    >Sawsbuck ends up being wayy better than you expected.

20 levels of only being used for Leech Seed well worth I suppose.

I've always liked it's design, just usually had grass types I preferred over it a lot available; Sceptile/Abomasnow/Breloom/Serperior/Roserade/Lilligant...

Having decent bulk, speed and good stab moves along with Leech Seed makes it more than usable.

Sawsbuck is a king in LP Meta. in the regular Meta... a little les so, sadly.

Also, I always thought Skiddo and Gogoat were also part normal. IDK where I get that from tho

Same dude. Same. Always make that mistake.

  4. If you call one of the most popular Pokemon -period- not deserving of a mega, that's pretty dumb to me. Difference in opinions I consider Tyranitar's Mega to be unnecessary because it's the exact same thing, with an added 100 base stats and no real new spin to what it does. The extra 100 base stats feel wasted because there's nothing new to be seen, nor a truly improved Pokemon, just a wasted slot that could've been given to something that would actually improve from it a lot like Crobat or Donphan. Heck it's design isn't even better either. Now Mega Gengar; Gengar's always been about using it's speed and utility in combination with it's stunning coverage and power. Mega Gengar accentuates this in spades with improved speed and slightly better bulk, but now with Shadow Tag; essentially guaranteeing it gets to do it's job. Want to annoy something with Taunt or Disable? Can't run from him. Want to guarantee a revenge kill? He's the man. Want to watch something just suffer for three turns before dying? Booyah. It plays to all aspects of Gengar, improves them while adding a twist and is absolutely thematically fitting, what with Gengar stalking other's shadows and it's Mega literally looking like it's half in and half out of the shadows. There's a stark difference between these two; Mega Tyranitar isn't especially notable and genuinely feels unnecessary whereas Mega Gengar is overpowered but absolutely deserved. Besides if you had to remove Gengar's Mega, I'd say you'd have to remove Alakazam's too, seeing as they're essentially counterparts. There's probably a lot of bias here, Ghost's my favourite type and Gengar's like arguably my favourite Ghost type. Less so the loss of Levitate, more so the sheer power creep and it finally being unable to keep up.

This thing owned OU for three whole generations with among the worst defensive typings in the game. That deserves props ngl. Not taking that on Gengar's end though, that boy deserved it.

  9. My boi Mega Pidgeot's racked up quite a lead, I can hold back on him for a tad. 11. If you're going to want to keep Gallade, probably wanna drop Gardevoir for reasons previously stated. I'm actually going to recommend Kingdra here, specifically, Rain Dance Kingdra. A mixed Kingdra with something like Rain Dance/Dragon Pulse/Surf or Hydro Pump(preferably the latter)/Waterfall is pretty damn potent from personal experience. Either this or the aforementioned Primarina are best for your team in my opinion. Furthermore I'd also suggest Galvantula > Manectric. While it -does- have less power, Galvantula comes with the coveted Sticky Webs, which helps boost Gallade's sweeping potential immensely and helps Staraptor be even faster. Discharge para hax isn't half bad either. Finally in the last slot, I'd go for EITHER a Grass or Dark type. Grass in particular finishes up the standard Fire/Water/Grass core most teams have as their center. Typical good grass types include Roserade, Venusaur, Lilligant. If you opt to go with Sticky Web though, I'd suggest Lilligant in particular. It benefits a lot from the speed drops by allowing it to get a quick Sleep Powder in and then boost with Quiver Dance for easy Nature Power+Giga Drain sweeps. Venusaur adds bulk and Roserade out of the gate raw power However in terms of Dark types which complete the Psychic/Dark/Fighting core, you've got some vast options too. With a bit of exploitation, Hydreigon, a -fantastic- Pokemon once you get into it's final stage with good stats across the board, among the best movepools in the game, and Work Up to boost both attacking stats. Krookodile, a monstrous moxie sweeper who just needs one boost to go mad. Especially in combination with Sticky Web to slow down checks. Scrafty with Dragon Dance and Brave Bird Honchkrow for much the same reasons. A personal favourite of mine(though it's extremely frail)is Absol. 130 attack, Swords Dance, Sucker Punch and Knock off. If it gets a Swords Dance up with Sticky Web up, it's as good as game. So you've got plenty of diverse options to go with, personally? Galvantula/Infernape/Kingdra/Gallade/Staraptor or Honchkrow/Lilligant or Krookodile. They're primarily suggested because they are/were practically the easiest Pokemon to obtain for their type in comparison to their actual worth. Metagross who -in my opinion- vastly outclasses both is stuck behind the most tedious and abritrary sidequest in the game. Reuniclus and Alakazam, Gardevoir's former two competitors(before it was now butchered to Neo-Reborn..)are stuck in a really obscure location or need a bit of item grinding to obtain. Meanwhile you get Magneton by literally playing the story straight through and Garde was in a really easy to reach place. Additionally keep in mind not everyone will care about an 'original' team and just like to use what's objectively best for their team or what they like. Different strokes for different people, I suppose. Also while Volcarona is only a 1/18 chance, it's a 1/18 chance for a Pokemon that can sweep entire boss fights with absolute ease. God bless that moth.

Probably gunna have to go after Glalie tho

  16. After about a week of spending time on it, finished my dragon mono finally.

    unknown.png

Bar Drampa, that's every Dragon type remotely obtainable in the game all grinded up to about level 80 with items and sets, though after seeing my Drampa's horrid IVS I gave up on it. Couldn't be arsed to spend another 3 hours or whatever searching for one like I did. Here's some thoughts, though in a bit of a rambling form.

MVP of the run was absolutely Flygon. God tier typing, god tier hax. Flinch basically every rock slide into a win.

LVP probably Noivern lol. Only kept it around for Tailwind.

This run made me gain a lot of respect for Altaria in particular, it's bulk is pretty dang nice, as well as Sing for some yung status.

Kingdra was another Pokemon that exceeded my expectations, from the moment it got on the team, it put in the finest of work. Gotta love Swift Swim.

Don't make Deino your starter, -ever.- 59 levels of utter torture. Hydreigon was fantastic though, absolutely amazing.

    In terms of difficulty the bosses go like;

    Titania > Shelly > Shade > Blake > Serra.

Shelly and Shade are practically impossible for a Dragon mono to beat without more than 1 added Pokemon. Titania's Scizor is the literal devil. Blake/Serra are just pains in the asses, but compared to the top 3, are tolerable. Flygon especially sends Serra to hell.

    1. Wolfox

      Wolfox

Might I ask why you're surprised Kingdra was as good as it was? It has a whole 2 weaknesses, one of them it's also strong against.

    2. Azeria

      Azeria

At the time I obtained Kingdra, the team was being carried by Flygon/Hydreigon and Haxorus. Noivern's damage output was very low and it was extremely frail, Dragalge had the bulk and power, but was often just too slow.

Comparatively, Kingdra had the speed, the bulk and the power, as well as the ability and space to go mixed making it damn hard to wall. I know Kingdra is good, but I didn't expect for it to excel nearly as much as it ended up doing. It + Hydreigon were like the only reasons Blake was even possible to beat, thanks Mamoswine >_>. So yeah, more so surprised/impressed by just -how- good it was rather than surprised at it being good. I mean, it's fucking Kingdra.

Adrienn was surprisingly easy because of the amount of preparation I did. Even when I was severely underleveled, it took about 3 attempts for me to get a winning run cuz crucial Iron Tail misses were kept to a minimum.

  17. Nearly 100% sure her Salamence is her mum's, so I wouldn't be surprised if the rest of her team is too.
  18. What do you mean raised, basically all of her Pokemon are her mother's l o l. Cain: 25 Adrienn: 12 Aya: 21 Ciel: 12 Florinia: 23 Hardy: 27 Julia: 24 Kiki: 21 Luna: 16 Noel: 11 Samson: 26 Shade: 25 Shelly: 26 Anna: 23 DJ Arclight: 17 Cal: 28 Laura: 27 ZEL: 23 RIP basically all my fave chars. Hardy's the last that remains of my top 5.
  19. Gallade, Sceptile, Diancie and Pidgeot are in a four way tie for my favourite mega, just that I'm in a big Mega Pidgeot mood at the moment.
  20. Mega Beedrill: 31 Mega Pidgeot: 35 Mega Slowbro: 18 Mega Steelix: 16 Mega Sceptile: 26 Mega Swampert: 14 Mega Sableye: 16 Mega Sharpedo: 19 Mega Camerupt: 22 Mega Altaria: 20 Mega Glalie: 21 Mega Latios: 4 Mega Latias: 18 Mega Lopunny: 13 Mega Gallade: 32 Mega Diancie: 15 Mega Pidgeot is perfection.
  21. I'm not the most eloquent with regards to talking about characters in depth, -especially those like Amaria/Titania- so I'll leave out that stuff, wouldn't really do it justice after the damn good piece by Alistair above. Radomus is out here playing 3D chess, trying to play both sides into the best possible outcome, while the whole game is a 4D chess game by Lin and Anna. Go figure, the chessmaster himself's but another regular piece, though I'll expect him to show up in 18, probably.
  22. My liking of Elias/Solaris comes a good part from Elias' Diary(Go read it, pretty interesting as to the reasons behind their actions), though I'd already liked Solaris quite a bit before then. Using a Garchomp? Being depicted as THE badass originalLeader of Team Meteor? Able to pretty much curbstomp everyone atop Pyrous Mountain on his own? Das some good shit. He gets wurfed into oblivion basically every moment after sadly, but that initial impression on top of Elias' Diary and him being best Character's dad and an actually respectable villain among Reborn's pack(Lin is ew) put him up high up there for me. Only things I really dislike about him is that his team's pretty generic by Reborn standards(something I'm hoping will change) and that he looks wayyy too much like Sirius. Elias is mostly because fuck Radomus tbh. He's a well depicted character on his own rights, granted a lot of the characterisation that paints him in a good light comes from other characters such as Taka or his Diary. I totally get why this guy is extremely disliked, kind of the point I guess, just really like him for some reason - aside - from my innate hatred of Radomus. Hard to describe why. Might be the badass old man part.
  23. Cain: 26 Adrienn: 12 Amaria: 0 Aya: 23 Charlotte: 5 Ciel: 12 Florinia: 26 Hardy: 27 Julia: 25 Kiki: 21 Luna: 20 Noel: 17 Samson: 25 Saphira: 8 Shade: 27 Shelly: 23 Anna: 22 DJ Arclight: 17 Cal: 27 Laura: 25 ZEL: 19
  24. That + he's the first real WTF moment of the game, subverting expectations even further on top of his Crobat being a dick to fight. Corey is dope. Mfw your least favourite list is -outside- of Bennett composed of some of my favourite characters in the cast. Opinions are wild. Reminds me of how despite being my favourite types, Ghost/Dragon/Dark's representatives in Reborn kinda suck. Saphira is mini Titania, Lin is fucking Lin of course she is, Shade is too enigmatic and Luna is too irrelevant. Lame.
