  1. "It looks like an old friend of mine is headed this way." Hearing those words, Henry took no time to hesitate. "I'm so glad you think so highly of me. One day we wanted to stab each other with forks and the next thing you know it's like we're like besties." He silenced himself for a few seconds to see how angry Kenny was. "I see you practiced enough times with your Zorua that you feel ready for the real thing. Care to fill me in how well it went?" Henry saw Zuko begin growling at the Zorua, "Zuko, we're not in a battle and we certainly don't want to start a fight. Play nice now. Sorry, I can't really blame him as you did punch him the first day of school."
  2. "Oh joy, Sturdy. I totally didn't see that one coming. If I had one poke for every time that trick was pulled on me, I'd be able to get a free premiere ball." Henry looked to see if he knew anyone in the crowd. He noticed Danielle talking to someone he tended to avoid out of spite. "Kenny, Kenny, Kenny, you tempt me to run over there and poison your Zorua so much. Nah, I think my presence will be more than enough. It's certainly more entertaining than the battle." He flopped down from the rock and began heading into the crowd. He wasn't quite ready to make a move on Kenny yet. ((K_H, Henry is no longer pissed at Kenny. He just enjoys his suffering))
  3. Henry was sitting on a rock in the distance carefully analyzing the battle. "Huh, looks like this battle got a little bit boring. One can't simply hit the other. I'm surprised both haven't collapsed with the strenuous amount of attacks they've used." Henry gave a little bit of a smirk while saying that. His pokemon were rather confused. "You probably don't understand because I train to avoid that. Take Zuko's Drought for example. I could have Zuko quadruple his fire power by maximizing the heat, but he'd only last a few seconds before collapsing. It's a high risk, low reward tactic. It's usually used to learn better moves; something I should try a little harder for." Henry then watched as more people gathered around the battle. "I'm surprised it's as popular. Then again, I'm watching this because I have nothing better to do." Suddenly, the Magnemite fell from the sky. "So ginger takes the first blow. Finally."
  4. Stall battles are a pain in the ass to both read and write (if your not the one causing it). Yes, I agree with that statement as I'll use my strategy as an example (K_H, you may feel a bit ashamed for not realizing this): When Zuko flung Gypsy at the enemies, did you ever think who that tail whip went to? That's right, Gypsy was at a -2 Def for hitting both Pokemon with Bug Bite. Zorua's Scratch and Riolu's Quick Attack would've taken care of it easily. You also could've reduced the damage on Zorro by knocking Gypsy off his back with Quick Attack (Zuko would've KO'd Rhy and Zorro would have to Gypsy).
  5. @Exlink: You are pulling of way too many attacks per post. Maybe a Sonicboom and Magnet Bomb to stop the attack, but a pokemon even in the 50s shouldn't be capable of something like that so rapidly. (101 would take damage but survive) Edit: I know I used 6 embers with Zuko in my Kenny vs Henry battle, but A) that shouldn't of happened, B. Knocking fire attacks back at a Vulpix would just mean its fully charged/overcharged (has fire inside body), and C) that battle went South way too fast
  6. While that is true, we should try to be aware of everyone else's choices. I may have Henry eventually catch Bagon/Axew down the road because of something that'll happen in the future.
  7. Imagine a scenario similar to Ash and the 30 Tauros And OH DEAR ARCEUS DO NOT GET A DRUDDIGON! Shiro already has enough problems controlling Shun and Tal.
  8. I just have a strange feeling Kenny, Shiro, Robert, and Henry will form the world's most awkward bromance. If your PC wants to know about something illegal, Henry is probably the best person to go to. The things you can get away with in Pyrite Town. As long as it's not extreme violence or murder, you're pretty much off the radars. Edit: I have a different Pokemon planned, but would you rather see Henry catch a Bagon? He hates Bagon, I mean really hates that Pokemon.
  9. I'm just having Henry prepare for the worst to come. Besides, he likes to teach the fundamentals before making his Pokemon strong. Zuko will not evolve until the 30s like most of Henry's planned team. Fun fact: Henry is actually having a bit of trouble walking. It's hard to tell, but a PC might notice it if they look carefully.
  10. Henry saw Shiro was excited to be fixing everyone a meal. "I'm going out for some training. If you need anything, you'll know where to fine me." He doubted Shiro heard him, but he really didn't care. He headed outside and was a bit annoyed seeing trainers make fireworks instead of trying to prepare for what could possibly become a dangerous journey. Henry settled over to a spot quite a ways away and pulled out a dodge ball and some oran berries. "Alright, we're going to do some quick practice. First, I want to make sure you guys have that one strategy down." Henry threw the Oran berries straight at Gypsy, but were suddenly stopped in mid-air and dropped to the ground. She was taken off guard by an incoming kickball heading her way. Zuko was fortunate enough to intervene with his Faint Attack. The ball now was in mid-air and Gypsy released a purple powder around it. "As long as we get that powder out, I think we'll be fine." Henry watched as his Venonat celebrate her victory by chowing down the Oran berries, her favorite. "You two do have an issue though. Whenever I'm not giving orders, the two of you can't seem to keep it together. I know you may not like each other too much, but you have to work together." Henry picked up the kickball. "The goal here is to keep the kickball in the air for a minute and a half. Don't think this is going to be easy as I'm going to intervene to throw you off. Just remember that if you fail, both of you are eating bland poke food the whole trip." The two Pokemon shuddered at the thought and began trying to communicate to one another. Shortly after, they looked at Henry prepared for his challenge. The two pokemon started out by bouncing the ball back and forth using their heads. That didn't last long as Henry nailed the ball far away. Zuko quickly chased after it and dove to just barely save the ball. The Venonat the held it in the air with Confusion giving enough time for her partner to recover and bounce it back to her. The two kept bouncing it back until Henry tried spiking it to the ground. To his surprise, the Venonat caught it with Confusion inches before scraping the ground. She kicked it back up with her foot and launched it with a Tackle. It wasn't over yet as Henry had one last trick up his sleeve. He knocked the ball so that it was high above his head. His Pokemon quickly reacted with Gypsy biting down on Zuko's tail to be flung up in the air. She used Henry's head as a platform and knocked the ball back over to Zuko, but she didn't hit it quite far enough. Zuko charged toward the ball, but he fell and watched the ball bounce against the ground. "One minute; 29 seconds," Henry said as he looked at his stopwatch. "So close." He watched his pokemon who seemed quite disappointed despite their hard efforts. "I'm just kidding. It's actually 1:45, but I wouldn't have punished you no matter what happened. I just wanted to show you that you can accomplish quite a lot when you're not trying to get on each other's nerves." Henry paused for a moment before continuing. "I try my best to give orders based on my judgement, but I won't always be able to. When we get stronger, it'll be a lot harder hearing my voice so I want you guys to be able to adapt to unexpected situations similar to what I did to that ball. That's all for training today so feel free to relax a bit." The two were quite surprised as they were use to much longer and more difficult workouts than a simple ballgame. "Although I should return this before I get in trouble." Henry picked up the ball and the three quietly returned the dodgeball to its rightful home. They then decided it might be fun watching that little battle from afar.
  11. 1. True, but Alvin and Evan are pretty much in the same boat 2. Not going to disagree as I do like Lana 3. Let it be Kenny, let it be Kenny As for the cottage selection: Poor Alvin (I can't believe I actually said that)
  12. I know Stratos wants to ship his PC with her, but you have to admit the forever alone jokes are priceless. Edit: It's not intentional. She's just kind of invisible.
  13. "Honestly, I'll eat just about anything," Henry spoke. Once you have to dig through a trash can for food, you pretty much will never complain about food again. "Zuko prefers seafood, but he'll settle for any type of meat. I really can't cook so we often just eat whatever is easy to make when the cafeteria closes. Surprise us and we won't complain. Oh yeah, Gypsy likes Berries, but I already have that covered. Sometimes, I enter that forest looking for Oran and Sitrus Berries. Pretty easy to find if you know what you're looking for." Not looking forward to this expedition. Still, it's odd how these two pests still cling on to me. I told them multiple times just to be friends with Kenny and ignore me. So why do they just keep coming back?
  14. Some random trainers get cocky thinking Henry will be an easy win just because he's a coordinator (btw all coordinators lost their battles). Since he has prior experience, Henry can shut quit a few of them up in a double battle (loses about half his single fights). As for contests, Henry's going to have a hard time getting past that preliminary round. Edit: I'm not trying to sound arrogant or sueish, this is just a fun little way for me to tease Shiro's low amount of BP. (I'm pretty sure I'll allow Bfroger to leech some of Henry's BP). Once we get full and reserve teams, Henry's going to have plenty of very hungry mouths to feed.
  15. Before you say 300 BP is an insane amount, you have to remember Henry doesn't necessarily pay for every meal. If you don't spend money, it'll eventually add up and Chim did say if you did good in school and didn't gamble it all in battles, you wouldn't struggle with any BP problems. @Bfroger: Don't be afraid to decline Henry's offer if you think Turbo has it covered (3-4 people is still quite expensive). He'll simply just follow you and leave if he sees Kenny. (Henry is going to be hella pessimistic in this chapter)
  16. "I was thinking of maybe going to buy some food... Maybe even meet up with Robert. He said he was gonna help me make lunch for tomorrow..." "You're having BP problems, aren't you? I bet that's why you're bothering me today. Alright. I'll go with you and pay for your expenses. I have over 300 BP so don't be afraid to go all out. Just think of it as returning the favor for all those meals you've made." Henry really didn't have any other plans and had hard times finding what to spend his BP on. He kept his grades up on gambled good chunks of BP against trainers. It saddened him quite a few of his opponents didn't understand the fundamentals of double battles. It wasn't like the battles he had in Pyrite Town. "I just hope this isn't one of your plans to try and make me become friends with that Kenny kid."
  17. "Dragon types. It just had to be dragon types," Henry griped as he headed back to the dorm to pack what little he had into a backpack. When he finished, he looked a the little wrist gadget sitting on his desk. "I guess that call home will have to wait. Once we get back, we'll test it out then return these tools back where they belong. It took forever to convince that guy to let me borrow them." Henry put a soldering iron as well as a few parts in a box under his bed. He then carefully put the Xtransceiver on top before sliding it under. A Vulpix jumped on the desk in front of Henry angered by his words. He eventually came to terms and was rather disappointed. The Venonat simply stood there and watched. Being a nocturnal creature, she often stayed up with Henry through the night and would bite him if he ever tried pushing himself to go too deep into the night. Henry then gave a deep yawn, "Maybe I'll get some decent sleep on this trip. Still, it's a pain we have to be around so many dragons. Let's just hope they're not as aggressive like the ones trainers used in Orre. I'm sure you'd rather not have another battle with them any time soon." Zuko aligned himself into a proud stance. He wasn't going to let one loss to a dragon ruin his reputation. "Vulpix!" Henry gave a laugh, "I'd say was have a better shot at the Dragons than we do at the rock type at this point. I might try getting a ground type; otherwise, it's going to be one rough fight." He saw his Venonat join Zuko to show she wasn't afraid. "I probably could figure something out. We still don't know who are next partner is so let's just forget about strategy right now. The trio then wondered around the halls for a bit. Henry was probably the only kid in school not excited to go on this field trip. He needed something to get his mind off of it.
  18. Zuko (Vulpix) Lv 20 -Ember -Feint Attack -Fire Spin (New) -Quick Attack (New) -Confuse Ray (Replaced Tail Whip) -Baby-Doll Eyes Gypsy (Venonat) Lv 17 -Confusion -Bug Bite -Tackle -Leech Life (New) -Poison Powder (Replaced Supersonic) -Disable Still what would I'd consider weak, but a lot better than what I started with.
  19. "WHY! CAN'T! YOU! PEOPLE! JUST! LEAVE! ME! ALONE!" Henry yelled those words as he continously thrust his fists into a tree. He didn't care about the pain or how many splinters he got. Suddenly, his side began hurting again and he slowly laid himself down leaning against the tree. He now had a good look at his Pokemon. His Venonat didn't seem to be bothered by it, but tears began filling up in the Vulpix's eyes. I'm sorry. I didn't realize what I was doing was upsetting you. I just couldn't control myself. I try to think about how you feel to try and contain it." Henry saw the Vulpix shaking its head left and right. He was surprised and thought what else could be upsetting. Then it came to him. "You miss her, don't you." The Vulpix nodded its head slightly. "Come here." The Vulpix snuggled up to Henry trying to hide its face in his chest. "I'm so selfish. I was worked up about all my problems that I completely forgot you have it much worse. Even though we've had many battles together, you're not my pokemon. There's no greater pain than a Pokemon being separated from its trainer. I should've thought about that before taking you with me. My head was just fogged up by everything." Zuko looked up and tried to put on a brave face. He didn't regret coming with Henry. He even tried holding back the tears. Henry than responded, "Don't worry; I know you wanted to come with me, but that doesn't mean you can't cry once in a while. You've endured things that even a big strong pokemon like Tyranitar couldn't handle, and I'm proud of you for that." The Vulpix seemed to feel a little better now, but still rather depressed. "There's a broken Xtransceiver I found in the junk yard before coming here. If I work at it long enough, I might be able to get it to work. My dad would be able to find her so that you could talk to her. Would you like that?" The Vulpix gave a slow lick to Henry's face. "I do remember one thing she always sung a little lullaby to help calm you down. My singing voice isn't that good, but would it help if I tried singing one?" The Vulpix slowly nodded its head. "Here goes:" Henry gently sung the lullaby and was sure he messed up a line or two, but it seemed to put the Vulpix into a deep sleep. Henry carefully picked up the Vulpix and held it into his hands. The Venonat gave him a strange look. "Yeah, she had a strange habit of twisting the words, but that's just how he likes it. It's pretty late so we may as well get to bed too." Henry quietly walked back hoping not to wake anyone. He unlocked the door to his room and noticed a place of pancakes left on a counter. He was so hungry that he couldn't help himself and finished off the whole plate before preparing for bed. A Vulpix remained snuggled by his side making the Venonat a bit jealous. The poor boy was forced to keep still in fear of crushing the Vulpix on one side of him or the giant bug on the other. Eventually, he fell asleep for the night. He knew he was going to be pretty busy trying to fix that machine so he needed all the sleep he could get. ((This is my last post for Ch 1. I doubt the others have anything to add at this point))
  20. (Gives an evil grin) He's not mad at Shiro or Robert, but that statement is incorrect. I'll have one more post which will be my final.
  21. If it keeps people's minds off shipping HenryXShiro, I'm all for it. That one is not gonna happen.
  22. We shall see if Mareek thinks the price is worth it. I'm sure Chim will release Alvin on him at some point as well. Lana really is unfortunate knowing Henry, Claude, Danielle, Alvin, Evan, and Shiro as none of them seem interested in her, but they'll probably get in the way of Stratos's master plan. Stratos, you give us too much fun
  23. As long as you don't try questioning him, he'll act pretty normal. He's going to stay bitter, but will be able to be in the same room and ignore Kenny. I mean Shiro and Robert are some of the few people who tolerate Henry. By normal, I mean little conversation that sometimes end with an insult (looking at Shiro's and Robert's personalities, they'd probably just shrug it off). @Dobby: I already warned Stratos so full speed ahead.
  24. @K_H, Turbo, and Bfroger: you amuse me with your trying to understand Henry and the situation. No matter how you put it, he's the bad guy in the situation. I wouldn't even bother trying to fix the situation as you'll only make matters worse. @Bfroger: Even if you heard him say Orre, you'd likely not know where that is unless you live in Unova. Even then, they might not realize it either. On the dragon expedition, Henry will return to his normal self and you can ask him certain questions, but don't expect him to answer many if any at all.
  25. Alright since chapter 1 is almost finished I would like to get some feedback from everyone involved; especially since it’s my first time as a host. Be gentle with me Senpai What do you think of the RP so far? Did you enjoy it? I am having a blast. We may be having a little too much fun What about my writing? Where can I improve? I like it. It's always fun seeing what you're going to throw at us next. I'm bit rusty when it comes to writing, but I agree with Dobby you could have a bit more details. (You're doing better than me as I'm committing so many writing sins) Which NPC’s feel real / which NPC’s need improvement? They all feel real with Alvin sticking out as the best. Lana feels a bit invisible, but it's something that works well for her. At this point, I can't really judge teachers too much. Who is your favorite NPC and why? Alvin (though I really like them all) because you can make fun of him and don't feel bad. Seriously though, it's fun interacting with all the NPCs so far. Who is your least favorite NPC and why? The chef from the dishroom. I really feel bad for saying this, but either Lana or Redwood. They aren't bad, they are kind of what you'd expect and don't have that charm like the other NPCs What do you think will happen plot-wise (first year)? Ships. Lots and lots of ships. I really don't have too much of a clue as I thought Evan would evolve his Eevee already. If it were Henry, he would've thrown the stone against the wall and burned the paper. I don't think we'll see too much of RoG though. They will be stopped by the fence sorry, I'll stop with that joke now What do you think of me as a host? Honestly, I think you are doing a fantastic job for this behemoth of an RP. Huk's jealous Is there anything you like to see as an event in this RP? Henry and the Deerling I'd like to see a 1v2-6 against a teacher similar to vs Solaris. Is there anything else I can improve upon? You've already improved quite a bit. I'd say try designing students to have more interactions/Free days in order to give RoG the time they need to complete missions. Some sort of balance is needed. What's your favorite ship? All of the ships....Kage x Ryan One a different note, I have a quick question. While some students stick out more than others, some PCs haven't talked to everyone. Which PCs would you like to have more interactions with? (This would be good to know so I or someone else will be able to keep this in mind). I already agreed to have a few more with Shiro already.
