Proposition of Manaphy being moved down to OU.

Manaphy can't learn Baton Pass. Only Volbeat can pass Tail Glow. -

Can't say I agree. Base 100 across the board, only two weaknesses none of them uber, Calm Mind U-Turn Acid Armor HYDRATION TAIL GLOW SCALD ENERGY BALL OMG!!!!!!! Yeah, we really don't need to move this anywhere. -
Tallied up totals from all the logs that I saved. The opponent that I do best against is crep (I win 75% of the time) and the person that I win the least against is Kirito (Slightly less than 10% of the time).

FC: 4511-0701-9758 MK7: Ryan That's all the games I have for now but more will probably come along eventually. I have separate codes for Pokemon Black, Pokemon Black 2, and Mario Kart DS.

Does Baton Pass pass a curse, too? Can't remember, so I didn't include it in there.

I'd go with a Scarf on the Mamoswine then have it learn Icicle Crash. Attack is already high enough at 394. The Speed gain from the Scarf can then compensate. You already have two Ice Shard users (Weavile and Abomasnow) So no real need to have a boosted Ice Shard on Mamoswine when you can have an attack that is much more devastating. If you're not too fond of running Icicle Crash due to its 90 accuracy, then my recommendation would be Icicle Spear as it has perfect accuracy and with the scarf will outspeed most Pokemon anyway. Five of your Pokemon are weak to fire, with one Double weakness - that is disgustingly crippling. I, like Rupe, suggest having Leftovers Heatran somewhere in there to take the Fire attacks (the Leftovers would heal Hail damage). That and Mamoswine could really use Thick Fat. Slashing the Fire weakness anywhere you can is invaluable. Otherwise, your team will bow before fast Fire-types like Blaziken, Infernape, and Volcarona with no hope in hell of countering save through Starmie.

This is cool, but I have one maybe slightly off-topic question as this is probably the best place to ask it. How do you plan to involve evolutions for Pokemon that normally evolve via trade (Gurdurr, Electabuzz, etc)? Curious to see how that works out, either through in-game trades or some other mysterious method.

The problem is, it affected everyone. Everyone was talking about it. Hell, even my sister called her a role model after her death. Essentially, this was (in retrospect) an aggresive message against the loving public that this is not a kind of person who anyone should admire, look up to, or otherwise be tolerant of. That and what she did was so incredibly illegal that it's not funny.

About Amanda Todd... I do honestly have three words to describe her: National Fucking Disgrace Sure, she's portrayed as a sweet, little angel, but let's remember that when she was 12 years old, she was so desperate for attention that she made a blog just so she could post videos of herself masturbating and make it near-viral for pedophiles to find. Three years later, she claims she's harassed by these people, and makes a YouTube video of her depressed...only to make another video of herself masturbating and again post it for these pedophiles to get a hold of. So not only is this attention whore making everyone's life around her miserable, it's fuel for the perverts' fire. And then she kills herself. Through the perspective of my friends and I, it's the best and worst thing that could happen at the same time; there was no more of this to put up with, but people had such an inaccurate perspective that I would compare this to Kony slacktivism in terms of being among one of the worst things to ever happen to the internet society. Where were you when people around the world were paying respects for this Amanda Todd? I, funny enough, was at the school library, with a friend texting me why I wasn't at the school's service which they were holding for Amanda Todd. 15 minutes after she calls me from outside the service, forcing me to justify my opinion, she arrives, asking me whether going to this really makes a difference. "It does," I said to her in a voice that showed I was ashamed of society. "It means more of this is bound to happen." "Yeah, you're right," she said. "I wasted a year on giving a fuck."

Ryan C here. Recently, there's been an outcry and whack of complaints about implementing Evasion Clause in the ladder. And I gotta say, all of that is quite childish. So, that said, it's time to delve into how to... Evade Evasion! Introduction Evasion, of course, goes beyond Sand Veil and Snow Cloak. The big problem is the +6 Evasion boosts that people (It's not just one person anymore) are using to gain an advantage. We'll talk about how to get around Evasion in all of its forms, including Items, Abilities, and Moves. Settle in, kids, because this is going to become part of the meta. Items (BrightPowder, Lax Incense) These items are the least of your problems, as they don't cause as much of a problem as the others. The best thing to do is prepare yourself with something like a Substitute or defensive stat-ups so you have more opportunities to strike back. Start of turn 8 Lucario used Substitute! Lucario made a substitute! The foe's Swampert used Curse! The foe's Swampert's Attack rose! The foe's Swampert's Defense rose! The foe's Swampert's Speed fell! Start of turn 9 Lucario used Ice Punch! The attack of Lucario missed! The foe's Swampert used Earthquake! It's super effective! Lucario's substitute faded! Start of turn 10 Lucario used Close Combat! A critical hit! The foe's Swampert lost 100% of its health! The foe's Swampert fainted! Lucario's Defense fell! Lucario's Sp. Def. fell! Standard Evasion Abilities (Sand Veil, Snow Cloak) These are much more common. The best way to deal with these is either with the above strategy or with moves such as Gastro Acid or Entrainment, to give it a crappy (or at least worse) Ability, such as Truant (Durant). Accumulative Evasion Abilities (Moody) If you're up against a Moody Pokemon, you don't have time to set up for a long haul. You need to hit as quick as you can as soon you see it. Then again, it doesn't quite work like Speed Boost; it works like a Toxic Orb or Flame Orb in which it goes off at the end of the turn, regardless of whether or not the enemy's been out for a full turn or not. Make sure you capitalize on the fact that this is a random stat that skyrockets, and that there's only about a 14% chance of Evasion going up. Start of turn 15 Nobunaga called Mismagius back! Nobunaga sent out Derpy! (Bibarel) Lucario used Ice Punch! It's not very effective... The foe's Derpy lost 12% of its health! Rain continues to fall. The foe's Derpy's Moody sharply raises its Sp. Def.! The foe's Derpy's Moody lowers its Defense! Start of turn 16 Lucario used Close Combat! It's super effective! The foe's Derpy hung on thanks to its Focus Band! The foe's Derpy lost 86% of its health! Lucario's Defense fell! Lucario's Sp. Def. fell! The foe's Derpy used Subsitute! The foe's Derpy hasn't enough energy left! Rain continues to fall. The foe's Derpy's Moody sharply raises its Evasion! The foe's Derpy's Moody lowers its Defense! Accumulative Evasion Moves (Double Team, Minimize, Acupressure) Like I said to Kamina, the best thing you can do with accumulative evasion is not let it happen in the first place. Easier said than done though, that's for sure. Here's the list of moves you can use to being the evasion attempts down with a thud. Foresight and Odor Sleuth: Remember that Odor Sleuth? Yeah, that Zigzagoon knew it and you thought it was useless. Turns out it's not. These moves are primarily used for the effect of being able to hit Ghosts with Normal- and Fighting-type moves, but turns out they're more useful than meets the eye. They reset the opponent's Evasion, which opens the opportunity for more attacks. What's even better is not only do they have perfect accuracy, making bringing them back down to earth easier, but if I'm correct they hit through Substitute, like Taunt. Beware, though, as Magic Bounce can reflect it back. Start of turn 21 The foe's Chandelure used Minimize! The foe's Chandelure's Evasion sharply rose! Arcanine used Odor Sleuth! The foe's Chandelure was identified! Ryan C: Uh oh. Start of turn 22 Arcanine used Close Combat! The foe's Chandelure lost 52% of its health! The foe's Chandelure fainted! Arcanine's Defense fell! Arcanine's Sp. Def. fell! Miracle Eye: Same thing as Foresight and Odor Sleuth, except now Dark-types can be hit by Psychic-type moves instead of the other. Haze: This is the big one. Eliminates everyone's stat changes, both positive and negative. Best thing is that there's no stopping it, not even with Substitute or Magic Bounce as it affects everyone. It can really help stop a big build-up and can turn the battle in your favor so long as you can throw a haymaker back the other way. Crep's Drifblim used Minimize! Crep's Drifblim's Evasion sharply rose! [AO]Berserker's Milotic used Haze! All stat changes were eliminated! Start of turn 16 Crep's Drifblim used Baton Pass! Crep called Drifblim back! Crep sent out Zapdos! [AO]Berserker's Milotic used Ice Beam! It's super effective! Crep's Zapdos hung on using its Focus Sash! Crep's Zapdos lost 99% of its health! Late additions, courtesy of friends Curse (Zen/Dodrio, Amethyst, Ikaru) Curse is a weird move. But it's the unsung hero that everyone seems to forget. Curse goes through Taunt, goes through Magic Bounce, hits Normal-types, has perfect accuracy AND gets carried on by Baton Pass. The only problem is that it doesn't work fast enough to get a foolproof KO on certain teams. It hurts, though. Start of turn 2 The foe's Blaziken used Double Team! The foe's Blaziken's Evasion rose! Dusclops used Curse! Dusclops cut its own HP and laid a curse on the foe's Blaziken! The foe's Blaziken's Speed Boost increases its Speed! The foe's Blaziken's Speed rose! The foe's Blaziken is afflicted by the curse! Start of turn 3 The foe's Blaziken used Baton Pass! Wizard Howl called Blaziken back! Wizard Howl sent out Vaporeon! Dusclops used Pain Split! The battlers shared their pain! The foe's Vaporeon is afflicted by the curse! Wizard Howl: oh Wizard Howl: didn't know it did that No Guard (Zen) No Guard is a cool strat to use. The ability to have all attacks hit is amazing against evaders, and can quite easily punish those who have yet to set up defenses. Start of turn 11 The foe's Chandelure used Minimize! The foe's Chandelure's Evasion sharply rose! Machamp used Stone Edge! It's super effective! Ryan C: Yeah...no. The foe's Chandelure lost 100% of its health! The foe's Chandelure fainted! Lock-On / Mind Reader (Zen) I'm surprised we all overlooked this one. Since it affects the user rather than the opponent, it's not affected by the opponent. That's awesome. It might mean Articuno gets some use. MIGHT... Start of turn 7 Ryan C's Starmie used Minimize! The foe's Starmie's Evasion sharply rose! Reborn's Dodrio's Articuno used Mind Reader! Reborn's Dodrio's Articuno took aim at Ryan C's Starmie! Ryan C: Ah...shit. Start of turn 8 Ryan C's Starmie used Thunderbolt! It's super effective! Reborn's Dodrio's Articuno lost 67% of its health! Reborn's Dodrio's Articuno used Sheer Cold! Ryan C's Starmie lost 90% of its health! Ryan C's Starmie fainted! It's a one-hit KO! Perish Song (Some curious experiments) Perish Song is another thing that ignores Evasion, Substitute, Magic Bounce, blah blah blah. It basically means that they "Surrender now, or prepare to fight, fight, fight! "Meowth, that's right!" Okay, it wouldn't be much of a fight but whatever. It does, however, get blocked by Soundproof, so just be aware of that. Start of turn 31 Murkrow used Perish Song! All Pokemon hearing this song will faint in three turns! The foe's Drifblim used Clear Smog! Murkrow lost 6% of its health! Murkrow's stat changes were elminated! Murkrow's perish count fell to 3. The foe's Drifblim's perish count fell to 3. [PCS] Valin Testing: yeah you're done ryan Ryan C: I'm not. [PCS] Valin Testing: ? Start of turn 32 Ryan C called Murkrow back! Ryan C sent out Mismagius! The foe's Drifblim used Baton Pass! Crep called Drifblim back! Crep sent out Espeon! The foe's Espeon's perish count fell to 2. Start of turn 33 Mismagius used Nasty Plot! Mismagius's Sp. Atk. harshly rose! [PCS] Valin Testing: oh The foe's Espeon used Baton Pass! crep forfeited against Ryan C! Clear Smog (Yours Truly) So apparently, everyone either missed Clear Smog or passed it off as ineffective against evasion due to it being an attack move and, as such, people accordingly thinking it had accuracy. This, people, is where you happen to be wrong, as I have just found out now. Clear Smog has perfect accuracy, it isn't stopped by Taunt, and it isn't bounced back by Magic Bounce. Be careful, however, as Steel-types like Scizor are immune to that move. That and Substitute stops the stat elimination, similar to how it stops the phazing effect of Dragon Tail or Circle Throw. Start of turn 21 The foe's Smeargle used Baton Pass! Harikuna called Smeargle back! Harikuna sent out Vaporeon! Amoonguss used Clear Smog! The foe's Vaporeon lost 4% of its health! The foe's Vaporeon's stat changes were elminated! Ryan C: ... Harikuna forfeited against [星] Shanco! The window was disabled due to one of the players closing the battle window. If you guys have any other bright ideas, post them below. My mind is pretty shallow. Reborn's game is made into what it is through this stuff. It's not going anywhere, so hopefully you can adapt. How did you beat Koga's Muk, after all?

To Explosms: I did. But that's boring. I was looking to choose a different song, and Black Day in July came to mind due to how much I listened to Gordon Lightfoot (Canadian folk-rock artist) when I was younger. To Summer: It's a counter-weather team for sure. Also Luxray is blue, so I couldn't use that.

Back on track here. Anyway, the auth aren't about to do anything about it, especially mixing Pokemon like Excadrill and Garchomp in with guys like Shaymin-S. Those guys are way more broken, and we don't need standard Pokemon meshing with legendaries, as the tiers the way they stand now are what make Reborn what it is, and thus do not warrant overhaul. Besides, this would be baffling for newcomers. If we're going to make a new tier, we might as well make it towards the lower tiers (like something between UU and LU).
-
Mew, Mienshao, and Raikou can also learn Aura Sphere, with special attack stats of 100, 95, and 115 respectively. Raikou, though, can't have both it and Volt Absorb.
-
The best thing to do is not let it happen in the first place. Adapt and conquer. It's the same guy every time, right? I learned that Weavile and Scrafty counter every Minimize user going save Muk and Qwilfish, who never show up in OU anyway save Monotype teams. In the spoiler below is the list of Pokemon that are capable of using Minimize: NOTE: On a side note, Weavile counters that guy's entire team.
-
Yeah, this is kind of a shaky topic, it seems. As it stands, there's no way evasion clause is going to be implemented on the ladder, mainly because no such clause exists, but for other reasons as well. So...the meta is not going to change.

Ryan C here. Finally time for team #7! This song is another one of my favorites by the legendary Gordon Lightfoot, about the Detroit riots of 1967 whose violence spilled over the US-Canada border into Windsor. It's an interesting song. Give it a listen while I exhibit my new monocolor. (M) @ Leftovers Trait: Pressure EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spd Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk) - Ice Punch - Night Slash - Brick Break - Swords Dance Attacker lead. If you know me well, you know that if I'm not running a weather team then I favor boosting leads which can scare away the opponent. Weavile is one such lead. Ice Punch is STAB and takes out flying Pokemon, although it's not the most desirable lead attack due to Politoed and Ninetales both resisting Ice. Night Slash...now that's more like it. It's not as powerful as Ice Punch, but it's more useful against other leads, and it has a high crit-hit. Brick Break is a coverage move that takes out many things which neither STAB can. Swords Dance boosts the power of those moves so I can focus the item choice to resist Sandstorm damage. (F) @ Charti Berry Trait: Shadow Tag EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd Timid Nature (+Spd, -SAtk) - Substitute - Pain Split - Shadow Ball - Flamethrower Trapper. This ghost likes to use a combination of moves to destroy opponents with its nearly unresisted STAB coverage (only Heatran, Hydreigon and Tyranitar resist Ghost-Fire) in combo with its high Special Attack. The trick is to throw it in against something that can't hit it well, then work behind a Substitute. As with most Ghosts, Pain Split is its source of recovery and gives it a fighting chance against something like Chansey. Shadow Ball will most likely be its main source of offense, in tandem with Flamethrower (Smogon recommended Fire Blast, but it's too unreliable in my opinion). The Charti Berry reduces the chances of Chandelure falling to a Rock-type attack. This allows it to contine trapping the opponent who would be under the effect of Murkrow's Perish Song. @ Leftovers Trait: Levitate EVs: 252 HP / 60 Def / 156 SAtk / 40 SDef Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk) - Earth Power - Rapid Spin - Cosmic Power - Ice Beam Defensive spinner. When the tier changes rolled around, I found it hard to believe that Claydol was overlooked. It's very bulky. Sure, it has six weaknesses, but let's remember that while Claydol is in LU, Celebi is getting pounded around with its seven weaknesses, including one double (to bug), up in BL. Earth Power will be its main attack, but the main reason for using it will be Rapid Spin, as through its ability Levitate, Claydol will be immune to Spikes and Toxic Spikes while taking less than 10% damage from Stealth Rock. If Claydol's survival will change the battle, it will be time to use Cosmic Power and have it settle in for a grind. And finally, Ice Beam is its other move to discourage Skarmory from coming back for more. (F) @ Leftovers Trait: Synchronize EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SDef Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk) - Curse - Wish - Heal Bell - Payback Cursing support. If you can't tell that I'm a big fan of the Leftovers item, I am. Payback is the move that capitalizes on bad speed, which will get worse when Curse kicks in. Wish could be to heal Umbreon, it might also be for somebody else, perhaps Chandelure. Heal Bell clears the entire team of status, but if nobody else is asleep then that allows Breloom to beat up on it unless I can throw Chandelure or Zebstrika in the way. (M) @ Eviolite Trait: Prankster EVs: 248 HP / 8 Def / 252 SDef Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk) - Mean Look - Perish Song - Roost - Substitute Stallbreaker and otherwise annoying Pokemon. This Pokemon takes a different path down the SubRoost road. Mean Look prevents the enemy from going anywhere, which then allows for Perish Song to be used and...bwahahahahaha. Roost is its source of recovery, and Substitute prevents a real slobberknocker from taking out Murkrow before it can lay down Perish Song. (F) @ Choice Band Trait: Sap Sipper EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spd Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk) - Wild Charge - Flame Charge - Double Kick - Return Choice attacker. Working with the black monocolor really limited my choice of Pokemon, and as for a Choice user, it was Zebstrika or something much less desirable. I also didn't want a defensive Pokemon like Dusclops as I was lacking an offensive core that drives all of my teams. Wild Charge...it hurts quite a bit. Flame Charge is not STAB, but it's a nice move, and I didn't have too many options. Double Kick breaks Sturdy and Focus Sash users like Carracosta, Aggron and others that may show up in OU. Return is a nice coverage move that hits most types that aren't ready for it. Import this team. You might like it. First 5 battles: 1. 4-0 win vs. [ironfist]Hitomaru. 2. 6-0 loss vs. [AO]Mcheezburger. 3. 5-0 win vs. [CP]Red87. 4. 3-0 loss vs. Layug. 5. 6-0 win vs. crep (won by forfeit). Have at it! Next time on the monocolor series, it's as bland as it gets!
