  1. The Nightmare Before Christmas will always hold a special place in my heart. Say if I'm flipping through the channels, I can't help but watch Goodfellas or American Psycho. Terminator 2 is up there as well. Lots to choose from.
  2. Closest example you'll get of a complete walkthrough is shofu's playlist on YouTube. Though the first half of it is woefully out of date.
  3. Agreed. I think Saphira's action's and Meteor's increasing ambition for causing as much havoc as possible really illustrates how much the situation has deteriorated. Meteor's gone from causing overgrowth and polluting water to full-on bombartment of cities and capturing hostages, and it only makes sense that someone like Saphira responds to this increasing hostility in kind. Though I may come off as a pacifist, I do understand the logic in her actions, but responding to violence with violence only begets more violence. Actions on both sides of the conflict are showing patterns of increasing hostility that will likely reach a critical mass sooner than later.
  4. Blaspheming is not becoming of you, AG. May Bird Jesus take you all.
  5. I'm not sure what picture you're trying to paint putting Excadrill in italicized red letters. Is using it banned or something?
  6. She already has. Saphira is a ruthless example of consequentialism, but since she's an ally, we underplay the actions she's taken based on nepotism. Within the story, she was killed tens, if not hundreds, of Team Meteor personell with brutal efficiency. When following her into the Tanzan depths, she kills two Meteor grunts standing guard in the few moments she was off-screen. With Saphira, the ends will always justify the means, and that's a dangerous mentality to have in an ally. That makes her reckless, unpredictable, and impulsive. Team Meteor is most certainly the enemy, doing whatever they can to achieve their goals. Actions such as these, however, will push them into a more desperate and violent corner. I disagree that she enjoys shedding blood in the name of her family, but rather, she views the entire organization as an enemy that needs to be compartmentalized and dealt with accordingly. She's dehumanized any member of the organization as the enemy, and without a thought to the consequence or people she's crushed under the foot of her power, she's ready and willing to eliminate them (sometimes en masse) because they're perceived as a threat. Diplomacy has failed the Reborn region.
  7. The one I struggled with the most was Noel. Nothing in particular made the fight especially difficult, but his KIng's Rock Cincinno was more than a handful. As much as I hate to say, I don't believe I've ever had a "How am I ever going to do this...it's impossible" moment, and that's partially thanks to my Bulk Up Blaziken. If I ever hit a road block, I'd simply set up Bulk Up while Speed Boost bolstered priority. It's cheap, but hey, it works. Truthfully, the easiest fight I recall having was Charlotte, simply because my team had a make-up for hers. Having a Noivern with Tailwind and an already fast Excadrill made for Earthquakes all damn day.
  8. If Vaporeon had access to better TMs, I'd not only recommend it, it would be on my team right now. Toxic, Scald, Protect, and Wish is a great moveset to have on it, and it's mono-typing makes it really defensive. High base stats make for a bulky offensive pokemon. Alas, without manipulation, this moveset is unfortunately unavailable in current play. That being said, I'd go with Sylveon. High special defense and attack, coupled with the ability to set up screens and use Moonblast. Only weaknesses are Poison and Steel, and with proper IVs, you can put HP fire onto it for coverage.
  9. There's a lot of mixed responses here, and that's great. That's how it should be; both abilities certainly have their pros and cons. For this game, however, you're going to want to go with Magic Guard. That's not to say Unaware won't have it's uses in some situations, it's just that Magic Guard will be a saving grace for a lot of the field effects out there.that damage Pokemon. Rock field, Fire field, Blaze field, Sandstorm and Hail, Swamp field, etc. are all examples of field damage hitting Pokemon. Clefable is an amazingly defensive Pokemon that can either use Cosmic Power or Calm Mind to begin a setup on your opponent. WIthout the fight becoming a battle of attrition, Clefable circumvents unnecessary damage and let's you do that. My vote goes to Magic Guard. Unaware has it's amazing uses, but it's helpful scope isn't as broad as Magic Guard in PR.
  10. I always liked the name Molotov for Typhlosion. The back of the neck catches fire when it's about to attack, similar to a certain cocktail. But I digress. I normally like naming Pokemon after either their species origin, Pokedex entry, or simply their typing. Donphan - Kandula (the legendary royal war elephant of Sri Lanka. The name is unisex) Noibat - Caduceus (Staff carried by Hermes in Greek mythology. Depicted as a serpent, often with wings). Lumenion - Chae (Monster is based on a Butterfly fish. The family of the species is Chaetodontidae.) Kricketune - Viola (Seems to be based on composition? Viola's a string instrument, and the name if effeminate) Primeape - Thoth (Egyptian deity. Depicted as a man with the head of a baboon) You're on your own for Loudred. That thing's ridiculous.

    Skrelp?

I'm not sure about Peridot, but you have access to the docks in the Coral Ward where you can most certainly fish up a Skrelp with a Good Rod. Keep at it, you'll fish one up.
  12. Anthrax/Public Enemy - Bring The Noise
  13. The lack of development on an aerial field leads me to believe Ciel won't be a leader for an episode or two. I could be wrong, but there's not much to suggest finishing off the triumvirate in the near future.
  14. What a stellar effort by the Montreal Canadiens tonight. I mean, wow. What a show. They definitely showed up to play some playoff hockey tonight. I'm glad they saw fit to give the Lightning every advantage possible by taking a penalty every chance they could. I really think it shows how much of a contender this team is. I mean, they only got what, four powerplay goals? Fuckin' bush league; these all-stars eat powerplays for breakfast. Misconduct penalties are definitely good for the team as well. It shows passion and that "got get 'em!" attitude. It's not like you're a crucial part to the offense or anthing man, go ahead and get tossed. Take the rest of the night off! You deserve it. Honestly, let's go to Florida and play like that again. Bring the fucking golf clubs with you and save yourselves the round trip.
  15. Alright, so I'm trying to find the area where I can surf in Citrine Mountain so I can grind on Golducks for special attack EVs. I've attempted to find the area where you can Surf in the cave but I can't seem to find it. I've entered the Mountain from the Beryl Ward, right in front of Shade's gym. The same mountain where you catch Nidorina, Smoochum, and Croagunk. Is this the same part of the cave where you have access to water? Or is there another entrance I'm missing? EDIT: Figured it out with my super good brain.
  16. That feel when you're grinding in the Lapis Ward alleyway for speed IVs, and accidentally cause a Trubbish holding the Black Sludge to faint.
  17. Instead of asking yourself "Should I go to the gym today?", ask yourself this: "Do I want to better myself today?". Exercise is the best hobby you can have, if you even want to call it that. It prolongs life, makes you look great, but most importantly, it makes you yourrself feel great. The amount of benefits you get from exercise is honestly too long to list here, but the pros far outweigh the cons. 95% of your workout is getting to the gym. That's it. Just showing up. Human beings in general are professional procrastinators, and your body will tell you it's ok to relax on the couch all day. Your body will tell you it's ok to order (and eat) two entire pizzas. The junk food you're being exposed to, by the way, has this habit of releasing endorphins into your brain as well, which result in people getting hooked on the stuff. Few have the willpower to say no to it in your position, especially when you've approached your dad and has dismissed your concerns for the sake of conveneince. The big thing you've got going for you right now is the fact you're posting this here. That tells me enough that this is on your mind frequently enough for you to cause concern. Take me through a normal day for you. Just so I give you proper advice, I'm going to ask you a few questions. If you don't feel comfortable answering them here, feel free to shoot me a PM: * How long do you bike for? * What's the average amount of food you eat in a day? * How many times do you eat daily? * What foods does your diet mainly consist of? * How much sleep do you get on average a night? * When was the last time you've had a check-up at the doctors? * Do you have any other exercises besides cycling? * How many times a week do you go for a bike ride? * What kind of goals are you looking to accomplish from exercising?
  18. Well, my prior post shows the symptoms required to fit Narcissistic Personality Disorder, and Fern meets the criteria in spades. In a game where people suffer from suicidal tendencies, depression, and other mental health issues of the like, I found it likely that Fern could fall into a category of his own. Just because the game doesn't come right out and say "Yo, Fern's fucked in the head" doesn't mean it isn't plausible. To each their own, I suppose.
  19. Very interesting. I left it open to speculation; I wasn't sure who this person was. If it was mentioned somewhere in the game, regrettably, I did not remember. Dr. Connal's character is an interesting one, I'm excited for future development of the character. Interesting. This actually furthers my theory that there is something very unstable with Fern mentally. Often, many mental disorders can be galvanized by trauma experienced during childhood or adolescents that carry on into adulthood, but NPD isn't necessarily caused by that, as the etiology of the disorder isn't currently known. Many possible theories that contribute to the disorder do relate back to parenting styles and childhood experiences, but the research to this date is inconclusive. If you're interested in reading on NPD more, there's a peer-reviewed abstract found here: http://www.health.am/psy/narcissistic-personality-disorder/ To add onto this, there's also a theory that there's a physical abnormality in the brain with those afflicted with NPD. To quote Traci Pedersen, author specializing in psychology, science, and health, and using the Journal of Psychiatric Research as a source: "Researchers have found that people with narcissistic personality disorder have less gray matter in the left anterior insula, a region of the brain linked to empathy, compassion, emotional regulation, and cognitive functioning." More from her source can be found here, which is the peer-reviewed Journal of Psychiatric Research: http://www.journals.elsevier.com/journal-of-psychiatric-research/ Assuming Fern is roughly the same age as our character, it could be said that his disorder is starting to fully manifest as the game progesses. His growing ambition is starting to show, such as taking actions of joining Team Meteor, whom he perceives as "winners" and pushing for a direction he deems acceptable.
  20. For those of you unable to speak Dutch: Please look for that forum , I can not find that Heracross and Pinsir because I can get one such log off because I do not always with the same side so hatching such a map would tad really help and are greatly appreciated
  21. You're taking my words out of context. I never said that joining Team Meteor was acceptable, I suggested that Fern may be suffering from a mental disorder that has led him down the path he's starting to take. From the moment you met him, he's been aggressive and antagonistic to the player for no inherent reason other than to be antagonistic. Looking at behaviors like this subjectively, it looks to be the case. I'll, of course, redact any statements I make should he contribute to any sort of terrorist attack in the game, but as of right now, he's absolved of any crime. It's not a crime to be an asshole, and people wishing him to die a death for nothing more than being aggressive is ludicrous. For your second statement, I agree that we're playing a video game. A video game where it's VERY heavily suggested that real-life mental and social issues are very prominent among the characters. Cain's pansexuality, Amaria's depression, Adrienn's unwillingness to conform to social gender norms, etc. are all examples that many people struggle with today, and this game could very well be a medium that not only Amethyst, but those who help her develop this game, try to use to help try and bring these issues to light in their own small way. Why can Fern's potential mental disorder be dismissed where the others are embraced? Oh, almost certainly. I wouldn't be surprised if there were some dialouge between the two to cement their working relationship. Dr. Connal could very well be based off of real-life doctors, such as Dr. Jack Kervorkian. Interestingly, in the Beryl graveyard, there's a tombstone for an "Elizabeth Connal", which in the terms of the game itself, it's likely that this is either a close relative, spouse, or child of the doctor. Could it be likely that the death of this person has led him to more extreme lengths of trying to better the world? Could his previous failure as a doctor caused the death of this person and led him to try and take more extreme measures to ensure failure will never happen again? You mentioned before that I thought it was OK for him joining a terrorist group, but you contradict yourself here saying that joining a terrorist organization is essentially inconsequential, and that you want him dead because he's irritating. This doesn't, and shouldn't, warrant the death of a character. You go on to mention later that "evil" quests would be a welcome thought to the game, assuming that the character we play is just as morally bankrupt as the character you're wishing death upon. So, where do we draw the line in the sand? Does joining a gang and doing "evil" quests put us on an elevated plane above Fern's actions because we're on a quest for gym badges? Are we better than Fern? I'll state this again: Fern is an antagonistic prick, and nothing more. A minor nuiscance detracting you from accomplishing set goals and distracting you from who the real antagonists are. He doesn't deserve as much credence as many people give him. Villains in this game, such as Lin, Solaris, and Blake are guilty of far worse crimes thus far and their brutality goes largely unnoticed because Fern hurt our feelings.
  22. Talent doesn't necessarily pave the way for anyone to be arrogant about everything they've accomplished in their life; it cheapens the value of their accomplishment. It sounds as though your cousin needs a lesson in humility. I'm actually surprised at the amount of folks wishing a painful death onto Fern, or anyone of his ilk. Fern is an ass, sure, but to die? To date, he's done nothing to warrant his demise. If being an asshole was criminal enough to result in death, we'd be living on a very empty planet. To err is human; to forgive, divine.
  23. Fern displays consistent and sharp symptoms of Narcissistic Personality Disorder. In order for any person to match the criteria needed for a diagnosis of such a disorder, they need to match at least five of the following symptoms: Has a grandiose sense of self-importance (exaggerates achievements and talents, expects to be recognized as superior without commensurate achievements) Is preoccupied with fantasies of unlimited success, power, brilliance, beauty, or ideal love Believes that he or she is “special” and unique and can only be understood by, or should associate with, other special or high-status people (or institutions) Requires excessive admiration Has a very strong sense of entitlement (unreasonable expectations of especially favorable treatment or automatic compliance with his or her expectations) Is exploitative of others (takes advantage of others to achieve his or her own ends) Lacks empathy Is often envious of others (or believes that others are envious of him or her) Regularly shows arrogant, haughty behaviors or attitudes Pokemon Reborn is certainly a game where real issues that inflict people every day impact characters in game. I found it interesting how our favourite rival fits into a very real mental disorder almost completely. I don't dislike the man, I pity him. He's pathetic. As far as Blake is concerned, as mentioned before, he's worse. Dangerous, even. Through the brief dialouge and correspondence we've had with him in the game, he shows symptoms of Antisocial Personality Disorder, but it's difficult to say whether he fits more symptoms of sociopathy or psychopathy.
  24. I'm going to second this option as well. Crustles yield a high experience return for their level, and you get unlimited encounters. It's a fine balance between grinding and not overdoing it. Just watch out for Rock Blast. Also, they'll yield 2 defense EVs per kill, so you might want to be wary of that. Not a game changer, but it might mean the loss in damage for some of your team.
  25. Awesome, the suggestions for replacement are great ideas. Especially since I'm going to be putting Trick Room onto Chandelure, the playstyle of the three suggested would certainly eliminate the below-average-speed issue. I think I've opted to go with Gorebyss over Kingdra. It's high SA combined with Shell Smash could definitely help for setting up on some folks. Normally I'd love to have Swampert (Team Player hype!) on my team, but him and Huntail would take another physical attacking slot and leave only Chandelure for special attacking. If something were to go awry with a Trick Room setup, I'd be left with the physical attacking savages that are the rest of my team. Gorebyss' mono Water-typing is also very nice, considering Water types share only two weakness, and Electric types aren't terribly common. I've got another question, if you don't mind. Bit of a noobie question, but I'm just not entirely sure how the breeding mechanics are in game. I've taken your suggestion and I'm going to go with a Hustle Durant. A Hone Claws setup can decimate several opponents considering it's shockingly broad movepool (Superpower?! Cheesus Crust). Truthfully I haven't caught Durant yet, much less started the breeding process to add it to the team. Would I be able to use Drapion (or one of the many boxed Skorupi) to breed Hone Claws onto it? Or would I need to revert to an older version of the game so it could learn Hone Claws?
