...dammit. Now I know what was bothering me about his character. Well, thank god he knows nothing about contests otherwise I'd be in a hellhole right now.

If you people are trying to follow Henry's example, please don't. He's able to pull of these strategies because he has battle experience (probably the only one with Double Battle experience as well). I'm fine with people using strategies because they look and sound impressive, but try giving orders to do that. Henry's a bit of a special case because he's done a bit of the vigorous training with Zuko in Orre (again, it fits his backstory). @Exlink: I'm more of a fan of using moves to weaken the damage blown than dodging. My Pokemon only dodged moves that were illegal or were used in an unjustifiable way (though I did leave some exceptions). It makes the fight a bit more fun and challenging that way.

Breaking out of a Pokeball is possible from the anime. Snorunt could've been angered by Shiru that she split the poke ball in half. Better pray one of the teachers have a spare poke ball on hand because there's no way in hell Henry would let you even touch his empty one. Also, Shiro better fix this before Henry arrives. You'll regret it if you don't.

((Are we trying to send everyone to do dishes now? Party in the Dish Room. jk)) Henry watched the battle unfold seeing Lana now struggling to even damage her opponent. Henry watched as she ordered her pokemon to switch their targets. Looks like things have turned for the worse for her. The only thing going for her is that tanks are much frailer at an early stage. He then saw both Pokemon attacking. Good. Keeping the offensive pressure is the best thing to do in a situation like this. Henry sent out both his Venonat and Vulpix to keep him company. "You two are pretty good actors. You almost had me believing you were too weak to battle. I'll give you guys something extra for the great teamwork. You both deserve it." The Vulpix started jumping around excitedly. The Venonat stood the calmly before using Confusion to stop Zuko in his tracks. Zuko gave Gypsy a quick glare before going back to celebrating. Henry couldn't tell, but it looked as if she had a little grin on her face. "Well aren't you the little trouble maker. Even though she's a Skitty, you have to be related to Rosie or something. It'll be a bit easier to train you knowing that." Henry then heard a noise close by. He could just barely make out a horrifying scene between Shiro's Ralts and his newly acquired Snorunt. "What in the bloody hell?" He picked up Gypsy and put her on his head. "Zuko, let's move." The trio ran towards where Shiro was fully prepared to end this battle ASAP. -
@Bibs: one idea could be to have the Zorua shift into a Houndour while you trick some of the 15 into being a decoy team. The decoy team would then have to deal with a majority of the guard Pokemon while the others sneak inside.

I'll edit it to reflect that, but the 5 BP was a bet in the Shiro vs Roger, not your battle. You must've misread as trainers must agree on the BP amount before battle. Edit: Okay, just ignore the BP if you didn't bet any BP on. I finally figured out what you guys were talking about and maybe the / will clear it up. Only Henry vs Kenny and Shiro vs Robert did this.
-
So what the battles look like so far (forgive me if I screw up): Shiro (L) vs Robert (W)- 0-1 (Doubles) Kage (L) vs Ryan (W)**- 0-0 (1v1 Singles) Henry (L)* vs Kenny (W)- 2-1(Doubles) Slade vs Mareek- 0-0 (2v2 Singles) Claude (L) vs Colin (W)- 0-1 (2v2 Singles) James (W) vs Lana (L)* - 2-2 (Doubles) Evan (W) vs Alvin (L) - 0-1 (Doubles) Danielle vs Jacob - N/A *Forfeited Match **since Ryan's was the last pokemon standing, he won by default Winners: Robert (+5 BP) / Ryan (0 BP) / Kenny (+20 BP) / Collin (0 BP) / James (0 BP) / Evan (0 BP) Losers: Kage (0 BP) / Henry (-20 BP) / Shiro (-5 BP) / Claude (0 BP) / Lana (0 BP) / Alvin (0 BP) Draw: Slade and Mareek? (I'll update this as battles move forward)

Pretty much all I needed to hear (I would've made it a gradual, no abrupt change it I did anything). Just wanted to make sure because there might be a scene in the dishroom (poor Kenny having to listen to Alvis for a couple hours.)
-
Since Henry is quite anti-social, I have to use a lot of thoughts, but I'll eventually cut down once he starts opening up to people more. I don't know if you guys like seeing his (for lack of a better word) immoral personality or you want me to turn it down a bit (make him a bit nicer).

"I think I'll go watch another battle. I'll be hearing plenty of Alvin's voice tonight." I think I found a new use for these earplugs. "Don't worry, I'll catch your battle when it happens." Henry walked to a close by field and saw a Duskull and Ferroseed. Two powerful walls. This could be interesting. He then turned to see that the opponent was the girl he talked to yesterday. I think I'll stay and watch this battle, but I'll keep my distance. I don't want Cit...Lana getting nervous. Truthfully, the boy was more interested because it was a double battle. He didn't think so many students would be interested in the type of battle. He watched as Lana's Rhyhorn charged forward. I hope she knows what she's doing because exposing that Rhydon is very risky. -

((I must've mastered the art of ninjaing) Henry was unsure what to think of Danielle's compliment, but he knew he had to focus more on being supportive to Shiro. "I wouldn't worry too much about it as Gardevoir is a really good. If you train her right, she'll always be on top...of her game." That was a close one Henry. "I'd say don't worry about it's not like the time you waste is for naught. Take Zuko for example. Most of his species is female and is considered a girly pokemon." Actually, he's not as bad compared to Rosie. "Just because he's a guy and a bit embarrassing doesn't mean I love him any less." Henry quickly turned to Danielle. "If you make any jokes about that, I will have gassy boy follow you until I'm done with dish duty tonight." Too bad he's already recovered, but she doesn't need to know that. -

"Diglett? No, I already know everything I need to know about them, and I'm sure Lana does too!" I'm just going to assume he misunderstands because I really hate to ask. He's already shaken up as is. I know I'm not going to like, but I'll have to talk to Citrine...I mean Citrine...I mean Lana a bit later. I can't even keep it straight in my head. That's definitely going to be a pleasant conversation. "Danielle, I think the boy is already traumatized enough. He's lived who knows how many years thinking that his Ralts was a boy." Now that I think about it, that's hilarious. Don't laugh Henry, don't laugh. "We just need to be calm and supportive of this twist of an events." Henry was trying hard not to laugh. Each word he spoke just made him more and more tempted. -
Considering Henry lived in what would be considered the Ghetto for a few years, it's not out of the realm of possibility. @Turbo: The onix/harden one is a bit overdone, but there are so many different ways to say it. (Too bad Henry will rarely do an innuendo).
-
@Bfroger: I really hope Shiro is too naive to understand Henry's innuendo (thank the heavens Lana wasn't there). I had to use that one considering Lana's is planning on a ground Monotype.

"It's just that... Shun is a girl... The teacher told me after he examined Shun..." Henry gave a sigh of relief. "You had me worried there for a second. I thought you and that Lana girl were...how should I put it...learning about Digletts." Henry hoped he didn't embarrass Shiro too much with that comment. "Anyways, I don't see it being too big of an issue. I mean my Venonat is of the female gender, but we all seem to get along fine." -
@Bfroger: I don't care when, but please put Henry in at an awkward time. He has an amazing line that's just too good to pass. (Shiro is going to be so embarrassed).

"I was sleeping with a girl!" Henry heard it right when he pulled out one of his earplugs. So that's what he was doing while I was gone. I didn't think Shiro was that kind of person. The only reason he'd be surprised by that if he was... Henry picked his balls that were now fully healed and quickly walked over to Shiro. "Hey Shiro, is there something you're not telling me? I know you're a growing boy, but can you please not do that stuff while I'm your roommate. I really don't want to be the person to give you talk because it'd be awkward for both of us." -
@Darklight: I was going to have Henry cheer him up (by laughing at him first, but then actually cheering him up), but Danielle would do it so much better. @Chim: I feel really bad for Henry. If the other two slack off, he will do all the dishes by himself (even if it takes all night). Actually, I have to occasionally do dishes for my actual job. You'd definitely learn your lesson if you had to do all those dishes by hand (it takes forever).

Henry's Pokemon quickly got up and readied themselves for another round. They turned around and saw Henry adjust his glasses. The two pokemon suddenly collapsed to the ground completely and tried getting up, but they were unable to move. "Looks like I'm all out of Pokemon. Guess you win." He returned his Pokemon to his Poke balls. "I'm going to go heal my pokemon now. Don't spend all those BP in one place." Henry walked off the battle field and doubted anyone would fall for his illusion. Devin quickly pulled both the boys back over where Henry learned his punishment. He responded, "I will stay for however long I need to. I deserve it." This could've been much, much worse. I'm thankful Zuko will stay by my side. Henry then continued walking over to the healing machine. I could see it in his eyes. He was desperate to win. Too desperate if you ask me. Pushing a Pokemon like that can have some serious consequences, even causing permanent injuries. I've seen it happen too many times before. He then picked up the Poke Ball that contained Gypsy. "I'm proud of you. You'll make a fine partner for Zuko, just like he did for Rosie." He picked up the empty Pokeball and looked at it. I made a promise to never lose a battle again. Turns out my old man was right about one thing. 'It's just a stupid battle. You don't learn shit from winning all the time.' It's about time I moved on anyways. "Excuse me, ma'am," Henry asked the Nurse. "Do you mind healing my Pokemon? They're a bit damaged from the battle." Henry quickly put the empty poke ball back on his belt and pulled out Zuko's. "Don't worry about that other Poke Ball. It's empty anyways." -
The All Terrain Venonat really don't care. She could handle it all day, everyday. Zuko, on the other hand, can't. (Literally, I picture Zuko slamming into the Venonat, but the Venonat just stands there while Zuko screams in pain). @Bfroger: I kind of do a mix, but I do use a damage calculator so to get a general idea. @Noctus: I only have Henry do combos because of his past partner (I may go deeper into it in Ch 2). Just fight how you see your character fit and no one will judge.

The Venonat caught the Vulpix heading right towards and dropped him right onto the ground. The Vulpix was a bit bitter at both the Riolu and Venonat, but got over it quickly. Henry gave a quick smile seeing his foe was burned. He probably forgot about the little move I used earlier. With a fourth of its strength, it won't be able to take out both. "Zuko, go right and use Baby-doll eyes." Zuko distracted the Riolu by giving its cute little look once again. "Gypsy, head left and use Supersonic again." The distracted Riolu was hit by the move and lost all focus. "If he tries anything, just use the same tactic again. Don't worry if he hits you, he can't damage you enough at this point." --------------------------------------------------------------------- Gypsy (20%*): Confusion, Supersonic Zuko (75%): Baby-doll eyes *: Gypsy received some but the calculation would have to be 1/24th of a normal Riolu's attack power (something like .01%HP). The next attack would be 1/32nd due to another lowered stage of attack (1/4th normal attack). I'm only counting it as approximately zero because it's like throwing a stick at a bear and expecting it to hurt. After enough hits, I'll change the percentage. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- -
I actually used modified Physics to figure out the damage a reflected ember from a move would do. 2 Embers from a normal Vulpix (without sun) would do 98-105% damage. Since a reflected attack would have to have twice the amount of strength to have equal amount of force (without recieving damage) the combined attack would have to be nerfed. Since the Zorua absorbed 15% if of the damage, the full damage would be no more than 90% at full force. To counter for the impact, I would have to remove 25% of the damage meaning I would subtract 22.3% meaning the total would be 68.7% which I rounded to 70%. 95-70=25% being very close to 20% aka my estimation. (I'm actually kind of proud of myself for this). Edit: The Sun would've KO'd Gypsy (105%). Of course I'm estimating in Zorua's favor, but that's for another day.

Okay Chim, I just realized another major difference in Counter between game and anime. Counter/Mirror Coat are used individually for Physical/Special since (Gen III, but probably Gen II). Counter in the anime pretty much will reflect anything off. I doubt I'll ever use the move (you're a sitting duck). so what's your take on Mirror Coat and Counter?

Whew, that was a close one. The Venonat rolled itself back on its feet, despite taking two super effective hits. I was really lucky Zuko saw those Embers and stopped the Drought when he did. Henry once again felt a nice, pleasant cooling of the temperature. Then again, a reflected ember is much, much weaker. As Isaac Noibat once said, 'Energy cannot be created or destroyed.' Zuko saw the Embers coming back at him, but he couldn't help but get a light chuckle. He chomped down on both of them and licked himself as if he had a nice meal. This was the opponent that just beat him. He was in a bit of disbelief from such a foolish move. In fact, he could now launch a bunch of embers rapidly thanks to this little boost. He decided to wait for his master's orders before trying anything. "Gypsy, hold the foe with Confusion. Zuko, protect the queen." Never thought I'd use that one ever again. Gypsy held the Riolu still with Confusion, while Zuko released Ember after Ember while heavily guarding Gypsy to make sure no harm comes her way. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Zuko (90% HP): Ember (x6?) Gypsy (20% HP): Confusion Note: If you're wondering about how Gypsy has 20% despite it being super effective, see explanation in OOC. Also, counter was decided to be physical oriented, but Zuko the troll Vulpix found a way to fix that. (Also, there goes my drought again ) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
