Actually, doing hiker tomorrow, i'm just going to give myself a pat on the back and get a nice bottle of orange juice
-
Next one I'm working on is female ace trainer.
-
It's actually not that bad. I just need to get rid of the white square around the head which I'll figure out how to do. Btw, this is the male ace trainer. woohoo! I think this is the design I'm going with. (After changing a bit of stuff)
-
Things you might want to know:
I'm young (but over 13)
I'm handsome (i know what you're thinking, and shut up)
And I've loved computers all my life.
And believe it or not, I like Pokemon.
I also play competitively, while being barely above average at best
-
now um, i tried seriously spriting and got stuck. I wanted to move an ace trainer head onto another body, but they were in different windows. and I couldn't. going to stop for tonight, and look at some tutorials tomorrow

Lets just say your first sprite looks much better than my first sprite did.
Like @Cool Girl said, practice makes perfect, and shading definitely makes sprites pop out more.
-
-
I already finished A sprite.
Not sure what I'm using it for, but it's definitely finished lmao.
-
Then again, I don't have the tilesets to map, or the program for spriting. Which I'll probably just ask people for.

Update:
Alright, so after having a burst of inspiration yesterday. I've decided to include 2 gyms worth of content.
So: "Interesting place", Route 1, Cave, Small Town, Route 2, Bigger but still small town, Route 3, Mountain/Underwater Cavern/Forest, Decently big city, version ending gym battle.
I've decided the gym order will go Normal then Ghost, due to the fact, Pokemon will still be limited, and these types seem like the easiest to beat at the beginning of the game. Especially with the types of Pokemon I've implied I'm including in version 1. I'm thinking up a custom field effect for the Ghost gym leader, but I might just go with Jan's and make a few adjustments. (While crediting him of course).
Also, all the music for the game has been picked out. So there we go.
Game will have 3 rivals. Which will be revealed in the development topic in MAYBE about a month. I got a month from a few estimations. (How long it will take to make stuff to introduce in announcement, etc).
Of course, Dead Zone Pokemon will be fought in the Dead Zone field. If that was to hard to figure out. BUT(Hole, hehehehe), all Dead Zone Pokemon will have their own signature move. I came to this conclusion yesterday, seeing as DZ Ferrothorn doesn't really receive a boost in that field. So, introducing:
Violent whip: 95 dmg, 100% accuracy, 10% chance to lower all stats. Physical Grass type move. Boosted by DZ field.
And, I think that's all I have to say today. I'll continue sketching out routes and what not. And then I'll get to spriting. And THEN mapping.
That's the plan for now.

normal actually is a really though first type, since you only have 1 type that's strong against it. and if you use jan's version please add some weaknesses to it, I have rage-quit rejuvenation many times because I had no way of beating that ghost gym(weakening the only stab type that resists it, that's just unfair)

Ok, i'm back lol. Say hello to my new creation
Dead Zone Ferrothorn:
HP: 95
ATK: 125
DEF: 160
SPA:90
SPD: 10
SPE: 5
Ok. So I won't cover it up. There's no use acting like it isn't. This is my version of a PULSE or Dimension Rift pokemon. Why, you might be asking? Why not. My goal is to create a game that's as real as a Pokémon game could get. In version 1, the odds are definitely stacked against you. You're in a plane that's crashed and you're in an area devoid of life. Also, you have never trained a Pokémon ever. Let's say an evil team has been plotting something for a while, and then you arrive and somehow pick up a Pokémon. Does it make any sense whatsoever you should stand a chance to this team and whatever it's been plotting? No. So therefore, this is a battle you are supposed to lose. For now.
I hope that made sense as to why this thing exists as soon as version 1. Besides, it's grass/steel type with 10 Special Defense. You can win.

this isn't to imply i'm not dedicated enough and I should probably give up. it's just i'm new to this and i'm having trouble with it, and I usually get "annoyed" when I can't figure out something that will inevitably have a simple answer I should've figured out years ago
-
Lmao, taking a break
this stuff is to complicated and I can't find a tutorial for me
and no, i'm not a brain dead turtle, but I just downloaded this recently and have no programming experience
i'll probably be back tomorrow, and then i'll attempt to understand this
Main problem here is mapping, because I have no idea how to get the tilesets from essentials.
-
Ok, but why is it that RPG makers default graphics are so bad. How do I change these. Do I create my own? Idk, I just want to remind people I'm here and I'm working on it instead of watching a 39 minute tutorial
-
If you had to make one of these Pokemon overpowered, which one would you choose:
Ferrothorn
Claydol
Cradily
Tentacruel
Octillery
-
Ok, so I've been tinkering around, and I have no idea what I'm doing
-
can I get some help repurchasing rpg maker, no questions asked, just please help. it keeps saying "Payment could not be processed, please check the details you entered", after I've checked them at least 800 times
-
So changes I've written down (Yes, I'm serious about it lol)
Taking azurill from the team.
Leaning towards jigglypuff being taken, seeing as I already have Zangoose's house field aerial ace, and pidgeotto's STAB, house field boosted wing attack to deal with fighting types
-
Will probably take away the items seeing as the house field boost will make it hard enough
