  1. Upon completion of Episode 14.6, you can access Eclipse's room. Not sure if it depends on the story path, as I have only gone down the path where:
  2. You can find Nidoran or Zubat in Byxbsion Wasteland if you want to replace Swalot with another poison type.
  3. I've mistaken this for the search bar about 5 times today...

  4. Having Pokemon follow you would be awesome, but that'd come with the issue of making overworld sprites for all of the gen 5 and 6 Pokemon, so if it were ever added I'd imagine it would take a lot of effort to implement. I don't think it would cause lag though.
  5. I wouldn't be adverse to seeing characters from the main games make an appearance, (I'd still rather have them not appear) but the only cameo I actually want to see would be Mirror B, most likely in the nightclub.
  6. It gets bulk up by leveling, so that adds to it's power.
  7. Gah, it's gonna snow again tonight. Finally thought Winter was over here...

  8. Bulbasaur is ok against Corey though. I mean, he can take some hits... (Aside from Crobat, and Skuntank)
  9. Hardest Gym Leader for me... That's actually hard for me to say because my team is usually equipped the point where most battles are moderately challenging (Aya, Corey, Shade, Kiki, etc), or complete pushovers (Shelly, Florinia, Noel, Radomus, etc). This doesn't count as a Gym Leader, but Sigmund and Sirius are usually the hardest fights in the game for me, for whatever reason. With field effects, I'd put Typhlosion easily into the top 5 starters in the game, (I personally rank him 2nd or 3rd, behind Blaziken and maybe Infernape) and the top 5 fire types.
  10. Unevolved Pokemon above level 50 are all over the place in Reborn. Just run around Route 1, Route 3, Route 4, and Ametrine Cave and you'll see plenty of unevolved Pokemon above level 50. Think about it like this. What if a player just can't beat Charlotte? How do you think they'd feel if their only option of continuing the game is catching a level 30 Spheal or two (or heatproof bronzor) and training them to level 60+, especially when the Pokemon they would be able to find give piss poor experience or OHKO the Spheal? I would be far from surprised if they decided to quit, or start a new file. (If you think that would be the proper way to go about things, you are dead wrong) Having higher level'd Pokemon (Both wild and event) allows for much more experimentation with different Pokemon, (which promotes diversity!) as you'd have to commit way less time to see if you like the Pokemon and if it will keep a spot on your team. Sentimental attachment to forced grinding should not be allowed to cause the game's quality to suffer.
  11. More options = the ability to satisfy more people. Since common candies are a thing, if levels were raised people who like to grind can grind. People who don't like to grind can skip it for the most part, but still get rewarded for doing side quests.
  12. I do agree that Elekid and Magby should come earlier. Maybe you could find Elekid around Shade's gym (only after Shelly has been beaten), and Magby in Pyrous Mountain? I feel both the areas and the timing would make sense for these two Pokemon. As it stands now, they come waaaay too late.
  13. Yeah, I know that. It's just an example of an event Pokemon actually feeling like a reward for something. I'd be totally cool with lowering it's level a bit as it's level is very high for when you get it.
  14. Well, you ninja'd me... I mean, most wild Pokemon are fodder, regardless of how you try to implement them. It's just how the game goes, as Game Freak has done a piss poor job of balancing Pokemon. In most cases though, anyone who isn't super grind happy is just going to ignore most of the events thrown at the player, which makes the effort to promote these underused Pokemon null and void, at least to that player. It's just not a rewarding feeling to navigate my way through the forest on Route 1 to get a Heracross, (Not an underused Pokemon, but the point still stands) only to get it at level 30 (or something similar) when I had been fighting level 50 Heracross or generic wild Pokemon at level 50. It actually put a bad taste in my mouth, and I had felt that I had wasted a good few hours of my time navigating those hellish woods. It wasn't a reward at all, and I put a lot of work into getting that Heracross. I just feel like that's how a lot of people who pick up the game will feel, especially when the early game has some event Pokemon like Lillipup (Usable from the get go, but doesn't dominate) and Electrike that really feel like rewards for whatever trouble the player has gone through to get them. (Or lack thereof in Electrike's case)
  15. When in a lot of cases generic wild Pokemon straight up outclass Pokemon that are meant as rewards, there is a problem, no?
  16. You're joking, right? Of course the Pokemon don't die. Forcing grinding is not good game design. It's just a way to make the game more tedious with no strategy at all. It's why we've gotten the new EXP share in the main games, however flawed it may be. (I'm not suggesting adding it to Reborn, but just saying.) why not make the requirements to get the event Pokemon more challenging? Also, event Pokemon are rewards for side questing. Right now it's almost like Final Fantasy 13 (That game is awful) where you'll have upgraded your weapon, get excited when you find a new weapon, but find out that it's much weaker than your current weapon because you have worked on your current weapon. Sure it can become better after a lot of time investment, but your current weapon can see you through the game. This shiny new treasure, has literally become vendor trash with little incentive to use it. Right now in Reborn, most of the event Pokemon after the Onyx ward are that vendor trash. It's making the variety that we've praised this game for meaningless. I really do enjoy Reborn, but I feel that the game gives absolutely no incentive to add any new party members after Byxbsion Wasteland.
  17. It's surprising to see so many people arguing for grinding here. I've literally never seen a game praised for forcing the player to grind if they want to proceed/use a new option available to them, (in fact, that's almost always considered a very bad thing) and games are often praised for not forcing it/giving the player alternate, more rewarding methods of getting stronger. (EX: Exploring in Xenoblade Chronicles) It's one of the things that turns a lot of people off games like the Shin Megami Tensei series, where you often have to grind just to not get killed by the next boss in one hit. Grinding also breaks the flow of the story, in almost every game that you can grind in. "Oh, the orphanage kids have been kidnapped? Let me go grind up 3 new team members before going off to rescue them, it's no big deal." There has been no arguments against the fact that option B does give people the most options on how they want to play the game. Option A forces people who aren't grind happy to completely ignore their reward, or waste their time in boredom. While people who insist on grinding can lower the Pokemon's level, or breed a new one. Yet, I fail to see how committing genocide on the local wildlife for a good 5 hours is bonding.
  18. No. You're completely wrong about this. Should I want to use an event Pokemon that happens to be at a low level, I am forced to waste hours of my time grinding it up to the point where it doesn't get slaughtered by every opponent I face. If for whatever reason you have such a huge problem with an event Pokemon you want to use coming at a usable level, you can either: Use it as is, lower it's level via common candies, or breed a new one. It's clear as day which one gives more options, so no, it's not equal. I'm being made to waste my time if I want to use a low level Pokemon. You're choosing to waste your time because you have a problem with actually being able to use a Pokemon out of the box.
  19. Event Pokemon are rewards for side questing though, and we're not asking for them to dominate from the get go, (Especially since they would not have any EVs, and will need to work on their movesets) just be usable from the start and be able to catch up without grinding for 5 hours. Around a majority of the event Pokemon aren't worth using at all, as their levels are so low, and in some cases you can even find Pokemon that do the same job but are at a somewhat usable level right next to them. For example, you can get a level 15 Scraggy (after Shelly) for defeating 3 high level'd Pangoros when you can get a level 25 Pancham in the same area, without having to deal with the 3 Pangoros. The Pancham is somewhat usable and will only take about 7 levels to get up to speed with the rest of the party, which it would easily gain during the raid on Sigmund's orphanage. (By letting Shelly's Pokemon do most of the work) Would you agree that in this situation Scraggy seems like much more trouble than it's worth, especially when Pancham can become about as strong, but with much less effort? Not the best example because it's pretty early on, but this issue becomes much more prominent as the game goes on. TLDR: I feel like a lot event Pokemon have far more negatives to them than positives because of their extremely low level, and are often outclassed by Pokemon you can just get through random encounters for much less effort.
  20. Fire: Typhlosion Water: Feraligatr Electric: Electivire Ground: Swampert Psychic: Deoxys Dark: Honchkrow Steel: Bisharp Fighting: Pangoro Fairy: Gardevoir Normal: Stoutland Grass: Shiftry Dragon: Zekrom Poison: Roserade Ghost: Aegislash Bug: Volcarona Rock: Regirock Flying: Charizard Ice: Beartic
  21. If you want event Pokemon to be at such a low level that they are unusable without a ton of grinding, common candies are your friend. For a person such as myself who would prefer to keep grinding to a minimum, anything that isn't at a reasonable level after Byxbysion Wasteland is almost certainly going to go unused. (The Partner double battles with Cain at Yureyu are enough to get the Mudkip you find in Byxbsion Wasteland up to speed, but after that there's no point in the game that grinding isn't super time consuming) Event Pokemon should be a reward for exploring, not a chore that you are very likely to ignore in favor of your current team members. Even in Reborn, there are wild NFE Pokemon that are well beyond the level that they would normally evolve (remember the level 50 Ekans on route 1?), so event Pokemon doing this shouldn't be a massive deal. I'm not asking for event Pokemon to be able to trash regular trainers, I'm just asking for event Pokemon to be usable without having to devote 5 hours of my time to leveling it up. Especially since Reborn doesn't exactly have many good places to grind. Not equal at all. We'd be forced to grind if we want to use a low level event Pokemon. You could choose to use common candies if getting an event Pokemon at such a low level that it's unusable matters to you.
  22. I say coming at a high level and unevolved would be best. As the game goes on we're less likely to want to pick up a new team member, especially if they are level 5 and our team is well in the 80's or even the 90's. (In future episodes of course) Let's face it, almost no one would use a level 5 Dratini if we got it after Terra. It's really, really time consuming, and in a lot of cases not worth it. I'm fine with options B, C, and D in regards to egg moves.
  23. Crobat is good, and Mega Camerupt is alright as well. Weezing and Mightyena are really awful, even with the right movepool and EV spread. I mean I know it's for kids, but N and Ghetsis had pretty decent teams, at least for in game bosses. Maxie and Archie should have had 6 decent Pokemon. But anyways, I'm glad Reborn isn't limiting their villains team admins to only using specific types. Even the Meteor grunts have more variance than Maxie or Archie.
  24. I've played both sides (I was pretty bad my first time through, and actually couldn't find the Magma hideout until it was time to confront Maxwell) and I usually go for Magma nowadays. I find the team members more amusing, and I preferred Maxwell to Archer.
  25. Speaking about Gen 6, I was massively disappointed by both X and Y, and ORAS. I know Pokemon games are typically easy, but this was a brain dead cake walk. Is it too much to expect the leader of the villainous team to have a competent team? (A Weezing, Crobat, Mightyena, and Mega Camerupt is far from competent) I'd love it if the hard mode from B2/W2 came back. Since Reborn is basically in hard mode already, maybe when everything is finished a Lunatic mode could be added? Also 21%! Things seem to be really coming along!
