Flora's notes in the Darchlight Caves mention how she was interested in the PULSE project until she found out about how it affected the pokemon and sought to find a way to make it so that it wouldn't be so harmful. The same book says that the rift ferrothorn's second form was the result of it changing up its strategy after a few battles against the rest of Flora's team, so that's kinda interesting (to me at least).
