[IC] Gaelach Basm: Varulv Amriya
Kurotsune replied to Kurotsune's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
(( Mood music: )) As all crewmembers step out of the ship you gingerly walk into the clearly abandoned port city of Sadullos, weapons in hand, expecting the worst to strike at any moment. A twin set of howls is heard from afar, and the sound of combat can be heard. "The wolves must be fightin' something, captain!" the first mate, Sting, shouts out as he drops down from the ship. "What should we do?" Asgall twirls his twin battleaxes in his hands and glances at his companion. "Whaddya think? Anyone figthin' the beasts is our ally, or at least a decent distraction. Get ready, men! We're rushing in!" And with that, Asgall rushes forward into battle, with you following soon afterwards...- 9 replies

(( Mood music: )) Kizaru Shoze As you step out of the door, you see yourself in a forest. most of your surroundings are covered by the dense, large trees, blocking off most of your vision. Directly in front of you stands an altar; At this altar, there seems to be someone asleep. A gigantic bubble appears in front of you: "Move your legs to walk!" ...I guess this is supposed to be the tutorial then? Is this their idea of a joke? Might as well get this over with... Fayth You step gingerly out of the door, finding yourself in a large desert. Gigantic dunes of unpopulated sand sprawl around you, and a harsh wind blows sand into your eyes and even into your... Undergarments?! This game just got way too realistic for your tastes. Way ahead of you, atop a dune of sand, you spot some sort of ruins... I guess that's where you're supposed to go. Oliver Confidently, you step outside the room to find yourself... In another one. Nice. Someone got lazy with map development. Either way, you squint your eyes to better make our the figures in the dark. As you do so, you notice the room is actually a rather long corridor, and something short seems to be sitting at the other end. It's... Waving at you? This is getting creepy. Squiggly Doodle Excitedly, you pratically leap out of the room! Only to find yourself in some sort of large garden. Flowers surround you, and their smell is otherwordly. Ecstatic, even. It seems to be making you really hyper! It's like you could just stand here and jump or dance forever! This feels great! Something catches your eye, though. There seems to be a flower unusually larger than the others. You wonder if it smells as good; Maybe you oughta check it out? Sattari Dawnwanderer You step out of the corridor to find yourself in an island of sorts. The water seems shallow enough, I suppose; There are several other, smaller islands, surrounding the one you currently stand in, which is really not that large at all, only being online to fit you and the seemingly mystical portal behind you. In one of the islands there seems to be a coconut tree, which would be entirely non-remarkable if not by the fact the coconuts are golden and the tree seems to be glowing. Well. Work a check, I suppose?

To the ones who weren't accepted, the criteria for choosing the five profiles was simple: A) Diversity. Originality. C) Unique power. D) Unique magic school. E) Interesting character personality If I'm to be 100% honest, Stratos was the only profile fully up to my standards. That said, I've no interest in being too rigorous with the judgement for now; The five profiles were considered the most interesting ones that I could use better to weave an interesting storyline, and at the end of the day that was the main reason to define if the profile would get chosen or not. Either way, I appreciate all the profile submissions, and hope your interest in the Summerland hasn't died off yet - There may be more to come.

(( Mood music: )) "Fair 'nuff. And what's your name, lass?" The gatekeeper asks, peering at Silef up and down. "Lady Asterflux then? Fine." The men shouts: "Soldiers! We've a newcomer!" With that, the entire barracks cease to a halt. All action stops, even combat, as eyes turn to face Silef Asterflux. "Get outta there" he addresses one of the combatants. "We're done training; It's time to fight." Ailios shows visible concern at the man's emphasys of the last part; "What you do mean?" She inquires. "Surely you don't mean to actually battle to the death?" "Of course not". The soldier scoffs. "That said, an experienced warrior knows how to not kill. Or more importantly, how not to get killed, Surely you trust your Lady?" Realizing that showing doubt would not aid their efforts, Ailios instead offers the man a confident smirk. "Of course. I was only worried we'd run out of soldiers to recruit." "Recruit, you say? So the General has chosen to do one of his "tests" again, has he? I see. Fair enough. We'll see if the knights are willing to follow your Lady." As Silef enters the cage, one of the two men walk out. The one still standing within the cage with her is a large man, likely around 6'5'' (roughly 1,95m) in height, with skin a deep shade of tan. His hair is jet-black, and cut in a fairly short crew cut, almost shaved clean. The man is fairly slim for his size, but his uncovered torso reveals that he is no weakling to scoff at, with a toned and defined musculature. The man looks at Silef in silence, and offers her a nod. The turns his back to her, withdrawing a hard-leather chestpiece from the nearby rack; He points to a similar set of armor adapted for the female form. "I request", the man says in a calm and polite tone "that you wear the same armor as the other fighters, and yield the same weapons. We want this combat to be fair, after all, do we not?" Ailios taps at the gate to catch her attention "I can keep your gear for you if you wish, milady Asterflux." Regardless of choice, the man finishes preparing himself, and turns around, slightly adjusting the armor to his frame as he does so, and taking the sword he kept tucked away below his arm, softly swinging it around to get a feel for it's weight. He then peers at Silef and offers her a small bow, peering at her with piercing green eyes. "I am ready whenever you are, milady." -

Hi. I'm not a player, so you'll forgive my butting in. The writing of a plot is a complex ordeal. Specially when you plan ahead, you tend to suffer from anticipation. If you go too far in your storyline and things don't occur as they're meant to, you tend to get frustrated and it can ruin the experience of the game. This said, your solution is a healthy one. My suggestion? Take it a step further and do a partial retcon. Since you like the OCs and the setting, why not skip ahead to the rebellion and write a short story detailing the events that occured, using the player characters created for this game? That way you're developing the backstory without detracting from anyone's experience from the narrative. Kill the game, but give it meaning. Make the time spent not have been in vain - After a while the world is as much the players' as it is the creator's, so that'd be only fair. Better yet, that'd make your future history accessible. People could just be pointed in the direction of the story to understand what led to the RP, and you can take your time writing it while people come up with profiles and characters get created and approved. At the end of the day, understanding when something has lived it's course is a smart choice, but rather salvaging what can be salvaged from the current storyline, taking the important bits of every character and creating a narrative that details what would have happened would make this not end in a sour note. It'd make people not worry about what would have been, and it'd make your story more accesible for newer players. That's my two cents. Sorry for butting in!

The men fight fervently in the Arena, swords clashing with clear intent to kill - They're either very confident in their ability to not harm their friends, or that hospital doesn't only see real combat wounds, you suppose. As you approach, the man standing in front of the arena's entrance waves you down. "Which one of you will be fighting? Or are both of you doin' it? We don't mind wizards, but don't be surprised if you're eventually matched with our top spellswords." ((Sorry. My free time is at an all-time low currently.)) -
Well this is the OOC for Varulv Amriya. OOC away! Do it here! Conquer the world! Wooo! I'm really sorry for the low-quality posts, by the way. I've even less time I thought I would.

"LAND HO!" The pirate sitting at the top of the mast shouted. "LOOK MEN!" Asgall immediately responded. "We're nearing Sigetto!" The captain let the ship's wheel go, the sailor at his side taking it immediately afterwards. Asgall begins to shout his commands, something you've grown used to hearing over the past weeks. "Alright men, prepare. Check our pantry to see what supplies we can take with us and what we'll have to throw away. More importantly, make sure you've space to ready yer weapons. Good chance we'll be runnin' into wolves at the shore, an' I'd rather not have any of yer sorry fellows dead jus' yet, aye?" "We're gettin' closer. Everyone better be prepare for when we're ashore!" ((We'll be reaching sigetto after both players have posted))

I don't know about randomizer ORAS, but randomizing Reborn would pretty much kill the entire purpose of limiting obtainable pokémon per level range. So... I don't think it'd be fun. As for the Nuzlocke, you can do it manually. I've done it. It's possible, if infuriating.

We saw your thread the first time. No need to post the sprites anywhere you see. Even less reason to ressurect a year-old thread to post sprites that have nothing to do with it.

Asgall laughs. "Fair 'nuff, then! Everyone back to their posts. When we get to Sigetto, we'll be in enemy lands, lads, until we get somewhere safe. So be prepared!" And so, ends Kal' Enendral. The day Iain was lost at sea would forever be remembered as the major catalyst for what future would know as Shion cogadh, the moon's war. The adventures of Asgall and his companions continue in Gaelach Basm: Varulv Amriya See you then! -
I'll get the first one out of the way quickly; I've no interest in the Destiny RP. Now the second one... I usually try to go in a certain middle ground about that. I create the basic setting of the RP and the mainland where the RP will be settled in, and let players populate the world in their own choosing afterwards, and often will take the lore they created and incorporate it within the main story, though usually in ways not really noticeable at first. If I'm to be honest, though, the two main reasons I do this is because that way I can add their lore to the setting after the game has started, and I'm confident enough in my ability to do so without ruining the storyline. Allowing the players to fully create the world, however, is the kind of idea that surfaces every now and then but invariably has the same result; People will lose interest quickly since usually the few good pieces of writing will be outweighted by the subpar material and create a mediocre plot. At the end of the day, it just won't work out. That's why when I want to try something new I create game mechanics which I think will be interesting. Creating ways to take the roleplaying out of the forum is not only an interesting way to get people out of their comfort zones, it also contributes to an overall more enveloping experience, as well as letting you have a deeper control of the story by keeping certain interactions hidden so they can be used in a later reveal for a plot twist or simply dramatic effect. In conclusion, I've tried working with five excellent roleplayers to create a world at one point and that failed marvelously, simply because the more authors you add to the mix, the more conflicting opinions you have. Each person will have their own view of how the world should work and those will eventually collide. As said before, worldbuilding is a difficult task on it's own. There are no reasons to add more difficulty to it.

He meant the salon.

Don't worry we're going to give Fern all the cool megas. Plus a mega ring that allows him to mega evolve every pokemon in his party.
