Jess Posted January 21, 2018 Author Share Posted January 21, 2018 CHAPTER 5: Gearen City-exploring (and stuff)! I promised this, so let's bring this back to life!!! However... Less screenshots, more talking! I'm finally not cut out to take and upload snapshots of my game (too boring), so it will be story-like! And video-like! And maybe some light photoshop too. Sooo, that being said, let's get back into it! But first, a video of how it all started, with that weird dream-vision of Marianette and that damn SS Oceana cruise! Part 1: So it begins! Spoiler First of all, after getting Jum-P, my Cyndaquil, I decided to go check on Melia, like Prof. Jenner asked me to do. But, when I went to the Train Station to Goldenwood Forest, the Station was closed due to unexplained power outages. So, without anything else to do, I decided to explore the City in search of squad members! Any rodent would do, so... Let's just say, it was a long, LOOONG walk, battling trainers and entering buildings. The first eligible pokemon I encountered, was a wild Patrat, at some small area of short grass outside some buildings... And it was not any regular Patrat... She was kinda dressed like the magician of an ancient central American tribe, which was intimidating and exciting at the same time. Aztecs or Incas would fit. She jumped on my shoulder and tried to sacrifice me! I decided that this temperament is befitting of my edgy personality, so this Dark "Lordess" (?) of Doom joined the team! Meet San-D, the Patrat! San-D, the Patrat (Female) Lax/Run Away (Item: None) Shiny: No Tackle Leer Apparently, she had snuck in SS Oceana's cargo room and managed to surf on a wild Gyarados to the shore. A wild Gyarados she tamed herself with her skull-decorated scepter. She proclaimed herself "Mistress of the Gyarados" and "Tamer of the Seas" in the first time we spoke... By the way, curious reader, yes, I know Pokemon language, what kind of a Master Breeder I would be if I couldn't communicate with my own pets/friends?! Foolish of you to even question me, heathens! I, however, was questioning San-D's ability of defeating a wild Gyarados and enslaving it... But I'd not risk upsetting her by stating my doubts. Don't want her to attempt to sacrifice me again to the ancient Gods... Ahem, that being said, I kept running around, and soon I caught a wild Yungoos and named it Akai. But then, I had a vision of it evolving into the blond, portly President of a big country and enforcing taxes on my head, before threatening to build a giant wall to separate the Aevium region in two, which was too dark even for my own personality, so I set it free. Besides, a mongoose isn't a rodent, as cheeky Jum-P, my Cyndaquil pinpointed, before he started ranting and criticizing my knowledge of rodents. Of course he didn't ask for my permission to get out of his Pokeball and play the smartass... "Back inside, Demon!" I laughed and waved to Akai as it fled into the tall grass of Gearen Park. Part 2: First team members! Spoiler The video posted above also show how I destroyed Amanda and Ren in the mandatory first rival battles with Jum-P. Anyways, after all that stuff, we kept going. I caught a quite Mild Bidoof, that seemed to be unaware of what was going on around it (and the cars in the middle of the street). It would get hurt, so I caught it and named her Sakura, which is Japanese for Cherry. I also caught a quite Lonely alternatively coloured (aka shiny) Bidoof that got really Moody when I approached it! But I thought that I'd be Moody too if I were Lonely, so I gave it the chance to hang out with Sakura! I also named her Morello, which means sour cherry, which fits her personality. Rule 1 of breeding those tiny vicious rodents. Learn and respect their personalities. Teach them to embrace them too. We all have flaws, the important thing is to understand and embrace them, cause they make us special! The problem was that Sakura and Morello were only playing. No battling. Untamable beasts. So, I caught a third Bidoof. How, you might ask... Well... Let's say I was... Thrilled by her entrance... I accidentally called her a King, so Jum-P the Cyndaquil popped out of his Pokeball to scold me again about my "limited knowledge of animals". He particularly said "How on Earth are you a breeder, I wonder...". I just called him back in his Pokeball, as Bidoof was still munching on that lamp post. It got bloated. And fell asleep in front of me. Catching it was more Simple than I thought, but I saw the prospect. I named her Kairi Hime, the Queen (or Empress) of all Beavers! (If @Dorcas aka Bibs doesn't appreciate this, I have no clue what he will) Kairi Hime, the Bidoof (Female) Impish/Simple (Item: None) Shiny: No Tackle Growl Defense Curl Then, near the Gearen Park, I witnessed a male Nidoran chasing a Yungoos, yelling "Come here! Bring me back my Oran Berry!" and repeating it to Eternity! I offered it an Oran Berry, but he was quite Adamant on getting his own Oran Berry back! So, I helped it defeat the Yun-non rodent-goos and regain its berry... He ate it with a weird smile, and got his lips all messy with Oran juice. Then, the dumb pesky thing decided to wipe its mouth. On my face. Some needles pinched me. My lips got swollen and I felt nausea. As I was taking a moment, 100% incapacitated, puking behind the nearby bench, Jum-P the Cyndaquil and San-D the Patrat broke free of their Pokeballs.... Jum-P: "Leave it to us, boss, just gimme an empty Pokeball." San-D: "HIYAAAAAAAAAAAH!" (Tackles Nidoran mightily, as Nidoran keeps laughing, wiping its venomous whiskers on San-D now) A few moments later... Gundham AND San-D (bent over bench): "BLEURGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH..." Jum-P: *Sigh* (Useless... What have I done to deserve that trainer and colleague...)... (Talking to Nidoran) "Please help me... They are quite useless, edgy and overestimating their abilities, but they're a great laugh! And Gundham cares for us. He caught 3 fucking beavers, cause he thought they all looked sad in the wild, alone..." Nidoran: "I could help. If I get an Oran Berry. For every meal of the day. Includes brunch. And get me napkins! Or get yourselves Pecha Berries, I'm cool with both!" Gundham AND San-D (bent over bench-with increased intensity): "BLEEEUUUUUUUUUUUUUUURGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH..." Jum-P: "We have a deal! Let's shake hands!" *SLAPPPPP* Gundham, San-D AND Jum-P: "BLEURGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH..." Nidoran shrugs and headbutts the empty Pokeball... Staying inside... A few moments later... *Gundham, San-D AND Jum-P have survived the poisoning! The poison faded!* Well, thanks for that guys! But keep your smufaces limited! You got poisoned too! At least we have a new team member... Now let's stock up on Oran and Pecha Berries. This thing will bring my wallet to a similar status as Greece's economy. At least, I have the feeling that I will find some other use for those Oran and Pecha Berries too... Oh, by the way, Nidoran! You shall be called Gaidoku! A name that bears many meanings in Japanese. Some of them are mischief, poison, harm and injury! You've earned it! Gaidoku, the Nidoran (Male) Adamant/Poison Point (Item: None) Shiny: No Leer Peck After healing up and continuing our stroll, we started catching Alolan Rattatas. I caught one I saw munching hungrily on a Hot-Dog under a bench. She was quite chubby and was unfazed when Jum-P used Ember on it to weaken it. But it turned to me and thanked me for baking the hot-dog a bit more, cause she likes her sausages well-done. Jum-P facepalmed himself. It was the first time I saw Jum-P getting inside his Pokeball on his own. Thankfully, with a quite loud burp, Rattata decided to join the squad. Cham-P, the Alolan Rattata (Female) Impish/Thick Fat Tackle Tail Whip Quick Attack Gundham (monologuing): "Now I have to feed a voracious Bidoof, a greedy male Nidoran and a fat Alolan-Ra-" Cham-P (screaming from inside the Pokeball): "I'M NOT FAT, I'M CHUBBY" Gundham (monologuing): "Yeah, yeah, Obelix was saying this ages before you, young one. Now relax, and I'll treat you to a Hot Dog later" Cham-P's face (after bursting out of Pokeball): In the next few minutes, I caught two more Alolan Rattatas. A scared one that was hunted by an Alolan-Meowth and hid behind me as I took care of the vicious cat. I realised that the poor lil mouse was so scared that she peed on my shoe while hiding. I named her Cham-Pee. Then, while treating her to an Oran Berry, I saw an Alolan Rattata wearing glasses and reading over a notebook on the pavement. It had differential equations and integrals. I offered to pay for his tuition when I become the champion of Aevium Region. He followed me. I named him Cham-Pi (aka Cham-Three point one four). Pity I couldn't keep Cham-Pee and Cham-Pi on me all the time, they were really Sassy! Cham-Pi was a bit short-tempered, especially when he couldn't solve his equation (or when Cham-Pee dozed off for the 10th time in the same day using his notebook as a pillow), but they were a lovely couple. They are denying their attraction though. I wonder what they'll say when I find an Egg... After all that Alolan Rattata torrent, we approached a house. Loud music was playing from inside. Of course... *Pokeball pops open-Jum-P is out* Jum-P: "FIVE FOUR THREE TWO ONE DOGARS!!!!!!!!!" Gundham: "OH MY GOD, GET BACK IN THE BALL!!!!" We hear voices, a mother and her daughter are fighting. The daughter tries to calm her mum, since "The beat is about to drop". I'm laughing mischievously, sensing the imminent disaster... Then... 3.2.1.... IGNITION!!! The purple haired girl pierces through the roof, launched by her enraged mother's might. She lands right before me. She is fatally wounded. She wants a Pecha Berry before she dies. I decide to grant her dying wish, even though my demonic red eye sees no sign of hovering entities ready to collect her soul... Girl is probably faking it... I give her the Pecha Berry... Then she asks for an Oran Berry too... Gundham: "Do you have any relation to Gaidoku, my Nidoran?" Venam: "Whaaaaaaa?" Gundham: "I'm not buying it for the second time, I've seen this exact same attitude today! Hell, if my Nidoran was female, I'd name her Venam!" Venam: "OK, OK, you got me... So, you're quite nice! And not too naive! Don't call me Veronica and we'll get along well. In fact, wanna come hang out with me and my friends at the Abandoned Sewers?" Gundham: "I don't like people. But you kinda seem different. I will come." So, we decide to follow Venam, and we meet up with her again. We also meet Ren again, common acquaintance, nice. He is edgy-enough for my tastes too. We start roaming into the Sewers, after teaming up... And soon, after a battle... Jum-P starts glowing, and he evolves into a Quilava! Jum-P, the Quilava (Male) Lax/Blaze (Item: None) Shiny: No Quick Attack Leer Smoke Screen Ember Gundham: "I am proud of you, young troublemaking demon of fire." Jum-P: "Cut the flattering bullshit, it's no big deal, I'm just gonna break out of my stupid ball easier now. And eat more!" Gundham: "I pray to all demons to help me. Or just feed one of you all." Part 3: Volume was through the roof! Spoiler And with this, it is time to conclude this chapter! We will keep this up the next time, which won't be in 5 months from now, but only in about a week! After Jum-P's evolution, and his brave declaration about how he will have a bigger appetite now, the entirety of my 'mons broke free of their Pokeballs and started shouting for food, so I had to go feed them. This meant that I had to leave Ren alone for a while and go actually do stuff. First thing I did was to visit Chrisola Hotel and get TM for Work Up. This would probably get my Pokemon even more worked up, but I taught it to them regardless. Then, I went to the rooftop in search of a Cherubi. I saw a weird guy earlier trying to trade away his Buneary for a male Cherubi. So, when I found a wild Cherubi, I caught it straight away! Thing is, it was female... So, of course he didn't accept it... RIP my time and effort... And besides all that... *Jum-P gets out of his Pokeball* Jum-P, the Quilava: *Sigh*... "You really can't tell the difference between a male and a female Pokemon, right, 'Master Breeder'?" Gundham: "Hush, pest, I'm getting better, at least a female Cherubi will be kind enough to offer Cheri Berries to you all!" Cherubi: *Smiles presenting a bunch of Cheri Berries between her leaves* Gaidoku, the Nidoran: *CHOMP* Jum-P: "Oiiiiii, leave some for the others, too!" *Gaidoku and Jum-P enter a staring contest, fiercely staring into each other's eyes* OK guys, keep doing that. I'll be right back. I entered the hotel and went to the Casino. A girl wanted to get rid of her Coin Case and flushed it down the toilet before letting me tell her that I'd gladly take it. I explored the rest of the hotel and, as I went out, I saw Jum-P and Gaidoku hugged, munching on Cheri Berries together, apparently drunk... Gundham: "Oh, I didn't mention how Cheri Berries have on Pokemon the same effect as alcohol on humans in big quantities?" Gaidoku " HICCC... What do ya mean, boss... We're on total control... HICCCCC!" Jum-P: *Burrrrrrp..." *Using Ember on Gaidoku accidentally* I'll get you back in till you sober up! Calling me incompetent... They can't keep their senses for 5 minutes without me... *Sigh... With that, I explored some buildings of the City. Velvet rooms, Violet rooms, etc... I also checked the -quite uninteresting- library, since no books on the occult were in there to help me clean my mind and recharge my vicious dark energy batteries... However, I read some interesting stuff about Shadow Pokemon... A concept I'd like, but I really don't since it enslaves the trainer's pokemon, forcing them to follow the road of darkness against their will, rather than showing them the magnificence of darkness itself and letting your 'mons embrace both the light and dark inside them. But, anyways, I needed some cash to feed the rest of the squad... So, I hit the help centre... And took a job about saving a kidnapped Starly. So, after San-D, my Patrat, beat a Biker's Yungoos and Grubbin with her Skull Sceptre (and I barely stopped her from sacrificing them to the Lord of the Abyss), Karen, a woman emanating a strong magical aura, appeared. She sent the bikers somewhere, presumably to keep them as her servants, after sinking their boat with a summoned block of corals. Gundham (Thinking to himself): "Her powers surpass my current level... I'd better retreat... Her aura is quite unstable... Better retreat for now..." So, I did. And, after bringing Starly back to its trainer, I collected my reward! "Ah, helping feels as refreshing as ever!", I thought to myself. After that, I fed my team and went and caught a male Cherubi this time... Part 4: Even more exploring! Spoiler So, since my 'mons had really enjoyed helping, I decided to help some more people! I took the job of finding the missing mother of a girl, who worked as a hairdresser. So, I had to do the detective... This wasn't really a job I had done before, but, during entering buildings, I found again the guy who wanted the male Cherubi and traded for his Buneary! So, I had a new team member! Bun, the Buneary! Bun, the Buneary (Male) Jolly/Klutz (Item: None) Shiny: No Splash Pound Foresight Endure Bun was jumping up and down happily, bouncing on my head, Jum-P's head, Kairi Hime's bunch of tree logs she keeps for casual munching and pulling on my demonic scarf, staring up with big eyes. I tossed it an Oran Berry and petted his head, asking his former owner... Gundham: "Why didn't you want to keep such a cheerful pesky demon any more? It is a happy blessing and curse for me to have him in my team!" *Bun drops the Oran Berry while trying to take a bite... Then steps on it, slips down and falls with his bum over it making a mess, before proceeding to wail in agony* Spoiler Former owner (Pointing at Bun): "For that. Now take him before he splashes my new Cherubi too! Please, no more mess!" Gaidoku (*breaks free from his Pokeball*): "I never thought I'd say it, but... *Sigh...* You... you can have my Oran Berry..." Bun: "R... Really? Me? You are not mad at me?" Spoiler Gaidoku: "Yeah, yeah, whatever, I've had too many Cheri Berries today and I've got a hangover, so skipping one meal won't hurt me... It's yours, just don't cry any more, I need sleep..." Gaidoku poofed back into his Pokeball before Bun even had the chance to thank him, leaving Bun happily hugging his Oran Berry, before munching on it hungrily (with some help from me in order to hold it steadily). Spoiler Bun burps, then laughs, and smiles, before I bring him back in his ball. Gundham (staring at the previous owner): "Gotta be patient with them. They are mischievous, dangerous, flawed beasts. But humans are far more scary and dangerous. Treat Cherubi with respect. I sense the change inside you with my demonic eye. Farewell, initiated one." The guy stayed staring in awe. Behind me I heard the sound of a vase crashing. It was Cherubi's mischief. I turned, to see him not scolding Cherubi, but petting his new friend's leaf instead... "Heh... Humans are still beyond my level of understanding...", I chuckled to myself. Soon, I managed to find Rosa, the hairdresser. She was in a house at the Port, giving free haircuts secretly to a bunch of orphaned (I presumed) kids. She said to her daughter that she couldn't do it in public, because they are a branch of a company from Grand Dream City, and the mayor there is "very adamant on how things are run". I sense Rosa's kindness... Her daughter's relief for finding her mother again, and her anger for not being trusted by her mother... And I also sense a cloud of corruption on behalf of the Grand Dream City's mayor... And my intuition is never wrong... Hell hounds have barked. It won't be the last time I will be troubled by the "mayor of GDC"... But, I have no time for this now... I collected another reward. Part of it was a free haircut for one of my 'mons. I treated Bun to it. He was extremely happy! He was curious about how scissors work and Rosa gave him to hold one. He managed to somehow drop it. I had to catch it before it fell on San-D's head, with the sharp edge. San-D tried to bang Bun on his head, but I got in between. Her Skull Scepter fucking hurts. But my bump increases my mystical powers. I can see everything in colours now. And spinning. The demons are reaching out to me. Then, I fainted. We were all alive, and when I regained my senses everyone was laughing, so I take it everything went well. I also entered a room where a woman was screaming. Weird woman: "Hurah! Hrrraugh! Gurrraaaughhhh! Begone! Cowardice... Cowardice! You foul demons dare haunt me in my dreams? Where I am most vulnerable? Fight me in reality when we shall be on equal ground! Send your next vessel to face me! We shall fight to the death! (After seeing me standing in awe...) Ah! An opponent from hell I deem worthy! You dare enter my domain? This is an act that warrants no mercy!" (Gundham, thinking to himself): "Well, I'm a demon descendant, and it's flattering she thinks of me as a worthy opponent from Hell, but she's giving me the chills, so I will abort mission..." I tried to. And I tried to flee. But she pulled me out of the elevator! Apparently, she's Mercury, 4th member of the Culvier clan. And I am... dead. By her Kadabra's hand. Well, damn, I didn't sign for this! Anyways... I also took on another Help Request and gathered intel about the Hidden Library's possible locations. I do hope we will find some more occult-oriented books than stuff on how to EV train your Pokemon that we found in normal library... I also helped a gay couple reveal their feelings to each other. Which is fine, but I'm not a bloody matchmaker, stop underestimating my strengths! I also got my ass whooped by the Growlithe gang in Oceana Pier... Part 5: Help Centre initiation! Spoiler After all this was over, I decided to go join Ren again at the sewers... Kept him waiting long enough! But he's strong, he can manage! Before joining him again, at an empty apartment I met another team member! Maga-Z, the Pachirisu! Maga-Z, the Pachirisu (Female) Impish/Pickup (Item: None) Shiny: No Bide Growl Charm Quick Attack She was extremely hyper and easily irritable. Every time I try to catch a Pokeball to send a Pokemon on, it will send a tiny amount of electricity out of its ball and makes my hand twitchy by static. Another lil pest. I can hear it giggling inside the Pokeball, every time is hits me with electricity. In the sewers I let Gaidoku gain all the experience he could, which meant that he ate a double portion of Oran Berries and he pounced on me to thank me. Meaning that I needed a double portion of Pecha Berries... After fixing some locked door issues, we met up with Venam and Melia. Melia is the girl that headbutted me right before I got Jum-P and daughter of Prof. Jenner. Venam was pulling a Gaidoku again, trying to get herself free Berries out of her boredom, but it wasn't working this time... Melia was fiddling with the power supply system, to pinpoint what was causing the power outage, hence preventing the trains to move from Gearen to Goldenwood Forest... The previous time she visited the sewers, Melia ran a little experiment. She left garbage bags in the filthy sewer water to see if they'll turn into Trubbish, as rumours have it! And the experiment was successful! Two Trubbishes and a shiny Garbodor appeared out of nowhere, proving the fact that Melia attracts shiny Pokemon! So, Ren and I have to defeat the Garbage Crew! The battle starts at 13:30 of the following video! VS GARBAGE CREW My (one-man) team that handled this dangerous battle was: Gaidoku, the Nidoran (Male) Adamant/Poison Point (Item: None) Shiny: No Poison Sting Peck Double Kick Focus Energy Ren and I handled it easily! Gaidoku did all the work from my team, since a Focus Energy gave him A LOT of critical hits with Peck! After the battle, Gaidoku evolved into a beautiful Nidorino! So, now we had a much stronger member! Gaidoku, the Nidorino (Male) Adamant/Poison Point (Item: None) Shiny: No Poison Sting Peck Double Kick Focus Energy And he hugged me again, careful not to pinch me with his stronger horns again! He did poison me again though, so after the battle he enjoyed an Oran and I enjoyed a Pecha berry... Part 6: Melia's got Shiny Charm! Spoiler So, the whole power issue originated from Garbage Crew members that were chewing on cables! Melia calls some electrologists to fix the issue and invites me to accompany her in Goldenwood Forest! My reaction? "Eh... Well... Sure, I don't think I could offer much to your trip, but I don't have things to do so I'll tag along..." Sand-D, the Patrat escaped from her Pokeball, with her Skull Scepter glowing pink... Apparently that thing can sense emotions by turning the aura that surrounds it into the respective colour! How not convenient to me, San-D! "Boss is going full-shy-blushing mode, we're gonna lose him to a girl! Halp everyone!!!" she shouted, as Ren and Venam departed after Melia. Then they all broke free. And pounced on me. "Pesky devils..." I laughed to myself while they all bit my body and snuggled in my scarf playfully... "Let's get on our way! Who wants some fresh air? We can hit the Gearen Park! Got a free day to spend till we leave to Goldenwood Forest!" We walked to there. And played and rested! Till the next chapter, enjoy everyone! You know, maybe after a certain point, you should write as you for a bit and tell how you like the areas you've visited and the dialogue and the characters and etc. Just a suggestion but I'd be interested in seeing how you feel about those things. And you're welcome. In this run Jess doesn't exist. Gundham does, so whenever I speak in my chapters, it's Gundham's thinking actually. But our thoughts/opinions aren't too far, if they were, he'd not be my favourite Danganronpa character! I will do a Bug monorun of Rejuvenation in the future where I will focus more on stuff I like/don't like. For the time being, I'm loving creating a personality for each of my Pokemon!
