  1. Update #32: DAMN YOU AND YOUR LEMONADE, REN! Well, Ren wasn't too hard. I led with Euphrosyne, and he led with Sableye. Sableye managed to confuse Euphrosyne, and she began constantly whacking herself in the face while Sableye kept racking up damage with shadow claw; luckily, she managed to get one rain dance off before fainting, which was my goal for her all along. I then sent out Dionysus, who proceeded to make Ren burn through both of his ultra potions with a hydro pump, two energy balls, and a giga drain (although Sableye did manage to paralyze him before going down). With Sableye done with, Ren sent out his ace- Greninja- next, and I kept the paralyzed-but-alive Dionysus on the field. He managed to take a hit and one-shot the frog with an energy ball, which was a little anticlimactic, but oh well. I then switched out to my own Greninja, Achilles, while he sent out his Scrafty. Achilles bounced over Scrafty, causing it miss its high jump kick and injure itself, paving the way for Achilles to take it down! Ren quickly sent out his Houndoom, and I sent out Ajax, who proceeded to wipe the floor with the hellhound with a mighty aqua tail. Samurott OP. All that remained was Ren's Honchkrow, which went down fairly painlessly to two razor shells from Hippolyte. With Ren beaten, it's time to find Crawli... wait, Ren, what are you doing- NO! CURSE YOU AND YOUR INEVITABLE BETRAYAL, REN! YOU'LL PAY FOR THIS! The team so far:
  2. Update #31: Shatter Well, Rirrom B. wasn't all that hard. I led with Hippolyte, and he led with Yanmega. Hippolyte just barely survived two uproars and took the dragonfly down with two razor shells, prompting Rirrom B. to send out his shadow Vivillion. I switched out to Ajax, who knocked Vivillion down to the red with an aqua jet and a fury cutter, allowing me to catch Vivillion with a single great ball! Up next came Rirrom B.'s Wormadam, so I switched Ajax out for Melpomne, who tanked several razor leafs while spamming aurora beam. Eventually, Rirrom decided that keeping Wormadam out would be a bad idea and decided to switch out for his ace - Accelgor. Melpomne off off a dive and an ice shard, but ultimately the poor thing fainted from a barrage of mega drains. Fortunately, Triton came out to avenge her, and managed to take Accelgor out with a single surf, then proceeded to finish off the severely weakened Wormadam with another surf! With that done with, it's time to go to Crawli's secret hideout and get himm to battle us! ...oh, and in case you're wondering, the Dexoy battles weren't too hard. Atlas could tank a hit from them while Ajax and Melpomne could outspeed them with priority moves, allowing me to take them out pretty easily. The team so far:'
  3. Update #30: Molten Madness Well, Zetta wasn't too too bad. I led with Ajax, and he led with Absol. Ajax survived a night slash and set up a swords dance, then OHKO'd Absol while Absol set up a future sight. Zetta sent out his shadow Chesnaught next, and I had Ajax hit it with a aqua tail, knocking it down to the red. After hurting itself from hyper mode recoil, I managed to snag Chesnaught with a single ultra ball! Unfortunately, Ajax fainted to future sight, so I sent out Triton to take his place, while Zetta sent out Weavile. Triton managed to tank two night slashes and took out Weavile with two metal claws, leading to me sending out Atlas to fight Zetta's newly-sent-out Roserade; unfortunately, he fainted from a single magical leaf. Fortunately, Achilles came out next, and he took out Roserade with a bounce and an x-scissor, only getting hit by a poison sting in the process! He had a harder time with Zetta's Vileplume, though; after getting a bounce off, Vileplume paralyzed him with a stun spore. Fortunately, he managed to hang in there and managed to x-scissor the Vileplume into oblivion! With that done with, it's time to temporarily put saving Nim on the back burner while we search for Crawli so we can get enough badges to learn magma drift! The team so far:
  4. Update #29: It's A Jungle Out There Well, I've decided to get back on track and proceed through the story again. The Dimensional Rift Carnivine wasn't as bad as I expected, but was still tough. I led with Achilles, and he managed to outspeed the Carnivine before it mutated and got above it with a bounce. After dodging another attack by it and landing on it, he managed to tank a hit thanks to now being flying-type and managed to paralyze it with another bounce! He then got off one last (critical-hit boosted) x-scissor before fainting to a cut. I sent out one of our newest team members, Ajax the Samurott, but all he was able to do was get off a single fury cutter before he fainted. I sent Melpomne out next, and she did significantly better, knocking the Carnivine down to only a sliver of health before fainting. Triton came out after Melpomne, and he managed to finish the monstrous Carnivine with just a single brine! And with that... Nim gets captured. Jan, please don't kill off Nim in future updates. Please? The team so far:
  5. With my save file edited so that I have a Honedge, I'll begin my ghost monotype run of Reborn as soon as epdisode 15 comes out!

  6. Update #28: Unfinished Buisness Well, I went back and fought the Dimensional Rift Gyrados; I think the fight went pretty well. I led with Hippolyte, and she survived an earthquake to take off a third of Gyrados' health with a knock off. After she fainted from another earthquake, Perseus sent out Achilles, who managed to get a smack down off before fainting. Gyrados tore through Cynthia and Euphrosyne before they could get the opportunity to attack, but Dionysus managed to fare much better: he tanked an earthquake and spammed energy ball while Gyrados set up two dragon dances, leading to its eventual demise from one last energy ball. With that done with, it's time to continue exploring! The team so far:
  7. Update #27: You're Just My Type Foolish Valerie... you think the water is your ally... you have merely inherited the water... Um, anyway, Valerie wasn't as bad as I remember her being. I led with our newest team member, Dionysus the Ludicolo, and she led with Politoed. Politoed tried spamming hidden power electric and ice beam, but to no avail; Dionysus kept healing all of the damage off with a barrage of giga drains, and eventually the frog went down to one last giga drain. Her Lanturn came out next, and I countered by switching out to Euphrosyne. Euphrosyne tanked two ice beams, then put Lanturn to sleep with a yawn and then took it out with two earthquakes. Valerie's ace, Milotic, came up next, so I sent out Hippolyte to take it down. She did massive damage with a knock off, but then she got burned by a scald, causing her to faint within two turns of her being sent out (although she did get off one more crunch). I switched out to Cynthia to take Milotic down, and she managed to take the serpent out with a single crunch! She had less luck against Valerie's Lapras, though; although she poisoned Lapras, Lapras just shrugged off the poison thanks to hydration and OHKO'd Cynthia with a thunder. Dionysus came back out, and he managed to do serious damage to Lapras with giga drain, forcing Valerie to switch out to her Slowbro. Unfortunately for her, Slowbro went down before it could even attack, and Lapras went down shortly afterwards. Lastly came her most problematic Pokemon: Rotom. I swear, Rotom must hve had some sort of choice item on it, because it outsped Dionysus, Achilles, and Triton and OHKO'd them all, then just spammed volt switch against Euphrosyne, which did absolutely nothing. I didn't want to wait for Rotom to run out of PP, so I used a max revive that I had found while mining and used it to revive Dionysus, then had Euphrosyne put it to sleep. I switched out to Dionysus, and he managed to 2HKO Rotom with two energy balls! With that done, it's time to explore for a bit with surf and get some new friends! The team so far:
  8. Update #26: Going Overboard Well, Melia was easier to beat than I remember her being! I led with Achilles, and she led with Fortitude the Zoroark. Fortitude set up a nasty plot, but luckily for me Achilles was faster than it and took it down with two x-scissors before it had the opportunity to attack! Next up came her Yanmega, Hope. I sent out Melpomne, and she survived two ancientpowers to finish it off with an aurora beam and two ice shards. Melia sent out Diligence (her Pupitar) next, and I switched out to Triton. Triton tanked a bulldoze and countered with a mighty bubblebeam, OHKO'ing Diligence! Melia sent out her ace, Happiness the Togekiss, next. I switched out to Achilles, and he got off two smack downs before fainting to a barrage of aura spheres. I sent out Euphrosyne, and she managed to tank an air slash to finish off Happiness with an earthquake! All that remained was Melia's newest Pokemon, Hope the Gardevoir. Hope took down Euphrosyne before the poor salamander even got a chance to attack; Atlas fared a little better, getting off an earthquake, but Hope took him down with a moonblast and a psychic. Poor Cynthia didn't even get a chance to attack before fainting. Luckily, Melpomne lasted long enough for me to heal Triton back up to decent haelth with a lemonade, and after Melpomne fainted he came out, tanked a shadow ball, and ended the fight with a mighty metal claw! With that done with, it's time to get ready to take on Valerie! The team so far:
  9. Update #25: My Name is Inigo Montoya. You Killed my Father Mother. PREPARE TO DIE! Well, putting aside my burning rage at the fact that I wasn't able to kill Madame X on the spot, I think the battle went pretty well! I led with Achilles, and she led with Yveltal. Poor Achilles didn't even get the opportunity to attack; he just fainted from a single focus blast. Fortunately, when Cynthia came out next, she dodged a focus blast and proceeded to hit Yveltal with a swagger, causing it to whack itself in the face out of confusion! Not only that, but Madame X's Yveltal got frozen by an ice fang, giving me the opportunity to wail on it until it was knocked down to almost half its health. Unfortunately, Yveltal thawed out and snapped out of confusion at the same time, then proceeded to wipe the floor with Cynthia with a sucker punch. Triton and Atlas both went down before even getting a single hit off, but Melpomne managed to at least get an aurora beam and an ice shard off on Yveltal before getting taken out by a sky attack. Luckily, with only Euphrosyne left and all hope seemingly lost, I managed to find a revive in my bag, and used it to revive Cynthia! With Cythia back in the game, she set up another swagger while Yveltal charged up a sky attack, and Yveltal miraculously hit itself in the face, leaving it in the perfect position to be completely wrecked by one last ice fang from Cynthia! ...and then she sent out her Goodra and finished off Cynthia. But hey, I won a moral victory, right? Anyway, I'd like to take a moment to celebrate the 25th update on this thread! Thanks to everybody who stuck around this far, and I'll see all of you in the next update! The team so far:
  10. Update #24: Prison Riot Well, Neved was hard, but not Gym Leader hard. I led with Achilles, and he led with Weavile. Weavile used ice beam, but Achilles shrugged it off and knocked it down into the red with a mighty x-scissor. Neved used his hyper potion on Weavile, but it ultimately fainted to Achilles' furious barrage of x-scissors (although not before getting off one last ice beam). He sent out his Barbaracle next, and I countered by sending out Euphrosyne. She did serious damage to the overgrown barnacle with an earthquake, and when Neved cowardly switched it out the next turn for his Aurorus, she smacked it pretty hard with another earthquake before going down to a freeze-dry. Triton came out next, and he managed to tank an earthquake to finish off Aurorus with a metal claw. His ace - Froslass - came out next, and so I countered by sending out Achilles; sadly, he was outsped by Froslass and fainted from a single thunderbolt. I sent out Melpomne out next, but she only managed to get two brines off before getting paralyzed, and by then not even a lemonade could save her. Fortunately, Atlas proved to be way more effective in dealing with Froslass; he shrugged see what I did there from Froslass, and finished it with an aqua tail and a zen headbutt. Barbaracle came back out, but it fainted to a single earthquake from Atlas. All that remained was Neved's Gastrodon; Atlas smacked it around with several earthquakes, but ultimately fainted from a relentless barrage of surfs. Fortunately, Gastrodon was left so weakened that all it took to end it was a single ice fang from Cynthia, ending the fight! With Neved left in Aelita's hands (and probably going to die), it's time to confront Madame X! ...I am so not looking foward to this... The team so far:
  11. Don't worry, I made sure to catch two of them. Meet Jason and Jocasta the Slowpokes! Aw, thank you! That was really nice of you! Anyway, the Neved battle will be coming up soon. Stay tuned!
  12. Inb4 Eagleby18 compleely breaks down into hysterical tears of joy
  13. Update #23: And Then There Was Light Well, Madelis wasn't too hard. I led with Atlas, and she led with Houndoom. Atlas survived a dark pulse and then proceeded to OHKO Madelis' Houndoom with an earthquake, leading to Madelis sending out her Shiftry. I countered by sending out Achilles, and he managed to outspeed and one-shot Shiftry with an x-scissor. Madelis' ace - Zweilous - came out next, and I sent out Cynthia to take her on. Cynthia and Zweilous spent two turns dodging each other's attacks, and then Cynthia managed to get off two ice fangs before Zweilous took the poor shark out with a single dragon claw. I sent out Melpomne to avenge her, and while Madelis healed and Zweilous let loose a dragon claw, Melpomne wiped the floor with it using ice shard and several aurora beams. Madelis sent out Skuntank, and I switched out for Euphrosyne. Euphrosyne seriously injured Skuntank with an earthquake while Skuntank set up toxic spikes, leading to Madelis switching out for her own Sharpedo... which promptly got smacked with an earthquake, then went down the next turn to another earthquake after only taking out a third of Euphrosyne's health. Skuntank came out again, and the poor thing didn't even get an attack off before Euphrosyne earthquake'd it into oblivion. With Madelis down, it's time to free Alieta! The team so far:
  14. Update #22: Well, Valerie(?) was a pushover. I led with Euphrosyne, and she led with Alomomola. Euphrosyne stalled Alomomola out of a wish with a yawn and an amnesia, then began spammin earthquake until Alomomola eventually fainted. Sure, it got off a few wake-up slaps and event tried getting off another wish, but it failed to do any lasting damage. So, with that I've gotten my fifth badge.... oh wait, it's a fake. And now I'm under arrest. Great. Anyway, there's kind of a big gap between the next major battle, so if you don't hear from me for a while, don't worry. I'll try to update this humble thread soon! The team so far:

  17. Update #21: Living in the Present Well, Nim went by pretty well. I led with Triton and Hippolyte, and she led with Solrock and Lunatone. Solrock and Lunatone focused all of their efforts on Hippolyte, leaing to her fainting, but Triton managed to get off a bubblebeam unscathed, seriously injuring Solrock. Atlas came up next, and he managed to finnish off Solrock with an aqua tail while Triton injured Lunatone; Lunatone, meanwhile, completely missed its mark with a stone edge. Nim's newly-sent-out Malamar took down Atlas, but Triton was able to outspeed Lunatone and finish the moon off before it could attack. Nim then sent out Meowstic, and I countered by sending out Achilles. Achilles OHKO'd Malamar, then tanked a thunderbolt while Triton injured Meowstic. Nim sent out her Duosion, and it got smacked in the face with an x-scissor while Meowstic got hit with a bubblebeam and Achilles got poisoned. The battle ended when Achilles and Triton finished off Duosion and Meowstic with one final x-scissor and brine! With Nim done with, it's time to go to Akuwa town and get my next badge! The team so far:
  18. Update #20: Ghost of a Chance II: The Electric Boo-galoo Well, I don't think that Narcissa was nearly as bad as Marianette, but that might just be because I got lucky. I led with Atlas, and she led with Gengar. Gengar let loose a ghostly wail and raised its defense in addition to injuring me, but Atlas got off a mighty zen headbutt, severely injuring it. Narcissa spent the next two turns healing Gengar, only for Atlas to knock it back down into the red. Gengar let out one last ghostly wail before Atlas silenced it, leaving Atlas in the red. With Gengar down, Narcissa sent out her Chandelure. I countered by sending out Achilles, who did serious damage to it with two water pulses before fainting to a barrage of energy balls. Melpomne came out next, and managed to push Narcissa over the edge with a single ice shard. Narcissa sent out her Doublade next, so I countered by sending out Euprosyne. She then became locked into an epic struggle against Doublade in which shadow sneaks and earthquakes rocked the field like crazy. Eventually (and after several lemonades on my part), Doublade fell, leading her to send out her Rotom. I switched out to Atlas simply to use him as a sacrificial lamb while I healed Euphrosyne, and after he fell to a ghostly wail I switched out to her. She fainted after two turns, but not before putting the Rotom to sleep with a yawn, alloqing our newest team member - Hippolyte the Crawdaunt - to deal serious damage to it with a knock off. To my surprise, however, Narcissa switched out to Mismagmius, leaving it to take the brunt of a night slash meant for Rotom. Said Mismagmius then proceeded to wipe the floor with Hippolyte, but it didn't matter - Melpomne managed to finish it and Rotom off with an ice shard. All that remained was her Dusclops, so I kept Melpomne on the field and engaged in a battle of aurora beam vs. ghostly wail, with the occasional pain split to make things frustrating. Eventually Melpomne fell, and I sent out my last Pokemon: Triton. Triton began resuming the struggle that Melpomne had began, but with bubblebeam (and, after it hit half health, brine) instead of aurora beam; this eventually culminated in Triton hanging on with just one hit point until Dusclops fainted, earning me my fourth badge! Time to head on to Akuwa town! The team so far:
  19. Oh dear Helix. I'm looking at this field and laughing and crying at the same time. At least you can destroy it...
  20. Top Ten Favorite Abilities: 10) Fur Coat - It's like Huge Power for your defenses! 9) Mega Launcher - This is a really creative ability, and it helps make water pulse a more viable move. Wish it applied to more moves, though... 8) Thick Fat - Great for stopping those powerful ice and fire types! 7) Desolate Land - FINALLY, GROUDON CAN STAND A FIGHTING CHANCE AGAINST KYOGRE! 6) Pixilate - Have I mentioned how much I love fairy types? 5) Adaptability - The ability that redeemed Beedrill. 4) Trace - YOUR SOUL ABILITY IS MINE! 3) Prankster - It's creative, and really powerful! 2) Protean - Great for coverage, great for messing with foes, great for STAB... what more could you ask for? 1) HUGE POWER - This ability gives Mega Mawile THE HIGHEST ATTACK STAT IN THE GAME. How can you top that? Top Ten (Bottom Ten?) Least Favorite Abilities: 10) Normalize - Because coverage wasn't a thing you needed, right? 9) Illusion - THIS ABILITY HAS NO USE IN THE MAIN GAME. WHY? ;_; 8) Defeatist - WHY DOES THIS EXIST?! 7) Truant - See #7. 6) Slow Start - See #6. 5) Skill Link - DAMN YOU, MARIANETTE'S CINCCINO! GOD DAMN YOU TO HELL! 4) Aura Break - Well, this would be cool... IF IT WORKED ON MORE ABILITIES. 3) Arena Trap - One time, I got stuck in Rejuvenation for roughly ten minutes because of an incident with this ability. 2) Stall - See #5. 1) DELTA STREAM - Because Mega Rayquaza wasn't OP enough.
  21. I'd have to say the Marianette battle during my water monotype playthrough. It kind of just boiled down to luck. If my Sharpedo missed with swagger, I was done for. If I didn't get a swagger off on her Cinccino, I was done for. If her Pyroar managed to get off enough echoed voices, I was done for. If her Ambipom managed to get enough hits off (especially if it broke out of confusion after getting swagger'd), I was done for. If her Slaking actually managed to get off its lazy arse and attack, I was done for... you get the point.
  22. Update #19: Falcon PAWNCH! Well, Alieta was a bit of a challenge, but was still pretty manageable. I led with Althea, and she led with Scraggy. Althea just spammed rock smash until she eventually fainted to Scraggy's stronger moves. Fortunately, Scraggy's defense was lowered significantly, allowing our newest team member, Atlas the Whiscash, to swoop in and take it out with two earthquakes, making her use up her two hyper potions in the process! Alieta sent out her ace, Hawlucha, next, and I kept Atlas on the field. He survived two aerial aces and did serious damage with two zen headbutts, reducing Hawlucha to a sliver of its health. With Hawlucha on the ropes, Alieta wisely decided to switch it out, leaving me with her Meinfoo (which of course, got smacked in the face by a zen headbutt as soon as it came out). Atlas just barely survived a drain punch from Meinfoo (and by just barely, I mean one hit point) and finished off Meinfoo with another zen headbutt). Alieta decided to send out Hawlucha again, but Melpomne took it down quickly with an ice shard. Alieta decided to send out her Gallade next, and I countered by sending out Achilles. Achilles did a considerabe amount of damage with an x-scissor, but Gallade countered with a seriously damaging rock slide, leaving Achilles with just 9 hit points. Fortunately, after Achilles used bounce, Alieta decided to switch out to her Blaziken for some unfathomable reason. Achilles landed on it and paralyzed it, then put the chicken out of its misery with a mighty water pulse. All that remained was the weakened Gallade, so I switched out to Euphrosyne to take it down. Euphrosyne survived two psycho cuts and finished of Alieta with a rock slide, earning me the right to challenge the Goldenleaf town Gym! Time to head out and get ready for it! The team so far:
  23. Got it! Thanks to everyone who helped me!
  24. I got pretty close during my water monotype of Rejuvenation (thanks to hyper mode damage), but only got it down to 2/3 of its health before all my Pokemon fainted. If I had a 'mon that knew Protect, I might have been able to beat it. Oh well. Maybe during my Intense mode playthrough...
