Personally I would say trading any legendary pokemon is cheating regardless whether you keep it or not because story wise it is still not obtainable/findable. Though cheating itself isn't bad as long as it doesn't break your game technically or immersion wise. If you want to have empty entry (saw a pokemon) you can always use debug menu and make the encounter with any pokemon you want in this case Mew and let it escape. Link to post Share on other sites

If you need it. This is tutorial how to enable debug/cheat menu. Be warned and know what you are doing.
