  1. Perhaps, but losing money is just a tedious pain. This right here is what feels excessive to me: Unless I'm being dumb and misreading, his suggestion is to not allow the player any access to the department store until the post game should someone choose Torchic. I'm sorry, but that's just absurd.
  2. That's excessively punishing the player for choosing a stronger starter. What if they chose Torchic or Froakie because they really like those pokemon? (I prefer Cyndaquil myself) Also, having to sell an item you start with, without any hints is far too punishing to anyone playing blind. (Especially since the Ice Cream vendor ONLY appears during a sunny day) why not reward the player for choosing a weaker starter, rather than punishing them for choosing a stronger one? EDIT: Why is my post formatting itself like this? It's not something that's intentional.
  3. Sigh... I'm going to put in one last piece in my argument about Talonflame, and then I'm done with it. (I don't even like the thing) Talonflame doesn't get any stat boosting moves in Reborn, which is one of the major things that makes it so dangerous in competitive play. You can wave at it and call it overpowered all you want, but when there are other fire types that are hitting way harder than Talonflame ever will without Swords Dance or Bulk Up (which it would have no way to learn in Reborn, but please correct me if I'm wrong), and still manage to consistently outspeed the opponent, it's kind of outclassed. (Blaziken, Infernape, Arcanine, Darmanitan, and Typhlosion are all examples of Pokemon that do this) All it has coverage wise is Fire and Flying. It is completely walled by any half decent rock type, (which are fairly plentiful among team meteor) and while it's two attacking moves may be powerful, without boosting it's stats it wouldn't be hitting as hard as it's competition, plus it takes hits really badly. That being said, the absolute earliest I think it should be available is after Shelly, but the ideal time IMO would be in the forest near Spinel town. Should Talonflame ever be available in Reborn, it will not have access to all of the tools that make it OU. Again, I don't like Talonflame and I don't actually care that much if it ever gets added, but I just feel like I should give my opinion on why it would not be gamebreaking if it ever got added before the late game.
  4. "Adios Asshole." In response to Fern's usual "Later Loser!"
  5. Even without Gale Wings though, Talonflame would almost always go first against anything unless it sets up with agility/dragon dance, or has a choice scarf. In regards to Serra, aside from her Lapras and Cloyster she struggles with any half decent fire type, and until she gets a field effect to help her out she will continue to do so. Talonflame also has a fairly meager attack stat, so without swords dance or bulk-up it won't be OHKOing often. EDIT: Serra also has Avalugg which would wreck Talonflame. I'm not even a fan of Talonflame, but I fail to see how it would be overpowered in Reborn's enviroment.
  6. Talonflame is pretty average in game, honestly. It gets it's STAB moves pretty late, and it's speed is so high it's likely going to outspeed everything even without Gale Wings. Saying it's broken in game because it gets flare blitz with the move re-learner is like saying Typhlosion is broken because it can get Eruption at the same point in the game. Talonflame doesn't get any decent stat boosting moves without TMs/tutors which is what makes Gale Wings so scary in the first place. In Reborn, I'd say showing up in between the Shelly battle - Serra battle would be a decent time for Fletchling/Fletchinder to appear.
  7. I think Electrike should be pushed back a bit. It's a bit ridiculous in the early game. Perhaps replace it with Tynamo? Tynamo takes a long while to evolve and even then I don't think it's too good.
  8. One of the things that has been really problematic for Shofu throughout a lot of his recent episodes, is that his team is filled with either slow pokemon, frail pokemon, or both. Normally this isn't an issue in the main games because they are easy as hell, but with how hard trainers like Charlotte and Samson hit being slower than them without being able to take hits well is extremely problematic. With the way his team is set up, half of them are dead weight in a lot of these fights. For example, his chances against Charlotte completely count on him being able to pull off trick room and get kills with Swampert. Should Swampert fall, his chances will be slim.
  9. Not surprised with the current progress, Essentials updates really screwed you guys over. (And of course episode 14.5 took a fair amount of time) Each episode is worth the wait, and I hope development for episode 15 goes as smoothly as possible.
  10. Actually, that's not the case. Heather learns the truth if you save the police officers. If you don't save the police, she never finds out.
  11. I think it has to be before you defeat Taka and ZEL. If the deadline isn't right then, it's immediately after the cutscene where Taka and ZEL flee.
  12. Holy crap that was just brutal to watch... Shofu's team is so bad it's not even funny any more. However, from his comments it seems he may be willing to try rain dance + trick room, so lets hope it works out for him if he tries it.
  13. One of the major problems here is that Shofu's team is truly awful, and that accentuates the game's difficulty. If he had a competent team he would not be having nearly as much trouble.
  14. For me, Noel is probably the easiest Gym Leader. Granted, that's due to my Typhlosion always setting the field ablaze and then abusing Eruption + Flash Fire + Burning Field. It OHKO's Noel's entire team.
  15. If only Typhlosion could actually get Energy Ball in the real games... Hell, if it got Energy ball and Earth Power I'd probably wouldn't even mind if Typhlosion never got a Mega Evolution (Ok, I'd mind a bit, but I really, really want Typhlosion to get those moves.) Energy Ball for better grass coverage, and Earth Power because it is the Volcano Pokemon.
  16. Awesome! This was a much needed fix.
  17. As a boss, I think Charlotte's pretty great. Her team is brutal, hits very hard, and can stomp through her type's conventional weaknesses. That being said, one of her greatest strengths (her field) can be used against her, as your fire types hit really hard as well, plus Flash Fire makes things much more doable. (You can beat her with rain dance if you have a pokemon that can survive two boosted hits from her though) 9/10 for a boss. For how daunting she seems, we also get quite a bit of options to deal with her. (Funny enough, her nerf actually makes her a bit harder for me because of how I abused the sun her lead Ninetales used to give.)
  18. I just saw Shofu's most recent episode, and holy crap he got blown away. The only real chance I think he has is using trick room and to try his hand at earthquake spam. His refusal to look up the field effects and instead exclaiming frustration with them is kind of grating though...
  19. Chikorita isn't too awful from the get go, but it starts to struggle at the Japser Ward, and it will keep on struggling afterwards. I mean, most of the areas and gym leaders afterwards either resist Grass, or are super effective against Grass. If you want an easier time, Blaziken and Infernape are pretty great. However, Typhlosion gets some bonus utility as well, due to Eruption both trigging the Burning Field arena effect in a number of areas, and quite a few gym leaders being double battles.
  20. Abilities: Contrary Deoxys Adaptability Infernape Huge Power Entei Wonderguard Jolteon Flash Fire Ferrothorn Speed Boost Regigigas Moves: Shift Gear Regirock (Shift Gear + Drain Punch + Regirock's Bulk = Fun Times ahead) Geomancy Raikou V-Create Malamar ... And that's all I've got at the moment...
  21. Ever since I did the B(?) route during the team up with Cain (fighting Sirius instead of Sigmund in a double battle), the added info and dialogue I got from Sigmund made me think he's more misguided and kind of crazy, rather than outright evil. Well, we do only see Solaris when we are in direct opposition to him so we don't have much to go on, but I'd assume from the Meteor grunts complaining about Lin that Solaris treated those loyal to Team Meteor well. I mean when you raid the Blackwater Factory (I believe it's called that, in case I screwed up the name Amaria lends a hand there) Solaris doesn't go ballistic on his followers, meanwhile in the Tanzan Base Sirius covers for the player when Lin arrives, very likely in fear of what she would do to him if she knew he let an intruder in and ZEL also complies to this. I think that shows that Lin at the very least, treats her subordinates quite poorly, or is very unforgiving.
  22. Oh yeah, I forgot about that. Definitely is quite suspicious. Terra being a part of Team Meteor makes a lot of sense in hindsight, and I was legitimately taken aback when I found that out. Definitely looking forward to what comes next!
  23. Terra's Garchomp was a bit of trouble for me, as her terrain gets rid of the special/physical split so my Feraligatr couldn't really be used effectively due to it's moveset being turned into special attacks. Thankfully my Typhlosion (Eruption and HP Grass FTW), Gardevoir, and Honchkrow were able to combat the rest of her team. (I didn't bring Hitmonlee because I needed a Surf user, so I had a Mudkip on my team, which obviously did nothing)
  24. Episode 14 is pretty great! It definitely was worth the wait. (Is it bad that I was more hyped for episode 14 than I was for OR/AS?)
  25. I think team meteor is pretty cool. The Admins are nothing to scoff at and feel legitimately threatening from both a story and gameplay perspective. (I don't even have to mention Solaris, and I personally find the Sirius double battle with Cain and the Sigmund single battle to be some of the harder fights in the game) The grunts, while some of them are goofy and some are serious, are all pretty competent. I mean their not necessarily hard, but it's pretty clear from their team composition (While not amazing, still much better than anything we've seen from a villainous team in the official games) and levels that the Meteor Grunts alone could steamroll most, if not all of the villainous teams in the official games. (Admins and Leaders included)
