Mr. Sokolov sits up, his outdated servo motors and synthetic muscles whirring loudly as he seemingly imitates C3PO's graceful and dexterous movements. This is normal. His eyes, more like cheap cameras really, come to life with a buzz, feeding youtube quality video directly to his brain with plenty of tearing and blur. This is normal. He reaches over for a bottle of Alzheimer drugs that aren't there, before, in a moment of clarity, he remembers where he is, and what he signed up to have done to him. That moment of clarity stretches on, until it would be inaccurate to call it a "moment". The familiar, cotton-fuzz fails to fall over his thoughts, even after a minute, two minutes pass. "This is not normal."

Law nods with great excitement, and, upon looking at it, can't help but laugh a little bit. "Wh-" "Whoever made this thing REALLY didn't want people poking around in it. It's hilarious." He pulls out some tools and begins the arduous process of figuring out the best places to start opening this creature up. And then he takes the opportunity to gut it, replacing silvery metal parts with bright orange tech and glowing components of his own.
-
He nods at this. "That is good to hear. Healers are always in short supply." "No matter how great an abundance of them there is." "My own healing may be effective, but it would be nice to avoid wasting my precious liquor on lesser ailments." Mar pulls out a flask of vile, black liquid which radiates maliciousness and unease. He looks tempted to take a nip right then and there, but thinks better of it, and puts it away.

"So an interview? We're not exactly news-anchors..." "I think it's a good idea. So you're wanting to come in, people ask questions, you answer them, we record it and spread the footage around?" Uber puts a finger to his chin, thinking to himself. "We'll need to dig up a fancy printer, if you want pamphlets."
-
"Uber here, how's it hanging Jun?" Uber picks up, face appearing on screen while L33t makes zappy sparks appear in the background as he tinkers on some esoteric device. "We've got some good footage from your little adventure. Might have to cut out the chemical warfare, but other than that...?" "It was badass!" L33t shouts from within the bowels of a mechanical frame.
-
Mar, who himself is merely hanging around the fringes of the group, simply follows along. "If we are lucky, then drastic measures will not be necessary." "I'm sure everyone here can draw on their experience to prevent it being so." He makes a point of saying, as he slowly plods along, cane thumping on the cheap and dirty floors.

Without wasted movement, Gozer slides between Cicivexa and the scorpion. Blankly shifting into what looks like a cross-armed block as green light flares from them. Gozer uses Royal Guard. He predicts that The Silver Scorpion will attack Cicivexa next turn, and if he's right, he negates the attack and adds it's damage to his next attack.

"Eventful, huh?" "Well, what we're doing now kind of IS my obligation. The Precursors slated me as... Not critical." "So this is their token effort to get everyone off their backs about it." He gestures to himself as the "this" Law then points to the pile of orange metal spheres and canisters of glowing fluid in the encampment, which had arrived in a flash of light at some point earlier on. "They've been sending me supplies, but-" ...He shrugs. "I'm supposed to help, but I'm mostly trying not to panic whenever there's not some thick armor between me and..." "Everything else" goes unspoken, but heard regardless. "Of course, I guess in my situation, I'm glad nobody's after my pelt, rather than my head." ... "If you need anything that can be built, don't hesitate to ask. I'd rather nobody have your head, for either trophy OR non-trophy reasons..." Law's second unspoken statement is actually an unspoken question this time, as his tone lifts in a questioning lilt.
-
Law droops slightly at that. "It's really nice." "There's not any crazy cultists, or... giant AI spacecraft. The kind of place where most of the fighting you do is with the weather and the varmints! Hah hah..." He pauses. "You don't really get to keep a life like that when you've got obligations like I've got." "And..." He doesn't droop further, but he does stay right as he is. "You don't really get to go back to it when you know what I know." After a quick shake of his head, he puffs himself back up with some hidden grit. "But hey! Secrets of the universe in my noggin, and all I had to give up was hard labor? Easy trade, I'd say!" "...How about you?"

"There is no creature, bug or otherwise, that can stop our noble quest!" Cap says. "..." Cap uses Spray, throwing spiked stone caltrops among the enemy, lowering the Silver Scorpion and the Kofo-Jaga's Initiative by 3, and stunning them if this brings them below 0 Init!

While Cap stalks ahead pissed, Gozer simply floats forward, like an immobile chess piece, dragged by an invisible hand. Those more familiar with him might notice the lack of simple things he did before, like, for example, breathing.

Gozer just sits there while this is happening, not even the tiniest movements, not breathing, not shifting. Not even a rumble. For a moment, it seems as though Gozer's green flame will flick out, even as Cap is shouting at him, the look on Cap's face screams it almost as much as his voice does, his demands the exact same as Halhi's. "What is this?! What has just happened?!" Gozer fails to move, even as he responds, in a monotone that the gang has never heard from him before. His Green flame has changed into a simple, gloving orb, without any flickers or shifting. Like it had become a cold emerald, instead of a warm fire. "...A Failure." Gozer says. He doesn't elaborate further.

"You're a real sadist, huh?" Deadlift grins. "And the Meek and Innocent? The Civilians?" After asking, Deadlift decides he doesn't care, and waves off his own earlier question, before answering her. "I don't care about honor. Not really. I think it's something pretty that you can talk about, to cover up your own weakness." "I don't care any more about harming weaklings than do I care about harming flies and gnats." "You may call it restraint, but even a mad feral dog doesn't snap and snarl at fleas. It doesn't even notice their attack."
-
"It makes no difference, though. Your Muscles may ache, and your bones might crack, but your soul will not inflame for cowards and weaklings, would it?" "I cannot see how one's soul could be expressed pummeling mere worms, cowering in the dirt, no matter their size or strength." "And if it would, then you are better off tackling the walls." Deadlift says.

Cap's teeth grits, as this dark "God" ignores him. Gozer, meanwhile, just stands there, frozen, pondering. Makuta's words have no effect on him, but what effect could they have on Dackly? He needs to figure out a retort or- "Suweeeet! Thanks Ma-loot-a, being able to pierce falsehoods in your sight? That's easy money when you've got an eye on the prize like moi!" Dackly says, spinning the mask like a basketball, before plopping it on her face.

Law's hair stands on end as she calls him out on his bullshit, and his back stiffens, and if it wasn't for a thick layer of fuzz protecting his innocent face, a bright red flush might be spotted beneath. "We-well, I... uhh." "School!" He shouts, idea in his head. "I- that is to say, School isn't everything, you know! I, uhh, herded when I wasn't busy learning the secrets of science and the universe, of course!" He chuckles seconds longer than it takes him to realize that the chuckles do not sound at all nonchalant.
