  1. This is great for me because I actually keep a running list of all of my favourite Fire Emblem characters. These are characters that either rise above the rest in all three of combat capabilities, appearance, and personality, or smash one or two of those characteristics by so much that I can't exclude them anyway. I refer to this as my fire emblem dream team, and like I said, I'm always adding new members to it as I play new games, though some games don't offer any members at all. The list comprises of 11 characters though, and because I don't really want to exclude one I'm going to take a bit of leeway. Beware, textwalls a plenty await you down there. I guess I had a lot to say about these guys and girls. 11. Nephenee - Soldier (Path of Radiance/Radiant Dawn) 10. Lucius - Monk (Rekka no Ken) 9. Effie - Knight (Fates) 8. Kagero - Ninja (Fates) 7. Rath - Nomad (Rekka no Ken) 6. Ike - Lord (Path of Radiance/Radiant Dawn) 5. Charlotte - Fighter (Fates) 4. Azama - Monk (Fates) 3. Stahl - Cavalier (Awakening) 2. Zihark - Myrmidon (Path of Radiance/Radiant Dawn) 1. Cordelia - Pegasus Knight (Awakening)
  2. Time for some based predictions. Xiri over Bazaro Xiri's too good man, I've had real trouble with him in the past and can confidently say he's better than me. Baz's got skills but Xiri's winning this one. Hycrox over Cyanna After having checked out their performances thus far I'm slightly more confident in Hycrox taking this one than Cyanna. It's anyone's game really though. rupe over 99 Losses rupe's the man when it comes to this game. I've heard 99 Losses is solid too but I only have first hand experience with rupe. Deekus over Lugruf Having seen my man Deekus play I'm glad I got here first and snapped up that good Sheep name. I wouldn't want to fight him for it, 'cause while I'm not confident I'd lose, I'm also not confident I'd win either. Lugruf, you've got a perfect record but it ain't staying that way. Krim over Swamp Krim's solid, I didn't know much about either of these before I did some digging but having done so I'm confidently tipping Krim. Renzo over Personthing He said it himself, he's the only one who can equal the god Infernape88. Renzo and defeat don't go hand in hand easily. Wash over Pyrrhon Wash is gonna clean the floor with Pyrrhon, that's why they call him the Washman. Nah but for real Pyrrhon can put up a good fight but I'm marginally picking Wash. If I'm right on all seven counts it'll be a 4-3 victory to Amazon. I get the feeling this is gonna be close.
  3. Happy birthday man, we've gotta chill some more so you can beat me in PU again.
  4. Add about a bajillion percent more getting stuck on rocks in route 2 and you're starting get the picture. Once we all got trapped in Calcenon City because the exit back down into Ametrine Mountain didn't work.
  5. There's also a fern. That's no feather. Well... I don't think it's a feather.
  6. Huh. Seemed like longer than that. I must have been mistaken.
  7. Props. Letting them know about that was a good idea. Didn't the E15 one take like a month? That was a mess though (no offense Ame) so usually that'd be on point. You better believe it, you don't want to see the state of some of those betas (againnooffenseAmeeveryonemakesmistakesmistakesarenaturalIlyplsdon'tkillme). The post beta product is definitely more polished.
  8. Mmm I agree with a lot of what you're saying here. The first time I played through RD I tried to train half the damn brigade, people like Edward, Leonardo, and Illyana, and I ended up severely underleveled. That was one of the hardest missions of the entire playthrough without a doubt, I remember it being a wake up call like "this isn't going to be as easy as Path of Radiance" and I really struggled with it. I guess I like it now because I know not to do that, and to instead only train the ones that are worth training. That just leaves the atmosphere of the level itself, which on its own is absolutely fantastic.
  9. That's the river one right? That's perhaps my favourite level in the entire game. Between the darkness, the endless Laguz assault, and the water slowing your movement speed you're on a knife's edge the whole time. However, if you've trained the right people (Micaiah, Sothe, Nolan, Aran, Jill, and Zihark) then you shouldn't tip over that edge. It's also the moment when if you try to train a decent number of the Dawn Brigade, you're really going to start feeling the pain. The easiest time I had with it was training the aforementioned six minus Aran, but I felt like I had enough experience going to waste towards the end of part 1 that I could have trained another unit, and after taking a look at the Dawn Brigade roster I think Aran's the best one of the remaining characters. Plus it gives you a nice on foot weapon triangle core with Nolan, Aran, and Zihark.
  10. Does anyone else get tripped out by the title of Lexi's latest RP or is it just me?

I mean, you can have a pride of lions, why not have one of sheep?

      Shamitako

I mean, it's supposed to do that. But it's probably for a different reason than intended in your case XD

  11. Though it would be amusing to see your attempt at making one of the protagonists fly on a Pidgey.
  12. There needs to be a John Cena reference somewhere in reborn. Somewhere.
  13. I did that in my Hoshido run but I used +Mag rather than +Def. I also married Orochi to create the ultimate +Mag -Spd Kana. It was something like a +8 magic mod. I found he was alright, but lacked the HP stat required to properly tank. This time around I'm using +HP -Lck and it's working really well. Because I'm not killing Spd/Str/Mag he's free to use both the Yato and the Dragonstone as he sees fit, and with +HP he's a great tank with the Yato boosting his Dragonstone boosted defenses. In general I've found that even -Spd Corrin is too fast to really worry about getting doubled by much that isn't Ninjas, Samurai, or Berserkers (thanks for the useless speed buff Yato) so I don't think the wary fighter is necessary in practice, though I had the same theoretical idea as you.
  14. Oh wow! I've never actually seen these before, they're great! My team would look like this:
  15. What a lineup of power! At least five of these members can flex. Atlantis, you've got your work cut out for you this week. Oh and I just realized that one of the nations that made it to the finals has bug while the other has fighting. I guess the reason these two in particular made it this far is pretty obvious.
  16. Nah I wouldn't say the point of a unit is to utilize their personal skill. Most personal skills are rubbish, just ask Azama or Selena, and there's really not much to work with. But when you do have a personal skill that has the potential to add a lot to the build, then I'd work with it rather than against it. Stuff like dragonstone+ renewal Kana is hilarious. Until it removes all difficulty from the game that is. It's also why I don't like Midori's personal skill. It has the potential to be absolutely fantastic, but it's hard to get luck based skills that are actually useful on her. I'd love to build around that but it seems like there's Miracle and that's about it. I guess that's one more reason why Sakura!Midori is amazing. Edit: I should probably clarify that I get the appeal of keeping Caeldori with naginatas for the support convo aspects, though I guess a reclassed Caeldori doesn't magically lose her skill with naginatas. She does keep the C rank after all, she just doesn't use it in battle.
  17. I cooked this toast so long that it's not even toast anymore. More like slices of savory biscuit.

  18. Sure but that doesn't mean you shouldn't make use of it right? It's on there permanently so surely the best way to work with Caeldori as a unit is to embrace it rather than ignore it. If you can ensure that your Str sits just below the enemy's then combine it with a faire skill then you're getting a whopping +9 damage. That's like having Life and Death without taking the extra 10 damage. The sorts of enemies that have less Str/Mag than Rinkah!Caeldori in Blacksmith are also the sorts of enemies that you don't need the extra 4 damage against. Stuff like Master Ninjas, Swordmasters, Falcon Knights/Kinshi Knights, Adventurers, and Bow Knights. Classes like that generally have very low Def so it's like either they have high Str so Caeldori's gonna kill them or they have low Def so Caeldori's gonna kill them. I dunno, you're free to have your opinion but I think it makes more sense to play to her strengths (Prodigy and Subaki's fantastic Def mod) rather than trying to make her a high Str/Spd unit because she starts out in Pegasus Warrior.
  19. Hey it's one of those days when we get double the fun! Happy birthday Dobby and Simon! You're both great.
  20. I dunno, I'm rooting for Amazon. I low key picked their type combination as the strongest one in week 1 and I want to see them prove me right.
  21. Alright then, before thanking anyone I just want to give a PSA. This is supposed to be a positive "thank you" thread with regards to nations, please leave any negativity at the door with regards to other members. Shout out to the council for designing an enjoyable tournament, the championship round sounds baller and it makes me wish I was a part of it. Shout out to DD for being the leader of our nation, I wasn't around much for the community building aspect of it this time but I'm sure you were great. Shout out to the rest of the Gaians for keeping strong team cohesion throughout the competition. I'd have liked to work with you all a bit more on teambuilding and practicing but I didn't have a lot of time on my hands and I'll own that. Shout out to Vex for giving me some insightful discussion, innovative builds for 'mons, and an experienced and critical eye on where I might improve certain things, even if they were only occasional encounters. Shout out to the top boys in Amazon for the week ten bants. :Kappa:
  22. I agree except that guts can help with Gourgeist by correctly switching in to a will-o. That's the main use I see for it, but it's probably going to be a pretty common scenario seeing as Gourgeist is everywhere.
  23. Eh, Subaki's stat mods make Caeldori predisposed to being a wall and because you can't give her a different father there's nothing you can do about that. He also sets her up with that nice -1 Str mod which Hinoka and Oboro both undo, and ultimately make into +1 instead, which doesn't help any with Prodigy. In fact Hinoka's stat mods are all directly opposite Subaki's, where he has minuses she has pluses and vice versa, that seems very counter intuitive. Oboro's a bit better because she builds on Subaki's Def mod, but I still don't like the way that she undoes the -1 Str mod. An argument can certainly be made for Selena, because she does a very similar thing to Rinkah by building on Subaki's natural Def mod while preserving the -1 Str but of the four of them, Rinkah's still the only one that passes Caeldori a tanking class. Weapon ranks are whatever in my mind because any route that you can get Caeldori in also gives you access to easy weapon rank grinding with challenges, and once you get to D rank you can start throwing around iron forges, which are really all you need. One look at Subaki's -2 Spd and +3 Def screams put me in something tanky to me, and thus I've never considered Pegasus Warrior to be a particularly good class line for Caeldori.
