  1. I agree with 2tousent, trying to beat Serra without a Drought Ninetales was pure PAIN!
  2. When I got my Vulpix in Ep.9 I had no idea it could have Drought as ability (yes, I'm as noob as that) and got one with Flash Fire. Well, don't need to say that by the 10th battle I lost against Serra I was feeling the dumbest person in the world. That's why, after beating Radomus in episode 10 the first thing I did was breeding and training a Drought Ninetales all the way to lv.54. Ok. Then came 10.5, and that second Ninetales had it's ability changed to Flash Fire... Noooooooo! A few minutes of rage later, however, I went to check the rest of the crew on the PC and found out that the first one got Drought! I've passed the rest of the night laughing of relief.
  3. Hello everybody! I've been building this for the league but unfortunately I'll have a lot of work to do this week and probably very few time to test it... Also it's my first time challenging the league so other opinions will help a lot. Now, to the team. Quick glance on the crew: The idea I got to build it was having a team which could be fast or bulky depending on the leader I'm going to challenge. For that I chose 3 quick pokémon and 3 slow ones, being 3 of them special attackers and 3 physical. I also tried to get as much coverage as possible and making it mostly offensive. Although the Items and EV's I've put here are their standard,I think I'll be changing that a lot during the league for specific gyms (suggestions here apreciated too ). In-Depht Guardian Empoleon @ Leftovers Trait: Torrent EV's:252 HP / 252 Sp.attack /4 Def Moveset: -Grass Knot -Scald -Flash Cannon -Ice Beam I picked Empoleon because of it's amazing number of resistances, making it usable in many Gyms . Grass Knot for Water/Ground types, Scald for burning and STAB, Flash Cannnon for a STAB coverage on fayries, and Ice Beam for some more coverage, specially on dragons. Sp Attack EV's for hitting as hard as possible, while HP ones can be switched around for defenses if I expect either more physical or special threats. Angel Togekiss @ Leftovers Trait: Serene Grace EV's: 252HP / 252 Sp. attack / 4 Sp. def Moveset: -Heat Wave -Dazzling Gleam -Air Slash -Thunder Wave Togekiss works on paraflinching with T.wave and air slash, while also slowing down the opponent for it's teamates. Heat Wave for doubles and triples with added burn chance thanks to Serene Grace, while also covering steel types. Dazzling Gleam for STAB and added coverage, while Air Slash helps with flinching. Jaws Garchomp @ Choice Scarf / Band Trait: Rough Skin EV's: 252 Attack / 252 Speed / 4 Hp Moveset: -Earthquake -Dragon Claw -Rock Slide -Fire Blast The hard hitting guy. It has an amazing offensive coverage and powerfull stabs, along with two multi target moves. With the gyms being monotypes I don't think it'll have to swith moves all the time (correct me if I'm wrong!), choice items come very handy and it doesn't spend a slot for setting up. It's typing covers well the electric weaknesses of the team, along with Jolteon, and in exchange it can use EQ in Doubles and triples if paired with Talonflame and Togekiss. Spark Jolteon @ Life Orb Trait: Volt Absorb EV's: 252 Sp. Att / 252 Speed / 4 HP Moveset: -Volt Switch -Thunderbolt -Shadow Ball -Hidden Power Ice My quick special attacker. Jolt helps reducing the team's weakness to electric types, and can hit water types hard. Thunderbolt for staying in, Volt Switch to gain free turns for the others Shadow Ball for some coverage against ghosts, wich the team otherwise lack, and for some neutral coverage too.HP Ice also helps with Ground and Rock types. Summer Wind Talonflame @ Life Orb Trait: Gale Wings EV's: 252 Attack / 252 Speed / 4HP Moveset: -Brave Bird -Flare Blitz -Steel Wing -Roost To compensate a lack of priority, who better than this guy? Steel wing for being usable against rock the other moves are there to hit as hard as possible. Rambo Conkeldurr @ Life Orb / Assault Vest / Flame Orb Trait: Guts / Sheer Force / Iron fist EV's: 252 Attack / 252 HP / 4 Defense Moveset: -Ice Punch -Drain Punch -Thunder Punch -Mach Punch Punching coverage with 3 great abilities! Ice Punch handles Gliscor, Thunder can get Azumarill if it's locked on Aqua Jet, while having great flexibility with ability and items. Most important is that this big guy can handle rock types, which might be a trouble otherwise. Well, that's it. What do you guys think? Leaders beaten: Aya, Laura, Titania, Anna, Arclight, Bennett, Adrienn, Luna, Samson, Saphira. Losses: Laura (1), Arclight (1), Adrienn (1). Importable here:
  4. Hey, monogen is actually very nice! I don't know if I'll be able to participate, but gonna make a gen 3 team just in case.
  5. I think Noir wanted to get in too. I'll try pm them. Aqcuiescence, hope you have a good time in your new school and congrats on thanks for making such a good story for us to play. Oh, and good luck in the mod stuff Hukuna! PS: a more technical question, where you guys think landed? Outside the building or in some empty room there?
  6. Jon quickly sent out Kyte, startled by the sudden teleport, and took battle position by the Swampert's side. He then looked to the other people in the place. There were just the trainers that were in the room when Silver teleported them, and although that was a sign of relative security, he wasn't taking chances with people he didn't know. Specially when one of them drew knifes out of nowhere. He kept his position. Then the one with the knifes relaxed. "We'll probably need a plan to do this. We should start with stating our strengths." At that Kyte nudged him lightly. "What, now you want me to be the first to talk?!" - Jon whispered back. This was going way to fast for his taste. He then took a deep breath and calmed down a little. This whole teaming up thing wasn't making him very confortable, but in the end it was the only way to really oppose the Church. He didn't have to tell them everything though, and surely woudn't. Kyte gazed at him impaciently. "Ok, ok you know what is best"- Jon answered him before relaxing his position and turning to talk to the others. "Ahmn ok."- he started -"Well, my name is Jon and my partner is Kyte. I can hide and sneak well and I can... help, if a fight comes up. Kyte here can wreck a lot of stuff too, but I'm afraid he's not that good in walking unnoticed." With everyone looking at him Jon felt too much exposed, so he cut the presentation there and stepped back for the next one to come, hoping that was enough. (OC: first ever RP post, so if I'm doing something wrong please tell me!)
  7. One week to build a team and go from noob to not so noob. Well, let's give it a try. Also, how long does a League season last?
  8. THAT is what I call a catchy title... Welcome and feel free to make us some cupcakes (real ones) whenever you like.
  9. Pretty much the same as Hukuna, but I'm willing to give it a try.
  10. Congratulations! Even though I , being new, don't know you two, this is something really rare to see (even more in the net), so I wish all happiness you can possibly bear!
  11. You've got a point, but for what I've seen so far I don't think Ame will make things easy for us... Also we still have to see what the new field effects will do, she might even use it in her advantage. Anyway, better don't lower the guard.
  12. Weeeell, I was already worried about her, now that I know her background here... Oh damn.
  13. Look for a house on the forest near Spinnel. You'll need to get a Pidgeot for trade, but you can only find Pidgeotto on route 1, after the 8th gym.
  14. Where are you in the game? Got to Spinnel town already?
  15. -Name: Jon Gale -Appearance/Characteristics: Jon is 1,75 m tall (which is...>google> 5 feet, 30 inches), thin but fit. His hair is dark and always messy, his eyes are somewhat between blue and green and he does not care much for aesthetics, using always a T-shirt, a old and battered jeans and a sailor rain coat that was his fathers. He's a very reclusive person, who doesn't trust anyone easily neither give up much about himself. Being so wary about other people sometimes leaves him insecure of what to do, and sometimes get him into trouble, but he's able to handle himself quite well in dangerous situations. His abilities include orientation skills (his father was a sailor) and a good skill with spear, which he learnt by fishing with it. His most redeeming quality is that, once he get's to trust someone, he trusts blindly and does wathever it takes to protect them. -Birthday: April, 10. Age 18. -Background: Jon was only a little child when the Church came into his hometown, Sootopolis. He lived with his father, since his mother passed away some years before, leaving with them her Swampert, Kyte. His father, a diver and sailor, was against the Churchs rule, but accepted it to protect his son from harm. However he worked against it secretly. Jon knew his father was getting more pokémon and accidentaly told it to an agent of the church. The Church arrested his father, and Kyte fled with him. Since then he's been living with Kyte, hiding from the world and clutching to a desperate hope that he can still rescue his father. -Roleplay Universe: Pokémon Aftermath
  16. No trouble at all, drop us in when find most fit. I'll post my character anyway, so everything is ready, thanks. Name: Jon Gale Partner: Kyte - Swampert.
  17. Well, based on Tempest's comment I think she's in the '' oh damn, I'm screwed '' level of strenght. Which is quite common in Reborn anyway.
  18. Well, there's our friend Cryogonal. Just checked, it actually outspeeds Garchomp. Ah, and on topic: Hoenn Gym Battle remix by Glitch City, which I know is in game but can't remember the name. That one is epic too.
  19. Gonna Drop'Em All. Think nostalgia. Also, I don't think Solaris will be fighting with only Chomp's next time...
  20. Welcome to the sanatory site. Enjoy your stay!
  21. One thing I've liked a lot on PO is that you can try a lot of stuff that is difficult in game, and see if it works. It's extremely easy to change anything about a pokemon.
  22. Sturdy Steelix, rock smash to lower defense, then max revive, do it again, PP stall his focus blasts with the rest of the team and finally OHKO with Lucario's Close Combat, after living a Judgement.
  23. If this works, I'm pretty sure it's gonna be epic! Really, the terrain is all important in any kind of real fight, so it just makes sense it should be in Pokémon too. Bring it on Ame!
  24. Ahmn, not sure if I should be posting this here, but anyway... I've been reading this Aftermath for a while and would like to join, if there's no problem. Also I don't know if it's a good time to do it, but there's no trouble if you think I should wait for the next arc. Congrats for everyone, the story is getting awesome!
