    I finally realized why the cults in Insurgence irk me. It's because its own members refer to their respective cults as cults. Nobody in a cult would actually do that. Being referred to as a member of a cult is a huge insult for a member of a cult. In other words, whoever wrote Insurgence's story should have named the cults differently. Take the Abyssal Cult for example. Considering how much random Latin is dropped through the game, they could have easily named the cult something like...

      I posit that Team Abyssal would have sounded better purely because the members would not refer to themselves as a cult. It's like Hukuna said. Cults don't think of themselves as cults.

      Yes, that's actually a really great point. It's something you might want to bring up in their Reddit thread, since I think changing this will enhance the story quite a bit and even bring about new plot developments.

      Keep in mind... I say this having only watched like a random episode in the middle of Shofu's playtrough because I thought the Leader's sprite was intersting looking and it was in the thumbnail... I'm not even kidding... I'm weird XD. But yea... even in like... 2 episodes worth of that it felt a bit odd. ((I actually have 0 clue where one downloads this bad boy... therefore I've not been playin' it clearly.))

    That feeling when the writers use a string of formulaic episodes to lull the viewers into a false sense of security so they could catch us off guard with a crazy twist. Played the viewers like a goddamn fiddle, they did.
