No. Sigurd is your lord for the first half of the game.

Sigurd is the best unit in Gen I of FE4 until you unlock the Legendary Wind Tome, at which point that character becomes more powerful because no one will ever hit him (although he has lower mobility). You'd be thinking of the Jaigen, Lexi. And the only real Jaigens in FE4 would still demolish everything in other games.
