  1. @uberle Just non-legendaries (I hope my answer suffice?) You can mix it up by making them an Alter version. Mainly it's not simply what Pokemon you choose, but how you formulate them to be unique. Here's a fun fact about Catharsis: strong Pokemon who have high stats are often the ones who have a bad reputation in Catharsis among weaker Pokemon. Since tougher Pokemon tend to go around hurting others. There's exceptions though, and you could always formulate your character to be a unique one. You don't have to have a record of low morality in your character if you choose a Pokemon that is 'strong'. My Mawile started out weak in her background, but she eventually became strong (though she's got a nasty grip on her morality at times). @Dark Rogue Oh yeah I forgot to mention. You can make your Pokemon a Garchomp straight away if you like. You don't have to start from the very beginning. Since I don't know if the roleplay will continue that long, it maybe best to start off nice and powerful. That's why my friend Tatsuya is starting with Lucario, and Chaotyx with Greninja. You can write a background of your character's history in the sign-up topic that I'll post eventually, and that'll be good enough as a background. Edit: The Pokemon that can't be taken is Alter Salamence, since Avalon is the only one in the region that is.
  2. Hey, glad to see two new replies. I'll be discussing this with my friend Tatsuya and Chaotyx to decide all of the necessary components to make this RP work. Do you guys have an idea of what Pokemon you would roleplay as? o: Here's Holy typing, made by my friend Tatsuya. Be warned, it's seriously strong (I might change it):
  3. In the region ‘Catharsis’ exists only a population of Pokémon untouched by human society. It is a region that is bounded by a border which humans cannot enter in, a separate world off on earth that is only known to be a resort of Pokémon. It was a balanced region with Pokemon living in harmony, who was guided by the great king Avalon, the Alter Salamence with Holy/Flying typing. It all went into hell as soon as the region collapsed when the great king became missing mysteriously. Due to the missing status of Avalon, the entire region slowly degenerated into chaos where crime and murder were committed. Some inhabitants of this region are left with a motivation to make this region a safer place, so various communities of Pokémon are created. Each Pokémon in Catharsis strive and struggle their way to survive each day, making sure that the region isn’t taken over by groups of thugs and deviants who aim to corrupt the land due to the lack of a great leader. Even though bonds are made, morals are not at the highest quality in the region. Bonds are separated due to crime, murder, deviance, and unspeakable evil that exists. No one knows exactly why evil plagued the land, and the source of the degeneration. Why is Avalon missing? Why is Catharsis in a critical state? Can the communities of bonds restore the region? Or will the region will plummet into darkness? This is the story of Catharsis, purification of a new light within darkness. Some facts about Catharsis (Will Update):* Many of the corruption lies in the communities of strong Pokemon taking control of the weaker ones. Strong Pokemon were well-known in Catharsis to be the 'brute' or 'thugs' of Catharsis, and no one keeps them in check because many of them strive to rule over Catharsis, for mainly profit.* Avalon taught the schools of Holy and Dark. His main philosophy is that darkness should be known, and light should be sought.* There are many communities in Catharsis that wanted to restore order, but there are many organizations built by thug Pokemon who wanted to gain control of Catharsis. Crime rate is out of control in Catharsis.* The rare type of Holy-types exist in Catharsis, only belonging to Alter Pokemon (they can have other type combinations too, even without Holy). A primary example of Alter Pokemon is Avalon, and Avalon is the primary example of a Holy type. Holy-types are revered as indeed special in Catharsis, and many thugs want to stay clear away from Holy-types. Rules: #1. Battling in this roleplaying will be realistic. If someone get chomped by a Mega Mawile and they're not Steel-type, someone can die to that. The teeth will sink into the flesh and break the bones and rip that character apart. Or if a Steelix heavy slams a tiny Pokemon, they can die. Also, you can't generate a huge source of water out of nowhere and flood the place just because you're using 'Surf'. You need a source of water. Try to think of a realistic way you can fight rather than following anime or video game logic. Likely you won't die in this RP unless you decide to, though. Possibly the most is that you could faint. #2. Talk in the Discord chat to plan ahead with knowing what to do in the roleplay: https://discord.gg/NC4mhJ4 Being online at the right time means you can roleplay with other players. Sometimes I'm not online to advance the plot, so you can spend time with other players in roleplaying with them until I advance the plot. #3. You can advance the plot if you want to, just don't do anything that is detrimental to the entire plan of the plot. How do you know this? Simply communicate with me. If I'm available, then talk to me about it, what you're going to do and why. Then I can approve or make a compromise. If I'm not online, refrain from advancing the plot until I come in. #4. Think realistic in this RP, have a belt with pouches or a bag to carry your stuff around. Mostly you only need to carry PokeCoins, or have items strapped onto you for battling purposes. If you have trouble carrying items, then talk to me about it and we'll figure out a way to make it work. #5. You can post soundtracks or songs to fit the mood of the moment for the RP. Just make sure you are choosing music that fits the moment. Hi, this is a roleplaying topic inspired by Pokemon Reborn, Insurgence, and Mystery Dungeon. Basically, in this roleplay, you don't roleplay as a trainer or a human. You roleplay as a Pokemon, and Pokemon lives in this region as if they're like people. They have a government, they have communities, they have homes and shelter, wealth, careers and many other things. I just want to do a role-play where you can have fun in a really edgy setting with the degenerate region having Pokemon killin' Pokemon. There's Delta Pokemon (you'll get what I mean if you look up Pokemon Insurgence) in this roleplay too, but they're renamed as 'Alter Pokemon'. You can make up your own Alter Pokemon as the character you roleplay in the topic. And a new typing, which is Holy typing. I'll explain Holy typing a bit after I figure out all of the details. There's no legendaries or mythical Pokemon in this region, just your average Pokemons. But yeah, I'm making this interest check topic to see if anyone's interested. My friend Tatsuya (PhoenixKnight545) and Chaotyx have helped me make this idea, and I need to see if anyone on this forum wants to participate with us. Here's my character Minish, which I typed out: Avalon the Alter Salamence's profile: And Elysian the Bisharp's profile: Holy-Type: Main Characters in RP: Elysian the Bisharp (Spi) Minish the Mawile (Spi) Shirou the Lucario (PhoenixKnight545) Zed the Typhlosion (uberle) Sirius the Doublade (DigitalAmber) X the Alter Garchomp (Newt) Dominicus the Steelix (DemICE) Morgenstern the Alter Spiritomb (Cronos5010) Amelia the Glaceon (Anstane) Liri the Alter Mismagius (Newt) Serin the Gliscor (DigitalAmber) Shirone the Alter Zebstrika (PhoenixKnight545) Rivalin the Alolan Ninetales (Chromein) Cyn the Alter Lopunny (Amine Chankey3ft7) Make your character profile here... 4. There we go. I had to set it again (even though Back-Up said On) and save, it worked. Thanks.
  5. Yeah I found it. Apparently the game doesn't make back-up saves anymore.
  6. Some of my shinies. May edit this post once I check if some of these are already in. Here's the rest of my shinies if you need the others: http://i.imgur.com/ftcwfZ8.png
  7. For Reborn, I'd say my male Meowstic... He's the best lead I have because of Prankster with Misty Terrain and Dual Screen support. Misty Terrain has priority to get rid of those annoying field effects and turn the tables for me against the Gym Leaders or other boss battles that rely on the field to sweep your whole team. (Don't click if you haven't played throughout the game. Might spoil some battles for you.) As for the Dual Screens, he carries around Light Clay, meaning he'll help many of my frail Pokes take hits. I love my Greninja and Mawile too, but Meowstic has won a good place in my heart because of how it completely supports the team on his back.
  8. It taught me how good the potential of some NU pokes like Meowstic and Emolga is. Love them.
  9. Competitively? Mega Mawile (Minish), Physical Sweeper Latias (Layla), Special Support Greninja (Org), Mixed Attacker Landorus-T (Gal Gryphon), Choice Band Attacker Heatran (Husk), Scarfed Utility Tank Jirachi (Spi), ParaFlinch Attacker By Favorites? Mega Mawile (Minish), Jirachi (Spi), Latios (Arch), Latias (Layla), Greninja (Org), Garchomp (Mag)
  10. @ zimvader42 - Thanks. I like your Vanish one too. Glad you gave it a difference from other moves like Protect and Detect. At least it's not completely the same as them because almost every Pokemon learns that. Disarming Technique Dark Flow Soaring Icarus Made this for a friend... Glacier Gloss EDIT: Exotic Fungi Soul Retrieval Soul Fang This next one is made by my friend... Dreamy Dance Hope
  11. More new moves! Snooze Dust Devil Electric Wool
  12. @ BIGJRA - Thanks for commenting on my new move! I've used Mega Mawile plenty of times before. Usually when I sent it out, the opponent switch out their counter or check to Mega Mawile. And trapping that Pokemon in that regard isn't overpowered in my eyes. But this means if the move is used and connects, they won't be able to double switch out. So it gives you a free turn to pivot in what you want, I guess. It's probably really good for Doubles though, but it doesn't hit both targets like Thousand Waves (this move is very similar to it). I changed the move a bit to make it so the user can switch out after Mawile leaves the field. Let's move on with my two new signature moves I made yesterday. I made these moves for a friend. Dragon Fear Mermaid Beauty
  13. @ Nanami's Egg - Those are all really neat hazard moves and nice field changing move too. Grass types would definitely be used more for those Stealth Thorns. The way of the Whimsicott anyone? Sounds really broken once the double layer is set up. If they could be rid of by putting a Grass-type Pokemon on the field, people would just use Grass types even more. So I don't have any ideas to balance it. It's always a good idea to make new moves inspired by existing moves! @ MetalKing1417 - Yeah, that is true how there's not a lot of Pokemon with Rapid Spin and Defog. I like how you made a new Rock-type move, considering how there are a few Rock-type moves. I need to come up more ideas on making a richer variety of moves for types don't have enough. @Aegis - Nice, a Ghost-type version of U-Turn/Volt Switch. Could always need more moves like that. . I'm thinking of making signature moves, so far I have this one, which is one of my favorite Pokemon: Venus Vicegrip I'd post my friend's Aegislash signature move, but two of you guys already made a move like it for Aegislash, so I don't think I need to share it (it's called Royal Dance). Will edit in more if I have an idea.
  14. @ BIGJRA - XD Force feeds them with wild berries? That's a funny way to attack your opponent. I like the idea of this move. It's a lot like my Pixie Dust move, with random chance to inflict a different status condition. @ Lamona - Frost Wave deals physical damage but is listed as special? Also the Lazy Beam is a pretty powerful move. Imagine Genesect or some other Pokemon teaming up with a Gothitelle and the player Lazy Beams both of their opponents, oh god. @ Cepheus - Oh, okay. My bad. I'm a little new here and I guess I can make mistakes. This topic is already on page 2 anyways so just let it roll. @ Jaromir - Guaranteed 3 turns of the opponent not moving? That's probably way too good. Ice types would be a lot better though, because most of the Pokemon that have Ice in their types really don't perform well because of their weaknesses. But if a fast Ice-type attacker like Weavile uses this move, it can really be metagame-changing. Good idea though. I'll edit this post soon to come up with more ideas or if someone posts after me, I'll put my ideas. Aura Charge Masker
  15. @ Myst - I like that idea. I like how it uses the word pure and is super effective on poison types. I'd make that move if it wasn't already made. It can probably even be powered by Mega Launcher! @ InnocentBoy - Heart's Echo sounds like a sound move. Does it hit both targets on the field and makes Hyper Voice obsolete? Or single target just to be a different move?
  16. @ Jaromir - I've actually read a move very similar to your Corrosion move on GameFAQs. I first thought of it as really cool. And your move Soul Strike is so kickass, I love it. Very neat idea. Here's my new physical Fairy move, Fae Rush EDIT: Adding more... Pixie Dust Alien Abduction Thought Parasite Heavenly Blade Dark Dissonance Ripple Star
  17. @ Stratos - Scizor gets three nice moves, and two of them are boosted by Technician. The Vacuum Shield move is a little broken though since it completely nullifies fire-type attacks, I believe? I think it should half their damage rather than completely nullifying them. Sounds so broken as it is, lol. @ Darvan Korematsu - Metagross will finally get a great set-up move! @ YagamiNoir4896 - Does Technician boosts all three separate hits? Ouch... Okay, I took out Mega Launcher boost from my Molten Shrapnel attack. Doesn't seem like the attack that would get boosted by Mega Launcher. Here's my new move! Astral Projection Feel free to suggest some changes.
  18. XD The name star reminds me of Jirachi. Oh god if Jirachi has that move, it'd be too much!
  19. I'll start this off: Molten Shrapnel Type: Steel Category: Special PP: 10 (16) Power: 90 Accuracy: 90% 30% chance to burn. Serene Grace makes it 60% chance to burn. Available from Move Tutor. Move Tutor's a crazy guy that used to hunt Pokemon with shotguns and rifles and decided to tutor them instead. Some Noteable Pokemon that has access to this move: Blastoise Magnezone Evolution Line Registeel Jirachi Lucario Probopass Heatran Dialga Genesect Clawitzer (Add more if you want) Feel free to suggest some changes.
  20. Eternal Warrior Spi (That's my title as the Gym Leader) Badge: Faith Badge TM: Flash Cannon My team consist of Skarmory, Metagross, Aegislash, Scizor, Klefki, and Mega Mawile. First Match - Singles Battle The first match is Single Battle and has a basic team. Key (Female Klefki) @ Light Clay / Prankster / Calm - Foul Play, Reflect, Light Screen, Toxic Montalk (Empoleon) @ Red Card / Torrent / Bold - Ice Beam, Scald, Grass Knot, Stealth Rock Recoil (Magneton) @ Eviolite / Analytic / Quiet - Discharge, Volt Switch, Flash Cannon, Substitute Dark Flow (Male Aegislash) @ Weakness Policy / Stance Change / Quiet - Shadow Ball, Flash Cannon, King's Shield, Sacred Sword Z (Male Scizor) @ Lum Berry / Technician / Adamant - Bullet Punch, Bug Bite, Knock Off, Swords Dance Minish (Female Mawile) @ Mawilite / Intimidate -> Pure Power / Adamant - Play Rough, Knock Off, Sucker Punch, Swords Dance My Klefki (Key) will lead off the match, poisoning something and then up screens that will last for eight turns. Once my Klefki falls, I'll switch out into my Empoleon (Montalk) and set up my rocks. My Magneton (Recoil) or Aegislash (Dark Flow) will come after my Empoleon and try to weaken the player's team. Magneton is pretty good because it has Eviolite and can tank hits while dealing massive damage. Scizor (Z) is my first sweeper and will come in if my Magneton or Aegislash falls. The last Pokemon that will come out is my late game sweeper, Mawile (Minish). She is my ace and will have the highest level out of the team. After making the player's team really weaken from everyone of my team, she will clean up everything once she gets off a nice Swords Dance. --- Second Match - Double Battle The second match is where it gets different, where Eternal Warrior Spi has two legendaries on his team and it's Double Battle this time. If legendaries don't count, then ignore this section. Spi (Jirachi) @ Sitrus Berry / Serene Grace / Jolly - Follow Me, Iron Head, Thunder Wave, Protect Minish (Female Mawile) @ Mawilite / Intimidate -> Pure Power / Adamant - Play Rough, Iron Head, Sucker Punch, Protect Key (Female Klefki) @ Light Clay / Prankster / Calm - Foul Play, Thunder Wave, Reflect, Light Screen Husk (Male Heatran) @ Leftovers / Flash Fire / Modest - Heat Wave, Flash Cannon, Earth Power, Ancient Power Dark Flow (Male Aegislash) @ Weakness Policy / Stance Change / Quiet - Shadow Ball, Flash Cannon, King's Shield, Wide Guard Z (Male Scizor) @ Lum Berry / Technician / Adamant - Bullet Punch, Bug Bite, Knock Off, Swords Dance I'm going to lead off with my two ace, Spi and Minish, which both have the same level and their level is highest out of all of my team. My Jirachi and Mawile are going to lead off in my team, because I can't guarantee they would work together if they're behind in my team. What I want to do is allow them both to work together, with a certain strategy you wouldn't see very often with two steel type Pokemon together. First, Mawile mega-evolves using Protect and Jirachi uses Thunder-Wave on something. Then Jirachi uses Follow Me and Mawile uses some hard hitting move to weaken the player's team. (Also, Spi and Minish in my team have a romantic relationship with each other - http://spijirachi.deviantart.com/art/Mawile-Jirachi-541153735 ) If either Jirachi or Mawile (or both) faints, I'll switch out to my Klefki (Key) or Heatran (Husk). Husk's main strategy is to Heat Wave and Key's main strategy is to get off a Reflect and Light Screen for support. If either my Heatran or Klefki faints, then Aegislash (Dark Flow) and Scizor (Z) will take the spotlight. Aegislash will cover my Pokemon's back using Wide Guard, whoever it maybe working with. Scizor is actually my lategame sweeper this time, and once the rest of my team did their job -- Scizor will get off a Swords Dance and clean up everything. My Battle Introduction: "I'm a warrior of steel types. When I raised my Steel-types, I've always been tested for my faith in myself and my Pokémon. Now, I will test you... how strong is your faith with you and your Pokémon?" After Player Defeats Me: "Congratulations, you've passed your test of faith against me. You truly shine with your Pokemon. I can tell you that you deserve this badge. And this TM, Flash Cannon. Show them all the power of how you shine."
  21. Steel. Mawile (Mega), Metagross, Aegislash, Scizor, Klefki, Skarmory If legends are allowed, Jirachi (replaces Metagross) Heatran (replaces Skarmory) Other Pokemon I like but can't decide where to put them in, Lucario Magnezone Bisharp Mawile's the ace and my favorite out of the bunch.
