  1. We all got click-baited by a post written 3 years ago.
  2. All I wanted was a Mega Raticate that would be Dark/Normal. There is still hope, right? Even if they didn't release a single new mega till now... and gave some pokemon unique Z crystal shit moves... and all that filler between the moves. Was there in XY / ORAS a way to turn off those animations? Unfortunately, all signs point towards this: edit: Did they really have to give Ratata the "evil mustache" to signify its Dark typing?
  3. The discussion on IVs is not about you. My reply explains their degree of importance to those hyped about the possible implementation of a means to control them. Your example of Weavile is clearly used just as a point of reference, so I'd suggest you follow your own advice there.
  4. Well, this is a bad example since you wouldn't be pinning 2 Weaviles to fight each other, and here it actually makes no difference since there is no pokemon that can outspeed a 29SpeIV Weavile but not a 21SpeIV one. Small changes in stats (and especially speed) make a difference in the 90, the 100 and the 110 speed tier where many fast threats reside. It's a mechanic that adds little to the campaign since EVs, base stats and even Natures affect the total much more than IVs, but they have some uses in competitive, where they do make a difference. For example, it makes a difference if your Starmie has 0Atk IVs instead of 31, since it receives less damage from Foul Play and confusion hax, but a difference between 29 and 31 IVs is not important. Other examples include stronger Gyro Ballz from Ferrothorn (0SpeIV, negative nature), extra rounds of Life Orb boosted attacks (29HPIV) for Gengar and other niche uses like Power Split. But as I said, those make sense only in the competitive scene, so boosting them to pass the campaign is not really worth the time.
  5. Alright alright alright. Easy Mode Normal mode: Hard mode:
  6. We don't need Solgaleo boys, we'll just line them up to face the other way #Skull_for_prez_2k16
  7. To those asking for megas, you should realize that those you want are going to cause a Gyarados effect for your team, and we sure don't want that. In my opinion, we are more likely to get the stones for these megas: Steelix, Audino, Camerupt, Glalie, and Gallade.
  8. Given that Team Aqua didn't know how the water cycle works, it wouldn't surprize me if their motivation was heating up / cooling down the planet. Sun: Solar panels and infinite energy for all!!!!1!!one!! Moon: Bro, you all need to think about the greenhouse effect.
  9. This discussion is steadily going off-topic. If you wish we can continue in PMs or start a new thread. I'll post a final reply here since certain points need clarification. It turned out to be quite lengthy, hence the spoiler tag.
  10. I must have missed that Hyper Training part or disregarded it as a new name for Super Training. Even so, an extra sheet like Reborn's would be nice to have since it's a fast way to check such things.
  11. I'd take that with a grain of salt, because it's normal to hype their games a bit more than they actually deserve. However I'm willing to give a little bit of credibility to that statement because of the abolishment of the traditional gym system, as they seem connected. What I wish for is that the evil team does not consist of a bunch of incompetents with Route1 fodder as their main threats.
  12. Team Skull wants to ... become archaeologists, so they'd have a normal job unlike common gangs. That rocks much more, ya dig? Jokes aside, we'll probably have a split story. In one faction they'd long for eternal day, thus trying to capture the sun pokemon, whereas the other would attempt to bring total darkness (for some reason) and hunt vampire bats.

I like how the Budew giant fades away, but I feel a bit weird about the sphere.
  14. Re-read what I said and focus on the "scientist" and the "breeding and crossbreeding" parts. That said, gene therapy is a process in progress without significant results, bar a couple of hereditary diseases like Cystic fibrosis. (for K_H) And No. Genetically manipulating human genes is unacceptable. Human traits are not scaled from 0 to 31 and most characteristics appear after a combined effect from multiple genes, many of which we have absolutely no idea what they do, even after the genome project was completed. The only situation in which gene manipulation would be ethical is changing the fetus's gender in a case of a 100% (or close to that) chance of it getting a hereditary disease from its parents due to its gender, with the pathological allele residing either on the X or the Y chromosome. That said, pixelated monsters are a different thing alltogether, and you can run battling simulations on showdown and pokemon online. For people who feel attachment to their digital pets, this could make a great difference, seeing as individuality is punished. Sure, many will soft-reset to get a mon with better IVs but that does not account for the general population who plays the game. The reason such arguments are heard more is due to the fact that people who tend to comment on the forums are more diehards (or addicted or competitively inclined) than the average user who is playing Reborn simply because he's sick of the simplicity and lack of challenge in the canon games (and many of the fangames). If anything, Ame implements it post-game. And that's it for the debate. @Ame, what led you to implement the Mega Item so early in the game? Most people expected it to be available right before or after the E4. I know that you might want to encourage people to use less common megas, but you've already made the Heracross and Pinsir megas available, both of which are currently OU material. If it had been Banette, Abomasnow or even Audino I don't think anyone would even bat an eye. In my opinion, it's not cheap difficulty if the gym leaders have megas and you don't, since we have been facing this situation with the PULSE machines before.
  15. What I wish for has little chance of actually getting implemented Visible IVs/EVs New Mega Evolutions I hope that the Z-moves are a 'campaign' thing only, or that they are related to the type gems (and thus just do 1.5X damage) Starter middle evolutions (keep the final evos a mystery till release day) NO MORE ALOLA FORMS ok maybe 2-3 from johto Difficulty modes
  16. Beware the mighty Poodle http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/randombattle-427798048
  17. Nobody takes it as a reference. It's mentioned in a single line, whereas all the negative arguments take paragraphs and essays (and multiple comments) above it. Not being able to manipulate something has its own charm. Leave your HP-type to RNGesus.
  18. Longing Rusted Furnace Daybreak Seventeen Benign Nine Homecoming One Freight car
  19. Steroids are hormones administered to replace testosterone and provide the athletes ways to score higher in their respective fields. The way this works includes stimulating the metabolism, thus needing lots of exercise to get the desired results. The side-effect is the long term effects on the body, since its messing up its endocrinal system and excessive use could result in heart failure or damage in the liver, kidneys and/or reproductive system. So, if such a mechanism were to be implemented, there should be a chance of decreasing the pokemon's HP stat or make it incapable of breeding. The plus side of a mechanic like this is that it brings casual players to equal footing with those using cheat engine to breed for IVs and moves.
  20. So you are against them not because you think it's ethically immoral but because you spent all this time breeding them. That's supporting the right cause for the wrong reasons there. When you breed and crossbreed for moves and IVs you are trying to manipulate their genes. When a scientist comes and does the same exact thing much faster and with much more precision, somehow he becomes the bad guy? It's one thing to protest against genetic manipulation by drawing an analogy with pets in the real world, and a completely different thing to dislike it because of the time lost indulging in the "traditional" methods. As of episode 15 we can get our hands on the TM Frustration. I wouldn't even mind.
  21. That awkward moment when a critical hit simply speeds up an already won battle, yet the opponent is so salty my blood pressure went up.

  22. The whole concept of Alolan form pokemon seems asinine, since it hints that those creatures will not receive mega evolutions. This hypothesis saddens me as I expected Sandslash to either get a 3rd stage or a mega that would distinguish it and raise it to a status higher than "Discount Excadrill". The A-Exeggutor is a prime example of a good idea done badly, since it could simply have an Alolan sprite, without needing a completely revamped form as a Dragon, which I believe is preposterous. I have to admit however that A-Marowak looks... apropriate for the Kanto story of "cubone's mother". Ninetails is... just fabulous. The change in type makes no sense whatsoever, but all points are null when the fabulus-ness overcomes any hater. However, given the nature of the thread, I shall provide a little example. Meet the Alola forms of... COFAGRIGUS and TANGROWTH!!!! Both pokemon have their stats rearranged, but the general BST or the respective values are not altered, just change position. Cofagrigus: Tangrowth I also found this gem
  23. If it didn't have Guts, the crit would do a maximum of 80.9% , since it does not ignore the burn drop.
  24. The story is already written. Each chapter (or episode) has specific content. For there to be more than 19 episodes, Ame would either need to extend the story by putting something inbetween two episodes. For that to be made correctly, it would have to not mess with the already established story and characters, but also provide enough content for it to justify a whole episode for it. Creating an extra episode full of sidequests and almost nothing contributed to the story is something Ame wouldn't do because it is just tedious and feels like its cheating the player from the whole experience. Come Gen7 and Episodes 17 and 18, the development team will probably find time to implement all the new pokemon, which means spriting them, coding them, and finding where to put them in the map. The last part is the easiest one since more creatures to play with means a more balanced way of building your teams and filling the yet undiscovered areas with uncaptured or rare creatures. Coding could also be done relatively fast. Spriting is a hard. Reborn has over 40 hours of gameplay, plus sidequests, and the goal to catch'em'all is also feasible, so you have stuff to do. Unless you are one of those who do speed runs and finish an episode in a day, you'll have material to enjoy.
  25. The chicken squad will take over the ladder.
