  1. I've decided to have some fun... And did a monotype team for Gen 8 National Dex OU on Showdown.

For now, I can proudly say that I have an 9-1 record, with 7 first fights won.

For the record, I do count fortifying as lost (both in opponent's, and mine, case). But all those surrendering came because of a domination, and they quit.

    What monotype, you ask...?

    Try to guess.

It's the Water-type because of the whole Swim-Swift and Rain Dish tactic?

      Yes. It's MonoWater; Rain team

      I'm Savage 2.0!

I just hope no one brings a Shedninja to the roster...

  2. Sometimes, I am actually terrified of what my brain is capable of.

While creating some plot for my fanmade game, there is one specific, old dialogue that now has gotten my attention. Especially, this part:

    Quote

(...) But then... everything changed 30 years ago. More specifically, during the day of the the fifteen anniversary of my Championship reign.

A mysterious event occurred in the neighboring region, west of Sacroc. At the time, no one was certain who, or what, had been responsible... yet the damage was truly terryfing, with the region being split into four. The causalities also were massive, both in infrastructure... and in humans...

...oh, forgive me <player> - recalling those memories are gruesome... in fact, one of my closer friends was one of the victims of it, as she had tried to-... No, she wouldn't accept me...

    (...)

    {the moment when he tries to control himself}

    (...)

Believe it or not, <player>, the catastrophe was about to strike this region too. Fortunately, it has stopped before going deeper into land, with it only managing to grasp the western coast, tearing over the absorbed piece of land between Grand Strait and Viadra River, creating currently known Viadra Strait. People and Pokemon of Sacroc Region were thanking Gods for their assistance and protection... the same couldn't be said about our friends.

Of course, we did our best to assist them in regaining the region... But as of right now, it still is separated. We were doing our best, but it wasn't enough. Which, if we think about it <player>, is the perfect analogy of my entire reign.

They have worked around it, however, and despite region still being in four, it is more united than it has ever been. Yet, the events of it are still engraved into minds of both regions, which are currently known as "The Great Calamity".

    (...) {and then he talks about times after his retirement from Champion spot}

I bet some of you know where this is going, but step by step. The man talking in here is Vultus - in-game, he's Supervisor of Sacroc Pokemon League, advisor of Prince (that is title, not name), and former Sacroc Grand Champion, having perhaps one of the longest reigns of all Grand Champions in the known Pokemon world (both canon and fanmade), reigning for 40 years before ultimately retiring, 5 years before the events of "Pokemon Heaven and Hell" {he's in game 89 years old, btw}.

That dialogue (used in main post-game quest) was created, according to my sources, in February 2021 (or earlier, because there is written a last date of editing on it). So then I have known about Reborn... but not Rejuvenation. And, the region neighboring with Sacroc... might actually be Aevium.

According to KingInfernal's "Geography and Timeline of Reborn and Aevium (which is VERY BASED on canon data and devs' claims), Storm-9 had split Aevium into four sub-regions 40 years before events of Rejuvenation. Now, ✨math lesson✨

    • Rejuvenation has begun 21 years after the events in Kanto Region.
    • Which means Storm-9 (also known as "The Calamity") happened 18 years before Kanto (and not 19 years, because @KingInfernal has counted Kanto events as "Year 0", then has forgotten about it in the calculations)
    • Vultus claimed that "The Great Calamity" had happened 30 years before the events, so events of "Heaven and Hell", on this timeline, happened on Year 12/13, after Alola events.
      • It is said that events of Sacroc Region began shortly after Pokemon World Championship, during Oscar (one of the major NPCs) had participated. And PWC happened shortly after Galarian Star Tournament (in that universe). Unfortunately, neither Infernal nor myself can put SwSh on the timeline due to lack of legacy characters and no seemingly connections to other regions. So, this actually is on our benefit, not having to bother with another layer of complications
      • That connects with my fanfic (which isn't canon to either Sacroc nor Reborn games), where Oscar is said to have arrived to Reborn around half a year after Sacroc protagonist has become new Champion, and since Reborn is said to happen around Year 13/14 (that calculating mistake surely mixes things up), that matches up... almost perfectly

    Not enough?

Vultus had admitted to lost dear friend, who has apparently "sacrificed herself to "minimize the casualties" "... Whatever was that supposed to mean... And also she seemingly wouldn't accept him lamenting over her.

While there's nowhere written more about her, I assume that could be Vivian, which did sacrifice herself to stop Storm-9. She would be around 67-69 if she was living in Rejuvenation. So there's a gap... LARGE age gap... But that wouldn't stop them from being friends - two kind, passionate, never-lying spirits associating with nature.

That ain't much, BUT... there's more - perhaps the strongest potential connection.

Aevium is said to be (somewhat) bordering with Kalos, and be approximately close to Galar. Also, split into 4 parts. Since Kalos is France, and Galar is United Kingdom, then Aevium could be... Germany

Germany is bordering with France, quite close to UK, and the four pieces could symbolize events of May 1945, where III Reich was split into four spheres of influence: French, British, American, and Soviet. And it had taken 44 years to reunite completely. Still, in 1985 (40 years after), both Western and Eastern Germany were quite close to each other, just like Aevian sub-regions.

And if we use real-life geography to locate Pokemon regions, then if Aevium is Germany (approximately; in terms of location), then... Aevium and Sacroc are neighboring - Sacroc is based on Poland, and it's western neighbor IS Germany. Meaning "The Great Calamity" Vultus was talking about, was Aevium's Storm-9.

So that can wrap things up.

I still cannot get over the fact I have created this, and... it somehow connects almost perfectly, despite not knowing anything about Rejuvenation or Aevium or... anything.

That really freaked me out during discovering - just like when I realized I can see future while sleeping. Like... The exact events from future appear in my dreams, and I keep having that "deja-vu" from time to time.

Also, just reread you're story aboive and... If Aevium is Germany, near Kalos and Galar, that would mean whatever Gen 9's region name is would also be close to it.

Unneeded thing: Elgor is based of North America. Unnecessary knowledge you now have.

A few things about where I would say the Masters' Tournament would fall in line with the time line:

After the events (Plus Postgame) of Pokemon Refraction, and that falls into line 14 years after the events of Pokemon Reborn (Ep. 19 included). The Masters' Tournament takes place a year after that, sooo...

Someone help me figure this out.

    3. Oscarus

Masters' Tournament would be somewhere in Year 28/29, after Rejuvenation, but before Xenoverse

  3. Spoiler

So... Do you want to say... that we-, I-... can be friends with Lin... for real...?

    Spoiler

    OH! HELL! YEAH!

I have been saying that it'd be interesting if the "real Lin" was actually controlled or something like that by Giratina or other (unholy) being, and she was actually delicate, kind and cute. And that I'd love to be friends with her

While the part about "controlling" was wrong... after we save her (only in Lin Route, unfortunately), she slowly becomes to what I've imagined her to be, and we can be friend.

I wonder if we can battle side-by-side or against each other for fun...

    Spoiler

And I want to present her to remaining Meteors to say: "Now, guys, allow me to introduce to you... your almighty leader, Lin".

I can only imagine their reactions; that they've been ruled by some goddamn orphan, which is younger than the youngest member of Reborn Pokemon League

@Q-Jei I believed that the Child Lin (Lindsey) was actually a Red Herring to me and that it was just pure coincidence. Guess I was wrong.

Also I fully agree with you about Charlotte. That damm bastard ruined their lives, but I'm glad that he got what he deserved. Finally!

After watching some cutscenes and read the dialouges, I noticed that Saphira had it MUCH worse than Charlotte. After going through hellish years in the Orphanage and failed to claim guardianship for her sisters back then. I think she eventually broke down, believing that she failed as their protector and sister.

With nobody help them, when their parents died😭😢

Me and Lin shall be besties for life, despite the age gap

  4. Gen 9 is being introduced: Pokemon Scarlet/Violet - we're returning to naming after colors, huh? And honestly, I wonder in what kind of direction will it be taken?

Apparently, basing on architecture and names of known Pokemon, it's gonna be based on Spain and/or Portugal.

Also... I ADORE the grass starter (Sprigatito), and the others are, ummmm, ok. And the game itself looks decently - but I mostly care about storyline, because the Sw/Sh one sucked, despite one of the best bunch of characters in all mainline regions.

We only have to wait until December, most likely, to see how are the games gonna roll.

Plus, I don't know why, but I imagine Amethyst banging her head against the wall with other devs watching, because she knows there's a chance that after a year, fandom will ask "Gen 9 in Reborn when?", when Gen 8 isn't even certain to be included.

    3. Oscarus

      Oscarus

By that I mean that... I have almost no ideas for towns, cities, and other landmarks. As of right now, only few names and concepts (like an ancient, mostly underground temple built by first people who arrived to Sacroc, where that is the only place to encounter Sacronian Beldum's line in the wild).

Weird, because I even have a shape of a map of the region.

    4. Dark Legend

      Dark Legend

Yeah, I tried to get that out of the way pretty early on. I started the whole game with gym teams and went from there, which is NOT smart. But it worked out.

  5. Curse my talentless arse!

I have so many wonderful ideas to create and share with you (with the most realistic being pictures/art), but I can't... as I possess no drawing talent. None at all.

I've been trying to draw and paint for years, but it was all worthless - waste of pencil, crayons, paper and time. And in my head it looks so wonderful - at least for me.

You have no idea how I envy you, and your arts of any sorts - they're so beautiful; you're so talented... I wish I could do it too, but I simply suck at it, no matter how much training I was doing.

Honestly, I wish I could generate pictures by just imagining them, and share here, so I could at least "be" an "artist".

Actually... If I could do that, then forget about pictures - I could create an entire anime! With more accurate descriptions of places, characters and places full of life, emotional moments and openings/endings!

But... you should do voice acting and OST by themselves; I cannot create voice head canons in my head; it all sounds awkward.

...why am I writing this anyways...? Hell if I know. I just feel useless by being surrounded by lots of talented ladies and gentlemen like yourselves.

      I do. Thank you.

  6. I'm so ashamed of not realizing that up until now!

Gen 9 will introduce the first region with TWO primary professors. Of course, there were regions with more professors (Unova had Aurea, Cedric and Fennel; Alola had Kukui, Burnet and Samson; and Galar had Magnolia, Sonia and Hop {to some degree}). But only 1 of them was the main one, while the new one will have two.

We don't know if they will be version-exclusive or be in the same game but one of them is going to be our mentor and the other not, but we know that their names are Sada and Turo.

And only now have I realized that their names come from Spanish words "pasada" and "futuro", which mean "past" and "future" respectively, with the first one being used in "feminine" form and the other in "masculine", since in Spanish nouns (and adjectives) have two forms, if they can refer to either masculine or feminine objects. And that matches well since Sada is a beautiful, wild female, and Turo is a hot, chad man.

Still... I feel stupid for not realizing that despite being learnt Spanish for 6 whole years!

  7. I've never noticed it before... but seeing how Tyranitar can be dangerous on Glitch Field, it truly comes as a surprise how versatile this Pokemon is.

Why, you ask? Because I have just recently realized, while playing some competitive, how Tyranitar's special bulk might come onto play. But step by step:

    • Tyranitar has 100 Base Special Defense, which equals to a maximum of 328.
    • Thanks to Sand Stream, its' Special Defense is increased by 50%, as a nature of being a Rock type
    • Assault Vest also increases Special Defense by 50%, but wearer can use attacks (which isn't a issue in Tyranitar's case as it don't have any reliable status move that increases Special Defense or such)
    • That makes its' Special Defense (and therefore a Special Attack as well) an astounding 738! For comparison, Mega Mewtwo Y's Special Attack caps at 535, barring any stat changes.
    • Tyranitar also has powerful Special movepool with:
      • Flamethrower/Fire Blast
      • Thunderbolt/Thunder
      • Ice Beam/Blizzard
      • Dragon Claw/Outrage (which are Special on Glitch Field)
      • Surf

Honestly, I've gotta check and try if my theory is true. If yes, then I'm much better battle-designer than I thought I was

    3. Oscarus

      Oscarus

      N-no... I don't think so.

On Glitch Field, Steel, Dark and Fairy attacks deal Normal-type damage, but they don't become Normal-type, so they aren't affected by "-ate" and "-ize" Abilities except Normalize

    4. OmegaSolare

      OmegaSolare

Thanks for reminding me about that.

  8. Apparently, history changes also.

And... Ay, it is one hell of a change.

From what I've seen, simply adding Ace to the story isn't the only change, nor is it the most massive one. Reborn has experienced colossal story overhaul. Like-... Lin appearing MUCH EARLIER than usual, a few key dialogue being changed, also characters changing sometimes drastically (we literally see Cal still being a hot-head asshole, and somehow I doubt that just "few days" in Apophyll would change him that much; unless Kiki also uses electroshock therapy... but then his hair should me more spiky, hm~)

I've gotta create a new save file and try the new story, as this seems awesome.

But... Yeah, I will need to revision my fanfiction yet again, shit...

Perhaps I can connect old and new versions with my antics to create wholy unique storyline - as I really need to stride from key-writing. Story might seem stale overall

In fact, my plans for Rejuvenation fanfic have the story be COMPLETELY changed - only the course of major events is the same, and what happens in-between is... you'll see... someday...

It really is. To create characters, Pokemon, storyline, everything...

Unfortunately, I do have trouble with the "Pokemon", as while creating humans and very humanoid is no hard challenge, creating other creatures is. For me, personally. Maybe a lack of experience, maybe no inspirations (I do have some, but not many)...

  10. My Trick Room team has currently 8-1 record in Gen 7 competitive Doubles meta game on Pokemon Showdown - winning the first 6 matches.

Not even Taunt can do much - even without Trick Room, Dusclops and Porygon2 are too much for opponents to handle at ease. Intimidate users are a fodder to Milotic. Stakataka and Tyranitar can tank even x4 hits, then obliterate with boosted Rock Slides. And Mega Camerupt WILL destroy you if you don't destroy it.

Team is... almost perfect - it does have some holes, but as of right now, I don't see much need of correcting those, as the ways to heavy-counter them are quite 'niche'

      Spoiler

Actually, in the anime, during his battle with Leon, he was presented as "Lance of the Elite Four", signifying he had lost the position.

But now I check Bulbapedia, and he apparently in the last episode was referred as "Champion of Kanto and Johto"... so you're right.

I'm not watching anime regularly, and spoilers on YT and other sources are so common it's nearly impossible to avoid. And my friends spoiled it to me too...

So, we have, in fact, all Grand Champions of canon regions... plus one, semi-random Trainer.

To be fair, I'm not mad.

Actually, I think that the list is perhaps the most accurate as it can be. Maybe I wanted a Frontier Brain like Anabel, Brandon or Palmer to appear, but... The list makes sense - all current and currently-known Champions are there, so it makes sense.

One could argue with the rankings within the list, but since they (probably) didn't battle each other (expect some matches in the past, like Alain vs Diantha, Ash vs Leon, Ash vs Iris and Leon vs Lance), the more they battled, the higher they are.

    3. OmegaSolare

  12. Is using the "N-word" in writing racist when you don't have the pass?

Maybe I'll need to expand: by that I mean having some character use "n-word" to other. Theorically you're not the one to use or speak it, but you're writing it. But you're not writing it to real-life person in a real life, but have some fictional character say it to other fictional character. Is that still considered racist?

Well, if the character saying it isn't black-skinned, then that one is racist, but does that make me - the writer - racist?

    Why am I asking it...?

Maybe because I don't want to cause controversy while writing. Obviously, I haven't intended to overuse it, but I still wish to know.

    2. Amethyst

      Amethyst

Writing a character using the word isn't exactly inherently "racist", but the problem is that it is a boundary that people of color ask us, as white creators, to respect. Whether or not something is racist, I think it is responsible of us to listen to the people in the affected demographic and respect that boundary through our characters as well.

Instead, I would encourage you to think about why exactly you want a character to be saying that-- what emotional effect do you want that to have on your audience, or what do you want to be saying about the character who would use that word? Chances are, there is a way to establish those effects in another way that is both more impactful and still respects the boundaries of POC.

    3. Oscarus

      Oscarus

      Okay, okay.

I was just wondering - I know that nowadays people are... a little too sensitive, but that "sensivity" is often fake - just to have others believe that you care; while they don't.

And that anything that could be considered racist, or at the very least stereotyped,  would be met with a major backlash, mostly from Twitter stans. Why? Just because. Just to act like "guardian of purity and justice", while it is just a show to create drama.

To be honest... I don't even want to imagine how controversial the older episodes of "Tom & Jerry" would be if they were emitted nowadays - with some many stereotyping looks and behaviors that could easily offended some.

If that was the case, I'd rather not to risk - I did have some created segment about that... But while writing, I'm not sure if that's worth it

    4. Amethyst

      Amethyst

As someone also in a position of racial privilege, I understand that it is not fun to feel like you are being limited on behalf of unspoken opinions. But the reason they are unspoken is because people in marginalized groups do not always have the same comfort to speak out against privileged people when those same privileged people have, as a pattern throughout history, reacted in ways ranging from inconsiderate to genocidal. You don't have the perspective to understand the discomfort associated with trying to do that, while not knowing where on the scale that reaction is going to land. In writing these boundaries off as a fault of "Twitter stans" you are deflecting responsibility for your role in begrudging these relatively trivial boundaries, and thus contributing to the lack of trust between the POC community and white-privileged people.

But given that this has ventured from a genuine question about social graces (or lack there of) to something resembling complaint about having to abide by them, I'm going to lock this now before this escalates any further now.

  13. Honestly, I feel I shouldn't ask, but I have to.

Do you think that if I used Legendary Pokemon eligible for OU (or lower tiers) in competitive battles, would that be... "unfair"?

This may sound weird, but if we consider many Legendary are being constantly complained about, especially likes of Lando-T or Tapus, I am afraid of using them because I don't wanna be called "meta slave" nor see they saying that I've only won because of that Legend, and can't play properly. Of course, those are said by players whos team are stacked with those and Uber-worthy Pokemon.

Okay, straight to the point - I can't find a fitting Mega for my team. And I'm beginning to wonder if I should return to using Mega Tyranitar (either bulky full offense or fast Dragon Dancer), and then fill the last spot with Legendary of sorts. Or other Pokemon whos quite strong or can work well in Sandstorm, like Excadrill.

To be fair, I'm not switching out any of the previously mentioned: Skarmory, Scizor, Tyranitar, Hydreigon and Chandelure, as all of them are doing a great work, and synergize very well with each other. I simply wanna hear your opinions.

I know that there are no-Uber Legendaries

      Even those who are Untiered.

But I'm afraid of using them because I have strongly opposed Legendaries that dominated meta (like Lando-T), and was even calling others out if they had, like, 3 or more of them. And this might return to me in form of karma.

  14. I have seen on YouTube comments bringing up how remakes of Pokemon Colosseum would look like.

And they have many interesting ideas... but one guy have brought up a~ rather terryfing suggestion.

That we could face Evice, in battling rules of XD... which could Mega Evolve his Tyranitar...

I love Tyranitars, but I'm not ready for Shadow Mega Tyranitar (assuming Mega Evolving Shadow Pokemon is possible... which I think may if Pokemon will be forced into absolute obedience, and/or it actually is close to Trainer)

P.S.: Only now have I realized that Evice's ace is Tyranitar. I was so hyping up when discovering Xenoverse's Victor has Tyranitar X as his ace, that I've completely forgotten about that beast.

That, and also because Skill Swap Slaking have clouded my memories from anger and salt.

Why two of the most hated assholes from Reborn-verse games that I'd love to pummel to the ground with my bare hands appear in postgame? Can't I just... y'know... kill them?

  16. I have some dilemmas. I want to restart playing Gen 7 Doubles in online competitive... but I'm tad afraid that I can't build truly proper Trick Room team

    Spoiler

(so what I've used it to win Pokemon Reborn; that's not the same)

Could you... give your own opinions or something about it?

If there is no specific stat in IV section, that stat has automatically 31 IVs

    Dusclops (M) @ Eviolite

    Ability: Pressure

    EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD

    Calm Nature

    IVs: 0 Atk / 0 Spe

    - Trick Room

    - Will-O-Wisp

    - Night Shade

    - Bulldoze

    Camerupt (M) @ Cameruptite

    Ability: Solid Rock

    EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD

    Quiet Nature

    IVs: 30 HP / 1 Atk / 30 SpA / 1 Spe

    - Heat Wave

    - Earth Power

    - Ancient Power

    - Hidden Power [Grass]

    Stakataka @ Assault Vest

    Ability: Beast Boost

    EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD

    Lonely Nature

    IVs: 14 Def / 0 Spe

    - Gyro Ball

    - Rock Slide

    - Stomping Tantrum

    - Zen Headbutt

    Milotic (F) @ Leftovers

    Ability: Competitive

    EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD

    Quiet Nature

    IVs: 0 Atk / 0 Spe

    - Ice Beam

    - Scald

    - Dragon Pulse

    - Protect

    Porygon2 @ Eviolite

    Ability: Trace

    EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD

    Quiet Nature

    IVs: 0 Atk / 0 Spe

    - Trick Room

    - Tri Attack

    - Thunderbolt

    - Blizzard

    Tyranitar (M) @ Weakness Policy

    Ability: Sand Stream

    EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD

    Brave Nature

    IVs: 0 Spe

    - Rock Slide

    - Stomping Tantrum

    - Protect

    - Fire Punch

My usual leads are Dusclops and Tyranitar.

On round one, Tyranitar uses Protect while Dusclops sets up Trick Room (thanks to being immune to Fake Out, that makes it easier to do)

Then, usually, on 2nd turn I'd use Bulldoze to slow down Tyranitar, and activate Weakness Policy, doubling the Attack. Minimal Attack investment is necessary to minimize done damage to it. Fire Punch on Tyranitar is to ensure OHKO'ing Pokemon like Kartana, Ferrothorn and some variations of Celesteela.

But if opponent's lead Pokemon is Incineroar, they usually, after Fake Out, use Parting Shot. Then I'd swap out Tyranitar for Milotic, who with Competitive would have it's Special Attack increased by 3 stages total. Bulky and very offensive Water type would get its' job done.

Stakataka's EV/IV spread might seem a little weird, but that's because to have its' Attack higher than Defense, therefore having Beast Boost boost its' Attack, not Defense. Unchecked, it might wreck havoc.

Mega Camerupt has that specific IV set to be able to use Hidden Power Grass - for wider coverage. Alternatively, I could use moves boosting its' Special Attack like Growth. But I wanted some Grass attacks to deal with bulky and annoying Water types, who also could threaten it.

Porygon2 is another Trick Room setter, but instead of being pure Support like Dusclops, its' offensive Pokemon, with moves to spread annoying status conditions, and to deal with unexpected and overall irritating Pokémon like Celesteela. Alternatively, I could have it run Toxic, but let's see how that set works.

If you have any changes, don't be afraid - I'll take any critic.

      Some other choices might be:

      Incineroar (Totally not biased)

      Primarina

      Porygon-Z

      Dusknoir

      Metagross

      Sylveon

      Ursaring

      Guzzlord?

    4. Oscarus

      Oscarus

      Incieroar is overused

I already have Milotic, so Primarina is bit useless

Porygon-Z is useless in Trick Room

Dusknoir is bad (competitively, because it looks very good)

I was wondering, but decided against it - it is weak to common spread moves like Heat Wave, Earthquake or Brutal Swing

      Maybe~

      Nah.

I don't think it is a good choice for Doubles.

Plus I need a second Trick Room setter - and my opinions are limited. Most of them are Psychic type, and except Reuniclus and Mega Gardevoir, none of them are that good offensively.

Alternatively, if Porygon2 fails, I will replace it with even Cresselia if I have to

  17.

I have an theory... an insane theory, which doesn't have as many proofs as I'd like, but it makes sense, to some extent.

If it wasn't obvious, this theory WILL involve spoilers to V19.

    Spoiler

    What if... But what if...

The thief that murdered Taube and his wife, only to be killed by Solaris afterwards... was Sirius' father?

I don't know if you noticed, but ALL important characters in the story have some kind of sad story, event or such, that either happened before our arrival, or after it; even if it isn't as obvious as it might seem. All, but one. And that one... is Sirius.

All we know about his past is that he had murdered at least 3 high-ranked League Representatives, and destroyed lives' of at least three families (Molinar, Vanhanen, Belrose). And that he's a psychopath.

But that is still weird... everyone had something that caused them to commit sins like that; with motivations being almost as tragic as the done acts. But Sirius has none. Absolutely none... which didn't have me sleep for a few days.

But we have, except aforementioned murders and crimes, no insight on his past.

However, all events of Pokemon Reborn, from present, past and future, are connected to our set of characters; and also characters themselves also are bonded with each other. But there's one but...

We know nothing about person who at least 25 years before events of Reborn invaded the headquarters of the Order, killed their leader, leader's wife, and possibly more, and was ready to steal the keys, just to be killed by Solaris/Phoenix (Taube's son), and thrashed around for hours and hours after dying.

While I don't think it was explicitly said that it was a male, I doubt Phoenix would massacre female's dead body; he has some standards.

Now, one would say... but how does that connect Sirius and the thief?

Well, while there is no direct connection in-game (or I did ommit some details), we know something - Sirius despises Phoenix. And this is shown several times; when cyclop was offending and laughing at his leader, usually behind his back because he knew he would stand no chance in frontal battle. A few of the examples are: calling him "old fool" without hesitation, or taunting him or his son (Taka) after "Duel of the Fates" during Battle of Agate.

And it's not like Sirius simply thinks that Phoenix's goals are stupid, he outright thinks and claims that his actions and himself are foolish and old-dated, or something like that. Heck, he even enjoyed picking up his (or Taka's) eye... But this might be just some weird fetish born after he lost an eye to Corey 12 years prior.

But why would Sirius despise Solaris? Well... If my theory is true, he might want to avenge his father (or whoever that was, but must've been in close relationship; maybe uncle or grandpa). In age-time relationship, that would make sense, Sirius is 30+, and that 'tragedy' happened at least 25 years ago. So he might had heard the news (possibly even in details), and decided to avenge.

Also, the possible relationship between thief and Sirius would explain how he knew about the keys, their purpose and power. If they were just a piece of jewelry, I believe no one in their right mind would be stupid enough to break into Order's headquarters (which used to rule over Reborn Region) and steal them, even if they worth much; risk would have been too big, in my opinion.

And how would he get his hands on them? Well, by joining forces with the one that had them - the one who killed the killer. Therefore, Sirius could kill two birds with one stone - avenge the family member, and gain access to unlimited power.

Still, there are some holes. First, and most important one... What would he do with the said power? Even when Solaris dies, and Taka is punished/dead too, Sirius continues to push on, indicating that he wasn't driven by a singular purpose (which can mean that either my theory is wrong, or - unlike Saphira - he didn't plan to have spent his entire life on just trying to unleash anger on the mortal enemy). However, I don't think Sirius has EVER said anything about his motivation, or reasons, except being overall general, like "achieving New World". But I haven't played V19 version of pre-V19 events yet, so I may be wrong.

Also, a worthy thing to note: even though Sirius keeps babbling about loyalty, commitment and respect toward superiors, in fact, he's loyal to only one person: himself. He doesn't give a single fuck about his enemies, victims, allies, or even superiors; in fact, the only reason he was listening to Lin and Solaris, is because they were stronger than him, and he knew disobeying could bring him a one-way ticket to afterlife, especially in Lin's case (from what I've seen, Sirius is VERY salty about Lin going through the rankings at a speed of light, going from mere Grunt/Private to Leader in mere days {eventually weeks}, while he must have spent years to become a Commander/Admin).

But! Maybe... Maybe Sirius either agrees with Lin's goal and found a common laungage with her, or has some other ulterior motives that's equally bad for others as the New World one. I guess we'll never know, as the only one who would is dead.

Another hole, which I wouldn't exactly call hole - as that is more of an subtheory - is how long exactly Sirius was waiting for the opportunity?

Team Meteor, according to Radomus, had existed for at least 13 years (that is for the versions before 19.0.8, which changes the ages of characters and screws many things up, complicating well-known pieces of lore). And, most likely, Sirius and Radomus knew each other WHILE being in Solaris' fraction. So Sirius must had been a Meteor for 12 years, which, honestly, makes sense - he was third-in-command, before Lin skyrocketed through the ranks, making him officially fourth, but actually second (as for Lin, Phoenix and Elias, who were against her, didn't count). But... Didn't Sirius have any other chances of getting rid of Solaris in those years? Because I think there could be some. Or Solaris was actually THAT good.

Nevertheless, that could mean that Sirius was very persistent in his goals.

Like I said, I don't have many reasons and proofs to confirm my theory, but there is absolutely NONE which would contradict it. And since the ones I gave are actually logical, I think that - even if it isn't true - the theory of thief Phoenix murdered was Sirius' close relative is actually solid.

If some of the story/character designers are reading this, they may confirm/negate the theory and say the truth.

      Spoiler

I did. Because I'm not a kind of guy who spelunks every house and library in search of additional info; despite me being a lore geek.

Knowing that Sirius was hunting for the keys, he did find the owners of Ruby Ring and Sapphire Bracelets, and killed them secretly (or so he thought). I assumed he did the same to Amethyst Pendant's (Zina), as: her name was engraved on one of the tombstones in Beryl, Sirius knew Radomus personally (according to dialogue between him and Anna in Yureyu), and twins were in Orphanage, despite their father still living and being in a good mental health (as lack of the last one disqualifies from being a parent, according to laws of multiple nations; that was the argument Sigmund had against Saphira).

I thought that Sirius murdered Zina to get his hands on Pendant, but couldn't because either Radomus or Gardevoir intervered. Then-widow was mourning the one he truly loved, to the point of being depressed. Then, I assumed that Radomus gave Anna and Noel to the Orphanage willingly, afraid that his mental state would cause damage to them. He was left with his Pokemon and Gardevoir, who became his closest; that'd explain her developing feelings toward her master, to the point of obsession in fact.

Radomus eventually got over it, and decided to start a new life, and run for the position of Psychic Leader (in my fanfiction however, he already was a Psychic Leader before it - he was, in fact, one of the Ace Gym Leaders in pre-collapse era of Reborn, alongside Caroline, Amethyst and Adrienn). Still, he never forget Zina, and was still loving it, which had Gardevoir be a little salty...

And I think that's the most important - the rest know are from pre-V19 game.

About how he killed Zina exactly? How did Radomus and Gardevoir saved hed before she, you know? Maybe she died from being mortally wounded sustained by him.

With what, because I know Elena died from being poisoned and Monty and Caroline being burned alive (?) with being directly killed by Sirius inside (kinda ironic with the Fire Leader dying in fire...)

Sirius is just straight up psychopathic and a monster

    4. Oscarus

      Oscarus

      Spoiler

I don't exactly know... As I haven't planned it exactly. Maybe I subconsciously went with her being stabbed or poisoned by Seviper's Poison Fang, and Radomus with Gardevoir went in as he was about to take Amethyst Pendant.

Now we know that Zina... simply "vanished"; left Radomus so he wouldn't suffer. The reason is because she apparently could read the future, like Olympia from Kalos, and could intercept that Sirius would kill her, leaving him completely heartbroken.

      Oscarus

      Yeah... I get the reasoning...

But wasn't that supposed to be the tournament full of strongest Trainers in the world?

I get Leon is #1, I fully do...

      Spoiler

But to squash Elite Four/Champion-level Mega Evolution specialist, and then the Grand Champion, without even going all out; without Even trying...? That's bullshit. And that comes from a guy who has seen dozens of extra OP Champion+ level characters in fanmade Pokemon games.

At that rate, Ash ain't gonna have the slightest of chances. He's on the same level as the others; heck, he even fought Alain and Diantha and was close to defeating both of them - so it's safe to assume he's very close in overall strength to them.

Without plot armor or other bullshit, Leon's Charizard will have Ash's Pokemon turn into Ash.

I know that I'm "infamous" for having my OCs be incredibly OP in what they do, but... at least they have some other negative traits - mainly mental - that balance things out.

But Leon in the anime... The only, ONLY, not-positive trait he possesses is panting with directions. He might be even more broken than Tobias back in the Sinnoh saga; yet Tobias was justified as he was having Legendary Pokemon at his disposal, and was facing Trainers which the strongest of them were on a level of Gym Leaders. Plus, he even couldn't defeat Cynthia.

Well... Let's see at least if Ash vs Cynthia will live up to its' name and rank of a "dream match"

    3. Oscarus

      Oscarus

Actually, Sol, I did notice something pelicular about Leon's style.

In (almost) all of his matches which aren't 1vs1 or other battles where Leon can use more than one Pokemon, there's a ongoing scheme: Leon's lead Pokemon faints first, then he basically dominates the rest of his team - very often with one, single Pokemon; but he may occasionally use more.

      Spoiler

Which makes sense; Dragapult is defeated by (I assume) Hawlucha, then Rillaboom KO's them and all but one of Diantha's Pokemon.

That strategy reminds me of Masquerade from the first season of Bakugan; mainly after heroes defeated the alliance of World's Greatests (highest ranked Bakugan fighters in the world - #10 and from #5 to #2; Masquerade was #1).

He let the opponent easily defeat his first Bakugan, then defeat all three of opponent in rapid succession (usually using his 'ace', Hydranoid).

The difference? We know both the reasons and source of Masquerade's might, but Leon... we don't have any backstory of his,  other than he was growing up in Postwick, he was rivaling with Raihan and Sonia, he's a battling prodigy (just because), his overall knowledge outside of battles is limited (according to Opal) and was the youngest Grand Champion of Galar and one of the youngest in the world, becoming one at the age of 10...   But why and how did he become such great Trainer? What motivations, other than "making Galar great again", does he have? The facts are so limited, no wonder fans are furious over his domination in the PCS - he's like Tobias, but without Legendaries.

While at first, while I was presenting my Pokemon OC to the masses, there were some critiques of him being way too strong (in fact, he's in lore even stronger than Leon, defeating him one time in 1vs1 match), but at least he has both backstory and motivations to be strong, plus his talent is justified by his lineage. Leon doesn't have any of those - he's just a overly competent Trainer.

Which usually isn't too bad... But in this case, and THESE results, they sure are.

    4. OmegaSolare

      Spoiler

Leon trained his team not only physically, but competitively.

  19. There's a lotta of opinions about newest Paldean Gym Leader - Iono.

Barring fanbase's whining and lamenting about character, design, personality and voice acting (which, in my opinion, are awesome... or at the very least unique; like c'mon - Gym Leader who's a influencer/V-Tuber? I don't believe that even in fanmade games I found such a combination), the main 'problem' (or should I say 'conundrum') is her... real identity

According to available news, Iono is a character/personality of sorts; a fake persona in fact, just like most (if not all) VTubers have. I don't know if she's just a cyber creation, or also the one with the role poses as her in real life (especially during Gym Battles), but for sure that look and personality isn't the true one, because:

    1. As I said, many/all VTubers and influencers of similar functioning have their public character changed, differing from their real one, more or less
    2. Iono's German and Spanish names, Enigmara and E-Nigma come from "enigma", meaning "unknown". And her Italian name, "Kissana" comes from  "Chi sarà?" - "Who will it be?". That signifies that no one knows truth about her, at least in the public sphere of things.

The question is... Who IS Iono actually? Who's hiding behind the mask/image of the most electryfing star of Paldean pop-culture?

And, a very popular theory says that Iono is actually... Penny. Yes, you heard me right, the 3rd, shy and timid "rival", being one of the most extravagant and flashy Gym Leaders in the entire Europe? I'd lose my shit if that turned out to be true. But, still, that would be one hell of a plot twist, and a very positive one, because the last mega plot twist GameFreak gave us was a bit... heart-breaking, not gonna lie...

At first I thought since Nemona would lead us through Paldea League, and Arven would "hire" us to help him gather Herba Mystica, Penny would be a key character in hunting down Team Star... only to be revealed as one of the Admins, if not The Head Boss of all fractions. And now... I don't know which would be more sick from story-telling point, but I sure know that I'd rather be proud of her... rather than feeling the urge to break her back in three pieces.

But that'd mean that our passionate chef Arven would be the only "rival" to not have any plot twist/sudden reveal to his character:

    • Penny being the one behind the persona of Electric Leader Iono (or Team Star's Head Boss)
    • Nemona rumored to be one of Paldea League's Champions
    • Arven... has nothing

I, honestly, don't want him to have some super mind-breaking twist (like... using the power of Herba Mystica to turn his Pokemon into Titans and, by controlling them, conquer Paldea Region, and then the entire world), but something as impactful, but without breaking immensions. Maybe have some other important character, like some truly competent Trainer, be revealed as his relative, and then reveal that his lack of talent in battling has caused them/his family to reject him, so he decided to use his cooking skills, and gathered Herba Mystica, to show his value as a human being.

Why do I say it...? Maybe 'cause I love theorizing, and story creation? And I wanna talk about it? So... @SolareInferno, @Evi Crystal, @Q-Jei, anyone?

    Anything? Any ideas?

  20. Sorry I'm bothering, but I want to ask the question.

While creating the update to Ame's "semi-canon" team, should I:

    • limit myself to Pokémon available only in Reborn (canon Pokémon from Gens 1-7)
    • use some Pokemon from Gen 8 (new ones and Galarian forms) and Aevian Forms from Rejuvenation (because Reborn and Aevium are, sorta, connected to each other)

Please, be honest with me - say what you think, not what I want to hear.

    1. Dark Legend

      Dark Legend

I think should limit to only Reborn. Maybe, if, Ame was in Rejuvenation, then you could use Aevian forms

    2. Aphelli

      Aphelli

Honestly? I think you’re overthinking this. But it certainly also depends on what you’re trying to do. Is it more of an Ame-themed team, or something that in game would be a good Champion team?

I believe the latter requires to stick to Reborn availabilities (absent any compelling reasons). But if you lean towards the former, I wouldn’t be shocked if Ame had a Galar Pokemon or an Aevian form – within reason: she’s not Aevian or Galarian (unless you want to make her so), but she’s a traveller (as suggested by the first game scene).

PS: you said you were writing fanfiction. Could you give me the link, please?

    3. Oscarus

      Oscarus

      About fanfic...

I'm repairing it, as there were quite a few holes (literally) and I think not so much emotions in dialogues, and the aesthetical descriptions sucked; I'm not an English native speaker so my vocabulary is limited

Of course, over the time, the writing style was better, but wanted to refresh everything.

Fortunately, I have finished the first semester in "undergraduate education" already, so I have 3 weeks of free time, and I'll try to repair it completely, so I can move on.

  21. All this time, I have played online Gen 7 metagame... that I forgot that none of my Pokemon was holding Z-Crystal.

To be fair, that wasn't exactly necessary, as I have... around 75% winrate, I think. Maybe closer to 80%, I wasn't counting. But I do wonder if I should use Z-Crystal. And if yes, then on whom...?

    Currently my team is:

    • Occa Berry Scizor
    • Aguav Berry Skarmory
    • Smooth Rock/Chople Berry Tyranitar
    • Choice Scarf Chandelure
    • Life Orb Hydreigon
    • rotating Mega (formerly Aerodactyl, now Steelix, with possible Manectric joining)

And if some Pokemon could have Crystal, then it's either Tyranitar or Hydreigon, in my opinion, as Skarmory won't do shit with Z-Move, Megas can't have Z-Crystals (except Rayquaza who's too broken; even for Ubers), Occa Berry saves Scizor from unexpected Hidden Power Fire (a few times it helped me win 6-0 with just Scizor), and Choice Scarf Chandelure is a beast.

Still, Tyranitar and Hydreigon are good enough with their original sets. So I wonder if it's necessary to give them Z-Crystal. And what do you guys think?

    1. OmegaSolare

      OmegaSolare

Mostly with Hydreigon because Tyranitar has Mega Evolution. But I’m afraid that Mega Rayquaza can’t use Z-Move.

    2. Oscarus

      Oscarus

Mega Tyranitar is better than regular Tyranitar on normal playthoughs, but not in competitive.

Unlike Mega Garchomp, Mega Tyranitar is strictly superior to regular Tyranitar in every way... But can't hold any items (excluding situations where Pokemon is automatically Mega Evolved or can have 2 items). Therefore regular Ttar can use different items, and it's not a weakling either - I can even send them in on supereffective, not-boosted hit (if it's not Fighting-type) and they will shrug it off.

I will try using Dragonium/Darkium Z on Hydreigon, but if it doesn't pays off, I'm switching to Life Orb

Also... I don't care much about Mega Rayquaza (and also why it is "Mega", and not "Primal" or something - because Megas are created because of bond between Pokemon and human; and can we call whatever those ancient humans had done to create "Mega Evolution" for Rayquaza a personal bond?) so... how should I know?

    3. OmegaSolare

      OmegaSolare

Then try to use Tyranitar with physical defensive strategy.

      For Hydreigon, it’s your choice.

For Mega Rayquaza, I’m just explaining things.

  22. To quote Rose from Juno Songs' cover

"It... pains me to have to do this...

But you leave me no choice"

After I fought with a Trainer who had FULL TEAM of OU Legendaries, I've legitimately ragequit after the battle (which I've barely won, with some luck and their really stupid decisions like outright using Psychic on Hydreigon), and decided: "Fine! You wanna see me using Legends! I WILL be using Legends!"

Since I've reset my old W/L record (I had a winrate of only 45%, but only because I haven't reset it earlier, because when I first played competitive, I sucked so much that my winrate was pathetically low), every Trainer had at least 2 OU Legendaries (expect one - a Trick Room specialist - who I had fought twice; once I lost with his one Pokemon standing, and the other I won with my one Pokemon standing; he was having only Cresselia).

I know that many (and myself) call this cheap and so on... but I was so livid that I've decided to do it myself. After all, two can play that game, huh?

I know that having two Pseudo-Legendaries would already put me on the aim for hate, technically using 4 Legendary Pokemon... But there's a reason why everyone are salty about Legendaries and Ultra Beasts, and not Pseudos. Moreover, after returning to competitive, my team consisted of only two true OU Pokemon - Tyranitar and Skarmory. The other three (Hydreigon, Scizor and Chandelure) are UU, while Megas were UUBL at best. So I think it's fair for me

    1. OmegaSolare

      OmegaSolare

Beware of Blaziken, if you're careful.

    2. Oscarus

      Oscarus

Funny, because Blaziken is one of the few Pokemon that were destroying me.

Because of the fact they come in on my Choice-locked Chandelure (usually after using Energy Ball, because no "fragile" Pokemon would like to run in Fire Blast, even if resisted like Greninja).

I will. This time I will as I have a solid counter (on paper)

    3. OmegaSolare

      OmegaSolare

I hope so because Blaziken isn't to be underestimated due to being ranked to Ubers and stayed like that in Gen5 to Gen7. Also, it was quickly banned in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl way too early.

  23. I have watched playthoughs of Pokemon Colosseum and XD while planing on essays... and realized something I hadn't previously (because English is not my native/first language and I'm stupid)

    Spoilers Ahead:

    Spoiler

In Colosseum, after defeating Nascour, we discover that the true leader of Team Cipher is man named Evice. But in the sequel, XD, it is revealed that the mastermind and ACTUAL leader is Greevil.

Evice is, most likely a combination of "evil" and "vice", symbolizing that he's only second-in-command at best.

Greevil however seems to be abbreviation of "greater evil", as he is the hidden, and actual, leader of Team Cipher, higher rank than Evice

Like... Whoa! Why can't they do such actions more often?!

    1. OmegaSolare

      OmegaSolare

      Greater evil or greedy evil.

    2. Oscarus

      Oscarus

      "Greedy"...?

Well... Considering he has 7 Shadow Pokemon in "one" battle, including 4 Legendaries, and also gold eyes...

      Maybe yes.

    3. Oscarus

      Oscarus

Okay, I Google-checked and his Japanese name is "Deathgold", so maybe "greedy" is a more logical choice here than "greater"

  24. With V19 starting... very soon, I think it's time for big bang preparations.

Especially for that Lin, which is actually the only battle I'm truly concerned for:

    • Saphira - it's basically Dragon Tamer vs Dragon Tamer; I am already prepared
    • PULSE Mr. Mime - I bet this is a very defensive Pokemon, so it shouldn't pose any real threat
    • PULSE Clawitzer - the reverse or Mr. Mime; a speedy glass cannon (I hope), so if I get a chance to boost, it can be defeated rather easily... assuming it doesn't get a priority move
      • I say that, assuming those are controlled by Sigmund and Sirius respectively; which I think is logical - those two are counterparts of sorts
    • Elite Four - they may pose a threat, but after reading various theories, and seeing potential teams, I might create a team for them from the Pokemon I already have (assuming we could change teams between battles; if not... I just create the most universal team I can; I'm quite good at it)

But Lin, especially Darkium Z Hydreigon and Arceus, those scare me. Especially when considering they will have PULSE2 or other cheating bullshit.

However! I do have the strategy; which involves turning the advantage of her Field... against her.

With how she likes to overpower and break through everything at ease, she is no match for the strategic mastermind such as myself.

I will make her sweat, cry and bleed... until I hear her crumbling and begging for mercy.

    We... are in endgame.

And it's high time to put the end to her plans... and entire existence.

I will futfill Ame's last request, to make Reborn great again... by eliminating that witch once, and, for, all...

    1. OmegaSolare

      OmegaSolare

Don't underestimate PULSE Mr. Mime because of its defenses being its own speciality. Strength isn't everything.

Besides, you must set up defenses or lower PULSE Clawitzer offenses or both.

    2. Oscarus

      Oscarus

      I know. I never underestimate.

      But I do have plans.

    3. OmegaSolare

      OmegaSolare

Then I wish good luck to you.

  25. I'm baaaaack~

If there was a possibility to send it voicelines, I would sing for you. But there's none, so sorry. I cannot sing anyways.

I am proud to announce that I have completed main story of Pokemon Reborn (and just main story, I haven't touched post-game yet)

I'm actually suprised it has taken me so little time; even when I was "speedruning" (reading only story dialogues and important character's adds) - maybe because I was already prepared with everything. Or because I had quite good strategies

    Spoiler

Trick Room teams are REALLY busted

    Thanks a lot, Radomus

Anyways, I'll be sharing my thoughts about V19 with you. Oh, to say it beforehand: DON'T click "Spoiler" labels if you haven't played through the main game yet nor do you not know anything about V19 yet. Just don't complain that I haven't warned you.

Everything here is from Reshiram Route. So if you know alternative events from Zekrom Route, feel free to write it to me (just label it with "Spoiler" so others won't see those if unwanted).

    Spoiler

In one sentence... what the fuck?

It was so metal! So edgy! So... wow. But... step by step.

Beginning was... awkward. Like: Bennett, Laura and Saphira; Zero, Eve and Lumi; Cal and Victoria... We had to cooperate, though many didn't want to. Fortunately, it all went well (if I was there, I would just yell and order them to obey... if things went out of control; otherwise persuasion'd be enough)

I actually wanted ask "Why Radomus had dressed like Sir Aaron from 8th Movie?"... but it's Radomus, so questioning wouldn't make any sense.

Despite... quite long pause, for additional preparations and such, we could raid Labradorra.

And~ troubles right through the start - by Kenan, ofc. I've won first try... but with a lot of luck; it was just my Tyranitar and his Machamp... and we perfectly know how could that end. Fortunately, it didn't go for Bullet Punch, so thanks to Dragon Dances, I defeated it with Crit Earthquake.

But, in all honesty, more difficult were Double Battles... as my Trick Room strategy was more detrimental than helpful, for my allies. Fortunately, my Sandstorm team was much more helpful and cooperating with them. Still, the fact that some Grunts of all people were kicking my ass... I've had a bad feeling about this.

After backup has arrived to fight Lin, Victoria and I entered one building, and after the battle, my heart... has stopped for a second. Blood... bones... static, on a table... "pale", as I thought...

I... I have geniuenly thought that Solaris-

He had lost an eye, and might had suffered brain damage, but was seemingly all right. And I still think it was Lin to do it; or at least assist; because I question Sirius being strong enough to defeat him 1vs1 - despite what levels say; there are no levels in-universe, after all.

Good that Cal had stopped Victoria - while I do understand her wanting Solaris' head (I, once, had wanted this as well), Cal was right... doing so, Vic would be no better than the one she despises above all. And Kiki would be very disappointed as well, I assume, as I question her going the path of revenge.

Then... Sigmund hiding and running away? I was seriously thinking about what, or who, would cause him to be terrified - Saphira, Lin... or something else?

Oh, and major plus for Bennett calling Solaris "Elias' boyfriend" - one of the few moment to cause me wheeze in the middle of the night. Speaking of Elias, and his 'family'... will we get a chance to free those locked in the Void (Cain, Luna, Samson/Ciel, and more)? Because... I want to free all of them, you know. And reunite with others...

Now, quick question - are Nomos and Shade one? I mean... Like Nostra is Jirachi (which is later confirmed), is Shade's soul connected to doll? Or is Nomos their body? There is definitely a connection between the two, as we see when Nomos/Shade save us, Noel and Radomus from PULSE Clawitzer. That "bond" would explain connections between Shade and Anna.

Speaking about PULSE Clawitzer... actually, no, I'll say it in the part about Major Battles.

Also "R.I.P." for Zero. From Admin... to mere Grunt. Not Ace, not even Knight... just Grunt. That must've hurt. At least he has Lumi, and Eve.

Also, I don't know why I was laughing at Sigmund being protected by Serra and Cal while Saphira had wanted to tear his throat apart.

But that wasn't given to her because... because...

    ...

    .......

Who did that? Lin...? Or that "absolutely off the mark" PULSE Mr. Mime? And who had designed it? On what drugs had you been, devs?

True, Sigmund wasn't the nicest... But he DIDN'T deserve that! Like-... TH'FUCK?!

We have reached Edge Rising's level of edginess, ladies and gentlemen. @Evi Crystal, my condolences...

And obviously Saphira wouldn't take that message kindly.

After that... perhaps my personal favorite. ¡«T0urn@ment 0f B00t¥»!

Exciting fights, getting to know more about other characters, pure randomness, and of course Terra!

I know writing her dialogue can cause a stroke, but curse me if the effect wasn't awesome. Those random sounds, her either completely-off-the-mark or extremely-accurate description (like naming Victoria "more roadblocking than Snorlax" or while Eve declaring that there were 17 people, she said: "THERE'S 16 OF YA... cuz zero doesn't count" - that was... GODDAMMIT TERRA), the style of speech and puns of various sorts. Even roasting us to 3rd degree (my personal favorite was when she used "Google Translate-ish" voice while describing Florinia - pure GOLD).

Those were fun, but then while facing Saphira and her... rather unfair "puzzle", I could FINALLY get my final Badge.

    ...it was anticlimactic...

More on that in other post.

Then... Man, I haven't expected that rollercoaster of emotions (neither that "no fonts" battle which actually forced me to use Revives {even through I promised not to use them} because I have made some... really stupid mistakes; plus I hate Glitch Field)

Still... I wonder if what Terra has said about Florinia was another mind game... or her honest emotions.

I bet the latter, as the manner of speech was... very normal. And actually hitting Rini personally...

Were Terra and Florinia accustomed at any point? Because both are geniuses in technological advances, and it seems both knew each other, like... when Terra said "You used to laugh a lot..." or something like that...

Crap, my heart... I hope I won't experience any of those-

sees Solaris in front of Victory Road

    :|

    rly?

For a moment, hearing him, I was genuinely terrified - especially when he sent Garchomp, and his theme sounded... my PTSD activated immedia

But I quickly realized... "we" weren't the target, but Lin (who somehow was behind us). He later confirms it ("...even those within Team itself").

That was so intense, that I've actually forgotten that... well...

Anyways, I don't know why, but for a moment when we regained concussioness, I thought that Solaris had won, as there was no blood on the battlefield.

    ...but...it was...several feet away...

And Solaris... Solaris had most likely been thrown and slided his face through stone...

When I saw that Cultist with Sylveon trying to save him... f-for a moment through t-that he.... he might.......

    .....................

and i needed yet another emotional break (but i wasn't crying this time; just manly salute)

Reborn Region's Victory Road is larger that 10 year old me's stomach.

Going through it took me literal hours. But I'm not complaining: because I love that puzzles with adjusting Crystals. Since elementary school, I've loved Einstein's Riddles, so those weren't as difficult for me as for others.

The Minecarts puzzles were arduous, but doable.

Seeking Crystal Stars was definitely the hardest one - I actually had to look for solutions after I couldn't find the last 2.

And about the remaining Meteor Executives... meh.

At least Blake was funny. Asshole, but funny asshole; a type of friend many would like to have. Unlike that degenerate Fern...

DID YOU SERIOUSLY THINK THAT AFTER STEALING MY BADGES YOU WOULD JUST WALK INTO THE LEAGUE LIKE NOTHING HAPPENED?! REMINDER: BOTH ELIAS AND BENNETT ARE IN THE LEAGUE, AND THEY WOULDN'T ALLOW YOU TO PARTICIPATE, AS THEY KNOW YOU, FUCKER! ALSO WHAT YOUR PUNY GRASSY TYPES COULD DO AGAINST HEATHER, HUH?! LITTLE SPOILER - NOTHING! NOTHING, YOU'D LOSE AT THE VERY START! AS YOU ARE NOTHING BUT A SMALL, PATHETIC, STINKY! LYING, MOTHERFUCKIN' LOSER!!!

phew...i've finally gotten this off my chest

    Anyways, Elite Four...

After being dealt with the bullshit of full teams of PULSE2, I expected those battles to be a breeze. The first two, mostly yes.

But the deeper I was going, the harder it got. I've defeated all 5 of them first try (but not without some Pokemon fainting in the process)

And then... the moment of truth. I was about to avenge my fallen comrades, to protect the region and friends, to save the world... from the humanoid entity known as "Lin"...

And right off the bat she flexes on me that not only has she stolen Pokemon, but also themes; during the battle, there was Solaris' Battle Theme playing, not other but his. I get that dead don't need those... but that was too much.

The battle was... difficult - I believe all of them did have PULSE2. Me playing on Set didn't help either.

But Trick Room was the right call as EVERY Pokemon on her team was fast; so Trick Room heavily countered her. However... I quickly noticed something - that was a battle... on Neutral Field. Not the New World. Also despite being Dragon specialist, she has had 3 Psychic types and 3 Fairy types, with only 1 actual Dragon. And fandom laughs at Lance for his "Dragon speciality", smh.

Also... The fact that I was on her 5th Pokemon (in my case, that was , and I haven't seen neither Hydreigon nor Arceus was... worrying. And when I saw PULSE Abra... I IMMEDIATELY realized there will be Round 2.

And I wasn't wrong - teleported to Grand Stairway, succed into the Citadel, and forced to catch Lin, reaching the top, and enter "New World"

This battle... has given me a appreciation for Trick Room. Really - I think I'm gonna use it in competitive now instead of Sandstorm Spread combo. Which is reasonably effective, but VERY VULNERABLE to most kinds of cheesing, like Guard Split Shuckle-Chansey combo.

Because most of her Pokemon were immune to speed drop - either because they were Flying-types, or had Levitate. And those who didn't, were bulky... very bulky. And then we have that fucking Celeesteela which is both! I HATE ULTRA BEASTS!!!

Also, shoutout to whoever had created Arc-PULSE sprite and type-changing animation because it... looks... dope!

Battles was very challenging, but first try. Only because I had Trick Room, Full Restores, and sheer dumb luck with Arceus.

    And, um... Can. you...

Can someone explain the meaning of the ending? After the battle?

When I've defeated her, it was, like, 3 A.M. in Poland, so I just skimmed through, save the game and close it.

And now I can't remember what did exactly happen after the battle.

Was it true Lin to laugh at me, wanting to play and such... or someone else...?

Man, I need to remember: do not play any cryptic games during night.

If you wanna say something about it, DON'T FORGET about putting this in Spoiler part.

Because... That'd be a shame if someone had accidentally spoiled themselves something just because someone was careless, agreed?
