  1. I'm just going to give you guys a list and you all can decide from there. Likely I'll be rewriting a few chunks of ideas, but nothing big should happen. Here's the list of possible legendaries to make for a plot. I like the fairy idea, but we can change or add legendaries if needed. Edit: Forgot Hoopa and Crescelia
  2. It'll probably only be about 12 in all truthfully. As for the plot, the main one will be simple, but I'll find ways to reward those who like to explore to get to better know the characters. Not everyone is going to have a super deep tragic backstory. Giratina is almost a necessary evil in this case. I don't like it, but it has its uses. Though I could use Yvelta in its place. Many of the legendaries I want to include really are never discussed such as Uxie and Regigas. I keep many things underwrapped from you guys until its a good time to present them.
  3. I guess the best example would be Cipher from Pokemon Colosseum. Team Snagem was pretty much the crime overlords at the beginning of the story being the guys who steal Pokemon and commit heinous crimes. Cipher was kind of underground at one point while they made the shadow Pokemon. Cipher then began to slowly take control of the region once their shadow Pokemon plan was nearing completion and became a bit more open (before they were hiding in front of everyone's faces). Cipher and Snagem are one and the same in Colosseum. Ultima was and will always be stronger than BN. They just aren't as open or flex their power like BN does (they are more secretive). To the people's eyes, BN is stronger, but in reality they are no match in Ultima. BN does have more influence so they have more numbers until they are almost dispersed by the Giratina fiasco.
  4. There's a lot going on so I'll try to answer your questions best I can. Just no that a full fledged plot is nowhere near written or established from my perspective. BN will exist in the story and have their moments in later arks but picture them more of a unit in Ultima. They won't be nearly as powerful and in a way be dogs to Imperius. I'm not too worried about battles because they can be done even after a story is written. As for Darkrai, you could if you wanted. I don't think there's an established Ultima plot yet. Yes and by force win, I actually mean you have to win to continue (which is kind of what you're saying). That'll be something that can be worked out later since it's a quick and easy decision. As for the admins, I have no bloody idea what's going to happen to them. I know there are three in which Jamak's was planned for a media takeover. That's pretty much it off the top of my head. I know there's more, but I don't feel like picking for skin and bones right. I haven't really touched insurgence, but you guys are kind of forcing me to play the legendaries theme card at this point. I suppose it might have similarities to the game. From the small bit I've seen, the characterization seems to be a little lackluster which is my biggest priority in this project. Making all character memorable is a difficult challenge, but I'm up for a challenge in my strong suit.
  5. Not much to comment on. Arceus in this game I'd consider a guardian who tries to keep order. He probably won't appear too much because he doesn't care about small problems. People blowing up a town or city: not his problem. Something screwing up the fabric of space of the world and possibly ripping it slowly to pieces: problem. I don't want him to be the main focus though. I just know legendaries are going to have a big emphasis in this kind of like Insurgence.
  6. I know that there are many different kinds of villains, but the psychopathic ones are usually my least favorite. I mean there are some exceptions (such as Albedo), but yeah, not my favorite thing. Trevor, the idea isn't terrible but flawed when you think about it. Your having the leader of BN use violence to get the player to speak out about something they likely wouldn't know much about. It's kind of like you running up to some random guy and demanding for National Security Defense codes or he'd be killed. There is one idea I really love and really isn't used. I'd look more into the body swapping concept and craft something up from that. There are many different ways to set and use a concept like this.
  7. Trevo, I read about half your post...but I honestly can't finish it tonight. I already feel the dizziness coming back on so I'm going to call it a day. I'll leave with what I have read. The Groudon thing sounds kind of silly when you think about. Picture it like this: You'd kill some random person for the soul purpose of food. That'd make me really uneasy as a grunt or even some higher ranks because when that thing has to eat...it's going to eat something. Also, villains do have morals. I guess it'd work best for BN as they're a cult. (Okay, I've talked to much. Will finish later now...bed).
  8. Yeah...no, not doing this. We basically have to completely start from scratch each release so...I'd rather not waste the efforts to this (you can if you want). I already have a list of 70 AI bugs that need tested and fixed in the E16 release so...my life will be busy when retesting a majority of leaders and a few key bosses.
  9. "Going Commando" hmm...I give you an 8/10 for coming up with that idea Darvan.

  10. I'm just waiting for someone to change Jamak's name back so that I can change it again XD.

  11. ...I have no words for this. http://prntscr.com/8a8lmg

  12. Go ahead, but I really can't promise you I'll change anything. I just thought of a way to weave many ideas that were thought out by many different people. Secondly, I wasn't looking for anything particularly special about this arc.
  13. Oh thank the heavens I found it. This might help with some of that Black November confusion going on. And yes, I know that my definition of a blue moon is wrong and we covered that thing already.
  14. @_@ This legendary stuff is going to make my head spin. I thought we were using the Lake Trio to unlock Giratina, but I'm not necessarily focused on what legendary goes where. Pbood let me make one thing clear: GIRATINA IS NOT THE BLOODY END BOSS AND NO WHERE EVEN CLOSE TO IT! When I say end of ark, that'd be about 1/3rd of the way into the game. That's actually the point where Black November is no more (I mean they are alive...but pretty much just Scorpio) and Team Ultima kicks in as the main bad guys. Think of it more as foreshadowing than anything. Truthfully, never was a big fan of the Pixies being the seals thing, but I'll roll with it. I was honestly thinking more along the lines of regi seals, but a little more complex approach. Not anything I'm worried about right now. One more thing Pbood, I did find a way to incorporate Giratina onto your team...pretty damn well. I'll PM it to you sometime tomorrow as I would rather not post it on the thread...for many reasons. (And yes, it actually involves Ice and that hatred thing).
  15. Giratina wasn't an end, but more of an end of arc battle (As I did say roughly 5-6 badges). As for legendaries, I really kept that door very opened due to so many of you wanting to use them. Seriously, go wild as you want for your gym leaders because I consider it a challenge to work with anything. And Pbood, it's really up to you. I mean I can think of effective ways for you to have Giratina, but part of my mind is going through that whole Xen admin who has a ghost monotype with Giratina on it. Ultima has barely been touched yet so pretty much anyone could say anything and it could be implemented.
  16. ...I didn't expect something like this to happen that fast. (Which is why I've been taking my leisurely time learning to code). Thank the heavens this didn't go beyond the triple veto. The very world as we know it may have ended.
  17. 1. Not a bad idea honestly, but I'm not sure how it'd work. 5 turns is short, but it's usually enough to get the job done (like weather moves). 8 turns at the most though. 2. gravity shouldn't really effect field effects. But if the above is implemented, there'd be no need for this section. 8 turns is a lot more than you think. 3. Cal, Charlotte, and Solaris all share this field yet you only picked Charlotte. If you want to talk about broken, Shade, Samson, and Blake's fields are far more broken than anything in Charlotte's field. Literally though, they give you an HM which is the bane of her field effect. Shade can be made so broken that you almost have to turn off his field effect, but Charlotte can only be made so tough. And as Rainbow said, Rain Dance or Trick Room will pretty much destroy her.
  18. (Please separate long posts into paragraphs. It helps so much). This'll probably be the first time I won't say much on something. An idea kicked in my head, but there's a lot to think about. First off, order of gym leaders does not equal order of appearance. IIRC, you said your character was part of the bad guys at some point. Having ties would be an easier way to associate him compared to having another person trying to stop them. But before you say your character would never do that, the lines between good and evil are very blurry and not everyone on Ultima will be evil. If Team Ultima is done and over with at Episode 17, I believe it should be kept that with with maybe one or two Grunt fights to show the aftermath. Maybe they do have some plans they never completed, but there shouldn't be any major fights with them.
  19. (Points to avatar title) I do give a warning. What may seem long to you is very short to me. Story is my strong suit followed by music (which Glaceon far surpasses me) so anything outside of there I'm almost clueless. Even though I don't always act like it, I know Jacob has the final say in everything. Maybe this will help us get on the same page. I want your complete and honest answer: who's writing the story? Also, no apologies. I like people who bite back. We have different beliefs. Truthfully, I learned almost everything about writing from someone else. I've met real life writers and online at, above, and below my level and learned quite a bit from each level. It's actually the ones who were hardest on me that pushed me to where I am now. (Sorry, it's a freaking curse that I write so much). Every writer is different and I'm nowhere near a professional. But yeah, while I do have the skill to write this all by myself and try to meet everyone's standards, I'd rather see a group of people writing it. And it's also good no one has wanted to stab me yet (though I'm sure some of you are thinking of it in your minds).
  20. Since this RP is done and over with, I'm locking this thread. If anyone is interested in reviving the project, PM me, but otherwise assume it's dead.
  21. I really need to stop making all those long posts.

Good to see you made this one short and sweet. Stay straight, true, and to the point.

  22. ...I don't even know how you could do that with all this stuff thrown around and so many unfinished unrefined leader profiles. Not to mention the many, many gaps in the whole Team Ultima (I'm sure you know a bit more...but there's just way too much missing for me to even consider using them). It's so easy to get carried and rush things, but I suggest slowing down a minute. A lot of info has been presented and most is just chicken scratch ideas. Generally when it comes to writing, I create a system that I refer to as a peg point system. At first, I start out by thinking of events that I want and must happen no matter how much the story changes (and trust me, it's possible it could be turned completely on its head for the final one). Generally, I think of how to get from one peg point to the next. Usually, I have a pretty good idea of what will happen, but more ideas appear the closer I approach it. It takes time as I usually come up with 50-60 ideas how to get to that point and try to pick the one that honestly would best work for the pegs. There are many, many revisions even after an idea is picked. It takes me months (even a year or two sometimes) to plan out a novel idea before I can even begin writing it. Even for this project, I let a lot of the ideas set in my head keeping them there to slowly grow. I did say that the black november only took me five minutes, but it only came to me after thinking about all the different ideas presented the past few days due to just barely having enough info to put something together. Though I would only consider that a small fragment of an idea and not the full thing. What takes so long is taking out the kinks (and trust me, there are days where I want to stand up and yell "I'M DONE!" but I don't). I guess what I'm saying is "Haste makes waste." That's a lesson I learned a long while ago and I was amazed at how much my quality increased when I started to take things slowly. I still feel this storyline is too premature, but if you think it's fine as it is, start drafting things out. (Has a pretty bad soar throat). I've just learned to toughen it out, but I understand. I don't even know how I was able to write pages with those 12 hour work days. I did collapse I couple times. Just don't go overboard and get sleep when you need it.
  23. You have good taste in music selection and are quite knowledgeable of it (probably way more than I would ever be). The size shouldn't be two big of an issue as also implementing it wouldn't. There's just been so much that hasn't been decided yet. If the game was much bigger than Reborn, I could see having leaders with their own themes justifiable, but we cannot say much on it for now. We also don't even know what roles the leaders will even play at this point. Some may literally be on the screen for one hour total if even that. Reborn uses about 80 songs and 1/3rd of them are battle themes so...that's just what I'm basing off of. It could be completely different. (If you do think this'll work, go for it though, but I'm just throwing logic in here). Most battles last about 1 minute on average with boss battles usually last 6 minutes if they're hard (12 for very difficult ones). The reason for them lasting any longer would be for stall or unpreparedness. Most of the game time is spent in the overworld when you think about it. The music selection isn't always important, but when you select the perfect song, it just makes the place fun to explore. The wasteland is a great example of this. The place was a jumbled mess, but the song helped with some of that tedious headaches and backtrack for me. Let's take this as a different approach. You could have every leader have a unique theme or you could have each set have one due to the different environments. Songs for special fights have a very powerful impact, one that is underestimated. It's often why the final boss has it's own theme that far outclasses any battle theme (for the most part). You're proposing to try this effect 24 times (at least). You could say that no other game has done this before and you'd be right. The reason should be obvious.
  24. ._. I know you are all excited about the whole gym leaders having individual themes but the likelihood of that staying is very slim for many, many reasons. The biggest reason is that they're the easiest thing to cut because they don't matter much. (Let's be honest, one time only songs are forgotten unless they're in a very major plot point). We're also in the idea stage where so many things are subject to change. Maybe I should explain everything that is going to happen with the story designing. Right now, we're in the idea stage. This is the point where everyone can throw in anything no matter what. This is the best way to get creative ideas that no one person could think of. The brainstorming here has been great and will help immensely make the story unique. Unfortunately, we can't have 15 people write a story, otherwise, we'll be here for two years working on it (or it'll end up being subpar and rushed). Usually, this stage ends when a "rough" outline has been established. I'd say this stage will last another month or two before moving on. The next stage is the drafting stage. This is probably going to be the point where 2-4 people get together and work on fleshing out the story. Depending on what Jacob wants to do, he may or may not be part of this. There'll be a lot going on outside of the story and people are going to be doing individual tasks and start creating the game. This stage is where the people start writing everything that will happen. This is a very slow process and the more people there are the slower it will be. Not everyone is going to agree with everything and changes will be made until finally a draft of the entire story is created. What happens after that will really depend on Jacob. Obviously, they're going to give him the finished storyline for him to look. Likely, there will be things he doesn't like and asked for them to be changed. The team would have to comply and then make the said changes until he is satisfied with what he sees. One member probably would be dropped for this point in order for him to script out the story as not everyone is a top notch writer. The game will almost indefinitely be in the making for this stage and likely Episode 1 or the first beta will be out to play before a finalized storyline is created. (good writing takes forever...trust me on that). I'm not saying this to sound like it's going to happen. I'm just saying it as that'll likely be what happens. I'm sure some of you would rather work and talk about other stuff than tiny details in a story such as music, starter pokemon, and event pokemon. I could care less about those and would rather work on the plotline no matter how minuscule or uneventful some section is.
