Didn't know where to ask this but was just wondering considering the release of all Gen6 now, whats the plan for the 6th gen starters? Are you going to add them in to the start or just make them event pokemon? Edit: DW re-read the fine print and will be reseting for a new game shortly

A perfectly balanced tier is impossible due to the various playstyles available to players of OU. Some strong pokemon essentially become deadweight against these playstyles however. This may sound crap at first but its actually a good thing that players have various playstyles available to them and this ensure a healthy metagame. Some pokemon are simply more viable against popular threats then others and though the tiers are based on usage as long as we play competively we will favour mons that threaten popular mons the most. Mons like jolteon still have their place in OU as part of very specific hyper-offensive, volt-turn, screen setting or batton passing strategies despite it is a small niche. Btw when i saw this post I literally just 6-0 someone on wifi with jolteon playing a key part of my volt-turn core so i know he may not be as threating as he used to be, he can still kick ass and threaten so many mons like Talonflame and Azumarill.

I feel like the loss of being able to use items stops 90% of megas being too difficult to control. What makes megas difficult to deal with is when they are self sufficient and require no support to do there job aka MKhan and OPKungFuChicken. MKhan can literally act as a sweeper, revenge killer and stall breaker that can threaten a huge portion of the metagame all in one. best part? No support neccesary (rest talk seismic toss should be enough to ban it alone) Mblazekin requires no introduction. Yes there are counters but they are few in number and they are legit the only way outside of mass priority to deal with it. Not that fussed with gengars stall breaker set or lucario at all but can understand how people feel but i just feel they at least are manageable. just an opinion and nothing more though

Had a game of 6v6 this morning with a random passerby. Dude had shiny goodra, greninja, sylveon, lucario and noivern in his team. traded shinies with him afterwards and he showed me his shiny aerodactyl, scizor, tyranitar, remoraid and gyarados. Added him as a friend but I'm under the impression he uses the masuda method cause he has logged a lot of hours and has alot of boxes filled with eggs. coolest shiny encounter of my life

I think they have an amazing wealth of information on competitive battling but the amount of fighting and arrogance drives me nuts but I do confess I lurked around on smogon before moving on. never posted anything there though because I didnt want to get into online verbal warfare. Its just unfortunate that some smart people have an ego that can only be satisfied by excercising there right as a keyboard warrior. Variation is good and keeps the game fun, we all don't have to use the same sets or things would just be predictable. where i think me and most smogon minds differ is a set shouldnt be used to maximise the pokemons individual effectiveness but rather the teams and this is where I think the oppurtunity for creativity lies. I use a curse rest talking goodra and smogonites can cry about it not having an assault vest when i kick there ass on wi-fi.

Core of dual fires and Mamoswine. Very water and ground weak. Rotom-w is a good utility physically bulky set fixes a lot of your problems like azumarril. Get shard back on swine or dragons will be a pain in the ass. If not try adding scarf mence to the party to revenge or a scizor to lure in fire attacks for doom to come in for free.

Got the same idea myself but not into advertising (im not that generous but if anyone is interested you can find what i have in X and Y trading thread haha). Just dropping an idea if you haven't come up with this on your own but what i've done is when I breed stuff I always make sure i produce, in addition to the end product i am after, a male and female of that species leftover. between the two I will have all desired IVs as well as natures, abilities and movepools possible. For example if someone wants a skarmory from me i simply chuck my 31/31/31/0/31/31 impish sturdy male with my 31/31/0/31/31/31 careful sturdy female in the DC. both have brave bird and whirlwind but i can simply chuck an everstone on the desired nature and a destiny knot on the other. If you find this helpful in the long run I am glad i can spread the method. Also interested in possibly obtaining seadra & gyarados (female hidden ability if possible please)? can do natures and IV's myself but have plenty of competively viable mons available.

Whirlwind for skarmory. No questions asked. You need rocks up on something as well maybe skarm but nothing better then whirlwinding on someone trying to switch in Talonflame or Volcarona expecting you to put down spikes just to take 50% damage on entry then get phased out immediately. Also to help salamence clean up try megaGengar over maybe absol? traps fairies, dragons and steels and destroys them with the appropriate moves.

So many things I do not know. Might do an eevee trainer run of y now with this knowledge

I'll take a HA froakie and a larvitar (does it have rocks and pursuit btw?) please. Have adamant Thick Fat Swinub with Stealth Rocks, Icicle Crash and good IVs? Not to mention anything in the above list and I bred a 31/0/31/31/31/31 modest ghastly for you that you never grabbed ages ago if you still want it?

If there were two pokemon that could use sacred fire more then anyother its flareon and entei in my books haha

Sacred fire is physical btw. Think Flare blitz with a little less power and PP, no recoil and an abuse able burn chance! Why can't they give me sacred fire arcanine!
