Praise The Sun... and Moon - Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon
Masquerain replied to Godot's topic in Pokémon Fan Club
Just take it as a failed attempt to make a lynx pokemon because it physically is no more than a lion sphinx :| But anyway, onto sunmoon possible legend names... There have been theories floating around already that solgaleo could be derived from the obvious sol for sun and 1. galeo - type of shark in spanish 2. leo - lion 3. galileo galilei ?_? Lunaala - since it's japanese, usually an extended "aa" can mean Lunarla or Luna-ala (luna-ara even ) option 1. moon wing (luna+ala in latin and latin root languages) 2. ara is a constellation, so not related to ala (wing) 3. In the case of lunarla ...well, it could be something completely different than what the current theories are -

Your game and its world can pull such things off .. I mean we had Bill stuck as a Pokemon back in the first gens as well so it's not that weird. Things like Ashfrog though..that simply came out of nowhere and is cringe-worthy indeed. It's no mega but it's going to rek all the megas it faces eventually (Speaking of which, I'm going to be a salt factory if mega zard x loses this thursday) . It's even more ridiculous since Ash has no stronger bond with his frog than he SHOULD have with his pikasheet and yet... Well I'm just choosing to view it as their excuse to give ash ANYTHING resembling a mega since he has no pokemon on him that actually can megavolve (Seriously though, thatanime is making me hate greninja :I ) -

I never really thought much about it. I just took it as it is- the game is heavily based on tales of games, so it was simply normal for it to go there. In pokemon games, I always felt a kind of disappointment in the fact people only really use their pokemon for battles and never really for actual cooperation bar some instances of machokes moving things and whatnot. I'd like to see more "field effects" of pokemon like in ranger games I guess In a normal pokemon game, however, I probably wouldn't wanna see speshul snowflake trainers ( I'm sorry, I loathe ashfrog and that whole plot) UNLESS they are really going to go back to what they told us in sinnoh lore, that pokemon and humans were once the same being , which would probably get disturbing fast.. Anyway, not even sure this is related to your question but, yeah, generally, if it were a regular pokemon game, I'd probably mind trainers randomly having special abilities from nowhere, but since it's based on one such series of games that go there, then I don't mind and take it for what it's aimed to be.. Did that even make sense.. Oh well -

I'm just going to quietly sit here and hope they don't use these trademarks..a Lion and a...whatever else? Wasn't really what I hoped for in these legendaries... BUT, you know what else this means? If the sun legend will really be based on a lion, it adds more confirmation to the region being based on Singapore as it is called the Lion city (also garden city) P.S. Serebii says it is not even confirmed the trademarks belong to pokemon as they were registered by a japanese IP Lawyer. He does say it might be a registration via proxy but it's not confirmed -

Resembles a lion... with rounded ears and whatnot... does in no way resemble a lynx, neither by mane, face, ears, tail or anything I: Even the name origins are more leaning towards sphinxes because ...yea no idea which part of that line resembles anything other than lions.. And If they MEANT to base the evo line on lynxes, well they failed hard and I want an actual one -

shinx is no lynx ^ It's a sphinx more like it (note the different colored body and the fact sphinxes are half lion) But yes, I'd like to see pure flying types or different flying combos. Bug poison, grass poison, bug flying and normal flying is far too common. Talonflame line was a nice change -
I'm just gonna wait here for that lone person who chooses Go for the lols

I'd wanna have the name of that story, sounds interesting And yeah, Fern's pride is sky-high but there comes a time for every person when they simply have to swallow it

Can't say I do that much but I do watch ShadyPenguinn's live wifi battles .. If someone is cool/entertaining enough, I'd watch their playthrus as well

Is that even a question.... SunMoon all the way, Go sucks. 1.

I think it depends on which region you set for your 3ds ( I have the garden pattern by default and I set my 3ds to the UK initially) -

Why, I must say, I am blind. The faded color eluded my ever-so-observant gaze :Kappa: No but really, I'm just blind And well, I more like meant actual dog breeds and not dog-like pokemon.. We only have lilipup and houndour when it comes to dog breeds I think... We have a bunch of cats. I'd like to see some more dog breeds I guess.. But I also want to see a cool snake pokemon (poisonsteel dragonsnake pls) Mosquitoes, bug poison, indeed, seems legit... And I'm still hoping that screenshot doesn't mean the whole thing is tropical :X -

Wellp, your tldr sums it up I guess, but that doesn't have to be a bad thing. You're right that doing things yourself is the best way to hone your skills (Dylan used hone claws ) . Your enormous dedication will always be unrivaled and should you ever discontinue your project for whatever reason.. I can't imagine there will be anyone out there to top what you've accomplished. I do hope, however, for your own sake, that you consider toning down these tendencies you have in your real life, as they may one day really drive you to something akin to rock bottom and that will not be good on you. In this world we live in, it's sometimes necessary to let go of one's pride in order to "survive" or not fall into the slump of society. They say no money is wasted if spent on something valuable to yourself, but always make sure you don't overspend and make sure you're able to get by properly before anything else All in all, never forget, we appreciate you and what you do just as much as you appreciate us. That among other reasons is why it's important for motivation to interact with your fanbase...so even if it took you 4 years, we're all glad you decided to make a post for this project. -

that looks like it could be a water/steel thing We are indeed missing dolphins, we are also missing..you guessed it- mosquitoes! Ahahahaha... who even cares about mosquitoes though.. We also don't have a koala pokemon... or a lynx... I'd want to see a blue jay pokemon too, or a colibri .. I'd like to see more dog breeds too -

Well, we did KIND of get our own berry fields in Kalos..there was the berry mutation stuff. It was a step further from what we used to know in that we had to take note where to plant what in order to get a certain mutation and whatnot. It's been so long since we actually had a need to use berries that I feel pretty distanced from the whole concept of them but hey, we had ORAS to revive their usage with contests -

Well , the biggest postgame is gen2's kanto really. I wish they'd give us SOME side story as "long" as that one, even if it's within the same region (they could do like Unova and have you visit and explore the optional areas and towns in the post game)..or..or... Blasphemy!!! They could actually give all those random legendaries a mini plot!!!! -

I am a big fan of harvest moon games too, but really, I'm not so fond of even the 3ds generation of THAT game... Since it's literally just that, farm, make bonds and pass time. There is not even that mini-plot objective in those games anymore... I would find pokemon without any form of antagonist rather dull and akin to a pokemon mmo..or even pokemon go. I don't mind them following their formula and whatnot, but I wish they'd go further with it, expand on it, introduce something new with it, and stop giving us games with no post-game -

Masquerain replied to Godot's topic in Pokémon Fan Club
Well, I personally never liked Kanto or team rocket because even if gen 2's TR was a bit different, it lacked a serious plot in my eyes. They just felt random and out there doing random stuff. The issue with Pokemon games is that if you don't go big, it will also be boring and not bring on any gravity of the situation. Even reborn has a megalomaniac evil team, except Reborn brilliantly entwines goals, methods, characters, factions (cultists) to make a very exciting, grave and deeper plot. That's why I really can't picture anything much different than megalomaniac evil teams... Ultimately, what we mostly look at is the way they execute that familiar plot, the Characters, the methods, and the story bound to all that. I also agree with the box legend comment, if they weren't used by the bad guys, what importance would they have? BW went as far as to pit legend vs legend, that's a good start. They could have also done something with Xerneas and Yveltal but alas, they serve as nothing more than a cocoon 1time appearance.. I would actually want to see games that show us at least a little bit of the "aftermath" of when the bad guys succeed in their plans (Oh hey, I have to mention gen 5 here again...) Bw2 actually showed us the process of freezing the world at least to some degree. It would be far better to once again (but go further) experience the adventure post- evilteam domination for a while before we go through the process of stopping them.. -

Masquerain replied to Godot's topic in Pokémon Fan Club
Well, if you think about it, not even Pokemon movies ever change... That whole franchise just seems to be reluctant to change and try to move beyond what BW achieved. (Literally every movie out there past the 3rd,4th or 5th one were about big legend(s) rampaging or fighting and the small legend + ash having to stop them, while some weirdos are hunting the small legend) The games are the only thing that I can still get hyped for when it comes to pokemon sadly (and plushies ) I am really curious why they're keeping everything so secret about SM after a month and a half of nothingness. They really better live up to all this hype and teasing they're building up...
