"Well if you don't like the cold, Yukihana isn't nearly as great a place to be as it looks," Ecquis chuckles before continuing. "I also would hope you have experience with hunting game and the like, since that's where most of your meals come from. You won't run into stray people around there too often, though it's technically not impossible," Ecquis pauses, recalling his first meeting with Alvis. "Though, once you manage to find a good source of food, surviving isn't too terrible, so long as you have a place to stay in the event of blizzards. But if I recall, I ended up leaving Yukihana mostly to see what Caelum would be like. Alvis didn't know much about it, and I was from Dragao anyhow, so I figured I'd go see what it was like."

"It is indeed usually snowing, and its always cold. One of my wyverns could actually blend in with the snow to an extent, which turned out to be useful on a few occasions. Though in general, they weren't too pleased with the cold, but we managed," Ecquis notes, recalling his time in the snowy country. "Some places there are actually rather nice, though I don't recommend going on a trip through there unless you're either very prepared or very resourceful."

"Well, I have traveled around quite a bit due to...various circumstances. As for funny stories..." Ecquis pauses, thinking for a bit about what she may be interested in. "I don't know how many are funny persay, but I have a few stories. I suppose I'll let you pick which place the story comes from. Would you prefer a story from my time in Yukihana, or would you prefer one from my time here in Caelum?"

"Having someone around to take care of you is a nice thing to have. I've been all throughout the continent myself. Dragao, Caelum, and even Yukihana. Most of that time was mostly me alone, but I had a few people around to help me out when I needed it. They probably had no real reason to continue assisting me after our initial meeting, but they decided to do so anyways, and I'm truly thankful for it. I don't doubt your ability to take care of yourself, but I also hope you don't mind getting a little help from us at times. I'm sure it may be as useful to you as it was to me," he tells her, thinking on his own journeys. "I will say though, some of the merchants here can be quite aggressive when it comes to defending their goods, so do be careful."

Myrdwyn's strike hits the guard dead on, bringing him to his knees. Refusing to take further insult however, he manages to strike the wyvern rider, doing a noticeable amount of damage. Cheat Sheet:

"I suppose, but make sure you know what you're getting into at all times. It wouldn't do for you to suddenly get caught by an organized group. Or angry merchants. I'd say the latter is more dangerous around these parts if I had to choose," Ecquis says, thinking back on a few incidents he saw back when he still lived in Caelum.

"I see. Did you find out anything interesting," Ecquis asked, deciding to find out about those individuals this way. He figured confronting her in a more hostile manner would be more likely to cause problems down the line.

"That's how this business works," Ecquis whispers before thanking the shopkeeper and leaving with the gauntlet safely secured. Seeing that Clara was elsewhere at the moment, Ecquis thought a bit about how he wanted to spend his time. "So Cherry, now that's done, is there anything you planned on doing?"

"I didn't say I was turning it down. All I said was that I would think about the offer," Ecquis remarks before moving closer and whispering something to Cherry's ear so the shopkeeper wouldn't hear. "Also keep in mind what this thing is. An item like this could prove useful to us down the line. Alternatively, suppose that this was presented to one of the museums here directly, or perhaps even to the senators as a gift at tomorrow's meeting. Imagine their reaction to having a national relic presented to them, and imagine what they might be willing to do for it? Understand?'

"Hmm, that's quite the knowledge. I'll keep it in mind, but I'll hold onto it for a little longer before I make a final decision," Ecquis remarks. Perhaps the item could be put to use in other ways that could prove more beneficial. For now though, he was content to consider all options before making a final decision.

"I came across it in the desert before we got here," Ecquis said, neglecting to mention the details of why they were in the desert or the ghost that appeared to him, which was apparently this Hania person. "Could you tell me more about Hania by any chance?"

"I suppose," Ecquis remarks, showing the gauntlet to the man. "You wouldn't happen to know where she's gone to prepare would you? If not, then when she comes back let her know that Ecquis came by to see her."

"Good to see that this place still has its unique theme I suppose," Ecquis muses before replying to the man. "Ah, I came here hoping that she could look over something for me. We're old friends and I figured she could give it a good look to see it's worth."

"Oh? I wasn't aware you were able to appraise things as well. That makes some things convenient," Ecquis says, taking the gauntlet back, looking it over. "It's possible that it could be useful to the group in some way, but I am curious as to how much it's worth. Follow me, if we're lucky, an old friend of mine should be around," Ecquis remarks with a grin as he takes Cherry through the marketplace. Eventually, they come across a shop named "Anna Clara-ly The Best Choice". "She actually kept the name the same. I guess it's convenient for me but still. No matter," Ecquis shrugs as he takes Cherry into the shop. "Anna! Are you around?"

"Well, I figured you might want to find out about this," he says, holding out the gauntlet that he found in the desert for Cherry to see. "If you remember, you gave me a fortune before the last battle, and this is what I got out of it. So I decided to see whether anyone knew anything about it, and I thought you might also be interested."

"Thank you," Ecquis says as he heads over towards the marketplace. At the very least, this would be the area he would have taken her anyhow, since a certain friend's shop was situated there. Once he finds Cherry, they can go about trying to learn more about the gauntlet he acquired. But for now, he would search the marketplace to see where she had gone.

"Well, looks like we're going on a bit of a trip," Ecquis muses as he leaves the palace and heads towards some of the guards. "Excuse me, did you see a red haired woman leave the palace a moment ago?"

"In that case, I'm going to see about finding some appraisers. I found a curious little thing in the desert. Speaking of which..." Ecquis trails off as he exits the room and starts looking for Cherry. She did guide him towards the object he now possessed, and he might as well tell her what it is he found.
