So, as many of you may know, a new weather system came packaged with E16. While the community release had some issues with it, we fixed it, so everything should be working well now, right? ...So, as many of you may have noticed, there have been a large number of topics around the forums lately regarding issues with the weather. We thought things were working fine but it looks like the system still needs some adjustments. With this in mind, we really want to ascertain what, if anything, is going wrong, which is where you all come in! I'd really appreciate as many people as possible answering the following questions: To be clear, these questions ONLY apply to time spent playing the PUBLIC RELEASE of E16. It would be greatly appreciated if you could add any further information, like ingame location and whatnot, to your responses if you can. Have you experienced windy weather at any point? Lots of people are reporting being stuck on the same weather for extended periods of time, have you, and if so, which weather? Does the weather seem to more or less match up with the TV report? Are you encountering any events that appear to be for weather that is not the weather you are currently experiencing? If yes are you CERTAIN you are playing the public release and not the community release (i.e. 16.2, not 16.1?) Have you experienced anything else that would lead you to believe the weather system isn't working as intended? Thanks for your input, we'll do our best to see what issues there are with Weather and try to fix them!

You can just start straight away with no transfer necessary, your savefiles carry over. If you have any trouble with that, you can post in troubleshooting and somebody will help you, but there shouldn't be any issue at all.

That is an issue with your version of the game, sounds like you're still using the community release. You need to download the public release, which can be found in the 'Downloads' section of the Pokémon Reborn tab at the top of the page.

But scripting will be finished first because, while this isn't a race, this is totally a race.

Just wanna correct this, 5 day cycles means stuff is determined 5 days in advance, weather SHOULD be changing every 8 hours. It was having issues in the community release but we thought we had fixed it for the public release. While some people getting large amounts of certain weather is to be expected, this is something we will look into in case things aren't working properly.

So I may have ever so slightly forgotten this topic existed but I remembered now and the OP has been updated with everyone that posted.

Yup to use online you'll need to keep your version updated, so you'll only be able to connect with the public release for now. We'll try our best to make it obvious when a new version is released and an update necessary.

Yup totally intentional 100% definitely not accidental yup that is case was out of the kindness of my heart.

The illegal mon system only explicitly bans things such as magikarp, gastly from wondertrade and random matchup battles, it purposefully still allows such things for normal trades and the like, if two individuals want to trade their unavailable mons, sure, why not. We just ask you have some respect about it, normal trades are designed so anything is tradeable and you will not be banned for doing as such, we just ask people don't go over the top distributing currently unavailable things, is all.
