Like the above, The 'battle me'-request in Kakori keeps saying it can be done, but when I accept it, the exposition from the aid next to it only says something like: 'let's see...'. The girl who made the request also says that the battle has happened, but I can't turn it in at the Cashier (or whatever). This happened by upgrading to V6, and I completed it already in V5.

You can also get the Shadow Toxicroak, penty of IVs + Dry Skin might get you somewhere? By the way, Idk when you get Nature Power, but it changes in the heavily buffed Whirlpool on that field, so perhaps try it out? Perhaps training up a Jellicent (or Slowbro?) might be worth it, too. It's really buff on the specially defensive side and can inflict status+Hex, but I'm not sure if it's buff enough for that matter. And we shouldn't forget that you can catch Water Absorb Woopers around Route 3/Goldenleaf...making it a great switch-in, since it also loves electricity and learns Amnesia. -
...uh...I didn't have real problems with either. Charlotte went down to EQ Jolly Flygon (and a little help of my Crobat), while a Prankster Murkrow with a very conveniently found Rain Dance and Damp Rock made her field pretty much ineffective. And since she only has one Ninetales, and lead with it, she was quite easy. I didn't even run a Ground- or Rock-type. So...I guess I'm not sure. You can bypass them both, but I think you would need more preparation for Charlotte than Amber.

Well, one NPC that would sell you stuff would crash the game, but idk if that would be satisfactory reason for that. At least I got some items for my money before he closed it down...

Since you get (or could get, idk) Froakie with pretty good physical moves, I wonder if it's better to go fully physical with Greninja, try to run a special set, or go mixed. On one hand, we won't have Ice Beam or Dark Pulse for a long while, I guess (and they can't learn Frost Breath), but it's special attack is a bit higher, and his special moves have (slightly) more power overall. You could run Surf/Grass Knot/Extrasensory/something, for example. On the other hand, you get Bounce and X-Scissor, which are quite powerful coverage moves, but slightly less physical attack combined with moves that have a bit less BP (looking at Night Slash, e.g.) might make it less favourable. Plus, we don't have Waterfall yet... A set like Bounce/X-Scissor/Night Slash/something(perhaps Shadow Sneak). Mixed would give some of both worlds (which I kinda naturally went to by playing the game), but at the price of giving in power on both sides. A set like Bounce/X-Scissor/Surf/Extrasensory is an example of that. Any advice/opinions?

V6 has a backup feature. Just check all the backups to see which one reaches back far enough to beat the Whale (by changing the name to Game.rxdata it becomes the save file you play...)

If there's a 6.1, I'm not sure this bug is still there, but one of the Mankey trees in Akora forest gets the game stuck. It makes the Mankey sound, but the mon never pops out the tree to help you... (P.S. nice mystery dungeon-reference,though.)

Numel. Also, Magma Drift is a TM. But if you just wanted to go for HM slaves, the obvious Bibarel comes to mind. For more obvious reasons, that mon can't surf on magma, though. (Rusty wouldn't've gotten that...)
