  1. You don't have to select the folder but the Game.exe. Basically the program checks if the file you are providing has a .exe extension and rejects it if not

  3. When I played pokemon emerald, I used to hate Zubat and Tentacool because they where everywhere. In any cave, every two steps a wild Zubat would appear to annoy you. Same for Tentacools when surfing.
  4. Why must I choose an Eeveelution? What if I dislike them all? My votes go for Serperior, Greninja and Rowlet, but they won't appear in the poll.
  5. Normally all pokemon centers and the grand hall are safe
  6. Each episode includes the story of all of the previous episodes, so by just playing the last episode you play the whole story. The difference is that some obtainable pokemon and items get changed from an episode to another, but there is no difference as far as story is concerned.

  10. I used to think that Tentacool's red things in its head where its eyes.
  11. Yes they do. That's a requirement of Windows itself. I mean, there is no way to have two files with the same name in a folder. Besides, reading the whole instructions is advisable: Import: This will open the window explorer to let you select an existing .rxdata file and save it in the program, so that you can import your previously existing save files and have all your files together in the program. Importing a file with the same name as a previous file will overwrite the previously existing one. Anyway, you should have a backup if you did erase a save file. Reborn keeps backups of your file every time you save since episode 15.
  12. I'm sorry but there's not much I can do. It's the first time I hear about that problem with my program.
  13. Am I the only one who thinks that if the plot doesn't support it properly there's ludonarrative dissonance in design when fighting against legendaries?

It is called “ludonarrative dissonance” when a game's mechanics and its storytelling are giving you opposite messages. I'll use as an example the battle against Kyogre in Rejuvenation. As a mechanical challenge, that battle is excellent. It’s a 1 vs 6 battle against a very powerful pokemon (680 base stat total) and 10 levels above iirc. However, if we look at the lore of pokemon, Kyogre is supposed to be an ancient unique pokemon with the ability to create and expand...

the seas. However, you just find it in a cave and fight againt it just because. It doesn’t really fit. It doesn’t feel proper. A fight against a legendary should be justified by the story and should be made epic, not just a puzzle, no matter how much sense it makes from the mechanical point of view.

Ahhh this is good points to consider for any writer or game maker then :). Thanks for being critical and trying to help people.

  14. It depends on what am I playing for. If I'm playing for abnegation, just to kill time, I don't care if it's the same. I actually want it to be the same, because I'm not interested in having to learn new things or master new mechanics, I just want something entertaining to kill time. I play League of Legends for example (which, in case you don't know, has a single map and all the games follow a similar structure), because it fulfills this function to me. However, I also like playing more actively sometimes. In this case, I want a game that will tell me something new. It's like when I read a book. I don't want to read the same book once and again (or read the same book but change the names of the characters and places so that it looks like another book), I want to read new things. I want to live different stories. And this is in my opinion the main problem of storytelling in pokemon games. They all stick to the same formula invented in Pokemon Red and Blue. The evil team. Pokemon games have been telling the same story once and again by just adding new pokemon and changing the name to the characters! I think it's good to try to push the bonds and look for new stories to tell. And notice I am talking about storytelling, not about game mechanics. I have nothing against pokemon's mechanics, I like them. It's having to live the same story once and again what pisses me off. It doesn't necessarily have to do with franchises. Franchises normally keep the same mechanics from a game to another, but tell a different story. Either that or they are a purely mechanic based games where storytelling is not relevant.
  15. There is, but she lost the key to her house and she cant' get in.
  16. I have no idea, I'm sorry. I would tell you to uninstall and install again, that's all I can think.
  17. Can you upload a screenshot please? Sincerely, I have no idea what the problem could be. I've tested the program in both Windows 7 and 10 in several computers and it never gave that sort of problems. I would like to see what error message you get and I would also want you to list me all the files and folders in the program's data folder. Maybe something wasn't copied properly. It could also be that the program is by default installed in the C hard drive, in Program Files, so you need admin rights.
