Owner's Market (Some people won)
NickCrash replied to Alisae's topic in Reborn Mafia Club's General Mafia
Who do you claim to have used the cop ability on, and what did you get in return, @Paul25 ? -
There's more salt on this than there are stars in the observable universe.

Well, the discussion seems to have been buried, but I found this article they wrote right after the 2nd suspect test (which didn't ban Hoopa-U just yet). Feel free to read and smell the bias all through the text http://www.smogon.com/articles/monotype-suspect-coverage-hoopa
-
I'm sure you have heard the general stuff about it. Long story short, it was already suspected in OU, because it kept destabilizing the game, and they never mentioned the monotype scene because they were all using it in their mono-psychic teams. Usually, when something is too strong for OU, to allow a suspect test, it gets quick-banned from monotype. They kept claiming that while it was a bit overcentralizing in OU, it was fine in monotype because the pokemon it could team up with were not possible there. People started complaining and the number of players dropped drastically. The rest started using Dark, Ghost and Bug monotypes specifically to counter psychic which got OP so fast. However, they didn't stop from this. They banned M-Gallade and M-Sableye which could counter such strategies, thus limiting the game even further. This resulted in a very plain monotype scene with the same teams appearing all the time, and people constantly leaving, not voting in decisions even if they had completed the criteria, and so at the very least, the monotype council decided to ban Hoopa-U. There is also a huge discussion with a decent amount of salt, but I can't find it right now.

Forgot to actually vote [Eliminate] Divergent -
That's what I was hinting at.

That's essentially it. Remember the council includes young people with short attention spans who saw no problems promoting their own gaming agenda against balanced play. Mew: 10 Jirachi: 5 Manaphy: 9 Victini: 5

@Newt get out of @Venus. I would like to hear @Paul25's side of this story. As far as I am concerned @Alistair is town. Dive is suspicious and while contributing, his reads are a bit one-sided. I would recomment his removal as so far he has been steering the town into the wrong paths and he has the ability to continue doing so. If he's maf, he's a good one. -

@Alisae that's really helpful. I've been using a notebook to write down all this, but you just made it easier. Alright something about @Mafioso Divergent's note is correct: I am not scumreading enough. Truth be told, I am not good at it yet. This (and Circus Maf) are my first mafia games on this server, and I am more inclined to trust hard evidence than try to read between the lines on what people write. In other words, it will need practice, so don't expect that to be too effective from my part, or interpret it as scummy behavior. I was expecting Drakyle to be mafia, so I am somewhat relieved I no longer have to doubt him, but it feels bad for another townie to die. As for Dive, I'm not sure what their alignment is right now. I have a neutral read on him, and a positive for Lykos and Alistair. As for Bazaro and Amine, I have no idea what their motives are in these games. They just follow bw, which is scumread (sure) or just lazy play due to no evidence. I mean, I already doubted Newt because of his jester-like behavior (I wrote that he wouldn't break character) so I'm not sure how to vote yet. In other news, I am glad to announce all the roles I enhanced were included in today's auction. As you can deduce, the less roles there are, the easier it is for me to include the ones town needs. That means, low chances for a strongman or godfather. -
@walpurgis I thought of that possibility as well, and I think that's what's probably going to happen. However, this means that the Reshiram path will be the empty one while we're exploring what the Zekrom one has to offer. We'll have to see. @BRS swag The way Ame worded it seemed like she thought I was demanding content and that she should work more (neglecting rl needs). If that's a possibility, then I have to clarify, just in case. If it's about Taka's life, then I'm not sure what the implications are. I mean, this path is an illusion (ideal vs real). Taka dies in both paths, we just turn a blind eye to it. Once again, it's just up to Ame how she proceeds with the story.

You make your game at your own pace, and that's understandable. I never meant for you to do it against your own life, but you knew that. I raise a point that others have before me, with a possible time frame for it to be implemented. After all the discussion about the dual paths that I've seen and taken part in, I was hoping you were considering adding a bit to the objectively empty path. You have said before that story doesn't take much time, so what's the harm in me suggesting it? If you are looking at my suggestion and instantly you think "hey this guy is attacking me and my game", instead of regarding it as something positive, we are starting off on the wrong foot.

Gen1 designs have changed. That says something, unless we're talking about gen1 koffing (with the x up top) or gen1 haunter, which still haunts my dreams. -

@Newt I am not sure you can remove the bid. Besides, instead of removing it, you could just decrease it. Right now it just ensures no other town can bid for it. Given that people suspect you, it's not a sound move to limit all townies from approaching the role. That's all I'm saying.
