    here's a little fun fact:

    In the Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's anime's second season (the dark signer season) there were two character who had their destinies changed due to the irl TCG. Crow Hogan was origianally meant to become a Dark Signer and Rua/Leo was meant to become the 5th signer. But because everyone and their Kuribo's lovd the Blackwing archetype, this was changed to make Crow the 5th signer.

      I don't mind Crow becoming a Signer over a dark signer, it gave the show some comedic relieve, and 5d's could use a character like that at times. of course it meant Rua/Leo kinda got screwed, he wouldn't be able to ride a D-wheel for the WRGP anyway, so yeah. GO CROW!

      If you look back you can actually see that life stream dragon was planned to be the signer dragon all along. Crows blackwing dragon was not a part of the signer dragons in the beginning. Also if the WRGP would happen we could have a more significent role for Aki which would have cemented her as the best female main character even though that doesn't say much.

      if nothing else, Aki was the first with actual character development. granted her opponents to that are Tea and Alexis so again, doesn't say much.
