tl;dr version for clarity: If there was a reference there or a joke, I didn't look for it and didn't get it. From the way you posted, I assumed that both you and Huk knew this joke, and it was meant for me to get it.

I was content with it being just an elongated "super" (although it was kinda obvious the playful writing had nothing to do with the character's actual story). There are so many different things from anime to "comedy-wrestling" that members of the community are interested in, that I don't really look into references and meant jokes on everything, for the mere reason that everything could be a citation or a hint towards something else. That of course would mean I just don't know Huk, but that's a completely different story. Didn't know Edge was popular enough to have people reference him. (shots not fired, because he could probably kick my ass)

I know it's obvious, but I need feedback on whether my assumption on Dusty's backstory is correct.

I really like the Beedrill, Blaziken and Aggron ones. In fact, I loved them! I don't know if the 4-colours-of-reborn is a good theme for many of the megas, but I like it for Pidgey and Metagross.

Well... Tomas wants us to believe he's the flying type leader. Mentioning the "wind turbine" was redundant, given "gale" and the "Turbines" in general were already there. So... either he tries hard to conceal the truth, or do his best to introduce him to the audience for speculation to come. Steel could be a possible answer, not based on the helmet (if anything helmets point towards rock and ground), but on the fact he's the maintanance worker. I doubt it, due to the type trying to reflect on a person's personality, and steel doesn't fit. Electric or Flying are the most obvious ones (apart from Grass of course, and Bug I may add). It is only Normal for someone with that dedication to acheive ranks in such a young age.
