Typically a Pokemon will be made available later on if you miss it. For example, in the Lower Peridot Ward there's a house with Whismur in it. After beating the first gym, the Whismur will be gone and can get an Onix instead. However Loudred is available later on, and I don't think there's an "expiration date" for that event.

I've played through with both Froakie and Torchic, and Blaziken is definitely better. While Protean is a really good ability and Greninja has really good speed, it doesn't hit for nearly as hard as Blaziken -- partly out of lack of good moves, and partly because of its stats. Speed Boost Blaziken is extremely easy to set up and speed up, especially with Bulk Up. Plus Blaziken gets really strong moves like High Jump Kick, and to a lesser extent, Blaze Kick. A wide lens can easily be used to solve the accuracy problem.

Ah, thanks. These interviews are so funny! I just played through the first scene with Lin again, where Sigmund seems to recognize her. Maybe she reminds him of Elizabeth in some way? That being said, Sigmund taking on ECT to "cure" people seems kind of odd. I guess it's sweet how he seemed to care so much about Elizabeth and the children in the the interview, but he is so misguided. I predict this Sigmund/Lin/Elizabeth thing will be explored further in the game

Shade's gym showed Lin getting dismembered. Personally though, I like her more than Solaris... Zel seems to be the most logical character to be killed off, but eh, she's okay too. The only people in the game I really don't like are Sigmund Connal, Blake, Solaris, and to a lesser extent, Fern. I feel like Fern is going to redeem himself in some way. We might find out more about Connal, though. There's a gravestone in Beryl with the name "Elizabeth Connal." Maybe his wife/daughter/something? Although I do hope it's not another tragic backstory, because I'm cool with hating Connal.

I'd say Ninetales works for a magician/wizard/ect. themed run, and maybe some of the others below. Gallade is probably more of a warrior though. Ninetales -- Pokedex entry "Legend has it that Ninetales came into being when nine wizards possessing sacred powers merged into one. This Pokémon is highly intelligent—it can understand human speech." Plus the whole mind control shtick. Blissey -- Probably would only work if you count "healers" as mages. Espeon -- Mind control, predictions. Gengar -- Might work because of its connection to curses, and looking vaguely humanoid. But then again, most ghost types can learn curse, so... Banette -- Same thing as Gengar. Dusclops/Dusknoir -- Connection to will-o-wisps, spectral fire, and mind control. Froslass -- Based off the Japanese yuki-onna. She might be a witch. For magic, maybe only choose the Pokemon with a strong connection to magic. Examples: Clefable, Starmie, Ledian, Togekiss, Banette, Chimecho, Musharna, Sigilyph Although if you decided to go with the guardians theme (like Golett) Sigilyph and Cofagrigus would work. I thought I would never beat Flobot. (At that point, my team consisted of a Roselia and Frogadier. :'D) Also, based on what Anna said about Charlotte having burn scars, I thought there was going to be some horrific event in the future where Charlotte is burned. But then, I realized it was actually in her past... I thought Fern was going to be okay, too -- kind of like Barry in the DPPt. But no, he's a first-class jerk. I predict we'll have the option of killing Fern in the future. I don't think I will, though, because it seems like there's more to him than meets the eye. My theory is that he's jealous of the player and tired of Flobot, so he just wants to rebel in any way he can. If he can't be the star of the good side, he'll be that of the bad.
