. As her aura pulses, healing herself, Lilya, and Halley 5 HP each, she pulls a dart filled with crackling blue fluid from one of her bandoliers and casts an alarming amount of blue and red lightning into it. Then, she throws it at Jade. "You're powered up! Get in there!" Lexiel uses Fluxcharge on Jade, increasing his critical hit chance and dodge chance by 4% for each buff effect that hits him until the Fluxcharge expires in 3 rounds. Fluxcharge counts itself as increasing the buff power, so it starts with a 4% bonus.
