I got Drilbur. My Excadrill is pure power. And no, I don't think you want Elekid. You can get Elekid later on in the game.

Not really a big fan of Pelipper, since it does have a 4x weakness to Electric-types, which are common.

Note: The Itemfinder will NOT pick up the Card Key Shards, which does make it difficult. Nevertheless, the sidequest is still worth doing. Jan told me what you get when you find all the pieces, and it isn't something you're going to want to pass up. I'm actually going to mention this to Jan right now because he told me that we were going to make a thread alluding to the locations of the Card Key Shards.

Crescent obviously has ulterior motives. I'm thinking she's secretly evil. Earlier in the game, I believe Crescent tried to establish trust between you and her by putting on this facade that she's a good person. I don't see her being with Team Xen, since she strongly, strongly hates them. In fact, in the newest release, we witness her facade deteriorating. Crescent is someone who's very level-headed...or so we thought. We watch Her hatred for Team Xen and her motives are still unknown...but don't let distract you. She is not someone to trust. -
Just in case you guys aren't aware, Valarie's Lanturn doesn't have Volt Absorb. But don't quote me on that.

If you restart from the beginning, when you battle her for the first time, she says the normal gym leader passed away recently, and her new team is composed of nothing but normal types, the type Marianette specializes in...so I'm pretty sure that they're the same person. Also, remember what happened at Angie's? I'm almost positive.
