  1. Spoiler

This puzzle is absolute and utter cancer. Not only are there 2 squares to solve but the middle monitor controls BOTH squares at ONCE. I'm not touching this again until I get a step by step walkthrough on a YouTube video or something. Fuck. This. Shit.

That could mean that Lin is effectively under the same protection, hence her general power. The difference is that she KNOWS this, while your character hasn't figured it out yet.

The evidence that the Lin you see walking around doing things is some kind of illusion/projection/machine is overwhelming at this point. That's why Anna couldn't see her riding the Hydreigon. Why she can't be hurt, why she looks way older than the Lin who was at the orphanage, why she has narcolepsy (she falls asleep because nobody is controlling her at that point).

The reason I'm pointing this out is because it means that she can't be just a human like you who happened to figure out that she's immortal for plot reasons. Although it is possible that Arceus is the one helping you.

  3. Spoiler

There was that voice which said something similar about playing after you leave the area under the grand stairway and battle Dittoceus. At least that's what it reminded me of. I'm thinking it's either Lin, Terra, Shade, baby Arceus or some variant of these if it's going to be an in game character. Obviously it would be coupled with some massive reveal. Or maybe it is somehow related to in game Ame but I doubt irl Ame is just venting/joking around in the preview. It's gonna be somehow story related for sure.

  4. You need to have Espeon follow you then click on one of them so that you can move it in a direction that is not going to hit you. So click on it to make it glow then press right for example and it will move right if there is space. You cannot move it backwards into where you're standing.

Also you can talk to Glaceon or Espeon to make them wait at their current location which is necessary to complete the puzzle (put Glaceon somewhere then get Espeon to move things that would otherwise trap Glaceon out). This part is very important.

    Spoiler

And I just casually found a Lopunnite down there in Ame's office behind the bookshelf. Way better than whatever reward they probably give you for completing the sidequest. Thanks.

So in the episode we get access to the basement and beneath there is a scientist asking us to deafeat some pokemon in the wasteland, anyone know where those pokemon are? i've been searching for like 40 min

    Spoiler

Which basement? I found one under the place where Lin captured you and killed Ame and there's a Sudoku puzzle. Is that it or are you talking about somewhere else?

Okay, I got exactly the last dialogue. However, I was certain I defeated Solaris' Garchomp? I know I don't have any more Focus Sashes so I either used it against Garchomp or Elias' Arceus.

If you did that before the relationship points were introduced (Episode 15?), it's possible that the choice (victory) didn't carry over so I'm not sure what would happen at that point.

Oh and you don't have to put spoilers from previous episodes in spoiler tags. The lock only applies to episode 18 spoilers.

  8. I just finished E18 on my old playthrough without prior relationship points which also ended up going into the Zekrom route. Here's my thoughts on the episode so far in the spoiler tag.

    Spoiler

Regarding the E18 content I've experienced so far, absolutely amazing. As soon as I saw the ??? talking about bug related things, I knew shit was about to go down. Of course Bennett shows up being a badass all of a sudden (I knew it was coming). Then some puzzles, Zero going insane, a few easy battles (okay the double battle was hard but only because half my team was already dead since I didn't think I'd have to battle again without healing after the single battle). After that basically an entire recap of my Reborn journey so far done very artistically with some extra details added in. Like Gardevoir standing behind Radomus at various stages. I very much enjoyed that.

Then finally, after a CLEAN 4 and a half years of waiting, Luna makes her big reappearance to rescue you from the void. Definitely the thing I've been looking forward to most of all. Fuck to the yes basically. After you're out there's a flashback scene where it's revealed that you casually beat Luna along with 2 other gym leaders while you were out of it and that you were being controlled by team Meteor during those battles. So yea, sorry that I'm so OP. I had several years to breed and EV train my team so don't beat yourselves up over it. Oh and Luna went into the void to save you and hasn't come out. I seriously doubt she's dead or anything considering the way she was acting but she might be trapped at worst.

Next there was a bit of team Meteor action, a fair 1v1 battle against Solaris (that Mega-chomp's phys def is stupid), Taka steps in (hey there's 1 reason to battle him but I'll look forward to seeing the other route), Lin does some Lin things and flies off.

Lastly the gym battle. It really wasn't that hard even though my sand rush Excadrill got outsped and OHKOed by Lycanroc early on. Ferrothorn, Garchomp and Rotom-W were the MVPs.

And that's where the episode ends. Right now I'm probably gonna wait for someone to compile all the relationship points for E18 so I can play it on my newer playthrough where I got all the points I wanted. Or if it takes too long I can do it semi blind amd keep a backup. Really interested in seeing whether anything relating to Luna changes if I have all her points (Or am on the Reshiram path) and of course I'm expecting the Meteor confrontation to be very different (Titania will probably be there too).

Lastly I'd just like to thank Ame along with all the other developers, testers and everyone else involved in making Pokemon Reborn. You've done an amazing thing here and have created one of the best Pokemon fangames in existence. This journey has been incredible and I'm sure we will all have mixed feelings of joy and sadness when it inevitably comes to an end. Thank you everyone!

  9. Break all the glass windows (they take you to different rooms even if it looks like 2 go into the same room) and you can make wait for you in most places (?) by clicking on it and telling it to wait there. That way you can put it somewhere where it would normally be trapped when you move things with Espeon to clear a path. The hardest part about this puzzle if you ask me was figuring out that the "wait" command exists. . .I thought Glaceon might jump down when I use a ladder like it did at the start of the puzzle but that turned out to be a waste of time.

  10. All I see is circumstantial evidence and not very much of it at that. I don't see any hints being dropped and since Adrienn was actually frozen for years, an ever younger Lin would have had to make this alliance with him (assuming she was even born back then). Unless you think they started working together after he was unfrozen.

I am just not convinced. At all.

  11. Because you got a shiny but it has shit IVs? Really not uncommon unfortunately but the shiny rate in Reborn is pretty high so it's not that big a deal. My advice is to breed for IVs normally and then just keep hatching eggs until you get a shiny one with 31 IVs in the important stats (spe/spatk probably). Again, the shiny rate is high to begin with and you can also acquire a shiny charm to make it even higher. I bred a shiny 5IV Garchomp, Ferrothorn and Milotic in this way.

Or I guess you could just run around the grass until a shiny one pops up then catch it and hope it has better IVs. . . .

  12. Well the E4 should be Anna, Heather, El and Laura (likely replaced by Bennett at this point). As for the champion, I'd guess Lin since she beat Ame who was the previous champion. Another possible candidate is Amaria since I'm pretty sure she was the champion at some point during the IRL league. Or I guess Ame could go all old school and make Fern the champion like Blue was the champion in R/B. There is also a chance that our choices change who the champion is (or E4).

    Spoiler

My prediction as of right now is that you will defeat Lin first in some other capacity (she'll probably use some abomination) and then fight young/true Lin (regular team) for the champion battle.

Regarding the actual E4, I imagine it will be the standard where you have to beat them all with 1 team and no healing or maybe Ame will let us use a PC depending on how generous she's feeling. As for the teams, Anna will almost certainly be using psychic types. Expect Alakazam, Metagross (mega?), Reuniclus, Slowbro and probably something from the newer generations. Of course Jirachi if Ame gives them legendaries or if not then maybe in the rebattle.

Bennett, obviously bug types. We already saw his team but I expect some changes. Probably Scizor, Volcarona, Heracross/Pinsir (mega?). Genesect for his legendary if they have them.  Or maybe some of those new Ultra beasts like Buzzwole.

Heather has the Salamence. I expect it's gonna be mega. Not sure what else.

    El no idea. Maybe Ditto?

  13. I pretty much put together my old sand team from XY OU and slapped an Aegislash on there instead of Mega Lopunny since that's not available yet. All of them have 31 IVs in the relevant stats except Rotom-W with 30 in defense. If they have two moves in a slot that means I have another one with that move. And Garchomp should be holding Firium Z but that's not available yet.

But assuming that Rejuv follows the multiverse theory there would also be a universe where the "Doomed Timeline" is fine. However that doesn't effect that the timeline will be doomed as it was created by a choice. It can be reversed but that will cause an alternative universe where you prevent you from stopping Vivian but that will create a universe where you couldn't achieve that.

I am not following anything after your first sentence. You'll have to state things way more clearly and maybe explain what you mean by "the multiverse theory" as it could mean an infinite amount of universes that are existing or just a couple of universes for each time you time traveled.

  15. 2 hours ago, AsNKrysis said:

I never said you should only focus on saving the alternate timeline.

You said multiple times that the original timeline would be fine even if I stayed in the alt universe forever. And in your first reply to me you said that choosing to go back is a bad choice because it means dooming the alt timeline. These two together (assuming you "should" make the "better" choice) imply that you should focus on the alt timeline and ignore the OG because that one will "be fine" regardless.

    2 hours ago, AsNKrysis said:

You made your choice, but I'm just stating a counterargument that you're not entirely screwing over one timeline or another by making different choices.

And I'm just stating my counter counterargument that you are dooming some timeline no matter what you pick and that you might as well go back to the OG one in that case. Although this is all assuming you are correct in your assessment of how these alternate universes work which I am not necessarily convinced of. I still think the original world is fucked in some form or another if you don't go back.

    2 hours ago, AsNKrysis said:

Now, I don't want this argument to drag on for too long so I will admittedly say I am a coward and will now run away from this argument without any excuse.

Well you initiated this so by all means stop posting any time you like and I definitely have no intention of sitting here talking to myself if there's nothing new to argue against so no worries there.

There isn't just two timelines. Based on how this game goes, I'm going to assume it follows multiverse theory where there are an infinite amount of universes (which can also equate to an infinite amount of timelines) as well as how each universes can be created based on choice. You say choosing to never return to the original timeline will screw over the original timeline, however that would not be the case. In that scenario, another universe(timeline) would be created that which follows the events of the player and Melia never returning from the alternate universe at all (pretty much the give the crystal to Melanie choice). The original timeline requires the player and Melia to be present and follow through the events of the game in order to move forward, so staying in the alternate universe forever would not get anyone screwed over in that timeline, however it would rather just stop that timeline all together until the player and Melia return. However, since there are also multiple universes for the alternate future as well, then the player and Melia staying in the alternate future forever would not screw over (or stop) the original timeline either since another player character and Melia will appear from a universe where they did escape the alternate future and continue the events of the game instead. So even if you stayed in the alternate universe forever, the original timeline would be fine.

And this type of shit is why I tend not to like time travel stories. If there's an infinite amount of universes and these choices are gonna be made by another player/Melia no matter what I pick, it makes the whole thing seem inconsequential. If the original world would be fine because some other player/Melia would return there then I can just as easily say that me choosing to stay would doom that 3rd timeline that the 3rd player/Melia abandoned to go back to the OG timeline. So one alt timeline is getting doomed no matter what meaning I might as well take the better timeline for myself.

Your entire argument is basically that I should only focus on saving the alt timeline because that's the one I happen to be in at the present moment and some other player/Melia from another timeline will deal with the others. There's no guarantee that they will or that I won't create a paradox by not going back. From my understanding, the only reason the player and Melia didn't disappear already is because of the talismans Tiempa gave them. That implies that the world we came from doesn't exist anymore so I am actually dooming the OG timeline by not going back. That is why I am skeptical about your claim that it would be fine no matter what I pick.

  17. 8 hours ago, AsNKrysis said:

Uh, technically it does make you look like a terrible person because it dooms that timeline, and each timeline is its own universe (clearly as shown by the cutscene that occurs after returning to the original timeline if you chose to Do Nothing). Going back to the past in the original timeline and undoing what caused the creation of the doomed timeline (which is what I'll call the timeline where the future is all destroyed and stuff) will not get rid of that timeline nor will it change it in any way, it simply puts Melia and the player character back on the course of the original timeline.

So the old timeline still exists even if you change the past and then never return to it? The original timeline you came from is the one where you went back a 2nd time and let Vivian do her incomplete spell. That means if you never return from the alt timeline, the OG would never come into existence in the first place creating a paradox.

Even if we ignore that, I assume the player and Melia still have important shit to do in the original timeline. Things that would save it from disaster which they wouldn't be able to do if they stayed in the alt timeline forever. And the OG timeline has many more people so again, that's the correct choice if your goal is to save as many people as possible.

And if you want to play the alternate universe game, going back to stop yourself from stopping Vivian could create yet another new alt universe where you save another

however many million people from the catastrophe. Either you create the OG timeline by going back or if the OG timeline is unaffected by your decision, you create a new timeline saving even more people.

  18. Well the obvious thing to do would be catching any electric type and naming it Thor but here's some more interesting ideas. You could catch some dog like Pokemon such as Houndoom, Mightyena or even Arcanine and name it Fenrir. Next a snake like Pokemon so Gyarados, Milotic, Seviper or even Stelix and name it Jormundgandr (if you don't know what these are just Google them and find out. All from Norse Mythology). Next a flying type named Vedrfolnir. Then a beastly water type could be Hafgufa.

Lastly this would have actually been a good name for Torterra but if that's taken, you could still catch a grass type like Tangrowth and name it Yggdrasil. It is meant to be a tree however so it might work better on a Trevenant or even Sudowoodo.

Hope some of this is useful.

  19. Since you somehow have a Salamence, do you want us to suggest Pokemon that you can actually catch in game or just whatever comes to mind? I could definitely see a Lati fitting in there maybe over Gardevoir since you don't have any hazard control. Heatran could go over Magmortar for the rocks and toxic and a nice clean mega Lopunny could go instead of Scrafty. Or alternatively you could do mega mence if you don't care about tiers. Maybe Blaziken over Scrafty in that case.
