  1. Jory put his Premier Ball in the healing machine. It let out a soft *dun dun dundundun* before going dim again. Jory removed the ball from the machine and looked at Lupus. "Hey, Lupus, quick question. Does Lobo know Toxic?"
  2. Perseus looked up lazily at the two Trevenant. He knew from his time in the forest that these particular Pokemon were not fond of humans coming into their habitat, but they had very little ability to do actual harm to people. Perseus dragged himself in front of Jessica, facing down the two ghost trees. He let out a loud Yawn, two large silver rings emanating from his mouth and hitting the Trevenants. They both rubbed their eyes, then promptly fell over. Soft snoring came from both of them, making it clear that they were asleep.
  3. Jory nodded at Lupus, being careful to be quiet so as not to give away their plan. He followed Lupus, both of them heading toward the healing machine as fast as their attempt at stealth allowed them to.
  4. Perseus yawned and looked warily at the berries. They looked to be small, pink, and sweet. Then he looked up at Jessica and slowly reached over to her hand, removing a berry from it and, as though time itself were slowed down, took roughly thirty seconds to bring the berry to his mouth and take a large bite. The sweet Pecha juice dribbled down Perseus's chin and he smiled warmly at the girl.
  5. The way you left off didn't leave a whole lot of room for anyone to interact with you. It was as though you were ending a chapter. Perhaps edit it to provide said opportunity?
  6. I like the list and I would suggest adding Blaziken to it. With the addition of Baton Pass to its movepool, it's a huge threat in any sense of the word. Its coverage is undeniably superb and it has the potential to sweep entire teams unless they pack specific counters.
  7. "No! Shredder!" Jory cried out. He returned Shredder to his Premier Ball, looking wistfully down at the white capsule. "You did great, Shredder. It's up to them now."
  8. "Crap, crap, crap, crap, crap!" Jory said loudly. He turned to the rest of the team, addressing them. "Come on, guys, we can take her! Shredder, Crush Claw barrage, go!" With that, Shredder began a relentless series of Crush Claws at differing areas of the Sceptile's body.
  9. "Shredder, spring up and use Counter!" Jory ordered. Shredder sprung to his feet and intercepted the Sceptile's arms just below the shoulder. Then, his right claw glowed with a bright white light. "Now, finish this!" Jory shouted. Shredder swung his paw in a powerful uppercut aimed directly at Sceptile's head.
  10. Yeah, Murdoc, I think you're good. I'm worried about my guy coming off as a leech when he's really just lazy.
  11. Perseus smiled as the Trainer offered to give him some of her food once she was actually able to get it. Apparently, her name was Jessica. She seemed okay by Perseus's standards, but Perseus was wondering how she expected to survive out there. He looked near his head and saw that she had a small cut. The Slakoth realized that Jessica might need him to protect her while she went and retrieved their precious food, so he reached his front paws up toward her to signal that he wanted her to carry him.
  12. Perseus shook his head, disoriented after the fall. When his vision came into focus, he saw the young girl from earlier sitting near him. Evidently, she had decided to observe rather than directly engage him. The Slakoth lazily raised his head and dragged himself along the ground on his stomach using his front paws, eventually resting his head on her foot. Getting caught would be the life! Free transportation and all the food a Pokemon could want! he thought, letting out a rather noisy yawn. Ever since he'd heard of Pokemon Trainers, he'd wanted to befriend one. Getting fed every day and getting to battle as well? That was a good deal in Perseus's mind.
  13. Perseus hung lazily from a tree in the forest, minding his own business and eating a nice, sweet Pecha Berry. He was hanging below a branch, three of his limbs keeping him attached to the tree while the fourth slowly moved the Berry to and away from his mouth. He liked to rest above the stream so he could watch all the other Pokemon scurry about beneath him. None of them knew the value of moving so slowly that it was difficult to distinguish Perseus from the tree he was actually in. He looked around, taking roughly a full minute to move his head enough to scan the area near him. During this scan, he saw a human walking in the direction of Tiny's cave. Those were a rare sight since the Cataclysm and an even rarer sight in the area. Perseus sighed and finished his Berry, then slowly began making his way through the trees toward her. By the time he'd reached the girl, she was laying down outside Tiny's cave. I don't think she knows what's in there... he thought to himself. He was hanging over her, but how could he get her attention? Suddenly, Perseus noticed a Berry hanging from a nearby branch. He reached for it, straining his muscles in an attempt to not have to move to get it. He finally gripped it, but as he did so he lost his grip on the rest of the branch. His weight pulled the Berry off of its branch and he fell, landing with a slight grunt on top of the human.
  14. Shredder's powerful blow connected as the Sceptile continued its attack. When the Low Sweep connected, Shredder was knocked off his feet and onto his back. We've been in tighter spots before, Jory thought to himself.
  15. "Detect!" Jory ordered. The Zangoose's eyes glinted and he somersaulted through the air, landing behind the Sceptile. "Use Crush Claw again!" Shredder's claws glowed again as he began swinging them in a flurry at the Sceptile.
  16. I'm not sure what my deal is. I assumed I'd be with Ark from the start.
  17. Jory gaped at the Sceptile's speed. It was even faster than Shredder, which could become problematic very quickly. The phantasmal blades around Shredder's head disappeared and he opened his eyes just in time to see Gardenia's Sceptile bearing down on him. "Quick, Shredder, dodge it!" Jory shouted. Shredder jumped backward just as the Sceptile's arms were about to hit him, narrowly avoiding being hit. "Zan-goose!" Shredder said confidently as he rolled to his feet roughly ten feet from his foe. "Now, Shredder, use Crush Claw!" Jory ordered. Shredder's claws begin to crackle with a blue-white energy as he dashed at Sceptile and swung viciously at the reptile's midsection.
  18. Jory's mouth set in a determined grin. "Alright, Gardenia. Since I'm the challenger, I'll start us off. Shredder, stand your ground and use Swords Dance!" The cat ferret crossed his arms as a series of blue phantasmal swords moved around above him. After seeing that Venusaur use Hydro Pump and Bounce, we'd better be ready for anything, Jory thought to himself. This would be a tough battle.
  19. @Sarcus, didn't intend to offend. It's just a very rare personality type and when everyone and their mother has that personality, the RP tends to stall itself out. That's why it's important to have a mix of personalities in the group. Character sub. It's a serious app, but I can guarantee someone's going to tell me that "this isn't a joke." I chose to write the background story like a fairy tale because Perseus was a child when the cataclysm occurred. This is how he remembers it. Name: Cyrus Perseus Species: Slakoth Age: 21 years Appearance: Slakoth wearing a pair of hipster glasses Personality: Tends to be very lackadaisical. Overall a pretty amiable fellow, although he tends to ramble on when he speaks. Oftentimes disregards his trainer's request for him to get in his Poke Ball (ironically a Quick Ball), yet still refuses to move. This results in him having to be worn similar to a scarf, ferret, or sweater cape. Intuitive, yet trusting of others, he tends to be the first to spot a potential conflict. Due to his laziness and inherent want to "not have to deal with that crap," he will often try to avoid conflict. Background: Perseus was born on a lazy Sunday, delivered by a lazy doctor, and raised by a couple of lazy Slaking. He'd always been a particularly lazy fellow, so much so that many of his peers doubted he could even move at all. He would spend his days sleeping and napping and sleeping- When he wasn't eating, that is! They lived in a lazy forest right outside of the capital city. There had been a lot of humans in that city, but they weren't lazy. They moved fast, and even built cars to help them go faster. That was why it had been so scary afterward. No movement at all coming from the smoking ruins. Perseus huddled against his mother, her huge arms making him look tiny by comparison. They walked through the city, no longer at risk of being hit by vehicles or taken by the police. Since the cataclysm, Perseus has moved away from his parents. He has slowly been making his way around the region, taking in the ruined landscape. Whoever had done this had make life very hard for many Pokemon and many people.
  20. Personality Overview: Loner, tries to distance himself from others, but is conflicted, and tries to desperately protect those he considers friends. Very volatile as well. Easily gets upset and angry, and can have a hard time calming down. (Especially involving Death of a friend, a loved one, or someone he wasn't able to protect.) Also enjoys collecting trinkets of the past. The very idea of a "loner who is loyal to his friends" is pretty self-contradictory and in itself a gigantic, screaming cliche. The "very volatile" section confuses me and infuriates me at the same time. Your character does not have to have a serious mental disorder (such as anger problems or bipolar disorder) to be interesting. He is allowed to react to situations accordingly without breaking down crying every time something bad happens. If that is not what you intended, than "very volatile" is absolutely the incorrect phrase to use. I would suggest "reacts normally to situations." A character being prone to overreaction is inherently difficult and, frankly, undesirable to RP with. Additionally, one would expect him to mourn the death of a friend, loved one, or innocent bystander. This should not even need to be stated. If he were a complete sociopath who felt no connection to them and didn't mourn them, that would be worth mentioning. I love the part about him collecting antiques. It fits awesomely into a post-apocalyptic wasteland where new generations might not have any concept of what a television is even for. That part is good and should be kept. Sorry if I came on a bit strong, it's just that I've found that characters who do a total 180 every three posts are very difficult to account for and predict, which are both important in forum RP.
  21. Hukuna pls. I'm sorry, but I think your character may be a sue. I only read it through once so I could be wrong, but I'd like you to take a second look at it.
  22. MixZard X   Charizard (M) @ Charizardite X Trait: Blaze EVs: 252 Atk/4 SAtk/252 Spe Naive Nature (+Spe, -SDef) -Outrage -Earthquake -Fire Blast -Dragon Dance   This set aims to do something a little different. Coming off of CharizardX's base 135 special attack, Fire Blast is no slouch even without investment. Fire Blast is used predominately as coverage against Steel-types such as Scizor and Ferrothorn. Using it over Flare Blitz allows Charizard to mitigate the recoil damage it would usually be taking from Flare Blitz, which is a significant factor when you're taking 25% or more from entry hazards. Additionally, it hits things that are very physically bulky (such as Ferrothorn) very hard. Just a different take on an old set.
