It isn't too hard. Your actual save file is called Game or Game.rxdata. The back ups created are much longer and have your name, badge count etc. These can be used to go back in time if you save and regret a decision/ interact with the stupid grand hall books. You can go back to a previous save by deleting the Game file and renaming a backup Game. To have multiple save files rename the Game.rxdata file something else or remove it from its folder then a new save can be played. You can switch between them by naming the one you want to use Game and the other one something else.

I'd go with a mudkip and evolve it into a marshtomp before you get to Julia. I think you'll have a chance to get a ducklett egg before Florina which could help.

Most people have a team larger than six by the end of their playthrough. I'd keep training up all of your team members. Kriketune is good for some overlevelled boss fights later.

Get a dedenne. Dedenne is the best user of pick up because it is the best pokemon to ever exist and you should get one. I love dedenne and so should you. It would be wrong to have a Phanpy when a dedenne is available. Have I made myself clear. If not I'll keep it simple- DEDENNE IS THE BEST POKEMON EVER! In all seriousness pickup is a very useful ability but I don't think it is worth keeping Phanpy from evolving for it. You can always get a dedenne breed for a new phanpy if you need more pick up. You'll also want to get a honey gatherer Combee at some point.

That is pretty much why I think Adrienn is next. Xe is the only gym leader that doesn't required a new area to be mapped (except for Amaria but she has a bit much going on at the moment).

I agree Ethereal Gates has great graphics (if somewhat incomplete). I disagree with referring to it or Reborn as a rom though.

Remember Oshawott. It was even worse than Chespin. I find Chespin to be pretty annoying but Egg groups don't apply. I'd also like to point out that egg groups and breeding in the pokemon world don't rely on love. In fact pokemon that don't seem to like each other very much can still breed so love and breeding seem to be two different things even in the games.

Gen 1: Favourite is Lorelei as she was the battle I had the most fun with. Least Favourite is Bruno. Stupid concept and easy battle. Gen 2 Favourite is Karen- duh. Least Favourite is still Bruno. Gen 3 Favourite is Drake. I like his design and his team a lot. Least Favourite is Glacia. A really boring fight for me every time. Gen 4 Favourite is Bertha- because she is the only one who I remember the name of. Least Favourite is the bug guy. Stupid yanmega... Gen 5 Favourite is the ghost lady. I found her to be a fun character. Least Favourite is Marshal (is that the fighting guy). I hated him with a passion. Gen 6 Favourite is Drasna. At least she was nice before I destroyed her. Least Favourite is Seibold. What a sook!
